Hi, guys - Jenny here, with some amazing stories coming your way. | :00:00. | :00:08.
Coming up, the scientific breakthrough that could help predict | :00:09. | :00:12.
Plus, the turtle and his penguin pals preparing for a long trip | :00:13. | :00:16.
Fighter planes have started dropping bombs on Syria for the first time | :00:17. | :00:33.
as President Barack Obama continues his plan to try and beat a radical | :00:34. | :00:36.
IS is a militant Muslim group which has taken over large parts | :00:37. | :00:40.
of Iraq and Syria in the last couple of months. | :00:41. | :00:42.
It wants to create a new country with strict Islamic | :00:43. | :00:46.
rules and has tried to harm people who don't agree with its aims. | :00:47. | :00:49.
Obama has promised to stop the group and has already bombed | :00:50. | :00:52.
Next, to the scientific discovery that could help predict - | :00:53. | :00:59.
for the first time ever - when earthquakes will happen. | :01:00. | :01:01.
Experts have spent years trying to figure out when devastating quakes | :01:02. | :01:04.
will occur but and now a team in Sweden they think they might | :01:05. | :01:07.
Big earthquakes don't tend to happen in the UK but in some parts | :01:08. | :01:16.
of the world they can destroy entire cities and leave millions | :01:17. | :01:19.
But for years they have been the only natural disaster experts | :01:20. | :01:22.
REPORTER: It is bigger than the US state | :01:23. | :01:26.
of California and it is powering ever closer to shore. | :01:27. | :01:28.
Weather forecasters can plot paths of tornadoes and hurricanes | :01:29. | :01:32.
and predict heavy rains or flooding and even volcanoes are monitored | :01:33. | :01:37.
for warning signs that show when they are about to erupt. | :01:38. | :01:41.
But the same could never be said about earthquakes - until now. | :01:42. | :01:47.
Scientists think they have come up with the new method and it is | :01:48. | :01:50.
Earthquakes are caused when huge pieces of rock on the Earth's | :01:51. | :01:56.
surface called tectonic plates rub together and force waves of energy | :01:57. | :02:00.
This causes the tremors and shakes felt during | :02:01. | :02:05.
an earthquake, and experts examining groundwater before two separate | :02:06. | :02:07.
earthquakes in Iceland found the chemicals in the water changed | :02:08. | :02:11.
They think it is all because of stress building in the rocks beneath | :02:12. | :02:17.
Firstly, it shows that something happens before an earthquake, | :02:18. | :02:24.
and if we are ever going to be able to predict earthquakes we need | :02:25. | :02:27.
Secondly, that something is something we can measure and detect. | :02:28. | :02:34.
This is just one study and some scientists say the new | :02:35. | :02:37.
It is possible for changes in fluid flow to arise | :02:38. | :02:44.
Fluids in volcanically active regions can be affected | :02:45. | :02:50.
So just because we observe them doesn't necessarily mean there is | :02:51. | :02:56.
But everyone is hoping that more work to successfully predict | :02:57. | :03:01.
when earthquakes will happen could help save millions | :03:02. | :03:04.
In other news, could you last a day without watching TV? | :03:05. | :03:14.
New guidelines to try and make people more healthy say families | :03:15. | :03:17.
The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence says limiting | :03:18. | :03:24.
viewing could mean fewer of us might be overweight. | :03:25. | :03:27.
They also recommend walking or cycling to school and taking the | :03:28. | :03:29.
Scotland's First Minister, Alex Salmond, is expected to call | :03:30. | :03:39.
for 16 year-olds to be able to vote in all future elections. | :03:40. | :03:42.
He'll speak about the issue when the Scottish Parliament meets today, the | :03:43. | :03:45.
first time since Scotland voted no to becoming an independent country. | :03:46. | :03:50.

Now - penguins, sharks and other sea life are all taking to the motorway | :03:54. | :03:58.
this morning as they prepare for a big homecoming later today. | :03:59. | :04:02.
Last winter's storms destroyed the Sea Life Centre in Hunstanton, | :04:03. | :04:04.
near Norwich, and all the animals who lived there had to be moved. | :04:05. | :04:08.
But after ten months their original home has been repaired | :04:09. | :04:11.
and wildlife experts will spend today transporting as many of them | :04:12. | :04:15.
You probably can't see because of the reflections on the glass | :04:16. | :04:25.
but there is a huge replica of a dinosaur above us here. | :04:26. | :04:28.
This tank will welcome a turtle, the fastest turtle in the East. | :04:29. | :04:36.
He is on the way down from another sea life centre on the coast, it | :04:37. | :04:40.
was an incredible operation, tidal flooding caused the damage here. | :04:41. | :04:44.
And, this turtle. I will have to guide him in the water, whenever | :04:45. | :04:54.
anything enters the water such as a foreign objects that are told tends | :04:55. | :04:58.
to move away so to get him to do what I want to do, we will have to | :04:59. | :05:01.
guide him into the stretch ourselves and won't he is in, when she out of | :05:02. | :05:07.
the tank. How much damage was done here? More damage than your worst | :05:08. | :05:12.
nightmare could have imagined when the tidal flood reached the sea wall | :05:13. | :05:16.
back in December. Absolutely devastating. | :05:17. | :05:18.
We had three or four feet of sea water | :05:19. | :05:20.
We lost mains power and we were just | :05:21. | :05:23.
All the way around the building we had | :05:24. | :05:30.
water coming in through every doorway and | :05:31. | :05:31.
It became very apparent that we were facing a major event. | :05:32. | :05:38.
?3 million they have spent to try to reopen the aquarium. | :05:39. | :05:43.
They have three weeks to go until it reopens but today is a big operation | :05:44. | :05:47.
to start bringing some of the animals back into the tanks. | :05:48. | :05:53.
That's all from me, Newsround's back at 4.20 with Martin. | :05:54. | :05:59. |
