the most explosive record attempts from all over the world.

Today, we're here in sunny California to watch these guys

try and slam dunk their way into the record books.

But before we get to that...

Our competitive heroes go again as we ask the poetic question,

"Are these guys able to make a dice stack stable?"

Some of your favourite CBBC faces take it in turn to become

the best at PEA-ing in a bucket.

Don't worry, mums and dads, it's not as it seems.

And this lady will try and break a record involving boomerangs.

I can't remember exactly what it is but I'm sure it'll come back to me.

First, though, back to Al in America.

For years, this show has made me look goofy.

Maybe even a little silly.

But not today, cos today it's basketball. It's my game, baby!

Oh, and it's Al Jackson! He is owning the court.

Nothing can stop the... TWANG!

Who left a life-size cut-out of Ben on the court?

Oh, I've been wondering where I left that.

I give up.

Let's just concentrate on the real reason we're here.

This could be our coolest ever record attempt.

Meet Acrodunk.

Founded by former Houston Rockets NBA Basketball mascot

Jerry L Burrell,

these acrobatically gifted b-ballers are the dons of dunking.

They're already multi-world-record-holders,

travelling the globe to inspire and entertain.

-I see Acrodunk...

-Yes.

-And it looks cool. And what is it?

A combination of acrobatics and dunking.

Hit off the trampoline, slam dunk the ball, do tumbling, flips,

dance, all that stuff, and make a great amazing routine out of it.

The record they're attempting today is...

Sounds pretty tricky. That's a front flip.

That's the pass off the backboard

and they've got to do that at least 15 times, and then end it with

a dunk within the 30-second time limit to set a new world record.

And, as you can see, even just the dunking part

of this is tricky enough.

Timing has to be impeccable.

If it's not right, not only will it ruin the attempt,

but someone could get hurt.

-Yeah?

-How would you feel, like,

-about a little shoot-out before we get started?

-Jerry, so we can get this over with quickly, I'm going to go first.

Let's get to the record. Here are the rules.

Only one basketball can be used during the attempt.

They must each do a full front flip before releasing the ball.

The team must end the attempt with a slam dunk

within the 30-second time limit

and the target is 15 passes off the backboard to set a new world record.

J-Skillz has joined me on the sideline,

along with official adjudicator Ben.

Three, two, one. KLAXON BUZZES

So much to get right here. Bounce, flip, pass, land and repeat.

15 the target, this is the first time it's ever been attempted.

Oh, no! Only five passes before it fell apart.

Can they even do this? So close, so close!

What did you see went wrong with that?

Fingertips, man. The ball came off the fingertips.

Upside down, fingertips, it's a little difficult.

But you know your boys. They're ready for another round, right?

-They're always ready for another round, man, always!

-All right.

A disappointing start for the Acrodunk boys

but they're not giving up without a fight.

While they prepare to go again, Ben,

Over the past few years on Officially Amazing

we've seen some true feats of human skill and endurance.

Yes, that was a man pulling a bus with his teeth.

I'm hoping that today will be no exception, which is

why I've come here to CBBC Live in NewcastleGateshead,

where I'm hoping to witness what will be the thrilling highlight

of this series of Officially Amazing, a record like no other!

'And it is...'

What is this? This is rubbish! Guys!

Pathetic.

Yeah, not exactly the challenge I'd hoped for.

But the good news is, if you have these items

you can play along at home.

You just move the dried pea from the plate to any container

you like, as long as there's a hole no more than two centimetres big

in the top of it. Simple.

And another simple game to play is spotting all my brilliant

pea puns, so get counting and see if you've got them all at the end.

Come on, Ben Shires moving peas, easy-peasy!

Yeah? Yeah.

-Feeling good?

..to see if they can set a new Guinness World Records title

of 27 peas or more moved in 30 seconds.

Peas, jar, jar, peas, peas, jar.

And, of course, we couldn't have a record attempt

without our competitive legends taking part.

