In just four weeks, can she go from singing solo in her front room

to putting on the performance of a lifetime, singing to thousands?

I'm quite scared that everything will go wrong.

Turbo Boost is in Peterborough today and I'm on my way to

12-year-old Dilara's house to give her the surprise of her life.

I'm going to help super-size her untapped singing talent.

Dilara left for school early this morning

and her mum's just told her she has a dentist appointment

and is on her way home to brush her teeth.

She has no idea that she is about to get Turbo Boosted.

The cameras are hidden and her mum let me in the house earlier

so I can surprise her.

Dilara's at the front door

and very soon she's about to hear her Turbo Boost challenge.

With my help, her singing voice is going to be

heard by more people than just her mum and her little brother.

-Hi, Dilara.

-Oh, hello.

-I'm Turbo and you are going to be Turbo Boosted.

-Oh!

My name's Dilara and I'm 12.

This is my mum and she's madly in love with Steve Backshall.

And this is my brother and he loves chocolate

and trying to make people laugh.

I want to be a singer.

If I'm not that, then I want to be a lawyer,

but I want to be a singing lawyer.

They are all the trophies I got from trampolining.

But I'm thinking about giving it up and doing music as a full-time thing.

SHE SINGS

When I sing, I feel so happy

because I can just let all of the emotions out and everything.

It's lovely and fun and happy and cheery and brilliant.

Dilara sings absolutely everywhere.

She sings on the slide, she sings on the swings.

-She sings while she's sitting on the toilet.

-And she drives us crazy.

My favourite singers are Dionne Bromfield, cos she's amazing.

And Jessie J. I love Jessie J.

I want to be Turbo Boosted because it'll give me

a really good opportunity to boost my skill.

And I'm so passionate about it, I could burst.

So, Dilara, why do you want to be turbo boosted?

Because it helps improve your skill. And I really want singing lessons.

Over the next four weeks,

I'm going to be working you really, really hard.

I'm going to get you as much help as possible

and at the end of that you are going to be performing

in front of thousands of people at a Rugby League match.

Superstars like Katherine Jenkins

and Beyonce perform in arenas to tens of thousands.

Dilara's never even had a singing lesson and only performed to

a room-full, so this Turbo Boost is going to be tough.

to need some expert help

so I've lined up some mentors who are the best in the business.

They're going to make sure you work hard and have an incredible

and fantastic Final Challenge, and you're going to smash it.

Hello, Dilara. We're Carrie and David Grant.

David and Carrie Grant are experts in getting superstars

ready for their big shows.

They've worked with the likes of the Saturdays,

Take That and the Spice Girls.

They know that to be top singing stars in Britain today,

you need raw talent, performance skills and confidence,

and you need to be ready to work hard.

We have got to get you ready for your final performance

in front of 10,000 people.

Dilara performs her favourite song

so that Carrie and David can assess her singing ability.

# Everybody look to the left

# Everybody look to the right. #

She's good, but not good enough.

Carrie wants Dilara to up her game.

The three things we're going to work on today are your vocal identity,

your performance.

By that, I don't mean choreography but I just mean inner life,

your facial performance connecting with the song,

and also your confidence.

-Are you all right?

-Yeah.

-Good.

With her plan in place, it's time to get to work.

If we hit this note...

Your vocal cords beat together 440 times a second.

Before Dilara begins her lesson, her vocal cords need warming up.

Humming is the way that we do that.

-Stop, and breathe.

-That's it!

-Fantastic!

-And do it again.

While Dilara works on her vocal technique,

I want to know from David how she's getting on.

How is she doing?

She's doing really well. She picks things up really quickly.

She's artistically intelligent.

You can say something to her and she just gets it, which is great.

I think she's instinctively a singer.

Next, Carrie's chosen Emeli Sande's hit

Read All About It for Dilara to sing.

I want you to sing it and tell me the story.

By thinking about the words of the song

and singing them in her own unique way,

Carrie's trying to develop Dilara's vocal identity.

Tell me what my heart's like. Really tell me.

-Do you know why you've forgotten the words?

-No.

Cos you connected with them.

I always know when a singer forgets the words like you did there,

it's because you started living in the moment.

Professional singers have to remember the lyrics but also connect

with the words so that the audience believe they mean what they sing.

It's what will take Dilara's performance out of the sitting room

and into the stadium, but it's not easy.

The concern that I have is that

when she performs, that personality's not coming across.

Somehow, it all comes in the voice and you can close you eyes

and think that's really good, but when you watch her,

she's quite deadpan and quite straight-faced.

There's a lot of energy in the song,

whether you can give that energy from in you.

You might need to stand. Just stand where you are.

By getting Dilara to stand, Carrie and David hope she'll start thinking

about taking ownership of her stage.

They also give her a song with a lot more energy to sing,

Katy Perry's Firework, to test her confidence.

But she's struggling with the high notes and it's out of tune.

It's exhausting, isn't it?

I think she's going to need some acting lessons or something

that'll enable her to connect an emotion with the actual song.

What are fireworks like?

Explosive.

Hello? Where's that?

Where is explosive when it comes to the performance?

