Morning, everyone. | 0:00:04 | 0:00:05
Leah here with Thursday's Newsround. | 0:00:05 | 0:00:08
Coming up: We give you the lowdown on Fifa 17. | 0:00:08 | 0:00:11
And we find out why this chicken is wearing a jumper. | 0:00:11 | 0:00:16
Straight to last night's Champions League action, | 0:00:24 | 0:00:29
and where else to start but the six-goal thriller | 0:00:29 | 0:00:31
at Celtic Park, where Celtic claimed their first Champions League | 0:00:31 | 0:00:33
point with a draw against Manchester City. | 0:00:33 | 0:00:34
The hosts led twice in the first half, but City came back each time, | 0:00:35 | 0:00:39
Nolito rounding off the goals in the second half. | 0:00:39 | 0:00:41
3-3 the final score. | 0:00:41 | 0:00:43
Elsewhere, Arsenal cruised to a 2-0 victory at home against Basel, | 0:00:47 | 0:00:49
with both goals from Theo Walcott. | 0:00:49 | 0:00:51
The Gunners top their group after two games. | 0:00:51 | 0:00:55
On to football of the gaming kind now, and if you're a Fifa fan you'll | 0:00:57 | 0:01:00
know exactly what I'm talking about. | 0:01:00 | 0:01:04
Fifa 17 has been released, and with new attacking techniques | 0:01:04 | 0:01:07
and improved artificial intelligence, it's got fans excited. | 0:01:07 | 0:01:08
Here's Radio 1 Newsbeat reporter Steffan Powell with more. | 0:01:08 | 0:01:11
Instead of me telling you about it, why don't I show you how it's done? | 0:01:11 | 0:01:14
One of the main changes they've introduced this year is a thing | 0:01:14 | 0:01:17
called a driven shot. | 0:01:17 | 0:01:20
So you know sometimes when you are like one-on-one | 0:01:20 | 0:01:22
with the keeper and you do the finesse shot top corner, | 0:01:22 | 0:01:25
and it works every time? | 0:01:25 | 0:01:26
Well, now you have the option of doing a driven shot, | 0:01:26 | 0:01:29
hit it nice and low, bottom corner, straight at the keeper, | 0:01:29 | 0:01:32
whatever you want to do. | 0:01:32 | 0:01:33
A driven shot. | 0:01:33 | 0:01:34
You can also head the ball downwards, so whereas before your | 0:01:35 | 0:01:38
options when it came to heading have been a bit more limited | 0:01:38 | 0:01:41
than some of the other shots. | 0:01:41 | 0:01:42
Now when you get across, go on, Navas. | 0:01:42 | 0:01:44
Just blocked it. | 0:01:44 | 0:01:45
One of the biggest things you'll notice when you are playing | 0:01:45 | 0:01:48
the new Fifa is not necessarily how you're playing but how | 0:01:48 | 0:01:50
the players you're playing with a playing as well. | 0:01:50 | 0:01:55
They have changed the artificial intelligence, and so players make | 0:01:55 | 0:01:57
better runs, more different runs, so you are looking for options, | 0:01:57 | 0:02:00
it is easier to pass the ball. | 0:02:00 | 0:02:01
Sorry, I am just trying to make sure I don't concede a goal | 0:02:01 | 0:02:04
there. | 0:02:04 | 0:02:05
Oh, no! | 0:02:05 | 0:02:06
Phew. | 0:02:06 | 0:02:07 | |
Put it wide. | 0:02:07 | 0:02:09
Back to reality, though, and to football on the pitch. | 0:02:13 | 0:02:22
Former England captain Alan Shearer says England are the "laughing | 0:02:22 | 0:02:24
stock" of world football after manager Sam Allardyce resigned | 0:02:24 | 0:02:27
after just one game in charge. | 0:02:27 | 0:02:28
So, what can the team do to improve? | 0:02:28 | 0:02:30
And who should take over next? | 0:02:30 | 0:02:31
Kids in Bolton, where Sam lives, told us what they think. | 0:02:31 | 0:02:34
I think England as a team could get better by working | 0:02:34 | 0:02:37
together and passing more, and the could also work | 0:02:37 | 0:02:39
on the attacking strengths. | 0:02:39 | 0:02:40
They can work together as one nation and support each other through | 0:02:40 | 0:02:43
the new difficulties in time. | 0:02:43 | 0:02:46
I think Alan Pardew should be the new England manager | 0:02:46 | 0:02:48
because he already has a lot of experience of playing football | 0:02:48 | 0:02:51
and managing a team. | 0:02:51 | 0:02:54
I think David Beckham could be a really good manager, | 0:02:54 | 0:02:57
