Morning, it's Wednesday, I'm Ayshah with the top

stories around, including -

The school who got a surprise visit from Chewbacca.

And the giant mushroom, mistaken for a rock.

It's Newsround.

First, who doesn't like a bit of robot action on a Wednesday morning?

Europe's biggest robotics event has been taking place in France

and all the talk is about something called a Cobot.

The idea behind it is that it will work with humans

rather than replace them.

Technology reporter Rory Cellan-Jones took

at closer look at it, at Innorobo in Paris.

Now, these dancing robots are a lot of fun and they look like toys

but they are pretty clever.

There is lots of clever technology in them.

Robots are doing all sorts of things in all sorts of places.

Let's go and find out a bit more.

This is Pepper - it is what is called

a companion robot.

It is already in lots of Japanese homes and businesses and it

will be coming to Europe.

She doesn't do much but she is going to appear in all sorts

of shops quite soon, giving you information.

Maybe at the train station telling you when the next train is due.

But basically, she is supposed to be a bit of fun, aren't you?

Robots have been in factories for years but they are dangerous,

they have to be locked away.

They can harm people and of course they take people's jobs.

But there is a new kind here called a collaborative robot which you can

work together with in factories and I am about to go

and teach one a simple job.

We are going to teach this robot a simple task.

Get it to take this from there and Guillaume,

show me how you train a robot. And now do I press a button?

Yeah, on this one. That button?

Yeah. Press that button, OK.

That's lovely.

You can see on the screen, that is...

You have activated the first pitch.

OK. Then, you just grab it again here.

Grab it again here? Yeah.

Move it across because we are going to put it down.

Put it down? Yeah.

Put it down there.

So now, we will see if you did it well.

Now we are going to see if it works. Almost good.

I think it's worked.

To India now, where insect poo is turning one of the country's

best-known monuments green.

Environmentalists say the Taj Mahal is being polluted by waste

from the nearby Yamuna River.

The green-black patches are leaving marks on the walls, which workers

are scrubbing every day.

But archaeologists say regular cleaning can damage the surface.

Scottish player Kim Little has been named BBC Women's

Footballer of the Year 2016.

She plays for the Seattle Reign team in the US and has played 115 times

for Scotland, scoring 46 goals.

Now, this summer, a special anniversary will remember

the soldiers who died during the Battle of The Somme -

the deadliest battle of World War I.

On 1st July, a concert will be held in Manchester to remember those

who lost their lives and children are being asked to get involved.

Ricky's got more.

The Battle of the Somme, fought in northern France,

was one of the bloodiest of World War I.

For five months, the British and French armies clashed

with the German-led opposition in a brutal battle.

Almost 100 years later, young people are being asked

to create memory squares, dedicated to those who died.

I decided to remember the post men and women because it must have been

so hard to have to be delivering news and stuff about how

so many people had died.

I decided to remember Patrick McGuire, a former

Manchester City player, because I am quite a big

Manchester City fan.

I drew a door with a telegram going through it.

He was a young man when he signed from City, around 21.

Eventually, thousands of memory squares will be printed on to tiles

and then placed on a special pathway here at Heaton Park in Manchester.

It is all part of the national commemoration of the

Battle of the Somme.

The reason why we remember the Somme so much more

than perhaps any other battle in the First World War,

is because of the pals.

You had groups of people going together, all from the same

neighbourhood, the same town, the same sports club.

They all went to war together and that meant that lots of them

were killed or wounded together.

It was a really big event and because so many people died,

it is good to remember them and to feel proud about them

because they fought for our country.

Once uploaded, these memory squares will play an important part

in commemorating the anniversary of this well-known battle.

Next, It was back to school for Chewbacca.

The Star Wars character took a break from filming to visit a Republic

of Ireland primary school.

Apparently the furry star took time out to take selfies and he even

got his own special performance of the Star Wars theme.

And finally, the farmer who stumbled across a pretty huge

vegetable in Turkey.

This mushroom - which he says weighs 8kg.

He first thought it was a rock, but on closer inspection,

he realised what it was.

The mushroom is record breaking for the region, and the farmer said

he'll probably treat all the nearby villagers to tea.
