The Mega Ambo Pop Slam!

We've seen nine pop slams this series.

It's now time to have a look back at the best bits from all the shows,

plus some unseen treats.

I'm Amberley Lobo and this is Pop Slam!

Going into the Pop Slam ring, we've got...

..all our stars.

Out of 18 acts, there were eight winners

and one slightly awkward draw...oops!

All were awesome, but who had the most awesomeness?

I'm going to be picking out

my favourite pop-tastic moments from the series

to see who has what it takes

to be crowned the ultimate Pop Slam Champion

and take home this little beauty - the MEGA AMBO.

OK, I know it's just a normal Ambo

and I might have glued some wings on it, but that's not the point -

who wants this?!

There's only one way to get your mitts on the Mega Ambo,

and that's by proving you're the ultimate pop star -

a dream mix of determination, incredible chart success

and stand-out pop style.

But which of our acts has what it takes to get the Mega Ambo?

There's only one way to decide - warehouse party!

Jokes - it's time for the daddy of all Pop Slams.

Round one is all about how our pop slammers

got started on the road to stardom.

Over the series, I travelled across the UK and America,

meeting some pretty amazing people

and unearthing some pretty incredible stuff.

But nothing was more cool than in the Rita Ora vs Vamps slam,

when I somehow managed to convince

Brad the lead singer's sister Natalie

to let me into his house.

Cheryl obviously sings and does these dance moves.

Is that quite hard?

Yes, because you have to concentrate on two things at once.

I know, I'm struggling to ask you questions and do these dances -

I don't know how she sings and does them!

This is too hard - if I have my own music video,

I'm totally just doing the running man.

Michael didn't do too well with me,

but he made Cheryl a mega-dancer.

Being a great pop star is not all about dancing, though.

What's your favourite thing about Taylor, as a coach?

What makes her really easy to coach and fun to work with?

I mean, she is really focused,

hyper-focused, but when she gets something,

when she does something, you just see her face light up.

And that she really, truly is excited about her voice.

What were your lessons like with Taylor?

It's a workout - it's not uncommon for people to sweat,

while sitting down, just doing the vocal exercises,

because they're so intense, and her focus...

You see, it takes more than talent to win Pop Slam!

You need dedication and hard work.

And that's exactly what round two is all about.

Round two looked at the incredible effort our stars

put into staying big -

an endless schedule of touring, making videos,

recording albums, writing songs,

collaborating...whatever it takes

to keep them at the top of the charts.

One thing our megastars all have in common

is they've worked pretty hard to build a loyal fan base,

and I've heard some stories of pretty committed fans.

Who would do that?

Wait, is that Harry Styles?

Harry! It's Ambo! I've e-mailed your agent a thousand times!

FANS SCREAM

When the acts from Pop Slam! go on tour,

it feels like the whole world comes out to meet them.

But sometimes, fans go a little bit too far,

as Liam Payne from One Direction found out.

When the boys were on tour in Australia - great place -

one mega fan climbed Liam Payne's balcony

and stole his actual underwear.

Now, I wasn't there, but I knew Australia

and I'm pretty sure it went down a little something like this.

-IMITATES LIAM:

-"Hi, my name's Liam Payne

"and I'm from...uh, what band am I in? I forget.

"No, I don't - I'm from the biggest band in the world, One Direction.

"Anyways, going to have a nap,

"I might just leave my lucky underwear there -

"I know they're around here somewhere.

Look, I'm not 100% sure that's how that went down,

but it's a great story.

Pop fans can be pretty full-on, sure,

but rock group Paramore don't care.

In fact, they even invite theirs into the studio.

# I waited eight long months

# She finally set him free

# I told him I couldn't lie... #

When I was in America, I decided to find out

what it takes to qualify as a Paramore super-fan.

For their second album, Paramore ran a competition

where fans could win a chance to sing on their record.

Cue mass hysteria amongst Paramore fans.

They entered lots and lots of videos online of themselves singing

and the winner was Mary Bonney from Virginia -

and we just so happen to be right outside her house.

This is Mary's winning video.

She's singing Paramore's catchy track, Whoa.

'It won her a chance to spend a day with the band in the studio

'and I was so keen to get all the goss.'

Mary, not going to lie,

I'm devastated I wasn't involved in this competition.

Tell me everything - how did it go down?

So, the best moment was when Hayley first walked in the room.

She walks in, she's really friendly,

she's like, "Hey, Mary!"

And the fact she knew my name from the video...

