I'm Naz, and here's what's coming up on Friday's Newsround. | :00:08. | :00:11.
Niall from One Direction's new direction. | :00:12. | :00:12.
But first, one of the most epic and daring space missions ever has | :00:13. | :00:27.
The Rosetta spacecraft was the first to travel to a comet in space, | :00:28. | :00:33.
sending back thousands of amazing images. | :00:34. | :00:35.
Today, after 12 years, it ended its mission by deliberately | :00:36. | :00:40.
crash-landing on to the very comet that it had been studying. | :00:41. | :00:42.
It was a big moment for the scientists watching | :00:43. | :00:44.
at the European Space Agency HQ in Germany. | :00:45. | :01:00.
You have 300 people watching the signal and suddenly wasn't there | :01:01. | :01:09.
more, it eyed. There was a side of sorrow and then a spontaneous | :01:10. | :01:14.
standing ovation. There was no cheering, just clapping in | :01:15. | :01:18.
acknowledgement of the fantastic job that the spacecraft operations staff | :01:19. | :01:23.
had down. Absolutely superb. And then we saw the images. Amazing | :01:24. | :01:28.
images. The last one was five metres above the surface. Stupendous. | :01:29. | :01:34.
Well, scientists reckon that all the pictures and information | :01:35. | :01:36.
the spacecraft has sent back during its mission will keep | :01:37. | :01:38.
But Rosetta's 12-year space voyage hasn't been entirely smooth, | :01:39. | :01:41.
After launching in 2004, it took Rosetta ten years to catch up with | :01:42. | :02:13.
the super speedy comet. After such a long journey, the you would hope | :02:14. | :02:16.
things would not go wrong, but they did. In 2014, Rosetta tried to | :02:17. | :02:24.
attach a special space probe onto the comet. But instead, it ounce to | :02:25. | :02:29.
a few times and got stuck somewhere dark on the comet. Bad news for a | :02:30. | :02:36.
space probe powered by sunlight. With no sunlight, the batteries ran | :02:37. | :02:40.
out after just three days and it went into hibernation mode. Was this | :02:41. | :02:49.
the end? Not so. In 2015, it woke up from hibernation as the comet got | :02:50. | :02:53.
nearer to the sun and sent back lots of information to earth. And in | :02:54. | :03:01.
2016, the location of the probe was discovered, wedged in a dark crack | :03:02. | :03:07.
on the comet. Whilst this had been happening, the Rosetta spacecraft | :03:08. | :03:10.
was orbiting the comet. But now its journey has come to an end with a | :03:11. | :03:13.
bang, well, a crash. Well, it's also a bit | :03:14. | :03:16.
emotional for fans of Niall from One Direction, | :03:17. | :03:19.
who've had a big surprise. The star's dropped his first solo | :03:20. | :03:21.
single, called This Town. # Waking up to kiss you and nobody's | :03:22. | :03:32.
there # The smell of your perfume still | :03:33. | :03:37.
stuck in the air. # | :03:38. | :03:40.
This is his new track but doesn't sound a little familiar? | :03:41. | :03:45.
# And all these little things. # | :03:46. | :03:51.
It sounds and looks a bit like little things, don't you think? Both | :03:52. | :03:57.
black and white and there he is showing off he can play bigger task. | :03:58. | :04:02.
Look, there he is again with that guitar. And surprisingly, the one | :04:03. | :04:06.
Direction boys have only just heard it themselves. I presume they have | :04:07. | :04:12.
heard it now. When I saw them last I did not have a version of it to | :04:13. | :04:17.
play. They knew it was coming. Good news for fans, an album coming next | :04:18. | :04:18.
year. Prince George and Princess Charlotte | :04:19. | :04:21.
have been enjoying a kids' party in Canada, as they continue | :04:22. | :04:25.
their tour with their parents, Charlotte seemed quite taken | :04:26. | :04:27.
by the balloons and was heard speaking in public | :04:28. | :04:31.
for the first time - Her older brother George | :04:32. | :04:33.
joined in the fun too. He also had a ride on a miniature | :04:34. | :04:36.
pony. And While George has a miniature | :04:37. | :04:39.
pony, I give you 23 panda cubs. They've been shown off at a breeding | :04:40. | :04:42.
centre in China, where they work These cuties are all aged | :04:43. | :04:45.
between about one and four months, with some already able | :04:46. | :04:49.
to crawl a few inches. | :04:50. | :04:53. |
