SHE SNIFFS

0:52:090:52:12

I can smell...

0:52:120:52:14

..a rhyme!

0:52:150:52:16

-ALL:

-Paint is great, paint is fun

0:52:190:52:23

We like painting everyone

0:52:230:52:27

Mix it up, sticky reds

0:52:270:52:31

I like painting my dad's head

0:52:310:52:34

Stir it up, gooey blue

0:52:350:52:39

I like painting my mum, too

0:52:390:52:42

Pour its purple everywhere

0:52:430:52:47

Now my brother has new hair

0:52:470:52:51

Red and white

0:52:510:52:53

Black and brown

0:52:530:52:55

See my grandad as a clown

0:52:550:52:59

-ALL:

-Paint is great, paint is fun

0:52:590:53:03

We like painting everyone.

0:53:030:53:07

The fuel gauge has gone up again!

0:53:100:53:13

-I like painting everyone. Especially you, Commander.

-Aw.

0:53:200:53:25

-But, please, sit still.

-How much longer?

0:53:250:53:29

Commander, a masterpiece doesn't rush from the brush!

0:53:290:53:33

True art comes from the heart.

0:53:330:53:36

If it's art you want, let's activate the soundascope!

0:53:360:53:41

Let's see what art sounds are out there.

0:53:410:53:45

TRANQUIL MUSIC PLAYS

0:53:450:53:47

Oh, it sounds like a beautiful summer's day. Listen to that music!

0:53:470:53:53

Light, light, bright, bright light.

0:53:530:53:58

ALL: Light, light bright, bright light.

0:53:580:54:03

-Light...

-Not any more, professor - the sound's changing.

0:54:030:54:08

Oh, it sounds like a dark and stormy night.

0:54:090:54:13

I don't want to be scared. I better cover my eyes!

0:54:140:54:17

Dark, dark, deep, deep dark.

0:54:170:54:23

ALL: Dark, dark, deep, deep dark.

0:54:230:54:28

-HE WHIMPERS

-Commander, turn the lights back on!

0:54:280:54:32

Professor, the lights ARE on, just take your hands down!

0:54:320:54:37

Oh.

0:54:370:54:38

-I'd better get on with my painting.

-Oh, hang on, more rhymes ahoy!

0:54:380:54:42

SHE GASPS

0:54:420:54:44

Hey, diddle-diddle the cat and the fiddle

0:54:480:54:52

The cow jumped over the moon

0:54:520:54:56

The little dog laughed to see such fun

0:54:560:55:01

And the dish ran away with the spoon.

0:55:010:55:06

Ha-ha-ha!

0:55:060:55:09

And the dish ran away with the spoon!

0:55:110:55:15

Ditty, how's the fuel tank?

0:55:150:55:17

We could still do with a few more rhymes to fill the tanks.

0:55:170:55:21

I know what'll do the trick. It's time for a limerick!

0:55:210:55:24

A Rhyme Rocket artist called Poet

0:55:240:55:27

Was annoying, though he didn't know it

0:55:270:55:30

He'd do a strange pose

0:55:300:55:32

Get paint on his nose

0:55:320:55:34

And then he needed to blow it.

0:55:340:55:36

POET SNEEZES

0:55:360:55:38

THEY BOTH LAUGH

0:55:380:55:40

Commander, please sit still!

0:55:410:55:44

-Commander, that was a great limerick. Can I have a go?

-Mm-hm.

0:55:440:55:48

A Rhyme Rocket artist called Poet

0:55:490:55:52

Was annoying, though he didn't know it

0:55:520:55:54

He'd do a strange pose

0:55:540:55:57

Get paint on his nose

0:55:570:56:00

BOTH: And then he needed to blow it! POET SNEEZES

0:56:000:56:05

THEY BOTH LAUGH

0:56:050:56:07

Commander, look! The Rhyme Rock!

0:56:120:56:15

Great! A place in space where the rhyming is ace!

