Here's the Who Let The Dogs Out and About? guide to Brighton. | 0:02:04 | 0:02:08
Welcome to Brighton - the seaside city of the splendidly sunny south. | 0:02:14 | 0:02:20
Some famous faces that call Brighton home include | 0:02:20 | 0:02:24
Rizzle Kicks and Conor Maynard. | 0:02:24 | 0:02:27
Brighton is a top holiday destination. | 0:02:27 | 0:02:30
When the sun shines, | 0:02:30 | 0:02:32
its pebble beach attracts sun-worshippers in their thousands. | 0:02:32 | 0:02:36
A Punch and Judy puppet theatre with ice cream - | 0:02:36 | 0:02:39
the perfect holiday treat! | 0:02:39 | 0:02:41
Brighton Pier is a famous landmark for fun-seekers. | 0:02:41 | 0:02:45
It's over 500 metres long | 0:02:45 | 0:02:47
and has fairground rides and amusement arcades. | 0:02:47 | 0:02:50
And at night, it's quite BRIGHTON the pier. | 0:02:50 | 0:02:54
Get it? Bright-on! | 0:02:54 | 0:02:55
So, that's Brighton. | 0:02:55 | 0:02:57
Now it's over to Trick Time with Claire and Nelly. | 0:03:03 | 0:03:06
Welcome to Trick Time. Today's trick is called Walk Backwards. | 0:03:07 | 0:03:11
If you don't know what that looks like, | 0:03:11 | 0:03:13
here's Ashleigh and Pudsey doing it. | 0:03:13 | 0:03:16
Thank you, Claire. | 0:03:16 | 0:03:17
Pudsey does actually walk backwards better on two legs than four, | 0:03:17 | 0:03:20
but I think that's a bit difficult to learn by the end of the show, | 0:03:20 | 0:03:24
so we're going to give it a go on all four legs. Walk, walk. Good boy. | 0:03:24 | 0:03:28
Walk, walk, walk, Well done. Good boy. | 0:03:28 | 0:03:32
Big good luck to all three of you. | 0:03:32 | 0:03:34
Looks simple, but I'm going to find out if our trainers | 0:03:34 | 0:03:38
are going to be able to teach their dogs how to do it | 0:03:38 | 0:03:40
before the end of the show. | 0:03:40 | 0:03:41
First of all, Cassidy. You've a collie-cross here. | 0:03:41 | 0:03:45
Yeah, it's a collie-cross spaniel. | 0:03:45 | 0:03:47
-Brilliant. And what's his name? -His name's Dave. | 0:03:47 | 0:03:50
-Have you taught Dave many things? -He knows "sit", "kiss", "beg". | 0:03:50 | 0:03:55
-He knows "shake", he knows "change paw". -That's pretty good. | 0:03:55 | 0:03:58
Lydia. You've got a Cavalier King Charles spaniel. | 0:03:58 | 0:04:02
-Yeah. -Is it a girl or a boy? | 0:04:02 | 0:04:04
-She's a girl. -What's her name? -Jenny. -What's your best trick? | 0:04:04 | 0:04:08
-High-five. -Can we see it? | 0:04:08 | 0:04:11
High-five! Good girl. | 0:04:11 | 0:04:14
APPLAUSE | 0:04:14 | 0:04:16
And we've got Amelia at the end. | 0:04:16 | 0:04:19
-And you've got a Bichon Frise. -Yeah. -What's her name? -Cookie. | 0:04:19 | 0:04:23
-She's lovely. How old's Cookie? -She is two. -She's very sweet. | 0:04:23 | 0:04:26
Does Cookie know lots of tricks? | 0:04:26 | 0:04:29
-Er, a few. -What's her best trick? -She can dry her own paws. | 0:04:29 | 0:04:33
-That's pretty good. On the doormat? -No, a beanbag, actually. | 0:04:33 | 0:04:36
-On a beanbag? -Yeah. | 0:04:36 | 0:04:38
I'll take you through three steps to teach your dog how to walk backwards. | 0:04:38 | 0:04:43
You want to walk towards your dog. When it takes a step back, like that, | 0:04:43 | 0:04:47
say, "Good girl," and give her a treat. | 0:04:47 | 0:04:49
Step two, you want to get a few more steps from your dog | 0:04:49 | 0:04:52
and say, "Back up," when you're doing it. | 0:04:52 | 0:04:54
Back up, back up, back up. Good girl. | 0:04:54 | 0:04:57
-You reckon you can do it? -Yeah. -OK, guys, get started. | 0:04:57 | 0:05:01
I'm going to let these guys practise. | 0:05:01 | 0:05:02
We'll come back and see how they're doing later. | 0:05:02 | 0:05:05
I think they deserve a round of applause. | 0:05:05 | 0:05:07
APPLAUSE | 0:05:07 | 0:05:08
Thank you, Claire. | 0:05:11 | 0:05:13
Yes, we really do have the best dog trainers on this show. Fact. | 0:05:13 | 0:05:16
-And they make it look really easy, too. -I know. Great stuff. | 0:05:16 | 0:05:19
Now, we sent our resident action vet - yes, I mean you - | 0:05:19 | 0:05:22
off to find out about a remarkable group of kids | 0:05:22 | 0:05:25
who are learning to save lives with the help of their dogs. | 0:05:25 | 0:05:28
-What are you pointing at? -A bird. -Right. Take a look at this. | 0:05:28 | 0:05:32
These are amazing Newfoundlands. | 0:05:35 | 0:05:37
They are super life-saving dogs | 0:05:37 | 0:05:39
and it's safe to say they just love the water. | 0:05:39 | 0:05:42
I'm spending the day with the Newfoundland Friends - | 0:05:45 | 0:05:48
a charity who raise money for sick children | 0:05:48 | 0:05:51
by putting on displays of their life-saving skills. | 0:05:51 | 0:05:54
The dogs train every week at this Cotswold water park | 0:05:54 | 0:05:56
with their young dog trainers. | 0:05:56 | 0:05:58
It's a serious job, but the training looks like a lot of fun. | 0:05:58 | 0:06:02
-Hi, Ellie. Who is this very handsome boy here? -This is Ozzy. | 0:06:02 | 0:06:07
OK. Looks like all of his mates and your friends are there training away. | 0:06:07 | 0:06:12
He's quite keen to get in the water. Shall we let him go and have a swim? | 0:06:12 | 0:06:15
-OK. -Go on, mate. Off you go. Wow. He's keen. | 0:06:15 | 0:06:19
'Or maybe he was just keen to have a wee!' | 0:06:19 | 0:06:23
I've done a little bit of homework about Newfoundlands | 0:06:23 | 0:06:26
and it seems the hardest thing about working with humans and dogs | 0:06:26 | 0:06:29
is actually training the human, not training the dog. | 0:06:29 | 0:06:32
-Is that right? -Yeah, definitely. The dogs know what they're doing. | 0:06:32 | 0:06:35
You have to make it clear to people that they're not just massive dogs | 0:06:35 | 0:06:38
that can hold anything, they can be hurt. | 0:06:38 | 0:06:41
-They're not big furry surfboards. -No, you can't just jump on top of them. | 0:06:41 | 0:06:44
You might not know that I used to be a lifeguard back in Australia. | 0:06:44 | 0:06:48
But I certainly have never saved lives with dogs. | 0:06:48 | 0:06:51
So, what do you think? Am I up for it? | 0:06:51 | 0:06:52
-Do you think you could teach me how? -Yeah, I reckon. -Yeah? | 0:06:52 | 0:06:55
Originally from Canada, Newfoundlands are the perfect water dog. | 0:06:56 | 0:07:00
They have a thick, oily, waterproof coat and they have webbed feet, | 0:07:00 | 0:07:04
which means they're strong swimmers. | 0:07:04 | 0:07:06
They were first bred to work with fishermen to help pull in nets, | 0:07:06 | 0:07:09
but their skill as life-savers was soon recognised | 0:07:09 | 0:07:12
and now they're used all over the world. | 0:07:12 | 0:07:14
There are several amazing feats of rescue | 0:07:14 | 0:07:17
that have been recorded over the last 200 years, | 0:07:17 | 0:07:19
from saving people who have fallen in the water | 0:07:19 | 0:07:22
to rescuing whole boats of shipwrecked sailors. | 0:07:22 | 0:07:25
Right. I'll go and get changed. | 0:07:28 | 0:07:32
Right, I've got the outfit on. | 0:07:32 | 0:07:34
It's a little snug, but I'm ready for action. | 0:07:34 | 0:07:37
OK, I'm ready to go. What do I need to do? | 0:07:37 | 0:07:40
Before we can teach you, we need to have a demonstration. | 0:07:40 | 0:07:43
OK. So, what should I do? | 0:07:43 | 0:07:44
-Basically, head in that direction and start swimming. -Right. OK. Bye! | 0:07:44 | 0:07:49
So, this is it. My first time life-saving with a dog. I can't wait. | 0:07:50 | 0:07:53
Well, I'm in the middle of the lake, I'm wet, | 0:07:53 | 0:07:56
it's freezing and I'm just wondering | 0:07:56 | 0:07:58
