The National Lottery Awards 2012, live from London's South Bank. Now,

:00:54.:01:04.
:01:04.:01:08.

please welcome your host for the Hello and welcome to our ninth year

:01:08.:01:11.

of celebrating the amazing good causes funded by the National

:01:11.:01:16.

Lottery. Tonight, we will also be bringing you the live Lotto

:01:16.:01:20.

rollover draw and Thunderball and Plus 5 results. Performing a track

:01:21.:01:24.

from her brand new album for this show we have the amazing Leona

:01:24.:01:31.

Lewis. The National Lottery played a small part in something pretty

:01:31.:01:35.

exciting that happened in London this summer. We will be celebrating

:01:35.:01:40.

with some of our Olympic and Paralympic heroes. Since the

:01:40.:01:44.

National Lottery was launched in the UK 18 years ago, over 29

:01:44.:01:48.

billion has been given to good causes. Some amazing people have

:01:48.:01:52.

done amazing things with that money. That is enough from me. If you

:01:52.:01:55.

still need convincing what a difference National Lottery funding

:01:55.:02:03.

makes, take a look at this. Without Lottery funding, this wouldn't have

:02:03.:02:07.

been possible. Sometimes you lose the connection between doing the

:02:07.:02:11.

Lottery and what it produces at the end of the line. It's giving

:02:11.:02:16.

reality to people's dreams. I've had the best four years ever in my

:02:16.:02:21.

life. It's good to know that our sacrifice has not been forgotten.

:02:21.:02:25.

Plants keep us alive. We need to look after nature for our children

:02:25.:02:29.

and our children's children. I love coming here. It keeps me fit. I've

:02:29.:02:35.

made lots of friends. It's me realise you can turn yourself

:02:35.:02:40.

around and create a positive impact on the community. I'm going to be

:02:40.:02:45.

an astronaut. National Lottery funding changes lives. I am an

:02:45.:02:53.

example of that. I'm ambition. I am going to have a good job. Isn't it

:02:53.:02:58.

amazing! I love skateboarding because it gives me ambition to try

:02:58.:03:04.

new things. It's dangerous to be forgotten. I used to have no hope,

:03:04.:03:14.
:03:14.:03:49.

no hope. Now, I have both. Next CHEERING AND APPLAUSE

:03:49.:03:52.

Amazing what incredible work. Over the past few months, you have been

:03:52.:03:57.

voting for your favourite good cause to find the winners of the

:03:57.:04:00.

National Lottery Awards in association with the Daily

:04:00.:04:04.

Telegraph. Your votes have been counted and verified. Tonight is a

:04:04.:04:08.

celebration of those worthy winners. So, let's get to our first award of

:04:08.:04:13.

the night, which is for Charity and Voluntary. To present this we have

:04:13.:04:20.

a talented voicalist and member of a pretty famous girl band, it's

:04:20.:04:30.

Melanie C -- vocalist. APPLAUSE

:04:30.:04:33.

The project in this category were extremely varied. The winner is a

:04:33.:04:38.

stunning project. This is why. Imagine you are alone, penniless

:04:38.:04:43.

and on the street. It could happen to any one of us. Then imagine

:04:43.:04:47.

someone coming along and offering you a meal and a warm bed in their

:04:47.:04:57.
:04:57.:04:59.

home. The charity and voluntary award goes to New Forest Nightstop.

:04:59.:05:05.

