The Hi, I'm Leah with your last Newsround of the day. Coming up: The

:00:00.:00:12.

rescue of three bears who were kept as pets. And scientists discover

:00:13.:00:18.

more about the Moon. It's something you see every evening lighting up

:00:19.:00:22.

the night sky but have you ever wondered what the Moon is made of?

:00:23.:00:25.

Well scientists have been trying to work out the make up of the Moon for

:00:26.:00:30.

a long time. They thought they'd understood it but now they're not so

:00:31.:00:33.

sure. Nel's been investigating. The Moon - when it's shining brightly

:00:34.:00:37.

you can't miss it and it's an object that has fascinated people for

:00:38.:00:40.

thousands of years. You may think the moon's just there to tell you

:00:41.:00:44.

it's time for bed. But it actually has loads of functions. The moon

:00:45.:00:48.

affects the tides in our oceans and the seasons in the year. It can also

:00:49.:00:55.

be used to measure things like time and date in a calendar. And sending

:00:56.:01:00.

a man to the moon in 1969 was one of the biggest achievements of our

:01:01.:01:04.

time. By studying rocks from the Moon, scientists thought they had

:01:05.:01:07.

worked out what was up there. But recently they've discovered it may

:01:08.:01:10.

have a lot less water than they thought. So what is it made of and

:01:11.:01:20.

why does it matter? Storytellers used to say it was made of cheese -

:01:21.:01:25.

well one thing for sure that's definitely not true. We used to

:01:26.:01:33.

think the moon was made in a massive collision back in history but that

:01:34.:01:39.

would have tried it out. -- dried it out. It's clear there's still loads

:01:40.:01:51.

to find out about the moon. There are plans to send more missions up

:01:52.:01:55.

there in the future so chances are there are loads more discoveries yet

:01:56.:01:58.

to come. Next, a college in London has started a girls-only course for

:01:59.:02:01.

wannabe orchestra conductors after complaints there's too few women

:02:02.:02:04.

doing it. Last year this lady - Marin Alsop - became the first woman

:02:05.:02:08.

ever to conduct the famous Last Night of the Proms event. We've been

:02:09.:02:12.

asking what jobs you'd like to see more women or more men doing? Tori

:02:13.:02:15.

in Sheffield says there should be more girls designing cars. Alice, in

:02:16.:02:23.

Basingstoke says I'd like to see more male nurses and dentists and

:02:24.:02:27.

more female doctors. And before we go three brown bear cubs have been

:02:28.:02:30.

rescued in Eastern Europe The one-month-old cubs - thought to be

:02:31.:02:33.

brothers and sisters - were being kept illegally inside two separate

:02:34.:02:36.

homes. Animal campaigners were tipped off when photos of the cubs

:02:37.:02:39.

were spotted on a social networking site. The trio are now being looked

:02:40.:02:46.

after at a bear sanctuary and authorities are investigating what

:02:47.:02:52.

happened to the mother. That's all from me, Ricky's back with more

:02:53.:02:56.

Newsround tomorrow morning at 07:40. Bye from me!

:02:57.:03:00.