if there'll be a Newfoundland swimming past at any moment | 0:07:58 | 0:08:02
just to come and save me. Cue the dog. Cue the dog! | 0:08:02 | 0:08:06
And here he is. Newfoundland to the rescue. | 0:08:11 | 0:08:14
Of all the dogs I've met, | 0:08:17 | 0:08:18
these guys are truly deserving of the name super-dog. | 0:08:18 | 0:08:22
Come on. Come on, Whiz. | 0:08:22 | 0:08:25
-Grab his ring. -OK. | 0:08:25 | 0:08:26
The ring is there for people in the water to grab and hold onto. | 0:08:26 | 0:08:30
-Lie on your back, feet up. -And luckily for me, | 0:08:30 | 0:08:32
there's a handy ring to hold onto while I'm being saved. | 0:08:32 | 0:08:36
Phwoar! | 0:08:36 | 0:08:39
Ellie and I are both trained lifeguards, | 0:08:39 | 0:08:41
but even we are working under supervision. | 0:08:41 | 0:08:44
Don't try this at home, guys, without the support of professionals. | 0:08:44 | 0:08:47
-That was absolutely amazing. He is so strong, isn't he? -Just a bit. | 0:08:47 | 0:08:52
Unbelievable. I haven't been formally introduced to my rescuer. Who is he? | 0:08:52 | 0:08:56
-This is Whiz. -How old is he? -He is eight now. -Wow. -He is a pro. | 0:08:56 | 0:09:00
I could see that you were chatting to him | 0:09:00 | 0:09:02
whilst you were rescuing me. | 0:09:02 | 0:09:04
Specifically, are there any commands that I need to know? | 0:09:04 | 0:09:06
-"Go", basically. -That's pretty simple! | 0:09:06 | 0:09:09
Simple, short and he knows it. So, just "go" and he should follow you. | 0:09:09 | 0:09:13
-That'll make him jump off the boat? -Yes. | 0:09:13 | 0:09:16
So, once I've said go and we've dived in, | 0:09:16 | 0:09:18
how do I get him to rescue the person? | 0:09:18 | 0:09:20
Basically, you just swim and he should follow you | 0:09:20 | 0:09:23
and then tell him to go "round", he'll swim round | 0:09:23 | 0:09:25
and then "boat", and he should go back to the boat. | 0:09:25 | 0:09:28
-The three commands are "go", "round" and "boat"? -Yes. -OK! | 0:09:28 | 0:09:32
Here it is. My big moment. | 0:09:44 | 0:09:46
I think my lifeguard training is all coming back to me. | 0:09:46 | 0:09:49
Go! | 0:09:49 | 0:09:52 | |
First command done. I think I'm a natural at this. | 0:09:54 | 0:09:56
Come on, Whiz. Round. | 0:09:56 | 0:09:58
If you can grab the ring. | 0:09:58 | 0:10:01
Good boy. Good boy. | 0:10:01 | 0:10:03
Boat. Boat. Good boy! | 0:10:03 | 0:10:07
Come on, boy. Nearly there. Boat. | 0:10:07 | 0:10:09
Good boy! | 0:10:09 | 0:10:12
That was amazing! The Newfoundlands really are great swimmers | 0:10:16 | 0:10:20
And are so calm and at home in the water. | 0:10:20 | 0:10:23
There we go. I've rescued my first person with a dog. | 0:10:23 | 0:10:26
Time to get me and my newfound friends back to dry land. What a day! | 0:10:29 | 0:10:34
Well, it looks like I've found myself some newfound friends. | 0:10:36 | 0:10:40
These beasts are amazing lifesavers. Let's go and get warmed up. | 0:10:40 | 0:10:45
Come on, guys! | 0:10:45 | 0:10:47
Still to come, Dr Scott gives tips on the best things to feed your dog, | 0:10:52 | 0:10:57
we'll find out what Ashleigh and Pudsey really get up to at home, | 0:10:57 | 0:11:02
over at the display area, we have greyhounds doing agility, | 0:11:02 | 0:11:06
and Kate receives an invitation to the wedding of the year. | 0:11:06 | 0:11:11
But first, it's over to Dr Scott. | 0:11:11 | 0:11:13
Hello and welcome to Dr Scott's Corner | 0:11:15 | 0:11:17
where today we're talking all about dog nutrition. | 0:11:17 | 0:11:19
Now, nutrition is the science of | 0:11:19 | 0:11:21
compiling all the raw ingredients of a diet | 0:11:21 | 0:11:23
to make a really healthy one. | 0:11:23 | 0:11:25
Now, it's so important to get nutrition right in dogs, | 0:11:25 | 0:11:28
the reason being that dogs grow very, very quickly. | 0:11:28 | 0:11:31
As puppies, they grow about 12 times faster than a baby. | 0:11:31 | 0:11:34
Let's talk first of all about commercial diets. | 0:11:34 | 0:11:37
That's basically any food that you can buy. | 0:11:37 | 0:11:40
So let's have a look at the types you can get hold of. | 0:11:40 | 0:11:42
I always recommend dry foods. | 0:11:42 | 0:11:44
Most of the time when you're looking for dry foods, you want to look at | 0:11:44 | 0:11:48
the back of the labelling where it says "complete balanced diet". | 0:11:48 | 0:11:51
That means everything your dog could possibly need | 0:11:51 | 0:11:53
is present in the food. | 0:11:53 | 0:11:54
Dried foods are great, as it helps keep your dog's teeth clean, | 0:11:54 | 0:11:57
and you can leave it around the house and it won't go off. | 0:11:57 | 0:12:00
But it doesn't come in a huge amount of varieties, | 0:12:00 | 0:12:02
and a lot of dogs actually far prefer the wet food. | 0:12:02 | 0:12:05
Wet food comes in loads of different varieties. | 0:12:05 | 0:12:08
I've got rice and carrots and all sorts of different things. | 0:12:08 | 0:12:11
The unfortunate thing about it is, it does stick to the teeth, | 0:12:11 | 0:12:14
so it does speed dental disease up. | 0:12:14 | 0:12:16
Next thing we'll look at is puppy and breed-specific diets. | 0:12:16 | 0:12:20
Now, puppy diets are a really good idea. | 0:12:20 | 0:12:22
They have a lot of protein and energy, | 0:12:22 | 0:12:24
so when they're growing quickly, | 0:12:24 | 0:12:26
it provides everything they need in that one diet. | 0:12:26 | 0:12:29
As they grow, there's lots of breed-specific diets, | 0:12:29 | 0:12:32
so every different breed that's out there, they'll have a diet for. | 0:12:32 | 0:12:36
In this instance, this is for pugs, and it's been designed | 0:12:36 | 0:12:39
so that it makes it easy for them to eat. | 0:12:39 | 0:12:41
And then finally, we've got treats. | 0:12:41 | 0:12:44
The treats I really like are things that give your dog something to do. | 0:12:44 | 0:12:47
So they help to clean their teeth, like this toothbrush. | 0:12:47 | 0:12:50
Otherwise, you have things like rawhide, | 0:12:50 | 0:12:52
and look at this, guys. Pig's ear. Eurgh! | 0:12:52 | 0:12:55
It's even got hair still on it. | 0:12:55 | 0:12:57
These sort of things are great when you leave the house. | 0:12:57 | 0:13:00
They've got something to chew on, something to keep their interest. | 0:13:00 | 0:13:03
But you need to be careful of and avoid human foods. | 0:13:03 | 0:13:07
Things like crisps are really not good - loads of salt. | 0:13:07 | 0:13:11
And also chocolate. You probably know this already, | 0:13:11 | 0:13:14
but chocolate is quite toxic for dogs, | 0:13:14 | 0:13:16
and when given to them, it can have quite serious consequences. | 0:13:16 | 0:13:19
So make sure no chocolate for your dogs. | 0:13:19 | 0:13:21
Now, if you think that you're a conscientious dog owner | 0:13:21 | 0:13:25
and you think, "I fancy myself as a bit of a doggy chef," | 0:13:25 | 0:13:28
then let's meet one over here. This is Chester. Hello, mate! | 0:13:28 | 0:13:33
-This is Michaela. -Hi. -You actually cook for dogs, for a living. | 0:13:33 | 0:13:36
Yes, I do. It started off with Chester. | 0:13:36 | 0:13:40
He was a puppy and he developed allergies to certain foods - | 0:13:40 | 0:13:44
beef, turkey, potatoes - so I really had no choice. | 0:13:44 | 0:13:50
I looked at the nutrition that dogs should have. | 0:13:50 | 0:13:52
I researched a lot of ingredients | 0:13:52 | 0:13:54
and I decided these are all the ingredients that dogs need. | 0:13:54 | 0:13:58
I love it. Lots of fresh foods. Apple and all sorts. | 0:13:58 | 0:14:00