APPLAUSE Let's see how they have made a

:05:05.:05:08.

difference. New Forest Nightstop is the only provider of emergency

:05:08.:05:13.

accommodation for young people in the New Forest. We do think through

:05:13.:05:15.

homes of trained and approved volunteer that is offer a spare

:05:15.:05:22.

room to a young person in need. People are quite surprised that

:05:22.:05:24.

homelessness exists in the New Forest because it's generally

:05:24.:05:31.

perceived as a city issue. My mum got re-married and he didn't want

:05:31.:05:41.

me and I ended up on the streets. I was hungry and alone and depressed

:05:41.:05:51.
:05:51.:05:51.

and tired. People would just be like "are you an asylum seeker? I'm

:05:51.:05:59.

goings, no, I'm Katie. I'm just a young girl who is so lost and your'

:05:59.:06:07.

not listening." I ended up on the streets mainly because of a few

:06:07.:06:10.

incidents with my dad. At some points I would be in a corner

:06:10.:06:16.

crying my eyes out thinking - what can I eat? What can I do with

:06:16.:06:21.

myself? Where can I go? I couldn't tell my friends I had been kicked

:06:21.:06:25.

out. It makes you think to yourself - what have I done to deserve this?

:06:25.:06:30.

I've lost everything. We give them, I think some warmth. We give them a

:06:30.:06:36.

meal, if they want one. They have a room. Most of the time, they want

:06:36.:06:43.

to talk. It put a roof over my head a lovely atmosphere. It feels like

:06:43.:06:49.

a family than people looking after you. Night Stop got me a doctor,

:06:49.:06:54.

counselling, training, and most of all, a home. I still think to

:06:54.:06:57.

myself, what would I have done without them? It's good to get

:06:58.:07:03.

across the fact of what opening a koor door is, putting a meal on a

:07:03.:07:08.

table and giving someone a bed, how that transforms things for a young

:07:08.:07:13.

person. That is what Night Stop does. I get to dream because of

:07:13.:07:23.

Night Stop. It's priceless. So, yes!

:07:23.:07:27.

APPLAUSE There you go.

:07:27.:07:33.

APPLAUSE I'd just like to thank every single

:07:34.:07:38.

person that voted for us. It really demonstrates the support from the

:07:38.:07:44.

community for our work and thank you for the vital funds from the

:07:44.:07:47.

Lottery that enabled this work and our dedicated team of volunteers

:07:47.:07:51.

who have opened their doors to vulnerable, homeless young people.

:07:51.:07:55.

This is saving lives and this make it is worth it.

:07:55.:08:05.
:08:05.:08:09.

Our next category is Heritage. We have someone who feels strongly

:08:09.:08:15.

about traditional skills. Once described as the Simon Cowell of

:08:15.:08:23.

baking, from the Great British Bake Off, please welcome Paul Hollywood.

:08:23.:08:30.

When John said, Heritage, you thought of prue sames, archives and

:08:31.:08:36.

Mary Berry. Sorry, Mary, the National Lottery funds much wider

:08:36.:08:42.

range of projects. This year's winner was a beautiful building

:08:42.:08:46.

falling into ruin. Thanks to the vision of two friends, it has been

:08:46.:08:51.

restored to its former glory. The award for Heritage goes to...

:08:51.:08:57.

Durlston Castle. APPLAUSE

:08:57.:09:07.
:09:07.:09:07.

Let's take a look. Situated along Durlston coastline the town plays

:09:07.:09:11.

host to the Durlston Castle project. With help from National Lottery

:09:11.:09:18.

funding it turned a vision between two locals into a stunning reality.

:09:18.:09:23.

The vision was to create a world- class facility for visitors to

:09:23.:09:26.

Durlston and the wider world heritage coast. What is really

:09:26.:09:33.

important was getting the castle back as part of the Park. Heritage

:09:33.:09:36.

Lottery gave us the money to develop the ideas. It grew and grew.

:09:36.:09:40.

It was exciting. In the end, fulfilling because it has happened.

:09:40.:09:44.

It has been left for so many years uncared for, not looked after and

:09:44.:09:51.

not worked. Now, it's the finished article. This building was derelict

:09:51.:09:56.

before. To have it now living, breathing, full of people, it's

:09:56.:10:01.

fantastic. Everyone that has come here has said "wow, this is

:10:01.:10:05.

fantastic." I was thrilled to bits to see what had been done to the

:10:05.:10:12.

place and we're going to have a super place for generations to come.

:10:12.:10:17.

I think the whole town and area should be proud of Durlston Castle.

