Nevar and his Demons grow stronger Raven

Our land is in danger.

The evil sorcerer Nevar and his foul demons have found

a way to escape the desolate realm that imprisons them,

and are seeking to conquer ours.

Only the one true protector of the land

can find the warriors to save us.

My name is Raven.

And I seek the true warriors.

16 of the bravest and most worthy have answered my call.

Which of them will conquer the challenges?

Who will reach the grand tournament and been named as a true warrior?

RAVEN CAWS

After a night beneath the stars, these four warriors must continue

the grand tournament and their quest to become a true warrior.

Though all of them have proven to be worthy warriors,

at the end of today,

whichever warrior has the lowest number of rings will return home.

Let us see what will become of them.

As we head into today's challenges, Nantin is proving that she is a

courageous and agile warrior.

She leads her fellow warriors with 12 golden treasure rings.

Janra follows second with nine.

Cersage has seven.

And Larsai is trailing behind the others with six.

There are still four challenges ahead of us this day,

so let us see who wins the rings they need

to go forward at the sun setting.

The night passed without incident.

But though Nevar's demons have not found us,

that does not mean that your quest is free from hazard.

To become a true warrior,

you must understand the dangers of Nevar's magic.

If an unwary warrior were to tread this land unprotected,

they would not be long for this earth.

But cross it you must if you are to collect the golden treasure rings

you need for this quest.

Two of you in turn will be cocooned inside an orb of magic.

You must propel these through the archways you will find here.

For each one you pass through, you will gain a golden treasure ring.

But even my magic cannot last forever against these curses.

So your time will end when the first warrior returns safely.

Only that warrior will hold on to the rings they collect.

Warriors, are you ready to brave this land?

Cersage and Janra are first to take on this cursed land.

Cersage is in the blue orb and Janra is in the red.

Powering through this first archway, Janra has taken an early lead.

Does he have the stamina to hold on to it?

Winner takes all in this race.

One ring is rewarded for each archway passed.

The defeated warrior will take nothing.

Three archways down.

Can Cersage pull it back?

Fatigue seems to be setting in for Cersage

as Janra closes in for victory.

Whoo! Yes!

HE PANTS

When I crossed the finish line, I was so tired.

It was really hard just to run, and just before you start,

your legs are just shaking,

and it's so hard to stand without falling over.

Feeling really happy -

seeing as yesterday I didn't do as well

as I wanted to in the challenges,

but today I think my confidence has just gone up a level higher.

When Janra went in front of me and took the lead,

I lost my momentum, and I was really tired.

I just couldn't do it.

Come forth, Nantin and Larsai.

Nantin is powering ahead in the green orb,

and Larsai follows in yellow.

Larsai has fallen.

Stand, have courage, for Nantin is racing ahead.

Both warriors seem to be tiring,

but Nantin is only one archway from victory.

And Nantin is triumphant.

WOLF HOWLS

The orb race was quite difficult, because you have to be in the

orbs and, like, move around a lot,

and you have to be careful where you're going.

Halfway through, I got kind of stuck and I got worried I wouldn't win,

but I just pulled through all my confidence and won.

I thought Nantin was going to win.

She's very good at physical challenges.

So well done to her.

Winning their races has proven very rewarding for Nantin and Janra.

They each gain a haul of five rings.

The curses Nevar has cast over this land are like no other.

His magic was too strong for Cersage and Larsai.

Their defeat means they take no rings from this challenge.

Nevar's magic has not snared us yet,

but it has delayed us long enough that he has had the chance to send

his evil creatures ahead of us.

Your way ahead lies along the river,

where there are now demons lying in wait.

To pass them, you will need to navigate the obstacles before you.

To tempt you into trouble, Nevar has hung golden treasure rings

above these raging rapids.

Each ring you can add to your hoard, but be warned,

touch the hanging skulls and you will lose a ring from your hoard.

Warriors, are you ready to risk the River Slalom?

I'm good at navigating, and I'm quite small,

so I'll be able to dodge the skulls.

I'm a bit nervous about this challenge,

but I'm going to collect enough rings to stay in the lead.

Wisely spoken, warriors.

Now, let the challenge...begin.

Cersage is first to take to the water.

The warriors face the choice, race to the end for the final ring

or take their time to collect more rings along the way.

A ring is taken and the skulls navigated safely.

The river has dragged Cersage beyond the second and third rings,

so she is heading for the ring on the far bank - a risky tactic.

Cersage has claimed a second ring.

But now she has encountered difficulty.