You can cut them up a little bit | 0:14:00 | 0:14:02
into tiny bits and pieces and give them to dogs as treats. | 0:14:02 | 0:14:05
-They're good for their teeth. This is honey. -Honey? | 0:14:05 | 0:14:08
It's a natural sweetener. | 0:14:08 | 0:14:09
Human-grade ingredients, nothing bad in them. | 0:14:09 | 0:14:11
There's different kinds of treats, or cupcakes for dogs. | 0:14:11 | 0:14:15
-Or pup-cakes, maybe. -Yes, pup-cakes. | 0:14:15 | 0:14:18
There's bananas in there, that's really good for dogs, as well. | 0:14:18 | 0:14:21
-Sometimes I make foods like quiche. -Is that a quiche? -Yes. | 0:14:21 | 0:14:25
Quiche for dogs, everyone! Who would have known? That's amazing. | 0:14:25 | 0:14:29
Wonderful. I can see you've got quite a lovely-looking cake here with | 0:14:29 | 0:14:33
"Pudsey" written on. What's in that? | 0:14:33 | 0:14:35
Yes, that's a special treat. There's chicken in there, honey, | 0:14:35 | 0:14:38
cream cheese - lots of good stuff. | 0:14:38 | 0:14:40
Thanks so much, Michaela. One thing you got to remember | 0:14:40 | 0:14:43
with home-cooked diets is they do take a long time | 0:14:43 | 0:14:46
and you need to do your research. | 0:14:46 | 0:14:49
Now we'll try this beautiful cake on our very special guest. | 0:14:49 | 0:14:52
Let's see if Pudsey wants to try it with his celebrity taste buds. | 0:14:52 | 0:14:56
-Hello, Ash, come on in. -Hey. -Pudsey, look, a cake! | 0:14:56 | 0:14:59
Amazing. He's not minding that at all. | 0:14:59 | 0:15:03
He's not. Giving it a good lick. | 0:15:03 | 0:15:05
I know he doesn't get cakes all the time at home. What's his normal food? | 0:15:05 | 0:15:08
He normally just eats the dry food. | 0:15:08 | 0:15:11
It's really high in protein to keep his energy up | 0:15:11 | 0:15:13
so he's ready to perform. | 0:15:13 | 0:15:16
-And train and see Simon, all that sort of stuff. -Of course. | 0:15:16 | 0:15:19
I know that you've been jetting all around the world, | 0:15:19 | 0:15:22
how has his diet changed since you've been travelling? | 0:15:22 | 0:15:26
I must admit, when we are performing and I want Pudsey to work | 0:15:26 | 0:15:30
to his best, he occasionally has ham sandwiches. | 0:15:30 | 0:15:35
Ham sandwiches, people. | 0:15:35 | 0:15:37
Ham has loads of fat in it, it has loads of salt in it, | 0:15:37 | 0:15:40
and I bet it's in white bread, which has loads of sugar in it. | 0:15:40 | 0:15:44
You'll probably read from my expression, | 0:15:44 | 0:15:46
it's not great for the dog. | 0:15:46 | 0:15:48
-He doesn't have it that often. -OK. Thanks so much. | 0:15:48 | 0:15:51
Keep on chowing down that cake. That's doggy nutrition for you, | 0:15:51 | 0:15:54
and just remember, my top tip this week is that you are what you eat, | 0:15:54 | 0:15:57
and that applies to your dog just as much as it applies to you. | 0:15:57 | 0:16:00
Remember to choose a complete balanced diet, | 0:16:00 | 0:16:02
include all the treats in the amount of food that you feed your dog, | 0:16:02 | 0:16:06
and always supply them with loads of fresh water. | 0:16:06 | 0:16:09
Any information on doggy-diet or feeding your hungry hound then | 0:16:09 | 0:16:12
check out the always informative CBBC website. | 0:16:12 | 0:16:15
Thanks, Scott, and on the subject of the website, | 0:16:16 | 0:16:19
you can get in on all the action by going online to the CBBC website | 0:16:19 | 0:16:22
and finding the Bark Mania game. | 0:16:22 | 0:16:25
You might need a special code to unlock something cool | 0:16:25 | 0:16:27
and guess who's got it? Ashleigh's got this week's code. | 0:16:27 | 0:16:30
-So what is it? Here it is. -It is... | 0:16:30 | 0:16:33
Dog food, collar, paw print, stick. | 0:16:33 | 0:16:38
Once more - dog food, collar, paw print, stick. | 0:16:38 | 0:16:44
So make sure you get online straight after the show. | 0:16:44 | 0:16:48
Up next, this lady's going to be answering some of your questions. | 0:16:48 | 0:16:51
It could only be Ask Ashleigh. | 0:16:51 | 0:16:53
BOTH: Hi, Ashleigh and Pudsey. We want to ask you a question. | 0:17:01 | 0:17:05
What's it like to be so famous? | 0:17:05 | 0:17:08
Well, I don't think I'm the famous one, | 0:17:08 | 0:17:11
I think Pudsey's the famous one. | 0:17:11 | 0:17:13
I can go out in a street and no-one knows who I am, | 0:17:13 | 0:17:16
but if I walk out with Pudsey, then that's it, we're mobbed. | 0:17:16 | 0:17:19
So I think you're going to have to ask Pudsey that question. | 0:17:19 | 0:17:23
Hi, Ashley and Pudsey. | 0:17:23 | 0:17:25
How was Pudsey when he was flying on Simon's private jet? | 0:17:25 | 0:17:31
Pudsey is a really well-travelled dog now, | 0:17:31 | 0:17:35
he has travelled every possible way there is, | 0:17:35 | 0:17:38
so he doesn't mind travelling. He was fine in the private jet. | 0:17:38 | 0:17:43
He had a mooch about and then just slept for most of the way. | 0:17:43 | 0:17:47
Hi, Ashleigh and Pudsey, I just wanted to ask you, | 0:17:47 | 0:17:49
when I do tricks with my dog, he always loses attention. | 0:17:49 | 0:17:53
So what can you suggest to me that maybe he'll concentrate on me more? | 0:17:53 | 0:17:56
I make sure before I even start training my dogs that | 0:17:56 | 0:18:00
I know exactly what they like. | 0:18:00 | 0:18:02
So with Pudsey, it would be his favourite treats. | 0:18:02 | 0:18:05
So, ham, ham sandwich, just something like that. | 0:18:05 | 0:18:11
With maybe Border collies, it might be their toy, | 0:18:11 | 0:18:15
so just make sure you find something that your dog's really into | 0:18:15 | 0:18:18
and will catch their attention. | 0:18:18 | 0:18:21
ALL: Hi, Ashleigh and Pudsey. | 0:18:22 | 0:18:25
My question to Ashleigh is, how old was Pudsey when he started training? | 0:18:25 | 0:18:28
My mum bred Pudsey, so we've had him right from day one. | 0:18:28 | 0:18:32
As soon as I found out that I could keep Pudsey all for myself, | 0:18:32 | 0:18:36
I started training straightaway. | 0:18:36 | 0:18:38
So, I would say I would start teaching him the basics | 0:18:38 | 0:18:42
when he was about eight weeks old. | 0:18:42 | 0:18:45
BOTH: Hi, Ashleigh and Pudsey. | 0:18:45 | 0:18:48
We were wondering if you've got any Hollywood films coming up? | 0:18:48 | 0:18:51
I can't really say yet, but you never know. | 0:18:53 | 0:18:56
Pudsey might be coming to cinemas near you. | 0:18:56 | 0:18:59
You might not know this, but Nelly absolutely loves greyhounds | 0:19:04 | 0:19:08
and she's going to be really excited today, | 0:19:08 | 0:19:10
because today's display is all about greyhounds. | 0:19:10 | 0:19:12
Over here, I've got Angela and Emma and their greyhounds, | 0:19:12 | 0:19:15
and I'm about to take Nelly around to see them. | 0:19:15 | 0:19:17
This is what Nelly's like with non-greyhound dogs. | 0:19:17 | 0:19:20
She completely ignores them. Now let's see what she's like | 0:19:20 | 0:19:22
when she sees some greyhounds. Come on, Nelly. | 0:19:22 | 0:19:26
Look. There she goes! Nelly's saying hello. She likes | 0:19:26 | 0:19:30
sniffing greyhound ears. It's one of her favourite hobbies. | 0:19:30 | 0:19:33
What are your greyhounds' names that you have with you today? | 0:19:33 | 0:19:36
-This is Ruby. -And this is Indie. | 0:19:36 | 0:19:37
They're going to be doing agility and obedience with us. | 0:19:37 | 0:19:41
Can't wait to see this. Let's go. | 0:19:41 | 0:19:43
Greyhounds are among the fastest dogs in the world. | 0:19:43 | 0:19:47
They are going to tear up the agility arena today. | 0:19:47 | 0:19:51