-You're fantastic!

-You're explosive!

It's explosive.

It does slightly worry me that even if we do get her acting a bit,

what happens if that means it compromises the words?

You can't have that happen.

You cannot forget your words in a performance.

After an intensive few hours,

David and Carrie can see Dilara's potential and have a plan.

We're going to set you one song, which is Read All About It.

We also want you to learn Firework.

We want you to absolutely live the words of that song

and think about what they are.

We're going to hear you perform the next time we see you

and we're going to choose one for you to do

on your big finale performance.

It's the end of the Masterclass

and time for a pep talk from her coaches.

Your voice naturally is absolutely beautiful.

There are many people out there making records who don't have

as beautiful a voice as you have.

What we are doing by giving you coaching is saying,

it's a lovely voice, but you're using about 50% of it at the moment.

Should be in bed.

Dilara wastes no time putting Carrie and David's advice into practice.

First day. Carrie told me I was avoiding the high notes in my range.

I have been practising every day, trying to get it right.

It's not as emotional as I hoped.

Carrie and David said Dilara needed acting lessons, so I've brought her

to a top theatre school in London which will really test her nerve.

Do not get scared.

They've had pupils such as Rita Ora, Dionne Broomfield,

Denise van Outen, but to name a few.

-Ready to go in?

-Yeah.

-Let's go.

A very nervous Dilara is about to join a drama class

full of older students.

The teacher, Bryn Williams, has taught superstars such as

Nicole Kidman, Nathan from The Wanted and Kel Spellman.

He's going to teach Dilara a few trade secrets.

Acting is expression, that's all it is.

Expression of emotion, of gesture,

and that's all you do with a lyric, isn't it?

Be able to express something to an audience.

I want you just to form your face into the comedy mask.

Go.

Bryn's putting Dilara straight to work.

Change that to tragedy, sad.

It's daunting being the new girl

in the class of more experienced students,

but Dilara's getting stuck in.

What's happening in your session today?

What we're trying to do is show expression.

Show how to show emotion.

What Dilara will learn from this

is you can take a basic word and basic movement

and express an emotion that will connect to an audience.

Dilara's making progress, but Bryn wants to boost her confidence,

and what better way than getting her to act out the words of the songs

she'll be singing for the final?

I think I need to improve on my confidence

and also I need to improve on getting all of the emotions out,

because at this point, I'm using that much

and I want to use that much!

If Dilara's not convinced she's good enough,

her audience won't be either.

She needs to be ready to perform in front of 10,000 people,

so I've decided to up the stakes and set her a mini-challenge.

At a shopping centre in central London

with the help of chart-topping pop star, Dionne Broomfield.

When you get on stage, do you kind of freeze,

You're there to entertain them. They just want to see a good entertainer.

If you stand there and are like,

"I don't know what I'm going to do," it will be really awkward.

As long as you captivate them, you'll be on cloud nine.

For your mini-challenge,

you are going to be singing right here in this shopping centre.

You're going to attract unsuspecting members of the public's attention

and you have to grab it and maintain it.

-How do you feel, Dilara?

-Nervous.

Ready or not, Dilara prepares to sing one of her favourite songs,

She knows it well, so I'm expecting a good performance.

It's confident, in pitch, and shoppers are enjoying it too.

But Dilara needs to stretch beyond her comfort zone

to succeed in her final performance.

Katy Perry's Firework has always been tricky for Dilara.

Getting the lyrics wrong and reaching the high notes have been a worry.

Her pitch is off and worst of all, she's starting to lose her audience.

After today, I'm not so sure she'll be ready

for her big performance in three weeks' time.

DILARA SINGS OUT OF TUNE

..so they can gauge what is still needed

to supersize her performance for the Final Challenge.

She's strong. But wrong.

Strong and wrong's not good.

The fact that we've got her in the studio today,

hearing her voice, she's going to hear the backing track

and her vocal at the same time.

Listening to Dilara perform both the songs she's been practising

will help them decide which one she'll sing

in front of an audience of 10,000 in two weeks' time.

have been a problem throughout the past two weeks.

She really needs to get it right on the night.

After hours of effort and intense Masterclass,

the difference in Dilara's performance is clear.

You've gone from zero to 120%.

I think I just realised

that if I want to do it good,

I need to put emotion into it as well.

-Is there anything you're worried about?

-That I'll forget the words.

And what happens if you forget the words?

Ad lib.

So what we always say

is the difference between an amateur and a professional

is the ability to recover. Yeah?

I'm considering you to be a professional now,

so you have to recover quickly.

It's the end of the Masterclass and David's recorded her best takes.

so Dilara can listen and perfect her performance at home.

David tells her to grab and hold her audience,

but with her audience on all sides and behind her, it won't be easy.

Get it wrong and it could be a complete disaster.

She's in tune and confident.

But she's singing to an empty stadium.

Will she still be on her game when the seats are full?

We've put her right in the environment,

she's had her sound check.

We can't do any more other than put 12,000 people in here,

which we've just found out is 12,000, not 10,000,

so that's more scary.

As Dilara gets ready, the stadium fills up.