:10:17.:10:21.

To see it come to reality in the way it has done, it's one of the

:10:21.:10:26.

best things that has happened to me, in my life. It's worked. You have

:10:26.:10:34.

to pinch yourself, it did actually work!

:10:34.:10:38.

APPLAUSE Congratulations. Thank you. I'm

:10:38.:10:42.

absolutely thrilled and honoured to accept this award. I would like to

:10:42.:10:48.

say a huge thank you to everybody that voted, especially in swannage,

:10:48.:10:51.

and elsewhere as well, our fantastic friends in Durlston for

:10:51.:10:57.

all the work they do for us and the project team we had and the

:10:57.:11:02.

Heritagage Lottery and our other funders for making it happen. On

:11:02.:11:04.

behalf of the county council, a massive thank you to everybody.

:11:04.:11:11.

Thank you. APPLAUSE

:11:11.:11:15.

Our next category is Sport in association with Best Magazine. You

:11:16.:11:20.

will agree we have had a lot of sport this year. It's not only our

:11:20.:11:23.

elite athletes that eve National Lottery funding. Small sports clubs

:11:23.:11:28.

and facilities all over the country benefit too. This year's winner is

:11:28.:11:31.

Back to Netball. It has motivated all over the country to return to

:11:32.:11:37.

the sport. Many have found it, not just life-changing, but some even

:11:37.:11:39.

life-saving. We sent someone pretty special to present them with their

:11:39.:11:49.
:11:49.:11:50.

trophy. Take a look. I'm Chris Hoy, I'm here at a sports centre in

:11:50.:11:53.

Manchester to surprise a Back to Netball training session and to

:11:53.:11:58.

find out what makes their project so special. I believe there are 30

:11:58.:12:01.

ladies inside there who I will present with this award. Wish me

:12:01.:12:11.
:12:11.:12:12.

luck! Hi, guys. Congratulations. You won the National Lottery Best

:12:12.:12:17.

Sporting Programme Award. Well done to you all. A round of applause.

:12:17.:12:20.

APPLAUSE I think you are going to need to

:12:20.:12:25.

put this on. Really? We have to make you play if you are here.

:12:25.:12:35.
:12:35.:12:36.

them, go on then. There you go. Fits like a glove!

:12:36.:12:45.

Back to Netball is a reintroduction to the sport for ladies of all ages

:12:45.:12:48.

and ability. We run 1,000 sessions across England. It's a fun and

:12:48.:12:55.

socialable way to get back into the sport. My attitude to college and

:12:55.:12:59.

everything else wasn't brilliant. It inspired me to apply to

:12:59.:13:04.

university on a sport coaching course. It changed me. I fell

:13:04.:13:10.

pregnant with Fletcher. He was born at 12llb. He spent nine weeks in

:13:10.:13:14.

hospital. He is doing everything he should be at five months. We are

:13:14.:13:17.

chilled and have so much fun at the sessions. He gets to see me being

:13:17.:13:21.

happy and relaxed. Don't snu Loads of the women come on their own.

:13:21.:13:25.

They make friends and they go out on a Friday night. That is what

:13:25.:13:32.

it's all about. I think it's more of a defender than a shooter!

:13:32.:13:36.

Across the country so many things you don't hear about that are

:13:36.:13:39.

happening that the Lottery is supporting. If you invest in sport

:13:39.:13:43.

and put money into it and encourage athletes and children to get into

:13:43.:13:49.

sport, then the results come. There you go. Congratulations. Katie,

:13:49.:13:53.

what does it mean to you to win this award? It's so fantastic.

:13:54.:13:58.

Thank you so much to everybody that voted. We are just so delighted.

:13:58.:14:01.

Congratulations. Now, we have been talking about some pretty big

:14:01.:14:05.

numbers here tonight, now we welcome a lady who knows something

:14:05.:14:10.

about that. She told over 20 million records worldwide,

:14:10.:14:14.

nominated for three Grammy Awards and reached No 1 in over 30

:14:14.:14:20.

countries around the world to sing Lovebird, put your hands together

:14:20.:14:30.
:14:30.:14:37.