because he played for England, and he played for big | 0:02:57 | 0:02:59
teams like real Madrid, PSG and Manchester United. | 0:02:59 | 0:03:04
I think the next English manager should be Alan Shearer, | 0:03:04 | 0:03:06
because he is a great role model and he has very good experience. | 0:03:06 | 0:03:10
He could find the players' weaknesses and turn | 0:03:10 | 0:03:11
them into strengths. | 0:03:11 | 0:03:15
I think they have a good manager who can show | 0:03:15 | 0:03:17
them where the negatives are and where the positives are, | 0:03:17 | 0:03:20
and they can improve and get better. | 0:03:20 | 0:03:21
Now to the Maldives in the Indian Ocean, | 0:03:23 | 0:03:25
where more than 60% of coral reefs have been left damaged by pollution | 0:03:25 | 0:03:28
and rising temperatures. | 0:03:28 | 0:03:29
And it's a problem facing the rest of the world, too. | 0:03:29 | 0:03:31
Here's Naz. | 0:03:31 | 0:03:35
Clear blue seas and beautiful beaches. | 0:03:36 | 0:03:38
This is the Maldives. | 0:03:38 | 0:03:43
But what lies beneath the beautiful water is a different story. | 0:03:45 | 0:03:49
It should be full of these - bright, colourful, healthy coral | 0:03:49 | 0:03:52
reefs which fish live in. | 0:03:52 | 0:03:56
But climate change means we've had warmer summers, | 0:03:56 | 0:03:58
and now lots of the coral here is damaged. | 0:03:58 | 0:04:02
The Maldives is made only of corals, and if the corals won't survive, | 0:04:02 | 0:04:06
the Maldives won't survive. | 0:04:06 | 0:04:08
It's called coral bleaching. | 0:04:08 | 0:04:11
It happens when the water temperature gets a couple of degrees | 0:04:11 | 0:04:14
hotter than normal for two weeks or more. | 0:04:14 | 0:04:16
The coral changes colour to white, and it's left damaged. | 0:04:16 | 0:04:22
And it's not the only place in the world affected. | 0:04:22 | 0:04:25
Australia's famous Great Barrier Reef has had plenty | 0:04:25 | 0:04:28
of its coral reef damaged. | 0:04:28 | 0:04:30
Then there's Hawaii and Japan. | 0:04:30 | 0:04:32
These experts from Sea Life Centres in the UK and Germany have travelled | 0:04:34 | 0:04:37
thousands of miles to help the Maldives. | 0:04:37 | 0:04:41
We've just come back from the first snorkel of the trip. | 0:04:45 | 0:04:47
It's the first chance we've had to see the frames that were put | 0:04:47 | 0:04:51
in the water last year. | 0:04:51 | 0:04:52
It's not been great. | 0:04:52 | 0:04:53
There was some growth, so fragments were attached | 0:04:53 | 0:04:55
with the cable ties, and the corals have overgrown | 0:04:55 | 0:04:57
the cable ties, which is a good thing. | 0:04:57 | 0:04:59
Our contribution to the Maldives is 75 square metres of coral reef. | 0:04:59 | 0:05:02
It is the advancement of a project that is going to regenerate the reef | 0:05:02 | 0:05:05
after such a horrific bleaching event. | 0:05:05 | 0:05:07
It's hoped work like this will one day reverse some of the damage, | 0:05:07 | 0:05:10
giving fish here a healthy, happy home to live in once again. | 0:05:10 | 0:05:15
Thanks, Naz. | 0:05:22 | 0:05:25
Now to those chickens wearing knitted jumpers! | 0:05:25 | 0:05:26
For a long time, these battery hens have been living in cages and aren't | 0:05:26 | 0:05:30
used to being outdoors. | 0:05:30 | 0:05:31
They've now been rescued and rehomed by an animal charity, | 0:05:31 | 0:05:34
but they get cold quickly. | 0:05:34 | 0:05:34
Thanks to these knitters from Yorkshire, they're now feeling | 0:05:34 | 0:05:37
rather cosy in their new jumpers! | 0:05:37 | 0:05:38
And there's always enough time on Newsround for cute leopard cubs. | 0:05:39 | 0:05:42
They were born two months ago at a zoo in Beijing, | 0:05:42 | 0:05:44
and keepers say they're in good health with big appetites, | 0:05:44 | 0:05:47
feeding on their mum's milk while also enjoying eggs and beef. | 0:05:47 | 0:05:49
They haven't left their mum's side since being shown off to the public. | 0:05:49 | 0:05:52
That's all from me. | 0:05:52 | 0:05:56
Newsround's back with Naz at 4.20. | 0:05:56 | 0:05:58 |
