Yes, we might be at the end of the series

but, friends, this is just the beginning of the stonking display

of Guinness World Records title attempts we have for you today.

Just riding bikes is so passe!

I'm off to France to meet a BMX-biking, trick-cycling dude

for a brand-new world record attempt.

Eat your heart out, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang,

there's a new flying car in town, and this one comes with friends.

And, after a whole series of gruelling record-breaking,

today, one of our Officially Competitive

competitors will be crowned ultimate champion.

But first, it's...

TRANSLATION FROM FRENCH:

Oh, Ben! Maybe you should start reading the scripts.

These are street style BMXers

and they're here to see a brand-new world record attempt

by professional stunt rider Remy Dunoyer.

Today, Remy is going for:

Ben, get changed, find Remy, and he'll explain.

Nose wheelies are very new in BMX.

-Nose wheelies?

-Nose wheelies are pretty new, yeah.

I, er, learned this trick and started to do many, many spins.

Everybody tell me it was very impressive and a very good trick,

so I think to make a new record with this one.

Let's check out the rules.

Only the front wheel of the bike can touch the ground.

If Remy or the back wheel touch it, the attempt is over.

Remy can move the front wheel with one foot only,

and for a spin to be valid, the bike

must turn a full 360 degrees.

To set a new world record, Remy needs 15 nose spins.

OK, well, here we are.

It's time for the talking to stop

and the BMX-treme record attempts to begin.

And it is extreme!

-CROWD CHEER

-Remy is a professional rider.

Don't try this yourself.

The time starts when Remy lifts his back wheel.

-KLAXON TOOTS

That's one full spin, 14 to go.

This is hard!

Balancing on one wheel and spinning the bike around.

Come... Argh! OK.

'Disaster! And a slow clap from me.

'He only did four spins.

'But Remy's not giving up on the dream.'

OK, so Remy's had one go.

Second attempt.

'15 nose spins. You can do it, Remy!'

Come on, Remy!

'Ooh, only three!

'He's going backwards. Come on, Remy!

'I've come all the way to France for this.'

This time, that's it, the crowd are getting behind him. Come on!

'He looks on record pace this time, if he can keep balanced.'

HE COUGHS

Hello and welcome to China

for a perilous record attempt

involving cars, motorbikes

and a complicated set of different sized ramps.

Because today, we are going to witness an attempt to break the...

..world record.

Really?

Apparently, Al knows what's going on.

Yes, I do.

This record involves different motor vehicles jumping off ramps

and flying through the air, all at the same time,

over and under each other.

That sounds ridiculously dangerous!

That's because it is.

And the Chery QQ stunt performance team will be attempting it

with four motor vehicles.

To get this brand-new world record

all four need to jump the ramps and cross over each other

in midair precisely

so they're almost stacked up on top of each other.

Preposterously perilous!

OK, here we go.

The drivers are ready.

The stunt boss is wearing trendy shades to look cool for the TV.

And the Chinese presenter has finally remembered

she needs an official adjudicator.

There she is.

How do you think the jumpers are feeling, Al?

Well, if any of them get it wrong, Haruka,

there'll be an enormous crash in mid air.

I should imagine they're feeling just fine.

Anyway, time to jump.

Wow! The Chery QQ boys all survived the jump, Al.

But did they cross in the middle?

No! They all jumped at different times, especially this car.

With no crossover, there's no record.

But I can confirm they are having a second attempt.

Come on, boys!

Will it be second time lucky?

This time the bikes have messed it up.

They crossed before the cars, so it's another fail.

They're jumping skills are perfect, Haruka,

but their timing is going wrong.

Let's cross live to the stunt co-ordinator for his thoughts.

THEY SPEAK IN CHINESE

Well, I can't speak Chinese, Haruka, but I can imagine he's quite annoyed

and he'll be having stern words if they don't get it right this time.

So, can they do it on the third attempt?

They've done it!

Four vehicles crossing over mid jump!

Incredible skills!

This year, in world-trembling scenes,

three record-breaking giants united from across the globe.

They came from the East.

They came from the West.

They stayed exactly where they were.

There's been drama.

Everybody's disqualified.

The destruction of world records.

And some things we should probably just forget.

We need to get some big chunks.

Sizzling Steve, US Ray and Mr Cherry, your time is now.

It's all come down to this,

the grand finale of the competition

where any of these young chaps could win,

apart from of course Sizzling Steve, who's just playing for pride.

Yes, today, we'll be racing space hoppers made for two

in a titanic tandem tussle.

First over the line wins national pride,

respect from all mankind, oh, and the chance to inevitably

choose to go third in the water balloon challenge.

This field is literally buzzing with excitement.

Hang on, where's Al?

I fell and bounced right off the course, Ben.

USA shamed.

Ha!

So, it's Japan versus the UK in the ultimate bounce off.

This for glory, this for pride.

Oh, Japan win again.

Yeah!

Er, photo finish?

Er, it isn't.

Well, I think it was close, Haruka,

look at that valiant dive by me at the end.

A valiant dive, but we'd crossed the line ages ago.

-BOTH:

-Team Japan!

Oh, all right, you win.

Which means Mr Cherry gets to decide whether to go first,

second or third in the water balloon challenge.

OK.

Third!

-Third.

-Hey!

-Oh, yeah!

And of course, Mr Cherry has chosen to go third,

giving him the advantage when our competitors

attempt to burst the record

for most water balloons caught and kept in one minute.

Who will claim victory in that pivotal balloon battle

and take the Officially Competitive crown?

We'll find out later in the show.

It is time to honour someone else with a glittering

Golden Shires award,

and today's category is for

Most Outrageous Endeavour In The Field Of Record Breaking.

The nominees are...

