Hello I'm Hayley and
this is Newsround. | 0:00:12 | 0:00:13
First to huge celebrations
in the country of Zimbabwe | 0:00:13 | 0:00:16
after leader President Robert Mugabe
announced he's given up power. | 0:00:16 | 0:00:21
He'd been in charge
for 37 years | 0:00:21 | 0:00:23
but lots of people
did not like how he ruled. | 0:00:23 | 0:00:26
People danced in the streets
and honked car horns | 0:00:26 | 0:00:28
to show how happy they are. | 0:00:28 | 0:00:31
The army took control
of the African country last week | 0:00:31 | 0:00:33
but Mugabe refused
to step down until yesterday. | 0:00:33 | 0:00:38
Head online to find out more
about what's going on in Zimbabwe. | 0:00:38 | 0:00:44
Six months ago today
there was a terror attack | 0:00:44 | 0:00:46
at an Ariana Grande
concert in Manchester. | 0:00:46 | 0:00:48
It shocked the whole country. | 0:00:48 | 0:00:50
Hundreds of people were hurt
and 22 people died. | 0:00:50 | 0:00:54
I've been speaking to Florence,
who was at the concert. | 0:00:54 | 0:00:57
She wasn't hurt physically | 0:00:57 | 0:00:58
but has told me how she found it
emotionaly difficult | 0:00:58 | 0:01:00
and how she has come
to terms with it. | 0:01:00 | 0:01:10
Florence was that the concert with a
friend, on what started out as one | 0:01:10 | 0:01:15
of the best days of her life.
# One last time. # | 0:01:15 | 0:01:23
But soon became something very
different. My friend and I feed to | 0:01:23 | 0:01:29
say we had been and it was amazing,
and as we started to come out, we | 0:01:29 | 0:01:34
heard a noise and that is when we
came out here, just up the stairs, | 0:01:34 | 0:01:39
just on this road. It was just
masses of people. But it was not | 0:01:39 | 0:01:43
until Florence saw the news but what
actually had happened sunk in. We | 0:01:43 | 0:01:47
are waking up this morning to the
news that there was an attack last | 0:01:47 | 0:01:52
night at Aaron Ariana Grande a
concert in Manchester. We got back | 0:01:52 | 0:01:57
in and watch the news and saw the
suspected terrorist attack at the | 0:01:57 | 0:02:01
concert and it was just mad, because
I have been a fan of hers since I | 0:02:01 | 0:02:05
can remember. We used to watch on
television when I was a child, why | 0:02:05 | 0:02:10
would people try to attack young
children and vulnerable people at a | 0:02:10 | 0:02:16
place where everyone is really
happy? And how did you feel over the | 0:02:16 | 0:02:20
following days and weeks? I shut
myself up in my room and did not | 0:02:20 | 0:02:23
come out of my room for the next few
days. My mum would call me for | 0:02:23 | 0:02:28
dinner and I would eat and go back
upstairs. Florence stopped going to | 0:02:28 | 0:02:32
school and even stopped wanting to
see your friends for many weeks. | 0:02:32 | 0:02:37
What changed? What made you think
you needed to talk to someone? My | 0:02:37 | 0:02:42
dad actually told me about this
counselling session and has been to | 0:02:42 | 0:02:46
go with them. I went just to please
my dad and it really opened my eyes | 0:02:46 | 0:02:51
to a lot of things. After that,
Florence spoke to her dad every day | 0:02:51 | 0:02:55
about how she was feeling, and
speaking to a counsellor made her | 0:02:55 | 0:02:59
feel like she wasn't alone.
Something in your you will think my | 0:02:59 | 0:03:05
parents understand of my friends
understand. That's all you need. If | 0:03:05 | 0:03:08
your friends and parents understand,
that's all you need. | 0:03:08 | 0:03:11
If you feel worried or upset
by what happened in Manchester | 0:03:11 | 0:03:14
or anything else that you hear
about in the news, | 0:03:14 | 0:03:16
we've got advice on the website. | 0:03:16 | 0:03:17
There's also
more information | 0:03:17 | 0:03:18
and links to charities
which can help. | 0:03:18 | 0:03:22
Next, help at is hand for hedgehogs! | 0:03:22 | 0:03:23
As their numbers fall in the UK
a school in Somerset | 0:03:23 | 0:03:26
have come up with a plan
to help protect them! | 0:03:26 | 0:03:36
Hedgehogs need a nice and cosy, warm
home in the winter is a pretty box | 0:03:38 | 0:03:42
in your garden. We have got this box
for hedgehogs to live in over the | 0:03:42 | 0:03:47
winter, but it is not very well
camouflaged. So we are going to run | 0:03:47 | 0:03:51
out and get lots of sticks and leads
to camouflage it over winter, as | 0:03:51 | 0:03:55
hedgehogs do not really like being
in the open. Then it will be nice | 0:03:55 | 0:04:00
and cosy for them. Lots of people
think hedgehogs... That makes | 0:04:00 | 0:04:08
hedgehogs it. Instead of that, give
and dog food and maybe a source of | 0:04:08 | 0:04:14
water. Hedgehogs Lovat! Start with
cardboard then egg boxes... Sticks. | 0:04:14 | 0:04:26
And then anything else that
hedgehogs build-up. We've made this | 0:04:26 | 0:04:31
poster for the public. Hedgehogs can
be harmed by letter, so pick up that | 0:04:31 | 0:04:35
crisp packet! Senses can touch, that
hedgehogs. So cut a 13 centimetre | 0:04:35 | 0:04:44
hole so they can get in and out!
Thank you, guys. | 0:04:44 | 0:04:50
That's all from me for now | 0:04:50 | 0:04:51
but I'll be back with more
in just over half an hour. | 0:04:51 | 0:05:01 |
