Hey there, half-termers. School may be out this week, but Newsround is

still very much on the ball. Sonali and Ricky in the studio with your

headlines tonight. Coming up: The hunt is on to find a great

white shark which killed a diver in Australia.

And have you seen this satellite? If so, scientists want to know

where. First to Turkey, where rescuers are

searching for survivors after a big earthquake struck yesterday

afternoon. The 7.2 magnitude quake hit the area called Van, in the

east of the country near the border with Iran. 265 people are known to

have died and more than 1,000 have been injured, but those numbers are

expected to rise. Terrified but alive. After being

trapped in a tiny space in freezing conditions, 13-year-old Yunus was

pulled out from the rubble. Rescuers have been using picks,

shovels, even their bare hands to look for survivors of the quake.

Many people's homes were made of clay bricks so they didn't stand a

chance. People are scared. Tens of thousands chose to spend the night

outside in the freezing cold, worried about aftershocks. Food

stations are being set up to help those who've been made homeless and

water and blankets are being shipped out. Earthquakes are a big

risk in Turkey because the country sits on fault lines. 12 years ago,

two quakes killed almost 20,000 people. This time around, rescuers

don't know how many survivors are still trapped. What they do know is

time is running out to recover many more people from the rubble.

Next, protestors camped outside one of the world's most famous churches

- and one of London's top tourist attractions - say they could be

there for several months. St Paul's Cathedral has been losing thousands

of pounds a day since it closed its doors on Friday. Church bosses say

it's not safe to let tourists in while there are so many people

protesting outside. It's the first time the church has been shut since

the Second World War. The protesters are unhappy with the way

banks and governments around the world are using and spending money,

and say they want things to change. Now, it's the result we can't stop

talking about. A result that has rocked the Premier League and made

quite a statement to the world. Everyone knew Manchester City were

good - but no one thought they were good enough to beat the most

successful team in Premier League history, 6-1. But they did. What

makes the result so amazing are the stats. Anyone who isn't a United

fan may want to hit record right now so you can use these facts to

gloat. Let's do them in date order. First up, it's the worst defeat

EVER for Manchester United in the Premier League. It gets worse. It's

the worst loss for the Red Devils at their home ground since 1955.

The most successful team in English footy haven't had six goals scored

against them since 1930. And wait for it, it's the first time arch

rivals Manchester City have scored six in the derby since 1926! Sir

Alex Ferguson wasn't even born then. He has called the result his

''worst ever day'' at the club. is a defeat and a bad defeat. The

impact will come from the impact -- from the embarrassment. We will

expect an impact, without doubt there will be a response. City have

now proved they're serious contenders for the Premier League

title. We've been in Manchester to see how the results gone down.

City will win the league, because they have got rue Strong players

can beat you. Passengers in Bristol had a lucky

escape today after the entire roof of their double decker bus was

ripped off after they hit a tree. 18 people were hurt and seven had

to be taken to hospital in the collision.

Next, to a hunt that makes looking for a needle in a haystack an

absolute doddle. Scientists are looking for whatever is left of

this - a German satellite called ROSAT that crashed back to Earth

yesterday. They reckon it probably broke into about 30 pieces and as

there have been no reports of anyone being hurt, it may have

landed somewhere in the ocean in South East Asia.

We're taking you to Australia now, where the hunt is on to find a

great white shark which killed a diver over the weekend. It's the

third deadly attack off the western coast in the last two months, and

scientists say it's possible all the victims were attacked by the

it down. Within an hour of this being known, the fisheries minister

issued an order to allow the fisheries officers to try to catch

or destroy that shark. Sharks like the great white are protected

species and aren't usually caught and killed. Conservationists say

the government is over-reacting. They say it's impossible to tell

which shark carried out the attack. They want people to be more careful

in the sea. But with three deaths in two months, authorities say they

need to protect the public before For the second week in a row, the X

Factor lost out to Strictly when the two shows went head to head on

Saturday night. Although the ITV show is still pulling in more

viewers overall, Strictly on the BBC managed to pull in an extra 1.5

million viewers while both shows overlapped for 15 minutes. This

Sunday saw Sami Brookes pack her bags on the X Factor, and my

favourite celeb impressionist - Rory Bremner - was voted off

Strictly. Finally, it's nearly Halloween and

what I want to know is, what will you do with your pumpkin? Over in

America, this giant one came to a very messy end. They're also being

used as footballs for elephants and orangutans at the Los Angeles Zoo.