They'll have their go soon enough but it's the turn of me

and my pals in Newcastle first.

Well, they're certainly eager.

-Are you ready?

-I'm ready.

So eager, they've forgotten the rules.

Got to have one hand behind your back, actually. Sorry, I forgot.

-Do you?

-Yeah. You can't be touching the straw to start off with.

-This is hard!

-And it can't just roll in, it has to be placed in.

In a-one, two, a-one, two, three, peas!

And we're under starters hors d'oeuvres.

Who can get 27 peas or more?

Nice. Slow and steady.

That's how it works.

Ooh, Johnny's missed picking up the pea completely.

Well, that sucks.

But so does having the pea and missing the target.

There's a hole in that if you need it, you know.

This is nice, it's a good rhythm.

'Ow! Go, Bobby!

'If you're trying this at home, rhythm and speed are key.

'Did anyone get 27 peas or more?

'No.

Oh, I'm so ashamed of myself.

My mum's going to be so disappointed, that's the main thing.

-I'm not going to be able to look her in the eye.

-Cheer up, Johnny.

It's not over yet. Can our competitive superheroes do it?

-Come on, you can do it.

'Oh, a strawful start for US Ray.

'Cherry's looking impressive.

'Steve's looking pretty quick.'

He's a machine.

'But Mr Cherry, he's in another league!

'Though we have sped that up a bit, he's ra-PEA-d.

'His technique will have Steve and US Ray pea-green with envy.

'Can they beat the target of 27 peas?'

Sizzle for me, Steve.

'Pea, two, one! They can do no more.

'Well, except watch official adjudicator Anna

'count them and wait.'

'So it's all down to Mr Cherry.

'Can our record-breaking big shot beat the target of 27?'

So, Cherry's done it, he's got the record!

And he's far too delighted to high-five me.

I'm a strong straw! Bang, pow-pow!

He's the new cham-PEA-on.

And that was my final pea pun, which brings the total to...

..eight pea puns. I'm a-PEA with that.

Right, without further ado,

let's return to Al in America for something...

-Ouch!

-'Part Two.'

Welcome back to sunny California,

where earlier we met the awe-inspiring Acrodunk.

They're hoping to gain a new Guinness World Records title

for the most front flips with a pass off the backboard...

Like this...and ending with a dunk, in 30 seconds.

Their target is 15 flips and passes within the time limit.

Their first attempt only went to prove how tough this challenge is.

But these boys aren't giving up without a fight.

They're back and poised to go again.

Three, two, one.

Focus.

-That first one down.

-That's one...

-Beautiful.

-Two, three...

Right, there we go.

Incredible! They've hit their rhythm and they're off to a flying start,

literally.

That's ten already.

Six more and a clean dunk within the time limit and the record is theirs.

There it goes.

Acrodunk's in the house!

Whoa!

That's a world record right there!

They look confident but only official adjudicator Ben knows the score.

Let's find out officially how you guys did.

So, the minimum requirement for this category was set at 15.

With that attempt,

-you achieved a total of 16.

-Yeah!

The boys are delighted!

A stunning attempt and a new world record

but how close were they to their 30-second time limit?

So, with that attempt you were only running for 22 seconds.

-What?!

-So you do still have some more time.

-We got eight seconds.

-We're going again.

-We'll go one more time.

-We want to break it.

All right. They want to break it. Wow!

They have a new world record but with eight seconds of unused time,

they want to go again in the hope of smashing it.

All right, let's keep that engine going. I'm going to count you guys

from three, two, one.

Acrodunk's next attempt looked great.

They were as fast and efficient as they could be.

And after the final dunk they were certain they'd done enough.

Good dunk!

Now that's a record right there!

But official adjudicator Ben did not

look as happy as everyone else.

And I confirm that a total of 21 front flips were performed.

However, unfortunately,

-the slam dunk wasn't completed within the 30 seconds.

