Good afternoon. Coming up - Life of Pi storms the Oscars. It's a big

win for Adele too. And we ask top Paralympian, Hannah Cockroft, if

the Games have left a big legacy. This is Newsround. OK, first up,

you don't get more A-list than the Oscars. They are the awards

everyone wants. This year, some of your favourite films won big. Life

of Pi got five awards. Brave and Adele got two. The biggest honour

went to Daniel Day-Lewis. It's the highest prize you can win

as an actor. Last night Daniel Day- Lewis won as Best Actor for the

third time. That is something no- one else has done. He played the US

President in Lincoln. He is said to have been so dedicated to the part

he stayed in character even when he was not working. My wife has lived

with some very strange men. They are strange as individuals and

probably stranger if taken as a group.

Adele can proudly add another award to her collection. She bagged Best

Original Song for Skyfall. The first time a Bond theme has won.

Thank you. This is amazing! Brave got Best Animation against films

like Wreck It Ralph and Paranorman. The biggest winner of the night was

Life of Pi, which got four awards, including Best Director for Ang Lee.

The movie was taken from a book thought to be unfilmable. It tells

the story of a boy stranded at sea on a boat with a Bengal tiger.

Green screen let it appear like the boy was on a boat with a tiger. To

some other stories - Ikea has pulled a batch of meatballs from

Antarctic expedition with frostbite. Next, we all watched last summer as

British Paralympians brought home medal after medal, but what

difference have the Games made to disabled people. We sent a guest

reporter, Martin Dougan, who was one of Channel 4's presenters to

meet Hannah Cockroft. What has life been like for her since the Games?

She is known as the hurricane - the fastest woman on three wheels. She

has 21 world records, and not one, but 2 Para Olympic gold medals. I

am catching up with her as she prepares for the next big challenge.

We only have one brake on the chair. If I hit it at great speed I will

spin across the track. Why not go and get a cup of tea then? Life off

the track has its own challenges too. At home, it's not too bad. I

have my car. I have an adapted car. I have hand controls. Sometimes I

get on the bus. A lot of the time I find myself going three or four

miles through London just to get to where I need to be. Before my00-

metre final, my coach rang me up and was like, "I don't think you

will win it." I was like, I am going to show him I can win this.

She only started wheelchair racing six years ago. I went to a

mainstream school. Being the first disabled child at the schools they

never had facilities. I could never do PE. When I found a way to do

sport I instantly loved it. What has changed? I have seen so much

proof that the legacy is still there. I have seen children getting

involved in not just disability sport, but sport all over the world.

People have held the medal and been like, "I'm going to win one of
