Newsround here with all of Thursday's top stories. | :00:00. | :00:07.
I'm Ricky with some of this on the way. | :00:08. | :00:09.
No brakes, no steering wheel - the car that drives itself. | :00:10. | :00:12.
And the world's biggest boy band kick off the UK leg of their tour. | :00:13. | :00:21.
First, to the city of Calais in France where hundreds | :00:22. | :00:24.
of people living in makeshift camps have been made to leave. | :00:25. | :00:28.
The people are migrants who have come from the Middle East, Asia and | :00:29. | :00:31.
But French authorities say the camps are a danger to people's | :00:32. | :00:37.
For months, these people have been living under | :00:38. | :00:44.
sheets and plastic bags, with no power, water and little food. | :00:45. | :00:47.
They've now packed everything up and left. | :00:48. | :00:50.
Many people who've been living here want to come to the UK to start | :00:51. | :00:56.
Some of them have fled war torn countries | :00:57. | :01:00.
The camps are all close to the port in Calais | :01:01. | :01:05.
in France where ferries cross the English Channel to Britain. | :01:06. | :01:08.
French authorities say the camps needed to be cleared because of | :01:09. | :01:11.
a contagious skin condition called scabies, which they say is spreading | :01:12. | :01:14.
A deadline was set for people in the camps to leave this morning | :01:15. | :01:19.
and the police arrived to make sure they had gone. | :01:20. | :01:22.
This was despite protests from some migrants who wanted to stay. | :01:23. | :01:28.
This is the Syrian camp next to the port and the police are working | :01:29. | :01:35.
their way through tent by tent, looking inside, seeing who is in | :01:36. | :01:39.
there. There has been announcements on a loud speaker, telling people | :01:40. | :01:44.
they need to move on. No one knows where they're supposed to go. There | :01:45. | :01:48.
are buses parked on the road behind the camp. No one seem to know where | :01:49. | :01:52.
the buses will take them. At some point we expect this whole camp to | :01:53. | :01:56.
be bulldozed. Since then makeshift camps have | :01:57. | :02:06.
sprung up around the port. Local officials in Calais say | :02:07. | :02:08.
the migrants were offered buses to take them to new accommodation, | :02:09. | :02:11.
but many didn't want to get on. It's not clear now where | :02:12. | :02:15.
the migrants will go, but what is clear is that this camp | :02:16. | :02:17.
is no longer an option. Next, many of you have been looking | :02:18. | :02:21.
forward to this for months and now One Direction are just hours | :02:22. | :02:24.
away from kicking off the UK leg The boys have already performed | :02:25. | :02:28.
in front of screaming crowds in South America and Ireland | :02:29. | :02:32.
for the Where We Are tour. With nearly 50,000 Directioners | :02:33. | :02:35.
expected to pack What everyone has been looking | :02:36. | :02:53.
forward to this. The Stadium of Light is used to putting on a show | :02:54. | :02:57.
for Premier League football. But tonight it is all about Premier | :02:58. | :03:02.
League pop stars as the world's biggest boy band, One Direction | :03:03. | :03:06.
perform. The boys have been here before. They came here last Tuesday | :03:07. | :03:10.
for rehearsal and got themselves some free football shirts in a | :03:11. | :03:14.
cheeky kick about on the park. What is that, all the good thins about | :03:15. | :03:20.
being a pop star. The fans are the most loyal in the world. I have got | :03:21. | :03:29.
two Directioners here. You guys have come from Leeds? What is it like | :03:30. | :03:37.
being here? Really good. And I... I'm quite amazed at the big | :03:38. | :03:41.
building. What was it like when you found you had tickets? I got them | :03:42. | :03:48.
when my birthday last year. I was really excited and screamed my head | :03:49. | :03:54.
off when I got them. You have got to show me how big fans you are? Look | :03:55. | :04:02.
at this - that is amazing. Tell me quickly, who is your favourite? | :04:03. | :04:11.
Lewis. Niall. Have a great time. I tried to get a ticket all day. Can't | :04:12. | :04:15.
get one. But I might catch up with these two later to see how exciting | :04:16. | :04:21.
it was back to you, Ricky. I love it. | :04:22. | :04:28.
Now imagine a car that drives you to school, | :04:29. | :04:31.
or takes you to see your mates without anyone behind the wheel? | :04:32. | :04:34.
Well it may not be that far off, because Google has announced it's | :04:35. | :04:38.
going to start building self-driving cars. | :04:39. | :04:40.
The company plans to build 100 vehicles | :04:41. | :04:42.
which won't have steering wheels or pedals, simply stop and go buttons. | :04:43. | :04:45.
Some people say driverless cars could reduce car crashes, | :04:46. | :04:47.
but some researchers believe they could make traffic worse. | :04:48. | :04:50.
It's been a wet half term for lots of you. | :04:51. | :04:52.
We've been asking you what you've been doing for fun. | :04:53. | :04:55.