# I would lay down next to you # Stay in bed all afternoon

:14:37.:14:43.

# We were birds of a feather # We were always together

:14:43.:14:51.

# And I never will forget # All the little things you said

:14:51.:14:57.

# And that beautiful summer # you used to call me a love bird

:14:57.:15:02.

# But the time went on, the wind has blown and I have grown

:15:02.:15:09.

# And I started a feeling # That wings had been broken

:15:09.:15:15.

# And I can't believe that I would ever want to be set free

:15:15.:15:25.
:15:25.:15:29.

# But I just can't stay # So your love bird's flying away

:15:29.:15:38.

# My heart's been stuck in a cage # And I miss you every day

:15:38.:15:47.

# But there's nothing left to say # Gotta sing my song, so pretty

:15:47.:15:53.

# I want the world at my feet # Even if it's bittersweet,

:15:53.:16:00.

# I want to stand on my own and put my heart in my own hands

:16:00.:16:03.

# I I begun to see # That you and me are different

:16:03.:16:07.

breeds # So I gotta believe in

:16:07.:16:13.

# I gotta get back to breathing # I can't believe that I would ever

:16:13.:16:19.

want to be set free # But I just can't stay

:16:19.:16:28.

# So your love bird's flying away # My heart's been stuck in a cage

:16:28.:16:36.

# Gotta sing my song, so pretty # Dum, dum, diddy

:16:36.:16:43.

# I miss you every day # But there's nothing left to say

:16:43.:16:51.

# Gotta Singh sing - sing my song, so pretty

:16:51.:16:54.

# And you will always be a part of # You made me who I am

:16:54.:16:59.

# But I gotta say I am not afraid # To test my wingspan

:16:59.:17:02.

# If you love something let it go, let it go

:17:02.:17:08.

# Open up the gate # Cause your love bird's flying

:17:08.:17:11.

away # Your love bird's flying away

:17:11.:17:21.
:17:21.:17:40.

I miss you # Song so pretty, dum, dum, diddy

:17:40.:17:50.
:17:50.:18:04.

Leona Lewis! We will be bringing you the live Lotto rollover draw

:18:04.:18:09.

and thupb then and -- and thupb then and Plus Five results. The

:18:09.:18:16.

next award is Best Arts Project and to present this we have someone in

:18:16.:18:26.
:18:26.:18:30.

the new film Great Expectations, please welcome Tamzin Outhwaite.

:18:30.:18:34.

Evening. Imagine any art form and it's a safe bet the National

:18:34.:18:39.

Lottery funds in some way. Whether it's music, dance, painting,

:18:39.:18:45.

theatre or film. This year's winner is ten years old and is a unique

:18:45.:18:49.

and surprising gallery in a converted flower mill -- flour mill

:18:49.:18:59.
:18:59.:19:02.

on the bank of the River Tyne. It's the BALTIC Centre for Contemporary

:19:02.:19:06.

Art. It's in the north-east of England. It couldn't have been

:19:06.:19:12.

built without the 43 million from the lottery. Arlt Art is part of

:19:12.:19:16.

life. Sometimes people think it's a gallery, how will I be here? But

:19:16.:19:20.

actually, it's such a welcoming place. Every time people come

:19:20.:19:24.

there's something new and different to see. Different events to get

:19:24.:19:29.

involved in. It's so radical. It's so exciting. Everybody can be

:19:29.:19:38.

involved in it. Anybody can do it, anybody can make their own great

:19:38.:19:41.

artwork. Even if people don't like it, it's still a really good piece

:19:41.:19:47.

of art to them. It's a great place to bring kids and they can get down

:19:47.:19:51.

and dirty dirty with art them themselves here. It inspires me. I

:19:51.:19:59.

really want to do more art. This is my exhibition, The Encampment of

:19:59.:20:02.