This is Ruby. Over the jumps... | 0:19:51 | 0:19:55
having a shake, now a change of pace, slowing things down. | 0:19:55 | 0:20:00
And over the seesaw. Nice work. | 0:20:04 | 0:20:08
Other dogs coming into the arena now. | 0:20:08 | 0:20:10
Good tunnel work, impressive stuff. | 0:20:12 | 0:20:15
Charlie, through the hoop. | 0:20:15 | 0:20:18
Taking his time through the weave poles. | 0:20:19 | 0:20:23
Greyhounds tend to be a lovely, gentle, intelligent breed of dog. | 0:20:23 | 0:20:26
Primarily bred for racing, greyhounds are extremely fast | 0:20:26 | 0:20:30
when running in a straight line. | 0:20:30 | 0:20:33
Not quite so fast when it comes to agility, | 0:20:33 | 0:20:36
but they look as if they're enjoying it. | 0:20:36 | 0:20:38
Finally, Lucy, easing herself into things today. | 0:20:38 | 0:20:41
Billy's going for it through the tunnel. Back to Lucy. | 0:20:45 | 0:20:48
It is quite warm in the arena, no need to run, really. | 0:20:50 | 0:20:53
But the crowd are lapping it up. | 0:20:55 | 0:20:57
Onto obedience now. This is a test of staying power. | 0:20:59 | 0:21:03
So where do you think you're going? | 0:21:03 | 0:21:06
Oh, good! Good job. | 0:21:06 | 0:21:09
Yeah, yeah, well, most of them are being fairly obedient. | 0:21:09 | 0:21:14
Today's fabulous finale is a tightly choreographed formation set piece. | 0:21:19 | 0:21:24
A real crowd-pleaser. Ooh, a bit of spin going on here. | 0:21:24 | 0:21:28
Phwaw! Feel a bit dizzy after all that. Fantastic! | 0:21:39 | 0:21:43
You did brilliantly! They did so well. | 0:21:45 | 0:21:48
How long does it take you to teach greyhounds to do that? | 0:21:48 | 0:21:51
-Oh, quite a while. -Give them a big round of applause, everyone. | 0:21:51 | 0:21:54
APPLAUSE AND CHEERING | 0:21:54 | 0:21:57
Those greyhounds were just so obedient, but don't expect | 0:21:59 | 0:22:03
your dog to go that slow at home, I think it's virtually impossible. | 0:22:03 | 0:22:06
Listen up, the doc has spoken. Right now, though, it's Pet Squad. | 0:22:06 | 0:22:10
# Three happy pets One crazy goose, it all went bad | 0:22:12 | 0:22:15
# When the goose got loose Crazy times and that's the truth | 0:22:15 | 0:22:18
# Boo-boo-de-boo-de doo-doo doo-be-doo-doop | 0:22:18 | 0:22:20

I'll get you, Pet Squad! | 0:22:35 | 0:22:37
Oops. | 0:22:39 | 0:22:41 | |
SIREN WAILS | 0:22:53 | 0:22:56
Good work, Pet Squad. The alarm works. | 0:22:57 | 0:23:01
The Star of Egypt sapphire is safe against even the craftiest thieves. | 0:23:01 | 0:23:06
-Time to get a snackette, Dodge. -No, Bingo! | 0:23:06 | 0:23:10
Whoa! | 0:23:10 | 0:23:11 | |
-Oopsy. No harm done, Chief. -You've shorted out the whole system! | 0:23:12 | 0:23:19
-Which means? -Which means now I'm going to have to | 0:23:19 | 0:23:22
keep watch over the exhibit. This is not good. | 0:23:22 | 0:23:26
I'm going to need you guys back here at midnight to take over from me. | 0:23:26 | 0:23:29
Right? | 0:23:29 | 0:23:30
HE GASPS | 0:23:30 | 0:23:32
Yow! | 0:23:32 | 0:23:33 | |
BINGO GIGGLES | 0:23:33 | 0:23:35
Ooh, I've done it! | 0:23:35 | 0:23:37
Look, my latest invention, the most secure box in the world. | 0:23:37 | 0:23:42
Oh... | 0:23:42 | 0:23:43 | |
SNORING | 0:23:43 | 0:23:46
I'll wait till morning, eh? Night-night, pets. Dream sweet. | 0:23:48 | 0:23:54
-Wake up, boys, it's stake-out time. -Oh, just five more minutes, please. | 0:23:55 | 0:24:01

Hiiii-ya! | 0:24:47 | 0:24:49
Miaow. | 0:24:50 | 0:24:51
This is a dream, right? | 0:24:56 | 0:24:58
Whoop-whoop-whoopee! Thanks for the ride, Pepe. | 0:25:06 | 0:25:09
Oopsy. | 0:25:09 | 0:25:11
Ah-ha! I thought I heard you. | 0:25:12 | 0:25:15
Oh, uh...uh...ha-ha-ha. | 0:25:15 | 0:25:20
You know, these artefacts are priceless, so remember, anything | 0:25:20 | 0:25:24
happens to them and P-Town will hold Pet Squad personally responsible. | 0:25:24 | 0:25:29
All in safe hands. | 0:25:31 | 0:25:34
You can count on us, Chief D. | 0:25:34 | 0:25:37
BINGO SNORES | 0:25:37 | 0:25:38

What? | 0:25:42 | 0:25:44 | |
Dodge and I are going to do a patrol. You stay here and watch. | 0:25:46 | 0:25:50
-You see anything suspicious, roar. Can you do that? -Of course I can. | 0:25:50 | 0:25:55
I know what I need, a little snackette. | 0:25:59 | 0:26:03
Bones! | 0:26:10 | 0:26:12
Dodge, no bones tonight. | 0:26:13 | 0:26:16
Oh... | 0:26:16 | 0:26:18 | |
Hey, hey, it says here, | 0:26:19 | 0:26:22
"Queen Cleopatra's bust holds a clue to an even greater treasure." | 0:26:22 | 0:26:28
-BREAKING GLASS -Uh-oh. | 0:26:28 | 0:26:32
-What happened? Where's Bingo? -The sapphire! | 0:26:32 | 0:26:36
Bingo must have gone after the thief. | 0:26:38 | 0:26:40
Hey, guys, there's a blinding gift shop and the cafe is... | 0:26:40 | 0:26:45
Oh. | 0:26:45 | 0:26:47 | |
I asked you to do one simple thing! All you could think about is food. | 0:26:47 | 0:26:52
That's not true. I think about other stuff, too. | 0:26:52 | 0:26:56
-Like what? -Like, does anyone else fancy a nap? | 0:26:56 | 0:27:01
-A peacock feather. -The Fabulous Jonathan Peacock, master thief. | 0:27:02 | 0:27:06
Of course. | 0:27:06 | 0:27:08
HE SINGS | 0:27:08 | 0:27:10

-BOTH: -Bingo! | 0:27:26 | 0:27:28
I'll get you. | 0:27:28 | 0:27:30
HE SNORES | 0:27:30 | 0:27:32
Straight ahead. Pet Squad R go. | 0:27:36 | 0:27:40
Whoa! | 0:27:40 | 0:27:41 | |
CRASH! | 0:27:41 | 0:27:42
Tree. | 0:27:42 | 0:27:44 | |
Huh? Where am I? | 0:27:46 | 0:27:49
Oh! | 0:27:50 | 0:27:52 | |
Mother Goose's observatory. | 0:27:53 | 0:27:55
I should have known that old goose would be behind this. | 0:27:55 | 0:27:59
Ah! Oh. | 0:28:01 | 0:28:04
Chasing after crooks by day's bad enough, | 0:28:04 | 0:28:07
but in the middle of the night? What about my beauty sleep?! | 0:28:07 | 0:28:10
Well, well, well, look who dropped in. | 0:28:12 | 0:28:14
Hand over the Star of Egypt. | 0:28:14 | 0:28:17
-The what of where? -Don't play the innocent. | 0:28:17 | 0:28:21
The scent of peacock feathers led us here. | 0:28:21 | 0:28:24

Quick round of shakes and then home to bed? | 0:30:40 | 0:30:42
You bet, Bingo! | 0:30:42 | 0:30:44
About time! | 0:30:44 | 0:30:45
You watch the birdie, put that dress back where it came from, | 0:30:45 | 0:30:48

The Star of Egypt's where it should be, I see. | 0:31:34 | 0:31:37
Good work, Pet Squad. | 0:31:38 | 0:31:41
-HE GIGGLES -Any time, Chief. | 0:31:41 | 0:31:45
Come on, let's get out of here. | 0:31:45 | 0:31:48
HE GIGGLES NERVOUSLY | 0:31:48 | 0:31:49
HE SLURPS | 0:31:49 | 0:31:50
HE BURPS | 0:31:50 | 0:31:52
Finally! | 0:31:52 | 0:31:54
Oh, back to my old cell. | 0:31:56 | 0:31:59
But oh! | 0:31:59 | 0:32:01
How DID that darling diamond earring find its way onto me?! | 0:32:01 | 0:32:05
It's a mystery! | 0:32:05 | 0:32:06
SNORING | 0:32:09 | 0:32:11
Good morning, my pets! | 0:32:11 | 0:32:13
Still asleep? Just wait till you see this. | 0:32:13 | 0:32:17
The world's most secure box. | 0:32:17 | 0:32:21
Now, the key. I... | 0:32:21 | 0:32:22
I... I've locked the key inside. | 0:32:22 | 0:32:24
That IS a conundrum. | 0:32:25 | 0:32:27
I know! | 0:32:27 | 0:32:29
SNORING | 0:32:29 | 0:32:31
DRILLING | 0:32:32 | 0:32:34

I think you'll agree, that was a FABULOUS episode of Pet Squad. | 0:32:41 | 0:32:47
Don't you think? | 0:32:47 | 0:32:48
Stay tuned to find out how Claire's Trick Timers are getting on. | 0:32:49 | 0:32:53
But right now, we're At Home With Ashleigh And Pudsey. | 0:32:53 | 0:32:56
CHEERING AND APPLAUSE # I'm gonna make it to heaven | 0:33:00 | 0:33:04