The sands are running thin.

The third ring from this warrior's hoard and the time is run.

I got the first ring, which I was really happy about,

because that was the one where you were meant to stand up.

I got three rings and I'm really happy with it.

Woohoo!

Janra is next to face the River Slalom.

Good balance has earned this warrior his first ring.

Janra is showing great power with the oar.

Fighting against the current, he claims his second ring.

A third ring is claimed.

Can he gain all seven on offer?

Janra gets his fourth ring,

but has he got enough time left to complete the course?

Janra is showing great skill.

By paddling backwards, he is closing in on his fifth ring.

A sixth ring is taken, but time is running low.

Can this warrior claim the final seventh ring,

and round off a perfect performance?

But at the crucial moment,

Janra has knocked the skulls and loses a ring.

The River Slalom was really exciting for me, because the seventh ring,

I couldn't really reach it, so I had to sort of jump off the board,

and the board was quite wobbly, so as I jumped,

it just dipped in the water. And I just couldn't reach it.

No!

Larsai, the river and its gold awaits.

Get two rings, that's all I need.

A good start, he has claimed the first two rings.

It seems this warrior does not want to risk taking the outer rings.

Oh, no. No, no, no.

No, no, no, no, no.

Larsai has steered off course.

Come on.

Can this warrior claim the final ring?

It was like ice when you first go in.

Once you're in there for a couple of seconds, it gets better.

I decided to go for the higher ones and I got two rings,

and I'm very happy about that.

Last up in this challenge is Nantin.

She comes perilously close to touching the skulls,

but manages to claim the first two rings.

A third ring, but you must hurry, warrior.

The current has trapped this warrior and the sands are running out.

With time against her, Nantin has decided to head straight for the

final ring, but she is dangerously close to the skulls.

With a great display of agility, Nantin has claimed her fourth ring.

At the end, I was quite stuck in one part,

so I had to just go for the last ring.

But I still got four rings - that means I'm still in the lead. Yes!

After the second challenge of the day,

Nantin remains in a strong position and holds her lead.

The four rings she collected takes her total to 21.

Janra has paddled his way to within touching distance,

adding five rings - taking his total to 19.

Cersage increase her total by three.

And Larsai by two.

These warriors are locked in a battle, as one of them will leave

the quest at the end of today's challenges.

Warriors, only two more challenges remain today

before we see who must leave us,

and things have rarely been so dangerous.

Nevar has sent a host of his demons to block our path.

But if we can escape them here we should find safety for now.

While Nevar has twisted much of this land's magic to his evil purpose,

some good magic remains.

Here is an ancient artefact that will help us in our quest.

The statue here before us is an ancient warrior

transformed to stone by Nevar's pernicious sorcery.

But his evil spells may now be his undoing.

For within this petrified warrior a spirit still lives.

The despicable creature here will seek to destroy the statue.

Warriors, you must work together to build a wall to stop the demon from

destroying the statue.

Now, are you ready to face this challenge?

I'm confident that I can use my skills to build a wall

to stop the demon.

I think I have some good tactics for this challenge,

so I'm quite confident with it.

Nantin and Cersage are first to prepare the defences.

Instead of, like, a wall, this...

Are these warriors spending too much time planning?

-Two.

-And then like this.

-The demon's coming, quick.

-OK, Quickly.

Yeah, like that. That's brilliant.

But we have to make it really high.

These warriors are working well together.

OK, we've still got a bit of time until the demon comes.

So maybe I'll take away...

The demon approaches.

-The statue...

-No...

Your time is running out, warriors.

Is this good? OK, maybe make it a bit more structured.

Around, kind of...

Come on, this way.

-OK, are we done?

-Yeah.

Now the demon will make its assault.

The first attack.

Yes, look, it's going to fall onto the side.

Well, that's brill.

That's uno done.

The second swing.

One remains.

-Wait, we're going do this.

-We can do this!

This is going to work.

-We did it.

-Yes!

The warrior stands. The demon is defeated.

Cersage and Nantin are each rewarded with a ring.

Nantin and I worked really well as a team

because we had the same kind of tactics

and we communicated very well.

It felt amazing to win this challenge

because it's just extra chances to get more rings.

I'm so happy that we did.

Yes!

Larsai and Janra, prepare your defences.

-Be careful.

-Right.

-Move it further away.

Do it a bit further away.

The warriors must move swiftly if their wall

is to be built in time.

-No, just like that.

-Yeah, yeah.