Eternal Hope. We tend to work with a lot of people, making the work

:20:02.:20:07.

and becoming a part of the work once it's installed and that's very

:20:07.:20:14.

much part of BALTIC's ethos. It's an example of what people couldn't

:20:14.:20:17.

imagine happening in the north-east of Britain and it's happened.

:20:17.:20:20.

Having an art which is sometimes helpfully challenging, can open

:20:20.:20:23.

minds and stimulate the imagination. I think that's the most perfect

:20:23.:20:29.

thing you can bring a young child to. It's by the river, but it's

:20:29.:20:35.

also something people can really get involved with.

:20:35.:20:41.

APPLAUSE Well done, congratulations. Thank

:20:41.:20:45.

you very much. It's absolutely fantastic to be in the company of

:20:45.:20:49.

these award winners. It's great that the National Lottery has

:20:49.:20:53.

rewarded us in this way and continues to provide exceptionally

:20:53.:20:56.

important support for the arts. I need to thank Gateshead council for

:20:56.:21:00.

being so brave with its arts programme and I need to thank arts

:21:00.:21:03.

council for supporting that ambition. My colleagues in

:21:03.:21:06.

Gateshead are fabulous. Our millions of visitors are critical

:21:06.:21:09.

to us but the votes from the public have made this possible tonight.

:21:09.:21:19.
:21:19.:21:19.

Thank you very much. APPLAUSE

:21:19.:21:23.

Did you know that London 2012 was the greenest Games ever so far?

:21:24.:21:28.

This leads us nicely on to our next award, which is environment. There

:21:28.:21:31.

were some fantastic fantastic projects in this category but the

:21:31.:21:34.

winners of this year's environment award motivates young people to

:21:34.:21:44.

improve their communities all over the UK. They are Community Space

:21:44.:21:47.

Challenge and we sent two popstars to visit them.

:21:47.:21:51.

We have come here to London to spring an unexpected surprise on

:21:51.:21:53.

the Community Space Challenge to see what difference they make to

:21:54.:22:01.

people's lives and the areas that they live in. Let's go.

:22:01.:22:09.

Right. Paul? Hello. Hi. Hey! I am Harry. Hello, Harry, nice meet you.

:22:09.:22:12.

This is Dougie. We are from McFly and we have special news for you

:22:12.:22:18.

guys. You guys have won the Environment Award. We want to see

:22:18.:22:22.

why you have won. There's plenty of work to do. Let's get you some

:22:22.:22:27.

overalls. Let's do it. Community Space Challenge is projects around

:22:27.:22:31.

the country. Some are creating community gardens on estates like

:22:31.:22:34.

this. Some are working in elderly care homes. Some are organising

:22:34.:22:37.

community events. It's anything that gets young people out

:22:37.:22:39.

improving the community spaces where they live and working with

:22:39.:22:44.

the people who live in those communities. This side? Yes, please.

:22:44.:22:48.

Go for it. Sweet. You meet hundreds of different kids that are helped

:22:48.:22:52.

by this? It's worked with 12,500 young people over the last five

:22:52.:22:59.

years. Really? Yeah, yeah. That's amazing. Goodness sake, if you are

:22:59.:23:03.

going to do this, do it properly! am making it look worse. Before I

:23:03.:23:07.

joined the project I wouldn't think anything of shoplifting because I

:23:07.:23:11.

was struggling through not working and now I have hope and a job and I

:23:11.:23:14.

have a future ahead of me. This project is so much more than just

:23:14.:23:20.

making the area look nicer. It's about giving the kids a sense of

:23:20.:23:26.

self-respect. It gives you an opportunity to better your future

:23:26.:23:30.

and skills and I am a different man than I was, I am more grown up now.

:23:30.:23:34.

Do you think I would make a good volunteer? We will find out when

:23:34.:23:39.

you finish this! Well done to everyone at Community Space

:23:39.:23:45.

Challenge! CHEERING I am here with Community Space Challenge and

:23:45.:23:50.

project manager Paul. How are you feeling right now? Very excited.