# Baby, remember my name | 0:33:06 | 0:33:11
# Remember my name. # | 0:33:11 | 0:33:13
APPLAUSE | 0:33:13 | 0:33:15
You all right there, Pudsey? | 0:33:24 | 0:33:26
HE BARKS | 0:33:26 | 0:33:28
LAUGHTER | 0:33:30 | 0:33:32
HE GROWLS | 0:33:34 | 0:33:36
Welcome back to Trick Time, where our trainers have been practising | 0:33:42 | 0:33:46
training their dogs to walk backwards. | 0:33:46 | 0:33:48
Cassidy, bring Dave over here and show me how you're getting on. | 0:33:48 | 0:33:52
Come here. | 0:33:53 | 0:33:54
He's a bit distracted, isn't he? | 0:33:57 | 0:33:59
-Yeah. -You were doing some training earlier, and he was fine. | 0:33:59 | 0:34:02
Yeah, I think he's stressing a bit, like, he was crying earlier. | 0:34:02 | 0:34:05
He started licking and he was shaking a lot. | 0:34:05 | 0:34:08
I saw you were giving him nice long strokes, so... | 0:34:08 | 0:34:11
-It's the crowd, isn't it? -Yeah, I think so. | 0:34:11 | 0:34:13
Why don't you take him somewhere nice and quiet and see how you get on? | 0:34:13 | 0:34:17
-Yeah. -OK? -OK. -All right, thanks, Cassidy. | 0:34:17 | 0:34:20
The reason we sent Dave off is because he was getting a bit stressed | 0:34:20 | 0:34:23
with the crowd. In a situation like that, it's best to take your dog away | 0:34:23 | 0:34:27
from what's causing the stress, and give them some time out. | 0:34:27 | 0:34:30
-Lydia, do you want to show me what you can do? -OK. | 0:34:30 | 0:34:33
Back. | 0:34:33 | 0:34:35 | |
Oh, brilliant! | 0:34:35 | 0:34:36
-APPLAUSE -Good girl. | 0:34:36 | 0:34:38
Very good! | 0:34:38 | 0:34:39
So you've done step one and step two, so just practise a bit more, | 0:34:39 | 0:34:43
and maybe if you've got time, | 0:34:43 | 0:34:44
you can lead up to him backing up without you going with him, | 0:34:44 | 0:34:47
that would be great. | 0:34:47 | 0:34:49
-Amelia. -Hi. -How are you and Cookie getting on? | 0:34:49 | 0:34:51
OK, she... keeps trying to go to Mum. | 0:34:51 | 0:34:54
Are you going to show us what you can do? | 0:34:54 | 0:34:56
OK, we'll give it a go. Cookie! | 0:34:56 | 0:34:58
Cookie! | 0:34:58 | 0:35:00
Cookie! | 0:35:00 | 0:35:01
Come on, Cookie, back up. | 0:35:01 | 0:35:03
That's OK, there's a little step there. | 0:35:03 | 0:35:05
And Mum's there. Is that Mum behind you? | 0:35:07 | 0:35:09
-Yeah. -And does Cookie love Mum? -Yes, a lot! | 0:35:09 | 0:35:12
She's just staring at Mum! | 0:35:12 | 0:35:13
Mum better be careful, or we'll make Mum come on and do it. | 0:35:13 | 0:35:16
SHE LAUGHS | 0:35:16 | 0:35:18
So that's good, we're going to let them practise more, | 0:35:18 | 0:35:21
and see how they're getting on later, Here's what's to come on the show. | 0:35:21 | 0:35:24
APPLAUSE | 0:35:24 | 0:35:26
We'll be back at Dr Scott's corner for some audience questions. | 0:35:28 | 0:35:32
Three brave souls will take on the Who Let The Dogs Out time trial. | 0:35:32 | 0:35:36
Claire's knowledge of lurchers is put to the test in Challenge Claire. | 0:35:37 | 0:35:42
And we'll be treated to the best of Brighton's catwalking canines. | 0:35:42 | 0:35:46
Now, as we mentioned earlier, there is a secret code for you to unlock | 0:35:50 | 0:35:53
something amazing in the online game Bark Mania. | 0:35:53 | 0:35:56
If you missed it before, we've only got it again, haven't we? | 0:35:56 | 0:35:59
Yes, we have. Here they are. | 0:35:59 | 0:36:01
Dogfood, collar, paw print, stick. One more time. | 0:36:01 | 0:36:05
Dogfood, collar, paw print, stick. | 0:36:05 | 0:36:10
Remember you can use your code in Bark Mania to get something | 0:36:10 | 0:36:13
extra in the game. | 0:36:13 | 0:36:15
Now it's over to Dr Scott, as I think he's got a few questions to answer. | 0:36:15 | 0:36:18
Oh, well, thanks very much, ladies. | 0:36:23 | 0:36:25
I've got a hugely packed surgery today, | 0:36:25 | 0:36:27
so let's see what questions we've got. Hello there, Amy. | 0:36:27 | 0:36:30
-What's your dog's name? -Blue. -Blue. | 0:36:30 | 0:36:33
And what's your question today? | 0:36:33 | 0:36:34
What kind of human food is bad for dogs? | 0:36:34 | 0:36:37
Well, there's quite a few human foods that aren't great for dogs, actually. | 0:36:37 | 0:36:41
Onions, grapes, but particularly chocolate. | 0:36:41 | 0:36:43
Chocolate is quite poisonous to dogs, | 0:36:43 | 0:36:45
so if you've got chocolate at home, hide it away from Blue. All right? | 0:36:45 | 0:36:49
-Hello, Katie, how are you? -Fine. -That's cool. What's your dog's name? | 0:36:49 | 0:36:53
-Mabel. -Mabel. She's very cute. So you've got a question for me? -Yes. | 0:36:53 | 0:36:56
What is the safest bone for a dog to eat? | 0:36:56 | 0:36:59
Well, actually, I'd say the safest bone is none at all. | 0:36:59 | 0:37:02
Bones are quite dangerous to your dogs, and they can really get stuck | 0:37:02 | 0:37:06
into their mouths or in their stomachs. | 0:37:06 | 0:37:08
I've had to remove loads from dogs in the past, | 0:37:08 | 0:37:10
so the only ones you should be giving them are chewy ones | 0:37:10 | 0:37:13
that you get from the shops. All right? | 0:37:13 | 0:37:15
Hello there, Charlotte. So what's your question? | 0:37:15 | 0:37:18
Chloe won't eat her breakfast, but she will eat horse poo. Why is that? | 0:37:18 | 0:37:22
Oh, Chloe, that's disgraceful, isn't it? | 0:37:22 | 0:37:24
Well, horse poo has a really strong smell, | 0:37:24 | 0:37:27
and it has a really strong scent, and dogs like to smell bad, | 0:37:27 | 0:37:30
so that's why she's eating it outside. | 0:37:30 | 0:37:32
But if she's taking it inside, just really hold the food back. | 0:37:32 | 0:37:35
They can not eat for a couple of days, be absolutely fine, | 0:37:35 | 0:37:38
so don't let her get away with being too picky. | 0:37:38 | 0:37:40
And try and keep away from those horse field! Hello there. Jack. | 0:37:40 | 0:37:43
-I like your hat. -Thanks. -No worries. What's your dog's name? -Bruce. | 0:37:44 | 0:37:48
And what's your question? | 0:37:48 | 0:37:50
-My dog absolutely stinks. How can I stop him farting? -Right! | 0:37:50 | 0:37:53
That's a lovely question, Jack, thanks so much. | 0:37:53 | 0:37:56
the big thing is if he's got a lot of gas, | 0:37:56 | 0:37:58
it's probably because his diet doesn't suit him very well, | 0:37:58 | 0:38:01
so maybe look to a different type of food, | 0:38:01 | 0:38:03
and you might find that gas calms down a little. Let's hope so, anyway. | 0:38:03 | 0:38:07
-And last but not least, Elsie, hello there. -Hello. -Hi. | 0:38:07 | 0:38:09
-And what's your dog's name? -Frank. | 0:38:09 | 0:38:11
Frank, what an awesome name for a dog. | 0:38:11 | 0:38:13
Tell me, what's your question? | 0:38:13 | 0:38:16
My dog eats sand, sweet wrappers, burst balloons and ears | 0:38:16 | 0:38:22
and tails of teddies. | 0:38:22 | 0:38:24
Why does he do this and how can I stop him? | 0:38:24 | 0:38:26
Oh dear, it really sounds like he needs some help, doesn't it? | 0:38:26 | 0:38:29
Bless him! I think the sand might be him trying to get something | 0:38:29 | 0:38:32
he doesn't have in his diet, | 0:38:32 | 0:38:34
so make sure you check it's complete and balanced. | 0:38:34 | 0:38:36
As far as the rest of it, don't throw any birthday parties soon, | 0:38:36 | 0:38:40
just keep the balloons and the sweets away. | 0:38:40 | 0:38:42
And your toys, by the sounds of it. There you go. | 0:38:42 | 0:38:44
Some awesome and slightly bizarre questions, but in the meantime, | 0:38:44 | 0:38:48
back to you, Kate. | 0:38:48 | 0:38:49
Next up, a story of love, a story of romance, in fact, | 0:38:49 | 0:38:52