The Space Cowboy from Series One,

for his outrageous triumph in recording 117 consecutive

juggling catches with a chainsaw and two balls.

Don't try it at home.

Ha-ha!

CHEERING

Sam and Mark from Series Two,

for doing the most skips

wearing flippers in one minute,

especially Mark, because he actually

broke the World Record and didn't just embarrass himself.

-Unlike Sam.

-Ha-ha!

And Thore, Luai and Lasse

from Series Three,

for the outrageous skill of being the best in the world at removing

weird blue water from a glass with a straw whilst doing front flips.

Look at that!

Three very different endeavours,

but I'm sure you'll agree,

each one outrageous.

And the winner is...

Sam and Mark!

I'm not quite sure how skipping beats a man juggling with

an actual chainsaw

but it did!

This is Sam and Mark's first Golden Shires.

Last year, they famously had to settle for a BAFTA.

They were gutted.

Let's enjoy a small reminder of that record-breaking feat.

Listen, quite frankly, we were underwhelmed when our agent

called us and told us that we'd been shortlisted in this category

and then, when we were told that we won, we were simply lost for words.

Ah, hang on, it's not really your award, is it?

-It's my award.

-Mark, what are you talking about?

Well, if my memory serves me correct, I got the record

beating your pathetic attempt and taking all the glory.

You...you, my friend, you just looked ridiculous.

So, I'm going to take the Golden Shires trophy and I'm going to

put it in me house, next to my world record certificate.

Oh, rub that in, why don't you? Listen, it's my award too.

They said so. So I'm having it.

Back in the Officially Competitive bunker, the time has come for lunch.

No, hang on, the time has come for our heroes to contest

the prestigious title of Officially Competitive Champion 2015.

It's...

After 12 hard days attempting world records,

this is what the scoreboard looks like.

US Ray has won an incredible three and a half challenges,

including one official world record.

Mr Cherry has won an astonishing

four and a half challenges, including two world records.

And Sizzling Steve has won a spectacular...

three challenges with...

no world records.

Maths geniuses out there will have already worked out that,

even with a win today, Steve cannot be champion.

He's playing for pride and because he loves it.

But both Ray and Cherry are one win from glory.

So, it all comes down to today's final challenge:

And even though he might as well not be here,

Steve's facing this challenge with his usual enthusiasm.

So, I'm going to be the one throwing these balloons.

-Yes.

-You're going to be the one...

-Catching them.

-Supposedly.

I mean, I know I can throw, I've got that in the bag.

-Can you catch?

-Of course.

-What else have you caught?

-Loads of things.

And Steve remains the enigma we've come to revere.

My boy, US Ray, is much less complicated.

So, once you catch it, what are you going to do

so that you can have your hands free to catch another one?

I'm going to hold it like it's a baby and make sure I don't drop it.

-Your little water babies?

-That's right.

Let's do it. US Ray all day.

The problem with water babies is, like all babies,

they wet themselves.

But the mighty Cherry isn't scared of a bit of water.

So, when you were practising, did you get wet?

And how wet did you get?

-TRANSLATION:

-Urgh, me whole body were drenched, love.

I'd catch the balloons down here, so me undercrackers were soaking.

Ha-ha.

Soggy pants!

Stirring words. Let's get the rules.

There must be at least 3m between thrower and catcher.

Only balloons that are caught and kept without bursting will count.

And, most terrifyingly of all, the throwers - Haruka, Al and me -

must be blindfolded.

The record to beat is 20 balloons caught and kept in one minute.

Ray's up first.

Can he catch enough balloons to win the Officially Competitive title?

-Are you ready?

-I'm ready.

-You ready?

-I'm ready.

-SHOUTS:

-I can't hear you.

-I'm ready!

I think they're ready. Go.

Splashing start by Ray.

Ooh, but he's dropped a water baby already.

It slipped through his fingers.

'Wat-er' disaster!

See what I did there?

Ha-ha...uh.

Remember, he could still become Officially Competitive champion.

Go.

But not if he carries on like that.

That's a H20 no-no!

It's not looking good.

Little wide. Little wide. Straighter. No, no.

I think Al's catching expectations are too high.

Well, too high for Ray anyway.

'Well, the thing about being blindfolded is, you can't see!

Let's just hope the Sizzler is as good at catching things

as he thinks he is.

And an impressive hoarding technique there by Steve.

He's gone for the dangle.

It's a classic water balloon holding move, Haruka.

Steve's got a towel to dry his hands. Is that allowed?

No-one accuses the Sizzler of subterfuge on my watch.

And it's all gone wrong for Steve.

Time for Cherry to show him how it's done.

If Cherry can win this challenge, he will be

Officially Competitive champion outright.

Can he hold his nerve as well as enough water balloons?

He's a one-man water balloon catching and holding machine,

Haruka.

Everyone is in awe.

Except Al, who looks both confused and disgusted.

'He's catching and holding his way to victory, I can feel it.'

Or is he? Don't speak too soon, Haruka.

If only he had an extra armpit.

Oh, some chin action!

Back in the game!

Late drama!

He tried to catch one with his foot

and dropped another balloon in the process.

There was no need to take the risk this late in the game, Cherry!

And now he's silently beckoning a blindfolded lady.

Has Cherry lost it?

Are we looking at the contorted face of a champion?

Or has one of our other soggy supermen come close to the

world record of 20 balloons caught and kept?

Well, what an absolutely incredible final challenge.

All that remains is to get the results.

Now, Anna, tell us, was there a world record in there?

No, there wasn't!

-ALL:

-Ooh!

Well, never mind, cos there's still the all-important results to get.

Ray needs the win to draw level with Cherry.

Cherry needs the win to become outright champion.

And Steve should have won more ages ago,

but he'd still quite like to win today.

Who caught and kept the most balloons?