:23:50.:23:58.

And what does this mean to you? it's a massive honour on behalf

:23:58.:24:02.

receiving this, but the award belongs to the young people and the

:24:02.:24:04.

people who have supported them across the country that have helped

:24:05.:24:09.

to make Community Space Challenge a success. So, you know, it goes to

:24:09.:24:14.

young people in Barking and Birmingham, in Manchester, in

:24:14.:24:19.

Wandsworth, Warrington, can I mention the other 63? Well, how

:24:19.:24:21.

about congratulations to all those young people? Congratulations and

:24:21.:24:25.

also what a great way for the British people to say thank you to

:24:25.:24:28.

them all. This is great. Congratulations to you guys. Our

:24:28.:24:33.

next award is for education. To present it please welcome full-time

:24:33.:24:42.

actor and part-time dancer, Colin Salmon.

:24:42.:24:48.

APPLAUSE . Good evening. Education doesn't

:24:48.:24:54.

just happen in schools, no matter how young or old you are, the

:24:54.:24:57.

National Lottery funds lots of projects where you can learn new

:24:57.:25:01.

things. Tonight's winners got together to set up a wildlife and

:25:01.:25:05.

nature reserve on tee side where families can enjoy a unique outdoor

:25:06.:25:13.

learning experience. Our winners are Lifelong Learning at Saltholme.

:25:13.:25:20.

Let's look at the inspiring work they do.

:25:20.:25:24.

It's all about helping people connect with this amazing landscape

:25:24.:25:28.

around us. It's unique, you have this industry, but yet as well you

:25:28.:25:37.

have this amazing wildlife right on people's doorsteps. We basically

:25:37.:25:41.

use Saltholme reserve for inspiration for different courses.

:25:42.:25:45.

Today we have been running a family learning course. It's a great

:25:45.:25:49.

opportunity for families to just enjoy being together. It's

:25:49.:25:51.

brilliant because you get to work with your child and see what they

:25:51.:25:55.

are doing in school as well as out of school and you are involved in

:25:55.:25:59.

it all. They look at the soil, at the compost and think there's

:25:59.:26:09.

nothing in that and they discover that there is! I have got a

:26:09.:26:13.

milipede and a spider. It works because you are taken out of the

:26:13.:26:18.

environment of being sat in school and it's more hands-on. It's

:26:18.:26:21.

important for education of all ages because it's from small children

:26:21.:26:26.

that come along with schools but it's also about adult groups to do

:26:26.:26:30.

photographry and art and everything in between. Liam just said he could

:26:30.:26:36.

see all the - do you remember last week we were talking about that,

:26:36.:26:42.

the industry and the factories and the works you can see. It's

:26:42.:26:46.

brilliant to have it here, something to be proud of in the

:26:46.:26:51.

area. We really feel this is important for the local people.

:26:51.:26:58.

This isn't a flash in the pan, hereditary -- we are here for the

:26:58.:27:05.

long-term. Thank you. In this day and age of

:27:05.:27:10.

computer games and virtual reality, the RSPB is committed to working

:27:10.:27:14.

hard to get young people out into the real world and get them

:27:14.:27:16.

connected with nature and this accolade this evening has been

:27:16.:27:19.

tremendous for all those people involved, for all those people who

:27:19.:27:23.

voted for us and thank you very much to the National Lottery Awards

:27:23.:27:28.

for their generous support. Thank you very much.

:27:28.:27:36.

APPLAUSE Thank you. Our last award is Best Health

:27:36.:27:40.

Project in association with aoeuvillage. And to present this

:27:40.:27:44.

please welcome two gorgeous blonde bombshells who have taken an

:27:44.:27:54.
:27:54.:27:59.

evening off from Albert Square. We all want to be healthy but the

:27:59.:28:03.

drama of everyday life often means it's our health that takes a back

:28:03.:28:07.

seat. Just think, if Albert Square received a lottery grant we would

:28:07.:28:11.

all be a lot happier. Tonight's winner has created a number of

:28:11.:28:16.

pioneering community-led projects from schemes to support women with

:28:16.:28:21.

breast cancer to exercise classes for older people. They are the

:28:21.:28:29.