it's so in motion or that even just thinking about it makes me... | 0:38:52 | 0:38:56
I'm sorry, it's just such a happy day! | 0:38:56 | 0:38:59
WEDDING MARCH PLAYS | 0:39:01 | 0:39:05
We all remember Kate and Wills getting hitched. | 0:39:14 | 0:39:17
It was the society event of the decade, and was I invited? | 0:39:17 | 0:39:21
No, I wasn't. But don't worry, | 0:39:21 | 0:39:23
I've been invited to the biggest society wedding of this year. | 0:39:23 | 0:39:26
That is Rocco and Molly. | 0:39:26 | 0:39:28
Now, when the celebrity world heard about this wedding, | 0:39:28 | 0:39:31
they went into a frenzy of excitement, | 0:39:31 | 0:39:33
and the race was on to get the exclusive rights for the big day. | 0:39:33 | 0:39:36
And who got those rights? Oh yes, yours truly! | 0:39:36 | 0:39:39
Who Let The Dogs Out And About | 0:39:39 | 0:39:40
has got access all areas to this amazing wedding. | 0:39:40 | 0:39:43
The guests are starting to arrive and the excitement is building. | 0:39:45 | 0:39:49
This is no ordinary wedding. Firstly, it's taking place in a cattery. | 0:39:49 | 0:39:53
That's a holiday home for cats. | 0:39:53 | 0:39:55
Even more amazingly, this isn't a human wedding. | 0:39:55 | 0:39:59
Oh, no, this is the dog wedding. That's right, a dog wedding, | 0:39:59 | 0:40:02
and Molly is a Labrador, and Rocco is a spaniel. | 0:40:02 | 0:40:06
Time to meet the organisers. | 0:40:06 | 0:40:08
Abi and Colisha, | 0:40:08 | 0:40:09
to find out why their pet pooches are getting hitched. | 0:40:09 | 0:40:13
So how long have you guys known each other? | 0:40:13 | 0:40:16
-For about two years. -Two years? And are you best friends. -Yeah. -Yeah. | 0:40:16 | 0:40:20
Oh, and that's so nice that your dogs are getting married. | 0:40:20 | 0:40:23
I've just had a little look over here. | 0:40:23 | 0:40:25
-This is part of her wedding outfit, isn't it? -Yes. -Yes. | 0:40:25 | 0:40:27
-Does she love pink? -Yeah. -Is the whole outfit pink? -Yeah. -Yeah. | 0:40:27 | 0:40:31
Core cities! Pink and white, perfect for the big day. | 0:40:31 | 0:40:34
-So, guys, I think it's time to get the bride dressed, don't you? -Yes. | 0:40:34 | 0:40:38
-Yes. -Brilliant, let's get started! | 0:40:38 | 0:40:40
It's all in the detail. | 0:40:44 | 0:40:46
Rocco and Molly first fell in love when Abi and Colisha took them | 0:40:46 | 0:40:49
for long walks in the local park, | 0:40:49 | 0:40:51
which has led to today's happy celebrations. | 0:40:51 | 0:40:54
Waggy tails all round! | 0:40:54 | 0:40:55
This is Anne, who's going to be marrying the lovestruck pair, | 0:40:55 | 0:40:59
but she doesn't just marry dogs. | 0:40:59 | 0:41:00
She has also married cats and rabbits. | 0:41:00 | 0:41:04
Dog weddings are popular worldwide and can be serious business. | 0:41:04 | 0:41:08
One recent dog wedding in America cost a staggering 250,000. | 0:41:08 | 0:41:12
Not only am I at the wedding of the year, | 0:41:12 | 0:41:14
I've got the best seat in the house. | 0:41:14 | 0:41:16
And I'll be giving you, dear CBBC viewer, | 0:41:16 | 0:41:18
the full wedding commentary fitting for such an occasion. | 0:41:18 | 0:41:21
Rocco is certainly keen to get things under way. | 0:41:21 | 0:41:26
And here comes the bride. What an entrance! And what a dress! | 0:41:26 | 0:41:30
And now, time for their doggy vows, read by Abi and Colisha. | 0:41:30 | 0:41:35
Dear Miss Molly, where new bounded into my life, | 0:41:37 | 0:41:40
you knocked me off my paws, and they haven't touched the ground since. | 0:41:40 | 0:41:44
I promise I will be there for you, I will cuddle up beside you | 0:41:44 | 0:41:47
when you have bad dreams. | 0:41:47 | 0:41:49
I will teach you how to play tricks, and to catch. | 0:41:49 | 0:41:52
I'm really good at catching, did you know that? | 0:41:52 | 0:41:56
From today, our eight legs become four. I will be yours now for ever. | 0:41:56 | 0:42:00
Rocco, I stand here today in front of our doggy friends | 0:42:02 | 0:42:05
and humans, to tell them how much you mean to me. | 0:42:05 | 0:42:09
Since we met, my life is full of excitement. | 0:42:09 | 0:42:12
Every time I see you, my tail wags. | 0:42:12 | 0:42:14
I'm looking forward to a lifetime of licking and cuddles and snuggles. | 0:42:14 | 0:42:21
Do you, Rocco, take Molly to be your partner? | 0:42:21 | 0:42:24
To protect her, love her | 0:42:24 | 0:42:26
and play together as long as you both shall live? | 0:42:26 | 0:42:29
I do. | 0:42:29 | 0:42:30 | |
Do you, Molly, take Rocco to be your partner? | 0:42:30 | 0:42:33
To share bones, toys and your kennel, | 0:42:33 | 0:42:36
to cuddle up to him as long as you both shall live? | 0:42:36 | 0:42:39
I do. | 0:42:39 | 0:42:40 | |
#..Hey baby | 0:42:44 | 0:42:46
# I think I wanna marry you... # | 0:42:46 | 0:42:49
As we are all upstanding, will you all bark | 0:42:49 | 0:42:53
and wag your tales for your bride and groom. | 0:42:53 | 0:42:59
APPLAUSE AND CHEERING | 0:42:59 | 0:43:01
With the ceremony complete, it's time for the wedding cake. | 0:43:10 | 0:43:13
Special doggy wedding cake. Seems to be going down a treat. | 0:43:13 | 0:43:17
Let's hope the human cake is just as tasty. | 0:43:17 | 0:43:19
My favourite part, the cake! | 0:43:19 | 0:43:21
Actually, this isn't the dog cake, is it? No, OK, good. | 0:43:25 | 0:43:30
You sure it's not... OK, great. | 0:43:30 | 0:43:32
Mmm! | 0:43:33 | 0:43:35 | |
Really tastes like chicken, though. | 0:43:35 | 0:43:37
CHEERING AND APPLAUSE | 0:43:37 | 0:43:39
With the celebrations drawing to a close, | 0:43:43 | 0:43:46
the newlyweds head off into the sunset, | 0:43:46 | 0:43:48
but I wonder where they might go on their honeymoon? | 0:43:48 | 0:43:51
Bark-bados or maybe the Canine Islands? | 0:43:51 | 0:43:54
Bye! | 0:43:55 | 0:43:57 | |
I wish them a very happy future together. | 0:43:57 | 0:44:00
CHEERING AND APPLAUSE | 0:44:07 | 0:44:09
Are you OK, Scott? | 0:44:09 | 0:44:12
I can honestly say that I have never seen | 0:44:12 | 0:44:15
anything like that in my entire life. | 0:44:15 | 0:44:18
-It was so beautiful! -HE SOBS | 0:44:18 | 0:44:22
OK... | 0:44:22 | 0:44:24 | |
Here's Time Trial. | 0:44:24 | 0:44:26
HE SOBS | 0:44:26 | 0:44:27
CHEERING AND APPLAUSE | 0:44:27 | 0:44:29
Yes, I'm here getting ready for the ultimate in dog agility. | 0:44:35 | 0:44:38
This is the Who Let The Dogs Out And About Time Trial. | 0:44:38 | 0:44:41
But we don't have real dogs doing this, oh no, my friends, | 0:44:41 | 0:44:44
instead, we've got humans dressed as dogs. | 0:44:44 | 0:44:46
They'll be taking on the biggest time challenge | 0:44:46 | 0:44:49
in humans dressed as dogs doing agility history, ever. | 0:44:49 | 0:44:53
They'll be taking it in turns to go around our amazing agility course. | 0:44:53 | 0:44:57
The course... | 0:44:57 | 0:44:58
First up, the Poles of Peril. | 0:44:58 | 0:45:01
Competitors must weave their way through. Then, the Seesaw of Sorrow. | 0:45:01 | 0:45:06
Getting over safely is trickier than it looks. | 0:45:06 | 0:45:08
Next, the Mat of Mayhem. | 0:45:08 | 0:45:11
Competitors must freestyle for three seconds. | 0:45:11 | 0:45:14
Over the Hurdles of Hurt. | 0:45:14 | 0:45:16
They're not high, but be careful. And finally, the Tunnel of Terror. | 0:45:16 | 0:45:20
But remember, take the big bone with you, or your time won't count. | 0:45:20 | 0:45:24
We will, of course, have our marshals standing by, | 0:45:24 | 0:45:27
keeping the official time. Marshal, are you ready? | 0:45:27 | 0:45:29
Take your position, please. | 0:45:29 | 0:45:31
