Hello, Jenny here with your Friday Newsround.

:00:14.:00:15.

First up, yes, today is Red Nose Day - a day when celebs,

:00:16.:00:18.

like Comic Relief founder Lenny Henry, get silly,

:00:19.:00:20.

and loads of you pop on your Red Noses to raise money

:00:21.:00:23.

Raising money for Comic Relief, the first ever Red Nose

:00:24.:00:29.

Since then the nation's noses have been changing colour all in the name

:00:30.:00:37.

of helping to tackle poverty in the UK and around the world.

:00:38.:00:43.

Since Comic Relief began it's raised a whopping ?1 billion!

:00:44.:00:48.

This year DJ and TV presenter Sara Cox

:00:49.:00:53.

has spent 24 hours - yes, 24 hrs - dancing to '80s music,

:00:54.:00:56.

And everyone's looking forward to the the big

:00:57.:01:02.

One thing lots of grown-ups are talking about is a short film

:01:03.:01:08.

made with the stars of Love Actually.

:01:09.:01:12.

It was a big movie that came out in 2003, but what do

:01:13.:01:15.

But Comic Relief is all about the ways people

:01:16.:01:20.

across the UK try to raise money and make a difference.

:01:21.:01:25.

This school in Essex made a gigantic paper chain to raise money!

:01:26.:01:28.

They even broke the world record - the old record was 3.2 kilometres -

:01:29.:01:32.

but this morning it was beaten by 200 metres.

:01:33.:01:37.

300 children from this school in Suffolk did a giant Mexican wave.

:01:38.:01:43.

And 160 children in Norfolk did a flash mob dance all dressed up

:01:44.:01:47.

Well, that looked like so much fun, we had to get involved ourselves.

:01:48.:01:55.

Martin went to a very special school in Aberdeenshire in Scotland to find

:01:56.:01:58.

I've come here because, in 2015, the pupils at this school

:01:59.:02:07.

raised over ?21,000, and that's more than any

:02:08.:02:09.

And this year, they're trying to beat it.

:02:10.:02:14.

OK, so I want to know what you've been doing

:02:15.:02:16.

So, obviously we've mountains of red noses, and we also made cakes.

:02:17.:02:22.

What did you do for Red Nose Day this year?

:02:23.:02:25.

We went to Tesco's and we raised quite a lot of money, and we also,

:02:26.:02:29.

we are doing loads of different things in classes.

:02:30.:02:32.

I want to know what else you're doing.

:02:33.:02:34.

I think that's going to make the most money, right?

:02:35.:02:41.

Mrs Martin, one of the deputy headteachers here,

:02:42.:02:44.

Last year, we had the girls from the office in the stocks

:02:45.:02:50.

This year we thought we'd give them some extra support and some extra

:02:51.:02:54.

Tell me, what makes your school so special with the fact

:02:55.:03:00.

that they can raise over ?21,000 in one year?

:03:01.:03:02.

We've got some fantastic hard-working staff, pupils,

:03:03.:03:04.

and the parents have all got behind it to support us.

:03:05.:03:07.

OK, Mrs Martin, I'm going to leave you to it, good luck.

:03:08.:03:11.

No, there's an empty stock there, that one's for you!

:03:12.:03:16.

And it's not just Martin getting involved.

:03:17.:03:29.

You've been sending us comments and pictures

:03:30.:03:31.

First up is Alisha from Hastings, whose school is raising money today.

:03:32.:03:35.

Next we have Fraser who's 10, Erica, 9, Heidi, 7, and Skyler, 2,

:03:36.:03:40.

who all dressed up "funny for money" at school.

:03:41.:03:43.

Eight-year-old Izzy, from Reading, has also been in touch,

:03:44.:03:46.

to say that she's been making bookmarks, to sell and raise

:03:47.:03:49.

Class 2KK from Weston-super-Mare say their school has been dressing

:03:50.:04:00.

They've already raised ?564, and will be telling their favourite

:04:01.:04:04.

Finally, Orla from Oxford says at her school, people can pay money

:04:05.:04:10.

to vote which teacher does a rap battle, and which

:04:11.:04:12.

Sport now, and tonight it's a massive night for Wales

:04:13.:04:20.

They take on the Republic of Ireland in Dublin,

:04:21.:04:24.

They need to win to have any real chance of reaching the World Cup

:04:25.:04:29.

And even with the power of Gareth Bale on their side,

:04:30.:04:35.

boss Chris Coleman says both teams are evenly matched, on all levels.

:04:36.:04:44.

Very similar in terms of a lot of passion, a lot of energy.

:04:45.:04:47.

So no matter what anybody says, what won't be forgotten is the game.

:04:48.:04:50.

When the whistle blows, get at it, just get into it and let's see

:04:51.:04:53.

That's all from the team today, but I'll be right here all weekend,

:04:54.:04:58.

bringing you the latest news, so make sure you don't miss it.

:04:59.:05:02.