0:56:150:56:18

Full of performers who are super cool

0:56:180:56:21

Who want to fill our tanks with fuel.

0:56:210:56:24

Very good, First Officer Ditty. Beam aboard Isaiah Hull.

0:56:240:56:28

Oh, he's one of my favourites! Here goes!

0:56:280:56:32

I am an artist

0:56:350:56:36

My job isn't boring

0:56:360:56:38

There's no snoring involved when I'm painting and drawing

0:56:380:56:42

I can travel the world using my pen

0:56:420:56:44

Teleport to the moon and back home again

0:56:440:56:47

I can pick a pallet of colours from places around me

0:56:470:56:52

When I don't know what to draw, I look at what surrounds me

0:56:520:56:55

If it's big as a house or like a mouse, very small

0:56:550:56:59

Its fast feet tap as it runs across the floor

0:56:590:57:02

If it's tall as a tree or as wide as the sea

0:57:020:57:07

Wild waves crash down at the sand on the beach

0:57:070:57:10

I travel in space, searching for alien lands

0:57:100:57:14

The spaceship takes shape of the pen in my hands

0:57:140:57:17

With blue, red or green instead

0:57:170:57:20

Plain black and white to a rainbow bed

0:57:200:57:24

All I need is my imagination

0:57:240:57:27

The pen runs across the page to make my own creation

0:57:270:57:30

Now my day seems brighter

0:57:300:57:33

My blank page is lighter.

0:57:330:57:35

THEY CHEER

0:57:350:57:37

Thank you, Isaiah. That was poem-tastic!

0:57:370:57:41

We're heading out of range, I'd better beam you back.

0:57:410:57:44

Can I just get an autograph?

0:57:440:57:47

Oh.

0:57:470:57:48

Our rhyme tanks are almost full!

0:57:530:57:56

-Ohhh!

-Oh-ho-ho!

0:57:560:57:57

We need to find the rhyme recruits on Planet Earth. Do you have a fix?

0:57:570:58:03

Yes, I have them. The rhyme nav says they're in a city called Sal-ford.

0:58:030:58:08

-Maybe they'll have a nice art gallery.

-There's no time for art.

0:58:080:58:12

We need a poem from the rhyme recruits.

0:58:120:58:15

DING DONG

0:58:150:58:17

'Entering Earth's atmosphere. Stand by for entry. Stand by for entry.'

0:58:170:58:24

I haven't finished my painting! Ditty, pass me the yucky yellow.

0:58:240:58:29

Quiet! I've got an announcement to make.

0:58:290:58:32

'Greetings, Earthlings.

0:58:320:58:34

This is the Rhyme Rocket. Ready to collect your words.'

0:58:340:58:38

-Yucky yellow.

-Hit the brakes!

-Yes, Commander!

0:58:380:58:42

BRAKES SCREECH

0:58:440:58:46

We've reached our destination, Salford. Woo-woo!

0:58:500:58:55

Crew, you need to collect the poem from our rhyme recruits.

0:58:550:58:59

-Is that clear?

-Yes, Commander.

0:58:590:59:01

Oh!

0:59:040:59:06

Sorry, Commander, I rewired the flight deck a tiny bit this morning.

0:59:060:59:11

-Hmmm! Ditty, Ditty. Are you ready?

-Yes, Ma'am.

0:59:110:59:14

Before you do, Ditty, my painting is finished.

1:01:141:01:18

Go on, let's see.

1:01:181:01:19

Ta-da!

1:01:211:01:22

It's your thumb, Professor.

I know. I think it's a good likeness.

The crew of the Rhyme Rocket have one mission: to collect poems from around the universe, one rhyme at a time.

After receiving a signal of rhyme activity from Rhyme Recruits in Salford, the team blast off to join them. Zooming through the universe of words, the crew gather rhymes to fuel the rocket including a poem by Paul Cookson and a poetic performance from Isaiah Hull.

On arrival at Earth, Professor Poet and Officer Ditty beam down to perform the poem with the Rhyme Recruits.
