Hi. I'm Leah with your evening update. First, Mount Everest in

Nepal is the biggest mountain in the world - but at the moment, no-one

can climb it. On Friday, a disastrous avalanche killed 16 of

the local mountain guides, known as Sherpas. Now the Sherpas are saying

they don't want to climb over safety fears, and out of respect for the

dead. Now for those looking to reach the highest point on Earth,

everything's on hold. So just how important is the job of a Sherpa?

It's almost impossible to climb Everest without a Sherpa, they are

that important. The Sherpas I work with, some of them have climbed it

17 or 18 times. They know it intimately. It's really hard work

what they do, and it's very dangerous. I don't think they get

the acknowledgement that they deserve. By our standards, they

don't get paid particularly well, but by Nepalese standards, they get

paid very well. Is it enough for risking their lives? That is a hard

question to say. How do you put monetary value on risking your life?

mountains. Now, it's not often that you get a

Wimbledon champion and Olympic gold medallist coming to your school. But

that happened for kids in Dunblane today, as Andy Murray dropped in to

say hello. He was awarded with a big honour called "the freedom of the

city of Stirling". Andy got quite emotional about coming back home,

and broke down in tears as he made a speech.

This honour means a lot to me, so thank you very much for everyone who

has come. Thank you very much for everyone who voted, and I apologise

for this behaviour. APPLAUSE.

I think everyone knows that I'm extremely proud...

..of where I come from. APPLAUSE.

Afterwards, Andy spent an hour chatting to school kids all over the

UK. He revealed what he's most proud of, and what music he listens to in

the gym. I listen to music a lot. More when

I'm in the gym then when I'm on the court.

I think maybe the gold medal at the Olympics, because that is something

I will never get the chance to do again.

I love travelling. I've travelled to all the continents and been to loads

of different countries. That's one thing I'm hugely grateful to tennis

for. Well, after that, Ricky got to speak