-On each end, put one vertically. Put one vertically on each end.

-OK.

The warriors are communicating well.

But communication alone will not win this challenge.

-We need to cover his head.

-Yeah.

The demon is approaching. You must hurry, warriors.

-The wall has partially collapsed.

Is this the first sign of an unstable structure?

Nevar's servant will have three chances

to destroy the stone warrior.

The statue must stand complete at the end of the attack

if the warriors are to escape unharmed.

With one swift attack, the demon has defeated these warriors.

Janra and Larsai, at the cost of a ring each,

I bring you back from Nevar's realm.

We decided to build around the sides and the front

and we overlapped the bricks.

What went wrong was that we built the wall too close to the warrior.

The wall fell.

It knocked the warrior over, not the wrecking ball.

Cersage and Nantin's warrior's wall

sees each of them add one more ring

to their totals.

For Larsai and Janra,

it's not such good news.

Their wall was breached

and their stone warrior demolished.

They must each sacrifice a ring

from their hoard.

Larsai is now perilously close

to leaving the quest.

RAVEN CAWS

As the warriors rest before their next challenge,

I summon Raven Of Old.

Wise one, I summon you.

Raven, I have learned of Nevar's plans at The Last Stand.

The challenges are now set above a cursed lake.

And for every one the warriors complete, they will earn a talisman.

But they must gain a full set of these

if they are to open the portal at the bottom of the lake.

-Thank you. I will warn them.

-Do.

And tell them that Nevar himself will be waiting there.

He has used much of his magic in constructing this challenge.

So if he is defeated, he will be weakened.

The warriors will be ready to face this when the time comes.

RAVEN CAWS

May the luck of the Raven's Eye be with you.

I must hurry and pass Raven Of Old's news on to the warriors.

From river ambushes to cursed ground,

Nevar's evil magic has gripped this land.

And though our brave warriors have kept many parts free,

others are full of his foul creatures.

GROANING

If we are to make our way across the land ahead,

then we must use the magic of the Stones Of Destiny.

You will see before you a set of prism staffs,

all of different lengths.

You must set the staffs into the standing stones

to guide the beam of light across the Stones Of Destiny.

The challenge awaits. Are you ready to face it?

I feel confident so I'm going to give it my all.

Warriors, stand ready.

Now let the challenge begin.

Nantin is first to take on this challenge.

The prisms must be set at the correct height to activate

the stones' power.

Each prism has a staff of different height.

The longest staff will only fit into one stone,

while the shortest will appear to fit them all.

Yes!

The final prism must be placed.

Yes!

The prisms must be aligned, warrior.

Yes!

Excellent work, warrior.

The stones are activated.

HOWLING

I feel amazing to have won the challenge

because I got all of the rings

and I'm so happy that I did it.

Janra is next to take on this challenge.

The sands are running, warrior.

There is only one solution to this puzzle.

It is easy to identify if the staff is too long for the stone...

..but spotting a mistake with the shorter staffs

is much more difficult.

The stones are confusing this warrior.

Janra must hurry as time is short.

Janra is defeated.

Janra must forfeit a ring

if I am to use my magic to bring him back.

To start with my tactic was just to pull any random one out

and try it in all of them.

But then towards the end, I realised that the shortest ones

would fit any of them.

I really wanted to beat Nantin as she was ahead of me,

but sadly I didn't.

Cersage steps forward to take on this challenge.

Speed, memory and clear thinking are key to solving this challenge.

Cersage must work quickly if she is to solve this puzzle.

This warrior is truly resourceful.

The stones are activated.

I did it! I got all the rings!

Winning this challenge feels brilliant

and I have the chance of getting

an advantage in the grand final.

Larsai is the final warrior to take on this challenge.

Larsai is demonstrating good speed.

But can he position all of the staffs correctly?

Once more, the stones are activated.

I felt that I really excelled in this game.

I haven't won one recently so I'm very happy that I won this one.

Warriors, we have reached the end of the second day

of the grand tournament.

Each of you has worked valiantly to earn your place

and to challenge for the chance of being named a True Warrior.

But now is the point where one of you must end your quest

and return home.

Nantin, you are ahead of your comrades

and will lead them into the third day.

Janra, you have done well with 17 rings.

Cersage, you have known danger

but gathered the rings you need to stay on this quest.

You will continue on into the third day.

Larsai, I'm afraid that this marks the end of your quest.

You have proven yourself a worthy warrior.

Go home to defend your land with honour.

the treasure rings you need

ahead of The Last Stand.
