Hey, everyone.

0:00:050:00:06

Martin here with Sunday's top stories.

0:00:060:00:07

On the way!

0:00:070:00:08

We've got big fossils of the reptile that lived with dinosaurs.

0:00:080:00:11

And big cars - a sneak peek of the new Top Gear.

0:00:110:00:21

First, the winner of this year's Britain's Got Talent has been

0:00:280:00:28

decided after a blockbuster final on Saturday night.

0:00:310:00:32

Singers, dancing stormtroopers and a dog were among the performers

0:00:320:00:35

battling for victory but who came out on top?

0:00:350:00:37

Here's what happened.

0:00:370:00:41

The winner of Britain's Got Talent 2016 is...

0:00:410:00:45

Richard Jones!

0:00:450:00:49

Nearly 10 million people watched Richard Jones

0:00:490:00:51

become the first magician to win Britain's Got Talent.

0:00:510:00:55

Thank you to all of the judges and everyone at

0:00:550:00:57

home who voted, it's been an amazing experience to spend time with such,

0:00:570:01:00

such talented people.

0:01:000:01:03

The soldier from Essex wowed the judges and the public with his

0:01:030:01:07

military themed act.

0:01:070:01:09

Wearing his army uniform, Richard's performance

0:01:090:01:12

featured a card trick

0:01:120:01:14

which told the story of Britain's oldest living magician,

0:01:140:01:16

Fergus Anckorn, who was also a prisoner of war in World War II.

0:01:160:01:21

Singer Wayne Woodward was runner up after

0:01:210:01:24

singing Nina Simone's Feeling Good in the final.

0:01:240:01:34

While dancing stormtroopers boogey storm took third place.

0:01:350:01:37

The show also included a special performance, marking the 10th

0:01:370:01:39

anniversary of the hit ITV show.

0:01:390:01:41

Past winners and popular acts, including dance group Diversity,

0:01:410:01:43

returned to celebrate.

0:01:430:01:47

Ten years of Britain's Got Talent.

0:01:470:01:49

Ten years of life-changing moments.

0:01:490:01:52

From all of us on stage tonight and all the acts across the years

0:01:520:01:55

to the Great British public, thank you so, so much.

0:01:550:02:01

But the night belonged to Richard Jones

0:02:010:02:03

who won a quarter of ?1 million in prize money and got a spot at

0:02:030:02:07

the Royal Variety Performance later this year.

0:02:070:02:12

Sticking with the winning theme, Real Madrid have won

0:02:120:02:14

the Champions League after beating local rivals Atletico Madrid

0:02:140:02:17

on penalties in Milan.

0:02:170:02:19

The final had to be decided with spot kicks after the match

0:02:190:02:22

ended 1-1 after extra time.

0:02:220:02:25

Juanfran was the unlucky player to miss a penalty,

0:02:250:02:28

leaving none other than Cristiano Ronaldo to step up

0:02:280:02:31

and secure Real's eleventh Champions League title.

0:02:310:02:36

Our team showed that we are more confident and we are more mature

0:02:360:02:41

because we didn't miss any penalties so we deserve it because we scored

0:02:410:02:44

all the goals.

0:02:440:02:46

Next, we've got two more champions - the winning author and illustrator

0:02:460:02:49

of the Children's Book Award - which is voted entirely for by kids.

0:02:490:02:55

The prize went to My Head Teacher Is A Vampire Rat and earlier,

0:02:550:02:59

writer and teacher Pamela Butchart told me the inspiration

0:02:590:03:02

behind the story.

0:03:020:03:05

I actually got a new headteacher when I was at primary school.

0:03:050:03:08

And when you get a new teacher, you are not always told

0:03:080:03:10

why the other one left so it's up to your imagination,

0:03:100:03:13

did they win the lottery?

0:03:130:03:14

Are they off on X-Factor?

0:03:140:03:15

Have they turned into a werewolf?

0:03:150:03:17

So there's a new headteacher and he turns up and he's

0:03:170:03:20

a little bit different and he has a very white face and red,

0:03:200:03:23

wormy lips and he says things like, "Good day."

0:03:230:03:25

Tom, you are the illustrator.

0:03:250:03:27

Yes.

0:03:270:03:28

And you came up with the drawings quite early on.

0:03:280:03:32

The first book, I had not read the story but I

0:03:320:03:34

had a rough idea of what it was.

0:03:340:03:36

But I needed to do a cover and I wanted

0:03:360:03:39

to put the characters on and so I had to design them.

0:03:390:03:43

But I had done some designs in my sketchbook,

0:03:430:03:46

I checked in with Pamela on what her ideas were and

0:03:460:03:48

strangely enough, they kind of matched.

0:03:480:03:50

Some of the characters are based on the pupils that

0:03:500:03:52

I teach, it's so much fun.

0:03:520:03:53

We are in class, they say something, then I will be

0:03:530:03:56

like, watch it, you will end up in one of my books.

0:03:560:03:59

One more question for you, the trophy, so what do

0:03:590:04:01

you think about it?

0:04:010:04:02

I spent yesterday just pulling these leaves backwards and forwards

0:04:020:04:05

looking at all the names of the people and Roald Dahl won this award

0:04:050:04:08

in 1981 or 1982 for Matilda, which was

0:04:080:04:10

one of my favourite books.

0:04:100:04:11

We give this back after a year to the new

0:04:110:04:13

winner but we each get to keep a little acorn from the silver tree

0:04:130:04:17

and we both got a bookmark which is a little leaf

0:04:170:04:20

from the silver tree so it's really special.

0:04:200:04:22

Now to something else that's special - this fossilised skeleton

0:04:220:04:26

of a massive sea reptile that lived 165 million years ago!

0:04:260:04:31

The ancient bones were discovered at a quarry near Peterborough

0:04:310:04:33

and have been carefully put back together by scientists,

0:04:330:04:37

who nicknamed the creature Eve.

0:04:370:04:40

This is a fossil of a plesiosaur which is

0:04:400:04:42

a reptile that lived in the sea

0:04:420:04:44

during the time of the dinosaurs.

0:04:440:04:45

It was a very unusual-looking animal, nothing like

0:04:450:04:47

anything we have alive today.

0:04:470:04:51

It would've had a really long neck sticking out the front, a sort of

0:04:510:05:01

bowel shaped body, four large flippers, the shape of wings almost

0:05:100:05:12

and a short tail at the back.

0:05:120:05:14

Engines at the ready, everyone, because Top Gear is back on our TV

0:05:140:05:17

screens tonight with some brand new presenters.

0:05:170:05:19

The big question people are asking is whether the new line-up can

0:05:190:05:22

live up to the success of Jeremy Clarkson and co.

0:05:220:05:24

Let's take a quick look at what we can expect.

0:05:240:05:26

Zero to 60 takes just 3.4 seconds.

0:05:260:05:28

This is not off-loading.

0:05:280:05:29

This is low-level flight.

0:05:290:05:34

Go!

0:05:340:05:38

Slow down, please.

0:05:380:05:40

Go out, go out!

0:05:400:05:43

Oh, sorry.

0:05:430:05:52

That's all from the TV team today.

0:05:520:05:53

Ayshah's back tomorrow morning at 7.40.

0:05:530:05:55

See you!
