Hi, I'm Martin with your Newsround update.

:00:00.:00:00.

Ayshah finds out who inspires you in our aspirations survey.

:00:00.:00:10.

And the kick that sent Costa Rica into the quarter finals of the world

:00:11.:00:19.

cup. All this week we're talking about aspirations and what kids

:00:20.:00:21.

Maybe it's a top scientist or a premier league footballer?

:00:22.:00:27.

But there are concerns that not everyone gets the same chance to

:00:28.:00:32.

Some people are worried that black children aren't always getting

:00:33.:00:37.

the same opportunities as their classmates.

:00:38.:00:40.

They've pointed out that some have struggled to do as well

:00:41.:00:43.

as other kids in exams and that there are fewer people

:00:44.:00:45.

So, Newsround decided to investigate.

:00:46.:00:51.

We did a survey asking more than 1,000 kids from across

:00:52.:00:53.

the country from all backgrounds about their hopes for the future.

:00:54.:00:57.

When I am older, I want to be a model.

:00:58.:01:08.

When I grow up, I want to be a doctor,

:01:09.:01:11.

We asked whether the colour of your skin can affect what you

:01:12.:01:30.

One in five black children said they thought

:01:31.:01:35.

their skin colour would affect what job they could get in the future.

:01:36.:01:40.

Children from a black background were more likely to say they

:01:41.:01:43.

Although black children felt like they were the most ambitious,

:01:44.:01:48.

they also thought that teachers were less likely to describe them

:01:49.:01:52.

as clever compared with children from a white background.

:01:53.:01:57.

We have done the survey, got the results.

:01:58.:01:59.

Do these children agree with what we have found?

:02:00.:02:02.

I had a teacher who was the opposite race to me.

:02:03.:02:09.

Black children are still being judged and stereotyped.

:02:10.:02:19.

It would be difficult for us to do what we want to do when we're older.

:02:20.:02:26.

Exam results for black children have improved but

:02:27.:02:28.

there is still a gap between black children and other backgrounds.

:02:29.:02:32.

From the results in our survey, black children feel like there are

:02:33.:02:38.

still some obstacles which may stop everyone having the same chance to

:02:39.:02:42.

And Ayshah's back with another report tomorrow, this time

:02:43.:02:49.

interviewing a famous space scientist about why there are so few

:02:50.:02:55.

people from a black background in science at the moment, and whether

:02:56.:02:59.

that is changing. Next, after a day off yesterday, the strawberries are

:03:00.:03:03.

being prepared, the grass is being cut and players are getting ready

:03:04.:03:06.

for week two of Wimbledon. Jenny's there live for us now.

:03:07.:03:24.

It looks amazing. It is manic Monday at Wimbledon. The fans had been up

:03:25.:03:32.

early and they are queueing. They are ready to come in and watched

:03:33.:03:37.

tennis. The biggest shock of the tournament was on Saturday when the

:03:38.:03:43.

favourite and world number one Serena Williams was beaten. Her

:03:44.:03:50.

opponent was a bit shocked she won. A few years ago I could not even

:03:51.:03:56.

play on grass. And now I have beaten Serena Williams, the world number

:03:57.:04:00.

one. I have to realise it and then I will have to be ready for the next

:04:01.:04:03.

match because the tournament is not over. Today there is no shortage of

:04:04.:04:17.

big names in action on court. Of course, all eyes are on defending

:04:18.:04:24.

champion Andy Murray. He takes on Kevin Anderson from South Africa on

:04:25.:04:31.

the Centre Court at 3pm. Tell us more about Andy Murray 's opponent?

:04:32.:04:39.

He is six tall and has a huge serve. In his first match he hit 63 aces.

:04:40.:04:45.

Andy Murray has beaten him before in the Australian open but lost to him

:04:46.:04:49.

the year after in a tournament at Montr?al. Andy Murray has got

:04:50.:04:53.

through to the fourth round without dropping a set and he has had the

:04:54.:04:57.

whole weekend of said he could chill out and he should be really

:04:58.:05:01.

refreshed. The match starts at 3pm but I will be back at 4:20pm,

:05:02.:05:03.

bringing you all the latest. Staying with sport, here's your

:05:04.:05:09.

World Cup update. A late equaliser from Greece wasn't enough to stop

:05:10.:05:11.

Costa Rica beating them 5-3 on penalties and heading to the

:05:12.:05:14.

quarter-finals for the first time in their history. And it was a great

:05:15.:05:17.

night for the Netherlands as they came from behind to beat Mexico 2-1.

:05:18.:05:20.

Today sees France play Nigeria at 5pm and Germany face Algeria at 9pm.

:05:21.:05:23.

Music now. And over the last five days, 175 people have visited

:05:24.:05:26.

Glastonbury Festival in Somerset. And they've made quite a mess. It

:05:27.:05:32.

could take up to six weeks to get the site back to normal with a

:05:33.:05:36.

litter picking crew of up to 800 people trying to clean up after the

:05:37.:05:40.

festival-goers. This year saw performances from Rudimental, Ellie

:05:41.:05:43.

Goulding and Kasabian, but it was country Queen Dolly Parton who drew

:05:44.:05:46.

the biggest crowd. Ask your grandma.

:05:47.:06:00.