First up, Tegan the Whippet. | 0:45:31 | 0:45:33
A speedy breed, she is one to watch. | 0:45:33 | 0:45:36
Let's do this. In three, two, one, go! | 0:45:38 | 0:45:41
WHISTLE BLOWS | 0:45:41 | 0:45:42
Tegan the Whippet whips away through the Poles of Peril | 0:45:42 | 0:45:45
with some fancy floorwork there. | 0:45:45 | 0:45:48
Taking her time as she does a little dance, | 0:45:48 | 0:45:50
and she's onto the Seesaw of Sorrow. | 0:45:50 | 0:45:52
Steady, steady... | 0:45:52 | 0:45:54
Nicely done. Now what's she going to do? | 0:45:54 | 0:45:57
She's chasing her tail, I think, | 0:45:57 | 0:45:59
or is she looking for a lost contact lens? I don't know. | 0:45:59 | 0:46:01
Over the Hurdles of Hurt. Beautifully done. | 0:46:01 | 0:46:04
Now, final part of the course, | 0:46:04 | 0:46:06
pick up the bone and through the Tunnel of Terror. | 0:46:06 | 0:46:09
Now, with tips have very small feet compared to their body size, | 0:46:09 | 0:46:12
but that hasn't stopped this whippet whipping around the course | 0:46:12 | 0:46:16
in a time of 33.61 seconds. | 0:46:16 | 0:46:18
APPLAUSE | 0:46:18 | 0:46:20
Next, Cally the Rottweiler. | 0:46:22 | 0:46:24
Let's hope the rot doesn't set in with her today. | 0:46:24 | 0:46:28
In three, two, one, go! | 0:46:28 | 0:46:31
WHISTLE BLOWS | 0:46:31 | 0:46:33
And Cally is off to a flying start there, rot about that? Get it? | 0:46:33 | 0:46:37
Rottweiler, rot... Oh, never mind. | 0:46:37 | 0:46:39
She's onto the Seesaw of Sorrow, and she's gliding over that beautifully. | 0:46:39 | 0:46:43
What's she going to do on the Mat of Mayhem? | 0:46:43 | 0:46:45
Ooh, she's got some itchy ears, | 0:46:45 | 0:46:46
she's going to give them a good old scratch. | 0:46:46 | 0:46:49
Over the Hurdles of hurt, look at her go! | 0:46:49 | 0:46:51
I've never seen a rottweiler run so fast. | 0:46:51 | 0:46:53
Now, they are apparently supposed to be a very clever breed, | 0:46:53 | 0:46:57
but judging by Cally, they're also pretty quick dog, too. | 0:46:57 | 0:47:00
She's across the finish line with 28.97 seconds. | 0:47:00 | 0:47:04
APPLAUSE | 0:47:05 | 0:47:08
Finally, Chloe the Golden Retriever. | 0:47:09 | 0:47:12
Will she be going for gold? | 0:47:12 | 0:47:14
In three, two, one, go! | 0:47:14 | 0:47:18
WHISTLE BLOWS | 0:47:18 | 0:47:20
And Chloe is off to a flying start there as she uses her nimble paws | 0:47:20 | 0:47:24
to work her way through the Poles of Peril. | 0:47:24 | 0:47:27
And she's gliding over the Seesaw there onto the Mat of Mayhem, | 0:47:27 | 0:47:30
what's she going to do? | 0:47:30 | 0:47:32
Ooh, I think she's swimming. | 0:47:32 | 0:47:34
This breed apparently loves water, so yes, I'm saying she is swimming. | 0:47:34 | 0:47:38
And she absolutely loves hurdles, too, | 0:47:38 | 0:47:40
looking at the way she tackled those. Nicely done, Chloe. | 0:47:40 | 0:47:43
Final part of the agility course now, | 0:47:43 | 0:47:45
and she's working her way steadily through the Tunnel of Terror. | 0:47:45 | 0:47:48
And she's across the line! | 0:47:48 | 0:47:51
CHEERING | 0:47:51 | 0:47:53
So all three dogs have completed the course. | 0:47:58 | 0:48:00
But I know what you want to know. Who was the fastest? | 0:48:00 | 0:48:03
Well, only the marshal can tell us that, | 0:48:03 | 0:48:05
so marshal, please, what are the results? | 0:48:05 | 0:48:08
Thank you. Ooh! I can reveal that today's winner is... | 0:48:08 | 0:48:11
PANTING | 0:48:13 | 0:48:15
..Cally! | 0:48:21 | 0:48:23
CHEERING Congratulations! | 0:48:23 | 0:48:25
That was a fantastic performance. We've got a medal for you. | 0:48:25 | 0:48:28
How great is that? | 0:48:28 | 0:48:30
Join us next time to see more humans dressed as dogs doing agility. | 0:48:30 | 0:48:33
It's bye for now. | 0:48:33 | 0:48:36
CHEERING AND APPLAUSE | 0:48:36 | 0:48:37
The cutest puppy on the fluffiest pillow. This is Puppy On A Pillow. | 0:48:42 | 0:48:48
# Rollin', rollin, rollin'... # | 0:48:48 | 0:48:50
Meet Dirty Harry Callahan. Harry to his puppy pals. | 0:48:50 | 0:48:54
The bravest little Staffordshire terrier in all the West... | 0:48:54 | 0:48:58
of Staffordshire, probably. | 0:48:58 | 0:49:00
And who's this? Hey. It's little mighty Whitey, and tiny Dancer. | 0:49:00 | 0:49:05
They are six-week-old Staffie pups. Yeah, yeah! | 0:49:05 | 0:49:09
I sense a cute puppy showdown a-coming up. | 0:49:09 | 0:49:12
All right, bring it on, Mister, bring it on! | 0:49:12 | 0:49:15
#..Through rain and wind and weather | 0:49:15 | 0:49:18
# Hell-bent for leather... # | 0:49:18 | 0:49:20
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, all right, we get it. On with the show. | 0:49:20 | 0:49:24
CHEERING AND APPLAUSE | 0:49:24 | 0:49:27
And there'll be more puppies next time. | 0:49:27 | 0:49:31
But now, it's time for the UK's number one doggy quiz. | 0:49:31 | 0:49:34
It's Challenge Claire! | 0:49:34 | 0:49:35
CHEERING AND APPLAUSE | 0:49:40 | 0:49:42
And today's challenge is Abi. Hi, Abi. Welcome to the show. | 0:49:43 | 0:49:47
And she's brought along her lovely lurcher, Pepsi. | 0:49:47 | 0:49:50
-Can we get a big "aah" for Pepsi? -Aah... | 0:49:50 | 0:49:54
APPLAUSE | 0:49:54 | 0:49:55
Abi, how are you feeling today? | 0:49:56 | 0:49:58
-Nervous. -Nervous? Don't be nervous. Be cool, calm, confident. | 0:49:58 | 0:50:02
-And have you been doing your homework on lurchers? -Yeah. | 0:50:02 | 0:50:05
Yes, that's what I want to hear. You'll need to do your homework | 0:50:05 | 0:50:08
to stand a chance against our doggy brainiac, Claire. | 0:50:08 | 0:50:11
But first things first, let's test those buzzers. Claire? | 0:50:11 | 0:50:15
SQUEAKING | 0:50:15 | 0:50:16
Nice! And Abi goes... | 0:50:16 | 0:50:18
SQUEAKING | 0:50:18 | 0:50:19
Brilliant! Right. On with the quiz. | 0:50:19 | 0:50:21
Can you get a pure bred lurcher? SQUEAKING | 0:50:21 | 0:50:24
-No! -Claire? | 0:50:24 | 0:50:26
You cannot get a purebred lurcher, | 0:50:26 | 0:50:28
because lurchers are made up of sighthounds and another dog. | 0:50:28 | 0:50:31
SHE GASPS She's right! | 0:50:31 | 0:50:32
APPLAUSE AND CHEERING | 0:50:32 | 0:50:35
Where do lurchers originate from? SQUEAKING | 0:50:35 | 0:50:37
-Abi? -Great Britain and Ireland. -Absolutely right, everybody! | 0:50:37 | 0:50:41
CHEERING AND APPLAUSE | 0:50:41 | 0:50:43
The Norfolk Lurcher is said to be the forefather of the modern lurcher. | 0:50:43 | 0:50:47
Interesting. | 0:50:47 | 0:50:48
True or false..? | 0:50:48 | 0:50:49
Lurchers are being bred with huskies. | 0:50:49 | 0:50:51
SQUEAKING | 0:50:51 | 0:50:53
Abi? CLAIRE LAUGHS | 0:50:53 | 0:50:54
False. | 0:50:54 | 0:50:55
-I'm going to hand it over. -It's true. | 0:50:55 | 0:50:57
They're making them go faster to pull the sledges faster. | 0:50:57 | 0:51:00
Absolutely right, it is true. | 0:51:00 | 0:51:02
APPLAUSE | 0:51:02 | 0:51:04
Why were lurchers bred the way they were? | 0:51:04 | 0:51:06
SQUEAKING Abi? | 0:51:06 | 0:51:07
-For hunting. -Absolutely right, yes! Hunting and poaching. | 0:51:07 | 0:51:11
CHEERING AND APPLAUSE | 0:51:11 | 0:51:13
True or false? A lurcher is the same as a longdog. | 0:51:13 | 0:51:18
SQUEAKING Claire. | 0:51:18 | 0:51:19
A longdog is two sighthounds crossed together, | 0:51:19 | 0:51:21
a lurcher is a sight hound and any other breed. | 0:51:21 | 0:51:23
That's right. So it's false. | 0:51:23 | 0:51:25
She's right. | 0:51:25 | 0:51:26
APPLAUSE | 0:51:26 | 0:51:28
And that's the end of the quiz. | 0:51:28 | 0:51:29