She was like, "I loved your video, it was so funny."

I'm like, "You're great, you're amazing. You're so great."

So Mary was living the dream and hanging out with her favourite band

before getting down to business

and recording the backup vocals for the song Born For This.

There's me and my sister and all of them

and we're, like, yelling at these backing vocals

and it was just...it was great.

And chilling with Hayley and the band

wasn't the end of the amazingness.

When the CD came out, if you look really closely in the liner,

you can see "Born For This, additional vocals, Mary Bonney",

and then my sister, Kate Bonney.

So I'll always have that.

And before I left, I couldn't resist asking Mary

to recreate her winning video with a Pop Slam twist.

All this creativity got me thinking - you know what?

I want to be in a music video.

So when I was in LA, I was like, "Let's do it."

Will.i.am's band, The Black Eyed Peas

shot their video for humungous 2003 hit Where Is The Love

in their home city of LA.

Great video, but lacking shots of me -

see if you can see the bits that I've added.

I think you'll agree, it's much better.

So you've made it big.

And that's exactly what round three was all about.

When you spend as much time on the red carpet

as the stars of Pop Slam! do,

you have to watch what you wear.

If you want to get your hands on the Mega Ambo,

you need to make sure your style always stays fresh

and you keep everyone guessing about what we'll see you wearing next.

Our acts knew how to rock some serious style

and I can totally relate to that.

During the series, I was lucky enough to get secrets

from some of the top stylists in the industry

and I even got to try on some of their clothes.

On my travels, I found how to dress like it's "Saturday" every day.

This is Mollie's belt.

Yep, you heard it - I was lucky enough

to try on Mollie King from The Saturdays' actual belt.

it reflects on the shiny, glossy surface.

who's gone from geeky bedroom DJ to ultra-LA cool.

who's morphed from dressed down country girl

into red carpet regular.

No-one rocks red lippy and blonde hair like Rita

And she's just as likely to be snapped on the catwalk

as she is on stage.

Number two, it's Arctic Monkeys,

who left behind their hoodies and baggy jeans

for sharp suits and retro-cool hair.

But my number one style superstar

has got to be Princess of Pop Katy Perry -

no look is beyond this girl.

I mean, if you can get away with wearing a box on your head

and still look cool, you get my vote.

Will it get her the Mega Ambo?

Wow...it must be SO cool being mega rich and famous -

the houses, clothes, cars, pools, personal trainers.

But for some of our celebrities, this isn't enough

and they have to do things a little bit differently -

and I'm not going to lie, that can sometimes mean "weird".

So I thought I'd put together

our ultimate Pop Slam day off - here we go.

OK, we start our day with a quick jog along the beach -

probably LA, somewhere nice like that.

We might see Ellie Goulding,

who totally loves to work off the cobwebs.

Ellie runs six miles a day, every day, since she was 18.

That adds up to around 21,000 miles,

which is like running around the earth once.

Amazing!

Then we jump on our retro motorbike, like the Arctic Monkeys use,

to zip around Los Angeles

and head into the studio for some serious hit-making.

"Neeeooow!"

Then it's more exercise, out walking all nine -

yes, NINE - of the Saturdays' dogs. Don't believe me?

Firstly, there's Vanessa, who has Peaches, a Pomeranian,

and George, the little toy poodle.

Then there's Rochelle, who also has a Pomeranian called Tiger

and a Yorkshire called Pudding.

Then there's Una, who has Bono the terrier

and Jackson the Jack Russell-cross-pug.

And it keeps going!

Frankie also has two dogs. She has Presley the pug

and Pixie the Chihuahua.

And last, but not least, Mollie - and, thank goodness,

she only has one dog, a little Maltese called Alfie.

All I'm saying is I would hate to be on their tour bus,

cos it would stink.

After all that on our Pop Slam day off,

it's time for lunch with Rita Ora.

She's obsessed with covering everything in hot sauce -

even bananas.

How hot can it possibly be?

Get in my belly.

Mmm...mm...oh...ooh...

I think I better wash that down

with a nice cup of tea with the Rizzle Kicks.

They love tea so much, they wrote this song about it.

Next in our Pop Slam day off, we need to get home

and it's a toss-up between Taylor Swift's jet

and will.i.am's custom-made, £500,000 car.

Space for another one in there, Will?

And after a day like that, what better way to relax

than admiring Taylor from Paramore's garden gnome collection?

Ah, yes - what an amazing life it would be.

deserves the ultimate prize in pop, the Mega Ambo?
