From that age Hayley's been caught in an extreme cycle

Research shows girls who diet are 12 times more likely to binge-eat

which can lead to eating disorders.

I was working at a supermarket and the house was completely empty,

my parents were away. I ended up getting a big bag of Doritos

that are meant to be shared and dip,

And I'd eat it all within about three hours

and then I'd wait and then I'd start again.

After that, unsurprisingly, I was sick for quite a few hours.

For Hayley, food became a distraction from her problems.

As you start to eat it's a feeling of relief that you've finally

And there's a good biological reason for this.