-Mm-hm.

If you listen carefully, you can just hear Ben shout "Stop"...

-Stop!

-..before the final dunk.

Unfortunately, it doesn't stand as a new record.

Guys, you look winded.

Do you have energy for one more go? What do you say?

-That's a crazy question!

-All right, all right.

They must be exhausted but these guys have real dedication

and guts, and so they're going again.

I'm going to count you guys in from three...

two, one.

Their current record is 16 and they're off to a sensational start.

There you go!

This is their fourth attempt today, they must be beyond dizzy!

Focus, fellas, keep going!

Ten seconds left and the boys keep on spinning.

Five, four...

Oh, they need to dunk before the 30 seconds are up.

..three...

two...

-That's it!

-Amazing! No mistakes in the passing

and the guys are loving it. But was the dunk within the 30 seconds?

And, if so, have they beaten their own recent record of 16?

That looked unbelievable. Official adjudicator Ben, talk to me.

So, I can confirm that a total of 20 front flips were

made during the attempt and the time at which

the dunk was made

was 28 seconds.

And there you go!

It just goes to prove that if you work hard enough...

Guys, congratulations.

..and you want something bad enough, you'll get it.

Acrodunk, you are officially amazing!

Today, we're in China to see an amazing world record attempt

for the most rollerblading fluffy-hooded dancers.

This is going to be better than amazing. This...

PHONE RINGS Sorry. Hello? Oh, hello, Ben.

Oh. So, it's actually about boomerangs?

That can only mean one thing - it's Boomerang Girl!

This is Liu Dongdong and today she's going to attempt

the record for...

It's complicated, but this Chinese Ben lookalike will now explain.

I see! The target for the new record was set at seven.

And here's Liu's first attempt.

She got all seven up in the air,

but failed to catch the penultimate boomerang.

So, as you can see, it's not very easy,

but Liu was close and on her next attempt, so impressive!

Liu managed seven comfortably and bagged herself the record.

But that wasn't enough for Liu and she wanted to go again.

One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight.

Eight boomerangs!

In order to break the record she must put all eight

in the air at the same time and then catch them.

Three, two, one, go!

One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight.

It's a good job I'm counting, as you can hardly see them.

Will she catch them all?

She did!

That's amazing!

A new Guinness World Record achievement!

Oh, she's off, without her certificate or medal!

Thank goodness for her superpower that allows her to come back.

Now, from repetitiveness we move on to competitiveness.

Arrh!

Earlier on, we witnessed Mr Cherry claim another world record

using peas.

Now it's time for he, USA Ray

and Sizzling Steve to fight it out again.

Yes, that's right, we've flown Cherry, US Ray and Steve

to a secret record-breaking bunker in the UK to join me, Al and Haruka

and compete once more in a series of record attempts you can try at home.

This can only be...

Last time, Mr Cherry was the first to win in a chopstick jelly-eating

competition and he bagged himself a new world record in the process.

But how will he do in today's record attempt, and what is it?

Aaaggh! it's Officially Competitive time

and today's record is the succinctly titled...

Phew!

First, to decide the order in which our competitors would

take on the dice-stacking record attempt,

Al, Haruka and I competed in The Plank, a challenge in which

we had to hold our bodies in this position for as long as possible.

Al wimped out first, after just two minutes and two seconds. Pathetic!

You only lasted another 28 seconds.

-Yeah, well, I just wanted to let Haruka win.

-Nice try, boys.

I could have kept going all day, and my victory meant Mr Cherry

got to choose if he went first, second or third in the dice-stacking

record attempt and, wisely, he chose third, so he could

see how many Ray and Steve stacked, and know the number he had to beat.

But before they aim to achieve STACK-isfaction,

we spoke to the competitors to see just how confident they were.

How well do you know the back of your hand?

Like the back of my hand.

He shoots, he scores! Thanks, Steve.

