Leah here live on CBBC with your Tuesday Newsround. | :00:00. | :00:07.
Coming up: We bring you the birds that could teach drones to fly. | :00:08. | :00:14.
And we'll show you what Pokemon burgers look like. | :00:15. | :00:16.
So our top story this Tuesday - air pollution in cities hasn't | :00:17. | :00:30.
improved enough over the last 20 years. | :00:31. | :00:35.
A new report by the Royal Geographical Society says | :00:36. | :00:37.
pollution caused by cars, buses and lorries makes the air | :00:38. | :00:40.
in some cities bad enough that it could make some people ill. | :00:41. | :00:43.
The Government says it's trying to reduce air pollution | :00:44. | :00:47.
but experts say more needs to be done to encourage people | :00:48. | :00:50.
The government has tried to encourage people to walk or cycle | :00:51. | :01:09.
but perhaps they have not been pushing it enough. | :01:10. | :01:12.
Ever wondered how birds manage to fly in | :01:13. | :01:14.
Well, a team of scientists in the US has created a special wind tunnel | :01:15. | :01:18.
BBC science reporter Victoria Gill went to see it. | :01:19. | :01:21.
Scientists have a lot to learn from this little lovebird. | :01:22. | :01:26.
How such tiny birds fly smoothly through gusty air | :01:27. | :01:28.
So scientists at Stanford University have built this. | :01:29. | :01:39.
We worked for four years to design this | :01:40. | :01:43.
It was put together specifically to study how birds fly. | :01:44. | :01:46.
We can use the best possible techniques. | :01:47. | :01:51.
Those techniques include cameras that film in extreme slow motion, | :01:52. | :01:54.
capturing tiny wing adjustments that keep the birds steady in the wind. | :01:55. | :02:01.
It is the latest ambitious experiment in a lab here in | :02:02. | :02:04.
California that is dedicated to unravelling the secrets of flight. | :02:05. | :02:08.
Diana works with these birds every day. | :02:09. | :02:10.
She uses clicker training and food rewards | :02:11. | :02:13.
so they will fly to wherever she points her finger. | :02:14. | :02:17.
The ultimate aim is the design of tiny flying robots like these. | :02:18. | :02:23.
By copying what birds do, engineers can build | :02:24. | :02:26.
much smaller, steadier robots that they could then send out | :02:27. | :02:29.
after a disaster to search for people who might be trapped. | :02:30. | :02:33.
So these scientists will aim to create robotic copies | :02:34. | :02:36.
of what nature has perfected over millions of years. | :02:37. | :02:43.
Sport now, and Manchester United's Wayne Rooney will stay | :02:44. | :02:47.
New England manager Sam Allardyce says it was an "easy decision" | :02:48. | :02:52.
And Big Sam's number one goalie, Joe Hart, has moved a step closer | :02:53. | :02:59.
to joining Italian side Torino on loan for a season. | :03:00. | :03:03.
He's fallen out of favour at Manchester City and he's | :03:04. | :03:06.
due to have a medical in Italy later today. | :03:07. | :03:10.
And thousands of people turned out for a homecoming | :03:11. | :03:12.
celebration to honour Ireland's newest sporting stars. | :03:13. | :03:16.
Paul and Gary O'Donovan won a silver in the rowing. | :03:17. | :03:18.
They got massive cheers and said they were overwhelmed | :03:19. | :03:21.
Now to the incredible Australian teenager whose become the youngest | :03:22. | :03:28.
person ever to fly by himself around the world in a single engine | :03:29. | :03:32.
54 days after taking off, Lachlan Smart arrived back home. | :03:33. | :03:43.
Crowds of people welcomed him at the airport | :03:44. | :03:47.
on the Sunshine Coast, eastern Australia. | :03:48. | :03:51.
It was from here on July 4th that the 18-year-old took off | :03:52. | :03:55.
And he now returns home a world record breaker, | :03:56. | :04:01.
almost a year younger than the previous record holder. | :04:02. | :04:07.
It's so amazing to finally be back here in my home town | :04:08. | :04:10.
in the Sunshine Coast and landing back on the runway | :04:11. | :04:13.
that I did my initial flight training on was just very special. | :04:14. | :04:16.
Lachlan travelled more than 24,000 air miles and stopped | :04:17. | :04:20.
at 24 different airfields around the world. | :04:21. | :04:25.
Starting on the Sunshine Coast in Australia, his first stop | :04:26. | :04:28.
He then made stops in the US, Canada and Europe, where he took | :04:29. | :04:33.
a week's break and visited family in London. | :04:34. | :04:37.
He continued his journey on to North Africa, the Middle East | :04:38. | :04:41.
and through to South East Asia, where he had some | :04:42. | :04:43.
But undefeated, he carried on his journey back home to Australia. | :04:44. | :04:49.
As well as breaking the record, he hopes his epic journey gets | :04:50. | :04:54.
When we are told we are too young, you are not good enough, | :04:55. | :05:01.
it's too hard, when with enough hard work you can get there and hopefully | :05:02. | :05:04.
I've started to prove that as an 18-year-old. | :05:05. | :05:06.
Two and a half years planning this trip around the world | :05:07. | :05:08.
After many hours of hard work, I'm trying | :05:09. | :05:13.
to prove the sky is not the limit so, yeah, dream big. | :05:14. | :05:16.
And finally, yes, it's breakfast but we promised you this one | :05:17. | :05:19.
This is what Pokemon burgers look like. | :05:20. | :05:22.
A restaurant in Sydney, Australia cooked up the creations. | :05:23. | :05:26.
There are also veggie options and it got lots of fans excited - | :05:27. | :05:32.
And there's just enough time to tell you what's happening over | :05:33. | :05:37.
Check out our pics from the weekend's Notting Hill Carnival. | :05:38. | :05:41.
Or if you want to exercise your brain why not have a go | :05:42. | :05:44.
That's all from me and the morning team. | :05:45. | :05:52.
Newsround's back with Martin at 4:20pm. | :05:53. | :05:57. |
