Sylvan is five.

His family lives in a city.

He has two big brothers, Gabriel and Max,

and an older sister called Megan.

Along with Mum, Dad and two dogs, Baloo and Tooie.

I wonder what they're up to today.

Sylvan and his family are staying with Nanny and Grandad Dee Dee

in the countryside.

Morning, Sylvan.

Sylvan is up early. Mum helps him brush his teeth.

Sylvan is going to make breakfast for his family. Eggs, good idea.

What a lovely family breakfast.

And having eggs has given Sylvan an idea.

Sister Megan and Nanny are going to help Sylvan find more eggs.

So, where are we going?

Later today, Sylvan is having a picnic with his best friend,

Logan, and he wants to take some eggs along to eat.

Amanda, Nanny's neighbour, has chickens,

but have they laid any eggs?

Who's making all that noise?

Oh, there's Daphne, the cockerel.

-It woke me up two times in the night-time.

So, I'm holding her wings down, so that she can't flap.

She's really, really lovely and friendly.

She's a real sweetie.

cos then she feels safe.

Look at those big scaly feet.

She moves her feet when I tickle her.

Sylvan wants to find two eggs, one for him

and one for his friend, Logan.

Now, where would the chickens have laid eggs, I wonder?

-Let's have a look, is there one?

Yay, result! Brilliant.

That's one egg, where will Sylvan find another?

You could cook them both and have one for you

and Logan for the picnic that you're going to.

-On the way back, they bump into Dad.

-Then it's Mum's turn to admire the eggs.

-Wow! Oh, and they're still warm.

And you could colour them in and give Logan a surprise,

-coloured-in, hard-boiled egg for his picnic.

-Yeah!

Before Sylvan can draw on the eggs, they have to be boiled.

Put it to 15, ready?

Oh, there's five, there's ten,

there's 15.

And when that goes bing, that'll be ready, OK?

I think the boiling eggs are done.

Mum checks the eggs are cool enough for Sylvan to draw faces on,

as a surprise for his friend, Logan.

He looks a very smiley egg. Is that for you or Logan?

Into the little house.

Eggs ready and Sylvan is off to meet Logan.

There's Logan, waiting with his mum.

Hi, Logan. I've got chocolates in here.

The chocolates are for later.

First, Logan's mum has brought something for the boys.

Sylvan and Logan head for the stream.

And the mums are close behind to make sure they're safe.

Careful with the tub, Logan.

The boys have had no luck from the side of the stream.

Trousers up. Right, now, we're going to walk this way.

There's nothing in the stream to catch,

so it's time to dry off and have a picnic.