So, while Steve's training involved staring at the back of his hand,

US Ray went for a very different approach.

-Well, I've been working on my ninja skills.

-OK.

So, blindfolding, not a problem. Stacking dice, not a problem.

-I'm going to use my right hand to stack, left hand to balance.

-OK.

Stack. Stack. Stack. My way, all the way to the record.

Well, then, let's do it.

US Ray all day, stacking dice! He don't play.

Nice rhyming, Al, but what will Mr Cherry's tactics be?

How are you going to do it?

Well, love, the key is to find a nook on the back of your hand,

like that, and line the dice carefully.

Anyway, it's more about...

dice to meet you...!

Quite! Let's get the rules.

Competitors must use one hand to stack on to the other hand.

They can't rest on the table or their leg or anything else

for support.

Only dice that remain stacked for a full five seconds after

the 30 seconds' stacking time has finished will count.

And the record to beat is 11 dice stacked.

US Ray is up first.

CHANTING: US Ray! US Ray! US Ray!

Either they are seriously big dice or Ray's got tiny hands.

Look! Sizzler's using his mind powers.

Well done, Steve!

Ray's got to start again. Not sure what happened there.

Choosing his dice carefully, he's still going for the big ones.

Nervous stacking from Ray here... What? He just stopped stacking.

He seems happy with three, even though the record to beat is 11.

Come on, man!

Stacking time up and official adjudicator Anna

counts the five seconds required for the dice to remain stacked.

And Ray's bagged himself a solid but underwhelming three.

Playing for the win, not the record, perhaps.

I like that you picked a number and you stuck with it.

It's a massive risk, but let's see if his gamble pays off.

Sizzler's up next.

WHOOPING

Ever the original, the enigma that is Sizzling Steve

has brought his own dice and his own box.

Yes, Steve has brought his lucky dice with him that he's used in

successful record attempts before,

and a box to put them on so they're higher, which makes them easier

to grab and closer to the stack!

Official adjudicator Anna allows this little bit of tactical genius!

Some people call him cool, I call him as cold as DICE.

On three, two, one, go!

Steve off to a confident start. Cherry watching intently.

Will his tactic of waiting and seeing

what the other two score pay off?

Sizzler stepping up to his special box now,

to be more level with his stack.

Stacking time's up.

He's got to hold that wobbly stack for five seconds.

Ooh, late drama here,

they fell at the last moment.

Will that attempt count?

Well, it certainly puts the pressure on Cherry. Remember, 11 to beat.

Three, two, one, go!

Speedy, confident, yet not without a trembling hand.

That's three, so he's matched US Ray. And one more makes four.

Can he now get more than eight?

Going for a fifth but, oh, he's lost it! He's got to start again.

Sizzler will be pretty happy if Cherry stops before eight.

Cherry is back up to four and he seems happy with that.

He must be hoping Sizzler's attempt was invalid.

Stacking done!

-Dice to meet you, to meet you...

-ALL: DICE!

All right!

How does he even know that reference?

Clearly, no-one got near the target of 11 dice,

so there's no new record today.

Now, it's all about national pride

and getting a point on the board for the win.

Steve badly wants a victory here.

He knows Cherry's four is enough to beat Ray.

Did Steve hold his stack for long enough?

And what about Cherry's Union Jack tights, are they legal?

So, in third place we have US Ray with three.

-Yeah!

-Team USA strangely celebrating last place there.

-OK.

-But today's winner is Steve with eight.

CHEERING

Cherry both shocked and disappointed,

but, yes, Cherry, eight is more than four.

The Sizzler has stacked his way to a sensational victory today,

matched only by his ludicrously over-the-top celebration.

And that is the most exercise he has ever done outside of

record adjudicated conditions.

Right, let's see what that does to the scores.

Cherry's jelly-eating triumph last time,

matched by Steve's dice-stacking victory today,

sees them on a point apiece, with Team USA still to score.

But there's plenty more competitiveness to come.
