Saffron here and this week they've given me my very own Style Download.

I've come all the way to Yorkshire to surprise Larissa,

who needs help planning for that all-important school disco.

Hi. I'm Larissa, I'm ten and this is where I live.

I live here with my mum, Darren and my little sister Isabelle.

The school disco's coming up.

I want to make it really special, but I don't know how.

Larissa's been really looking forward to this gala disco.

It's all she's gone on about.

She's really excited, so it's got to be really special.

I've been to a few school discos in my time,

so I know what I'm talking about.

I'd better go and surprise her and give her a few tips.

Hi, Larissa! Hello!

SHE LAUGHS

Hi, Larissa! I'm Saffron. I'm here to help you plan for your party.

-Is it OK if I come in?

-Yes.

-Cool. OK.

OK, tell me about your problem.

Well, I've got a school gala disco coming up

and I want it to be really special, but I've no idea how.

OK. Well, I think we can come up with the perfect outfit

with what you've already got.

We've got some cool accessories to help you and your friends stand out.

-What else?

-We can never decide on the same tunes.

OK, music choice. We can help you with that. When did you say it was?

-Tonight.

-Oh! OK. I thought you were going to say that.

-Let's do clothes first. Where's your room?

-Up there.

-Cool. Let's go.

OK. Larissa, the most important thing to remember

when you're wearing something to a disco is wear something bright.

Not too gaudy. Don't mix patterns. Just something that'll stand out.

Shoe-wise, I'd say wear something smart,

but comfortable at the same time.

If you're dancing, you don't want your feet to be sore.

-Where are your clothes?

-Right here.

-Let's find you an outfit.

"Dance with me!" You're going to a disco!

What about these?

They're nice, but they're not comfortable enough, I don't think.

These are awesome. You're wearing these.

I don't care what you say, you are wearing these.

-How about theses?

-Perfect. OK, so we've got your outfit now.

-Do you like it?

-I love it, the bright colours and the patterns.

-It's brilliant.

-So now it's time to tackle the music. Let's go.

-Yeah.

OK, let's go. I remember you said

-you have a hard time choosing music at a disco.

-Yeah.

My solution is to make a song selector.

-How does that sound?

-Great.

We've got paper, pens and scissors,

-so I'll get folding and you write down your favourite bands.

-Yep.

-OK, pick a colour and then count out the letters.

-Red.

You chose red, one, two, three, and the number you land on is your song.

-So if you pick three, you would be listening to Domino.

-Cool.

So that is music sorted.

But every good song needs a good dance move,

and I've got a bit of a surprise for you.

Our very own Aidan Davis has choreographed a dance move

for you to do at your disco.

So let's have a look.

Hello, Larissa. Aidan here.

I'm teaching you a move for your school disco to wow your friends.

You can go, "Aidan taught me that." This is the move.

What we do here is really simple. Shift one, two, one, two.

One, two, one, two. Start by doing these first.

Hit, hit, whoo, yeah!

Hip, hip, whoo. Just do this.

It goes to literally any song.

We've got a faster one...

A slower one...

That's the move. Use it.

-I absolutely love that.

-Yeah? You feel confident about it?

-Yeah.

-Really confident.

-Good. Just add some swagger and you're fine.

It sounds like your friends are here.

Before you let them in, I've got some glow-in-the-dark bracelets

to help you stand out at the disco.

-So...enjoy.

If you need help preparing for a disco or party, here are some tips.

But complement it with a plain colour to get the balance right.

Then you'll need your dancing shoes.

It's important to look dressed up but you don't want sore feet,

so smart trainers or flats are a good option.

It can be hard to know which song you want to hear.

A song selector is a great way of making a difficult choice easy.

The more you make for you and your friends,

the longer the music will last.

It lets everyone know you're all friends,

plus it can help you find each other

if you get lost at the party.

Larissa was lucky to have Aidan choreograph a move for her,

but you can easily make your own one up.

You can also accessorise with glowing wristbands or necklaces,

but always ask an adult to check they have a CE safety mark.

There is no doubt that Larissa's disco will be one to remember.

I kind of wish I was going now!
