Honu has a big surprise waiting for him.
A new bike!
Ah! Look, Hon! Was this the colour you wanted?
-The dinosaur one!
Just sit on it, Hon. Sit on and get comfortable.
Now, this is very...very important. Let's put your crash helmet on.
It's Honu's first time on a bike with two wheels.
I'll push you and you pedal along.
Pedal hard. Keep going. That's it. Pedal, pedal.
-He'll need help to begin with.
Steer and pedal. Pedal.
The trick is to keep the bike moving.
Pedal. You're not pedalling.
-Keep your feet on those pedals.
-Pedal. Don't forget.
-Don't ever stop pedalling.
-I've got you.
-I've got you.
Pedal. Look, balanced. Look!
-You're going all by yourself. Look.
Pedal. Look, balance. Look!
Keep going! Good on you! Well done! Good!
-Shall I show you how to do it, Hon?
-Let me show you.
Grandpappy, I think you may be a little big for this bike.
-You fell off it!
-It's not so easy, is it?
Grandpappy's OK. He's just pretending to fall off.
-Can you do that again?
-It's a bit small.
-Do that again.
-I'll try again.
Oh, Grandpappy! He's only joking.
Are you all right, Grandpappy?
-Oh, I'm OK.
-Grandpappy, do that again.
It's too small. One last go.
We'll just take either side.
With a bit of practice,
it's not long before Honu is ready to ride on his own.
And Mum's taking him to a quiet road with no traffic.
-Honu is looking much steadier on the bike.
I've done it fast!
-Again! Again! Again!
-Do you like riding your big boy's bike?
-Fantastic. Do you want to keep going?
Excellent! All the way around?
Wow! Very good!
Look at him go!
Now that Honu can ride properly,
he'll have lots of adventures on his bike.
-Come on, let's go home now.