And I can reveal that the winner of today's Challenge Claire, | 0:51:29 | 0:51:33
and I have to say, it was so close, the winner is Claire. | 0:51:33 | 0:51:37
Yay! | 0:51:37 | 0:51:38 | |
SHE LAUGHS | 0:51:38 | 0:51:39
Abi, you did so well, though. Congratulations. | 0:51:39 | 0:51:42
-Have you had a good time taking part? -Abi, you did really well. | 0:51:42 | 0:51:45
-And who learned a lot about lurchers? AUDIENCE: -Yes! -Yeah, I did! | 0:51:45 | 0:51:48
Right, now, though, it's time for some more of Brighton's dog tails. | 0:51:48 | 0:51:53
Time to hear what our Brighton audience have to say | 0:51:53 | 0:51:56
about their canine companions. | 0:51:56 | 0:51:58
Hi, my name's Keenan and I'm 12 years old. | 0:51:58 | 0:52:00
And my funny story is, | 0:52:00 | 0:52:01
when we went to look at some camper vans in 2009 in Rye, | 0:52:01 | 0:52:05
one of my other dogs, called said, decided to wee up a man's leg | 0:52:05 | 0:52:08
because he thought it looked like a tree. | 0:52:08 | 0:52:11
Hi, my name is Charlotte, and this is my dog, Dave. | 0:52:11 | 0:52:15
The funniest thing was when he ran away and we tried to call him back | 0:52:15 | 0:52:21
and he just stuck his tongue out and ran away again. | 0:52:21 | 0:52:25
Hi, I'm Phoebe, and this is my friend. | 0:52:25 | 0:52:27
-I'm Leon. -And this is my dog, Lola. | 0:52:27 | 0:52:30
The funny thing about her is | 0:52:30 | 0:52:32
because when she once was trying to stop herself from falling over, | 0:52:32 | 0:52:36
she used her chin to stop herself and then did a roly-poly. | 0:52:36 | 0:52:39
Hi, my name is Bryn, and this is my dog, Omar, | 0:52:39 | 0:52:42
and the funny thing about Omar is that when everyone's in the bath, | 0:52:42 | 0:52:46
he tries to jump in with them. | 0:52:46 | 0:52:48
Every Monday, Wilbur goes in the bin, but it's always every Monday. | 0:52:48 | 0:52:54
And he grabs stuff out, knocks the bin over, | 0:52:54 | 0:52:56
and then it's all over the floor, and then Ellie joins in. | 0:52:56 | 0:52:59
ALL: Bye! | 0:52:59 | 0:53:01
Welcome back to Trick Time, where we're about to find out | 0:53:05 | 0:53:08
which of our trainers have mastered walking backwards. | 0:53:08 | 0:53:11
Earlier, Dave was getting a bit stressed with the crowd, | 0:53:11 | 0:53:14
so Cathy has taken him away somewhere quiet. | 0:53:14 | 0:53:16
She didn't want to bring him back in here with all the crowds. | 0:53:16 | 0:53:19
So he's just chilling out. | 0:53:19 | 0:53:20
But we've got Lydia and Amelia here to show us what they can do. | 0:53:20 | 0:53:24
I've just seen Ashley over here. Ashley, come and help me judge. | 0:53:24 | 0:53:27
Yay! | 0:53:27 | 0:53:29 | |
-All right, so we're going to see Lydia first. -OK then. | 0:53:29 | 0:53:33
This is Lydia and Ginny. | 0:53:33 | 0:53:35
-Good luck! -Good luck, Lydia. | 0:53:35 | 0:53:37
Ginny! Back. | 0:53:37 | 0:53:39
Back. | 0:53:39 | 0:53:41 | |
-Back... -Hey, that's pretty good! -Yeah. Well done! | 0:53:42 | 0:53:45
APPLAUSE | 0:53:45 | 0:53:47
All right, Amelia. Let's see what Cookie can do. | 0:53:49 | 0:53:53
Cookie! Walk back. | 0:53:54 | 0:53:56
Cookie! Cookie, walk back. | 0:53:56 | 0:53:59
-Cookie, walk back. -Excellent. -I think she's seen her mum. | 0:54:00 | 0:54:03
Yeah, I know! | 0:54:03 | 0:54:04
-THEY LAUGH -Cookie, walk back. | 0:54:04 | 0:54:06
-I reckon she got a couple of steps going. -Yeah! -Pretty good. | 0:54:08 | 0:54:13
Oh, there we go, there we go. | 0:54:13 | 0:54:14
APPLAUSE Yeah, well done. | 0:54:14 | 0:54:16
-But obviously there can only be one... -Oh, I can't pick one! | 0:54:19 | 0:54:23
They're so cute! | 0:54:23 | 0:54:25
I think... | 0:54:25 | 0:54:27
Yeah, they went the furthest, didn't they, Lydia and Ginny. | 0:54:27 | 0:54:30
You both did brilliantly, but Lydia, I think you won that one. | 0:54:30 | 0:54:33
-Give her a round of applause. -Well done! | 0:54:33 | 0:54:35
-APPLAUSE -Give them all a round of applause. | 0:54:35 | 0:54:37
Some top training tips again this week, well done, guys. | 0:54:42 | 0:54:45
But remember, keep practising at home, cos you could be just as good. | 0:54:45 | 0:54:49
One day, I might be that good if I keep practising! | 0:54:49 | 0:54:51
But now it's time to see some of the best dressed dogs in Brighton. | 0:54:51 | 0:54:54
It's Catwalking Canines! | 0:54:54 | 0:54:56
So first up, let's get the party started with 13-year-old Jasmine | 0:55:00 | 0:55:03
and her bulldog, Baby Grace. | 0:55:03 | 0:55:05
They've come dressed as Pink and her backing singer. | 0:55:05 | 0:55:08
Now, Baby Grace likes to show off her rock moves | 0:55:08 | 0:55:11
and hopes one day to impress record producer Will.i.am | 0:55:11 | 0:55:14
with her micro-bone skills. Well done. | 0:55:14 | 0:55:17
Next up, we have 12-year-old Cian and Fenton, his Jack Russell, | 0:55:18 | 0:55:22
and they're cutting the mustard as a pair of hot dogs. | 0:55:22 | 0:55:26
Fenton has a bun-dle of toys to chew on in his house, | 0:55:26 | 0:55:30
but he relishes having a munch on the sofa rather than his toys. | 0:55:30 | 0:55:33
What a silly sausage he is! | 0:55:33 | 0:55:36
And now we have nine-year-old Susie with her labradoodle Stanley. | 0:55:36 | 0:55:40
And they're dressed as Supergirl and Superman. Loving the pants. | 0:55:40 | 0:55:43
Now, just as Superman has Clark Kent as his alter ego, | 0:55:43 | 0:55:46
Stanley has one, too. | 0:55:46 | 0:55:48
He likes to think he's a cat, and pesters them to play with him. | 0:55:48 | 0:55:51
But they have their very own kryptonite - their claws. | 0:55:51 | 0:55:54
GROWLS | 0:55:54 | 0:55:55
Next up, we have 12-year-old Reema and his border collie Bob, | 0:55:55 | 0:55:59
and they've come dressed as Brighton and Hove Albion FC's mascot, Gully! | 0:55:59 | 0:56:03
Ooh! That's a tough one to say. | 0:56:03 | 0:56:07
Now, this dog might not be Steven Sea-gull, | 0:56:07 | 0:56:09
but he's definitely an action hero. He loves jumping and playing fetch. | 0:56:09 | 0:56:14
Maybe he's practising to take over from goalkeeper Peter Brezovan. | 0:56:14 | 0:56:18
And finally, we have 13-year-old Ryan with Angel Star the bulldog. | 0:56:18 | 0:56:22
What a dapper-looking chap. | 0:56:22 | 0:56:24
They've come dressed as James Bond and one of his Bond girls. | 0:56:24 | 0:56:27
Now, Angel Star likes to help out with odd jobs around the house. | 0:56:27 | 0:56:30
She takes the laundry out into the back garden. | 0:56:30 | 0:56:33
The only thing is, sometimes, it's the clean washing she drags out. | 0:56:33 | 0:56:36
Maybe she's a double agent. Duh-duh-duh! | 0:56:36 | 0:56:39
Give it up for our Catwalking Canines! | 0:56:39 | 0:56:42
CHEERING AND APPLAUSE | 0:56:42 | 0:56:44
Well done, guys, you were brilliant! | 0:56:48 | 0:56:50
So that's us, it's almost the end of the show, | 0:56:53 | 0:56:56
a huge thanks to all you guys for taking part. | 0:56:56 | 0:56:59
And a big thanks to you guys, the audience. | 0:56:59 | 0:57:02
Give yourselves a round of applause! | 0:57:02 | 0:57:04
CHEERING AND APPLAUSE | 0:57:04 | 0:57:05
Brighton rocks! | 0:57:05 | 0:57:08
We'll see you soon. Take care, bye! | 0:57:08 | 0:57:10
Tune in next time when the roadshow will be stopping off in Glasgow... | 0:57:13 | 0:57:16
Kate gets rescued from a snow hole up a mountain... | 0:57:18 | 0:57:21
Clare will be teaching three young trainers and their dogs | 0:57:23 | 0:57:26
a new trick... | 0:57:26 | 0:57:27
And over in the agility arena, things get a little quackers. | 0:57:27 | 0:57:32
See you then! | 0:57:32 | 0:57:33