Bogside and Brandywell Health Forum. Let's take a look.

:28:29.:28:34.

It was established in 2001. The aim of the forum is to improve the

:28:34.:28:38.

health and well-being of local people. This is a socially and

:28:38.:28:42.

economically deprived community. People don't have access to the

:28:42.:28:47.

same resources as maybe in more affluent areas. We concentrate a

:28:47.:28:52.

lot of our work on supporting older people to either maintain health or

:28:52.:28:58.

improve their health. Before I came here I was really overweight. But

:28:58.:29:03.

depressed. A couch potato would be a great description. I had a triple

:29:03.:29:07.

by-pass in 2009. When I came home I was lying about the house, very

:29:07.:29:11.

depressed. After I retired I had nothing to do but run to the pub

:29:11.:29:16.

four and five nights a week. One of the most successful programmes is

:29:16.:29:19.

the exercise referral programme. What the programme is about is

:29:19.:29:25.

providing a new lease of life. are going to look 25 on your next

:29:25.:29:28.

birthday! Older people have benefited from the programme and

:29:28.:29:33.

are able to row the full length of the river and socialise with people

:29:33.:29:37.

they previously didn't know. gets me out of the house and I have

:29:37.:29:41.

made new friends. It's been life- changing, I have lost a lot of

:29:41.:29:46.

weight. Three stone. I am happier since I started coming to the gym.

:29:46.:29:50.

It means the world to me coming here. The programme is worth its

:29:50.:29:55.

weight in gold. It's something this community is very, very proud of.

:29:55.:30:00.

am an old guy and at one point looked at myself as a old guy and

:30:00.:30:10.
:30:10.:30:16.

APPLAUSE When we started the Healthy Living

:30:16.:30:20.

Centre more than ten years ago the people of Derry were feeling the

:30:20.:30:26.

pleasure of peace after 30 years of conflict. In 2013, it's the Derry's

:30:26.:30:33.

big year, the City of Culture. Go there. It's the place to be. Thanks

:30:33.:30:43.
:30:43.:30:44.

for voting. Thank you for being your Lottery tickets.

:30:44.:30:46.

APPLAUSE 2012 has been an extraordinary year

:30:46.:30:50.

for the UK. Who can possibly forget London's amazing summer of sport?

:30:51.:30:55.

The National Lottery invested over 2 billion into the Olympic and

:30:55.:30:59.

Paralympic Games and helped our athletes win a huge number of

:30:59.:31:08.

medals. Let's remind yourselves of some of those remarkable events. --

:31:08.:31:13.

yourselves of some of those remarkable events.

:31:14.:31:19.

COMMENTATOR: Absolutely brilliant. Takes the gold for Great Britain.

:31:19.:31:27.

Nicola Adams has just made history! Here comes Wiggins now. Oh, yes,

:31:27.:31:37.
:31:37.:31:37.

it's a good one! She did it! Chris Hoy gets the gold medal. Look at

:31:38.:31:47.
:31:48.:31:53.

that extension! Exhaustion turning to delight. You little beauty! He's

:31:53.:32:03.
:32:03.:32:04.

the Olympic Super Heavyweight Champion. Well, what a performance.

:32:04.:32:14.
:32:14.:32:28.

They punch the air. Beautiful. The APPLAUSE

:32:28.:32:33.

Ladies and gentlemen, please put your hands together for some of our

:32:33.:32:36.

fantastic sportsmen and women whose incredible performances made us all

:32:36.:32:41.

so proud to be British. Let's see those medal everybody!

:32:41.:32:51.

:36:30.:36:35.

think that in just 18 years, people playing the National Lottery have

raised 29 billion for good causes. Every penny of that money is making

:36:42.:36:46.

a difference. From getting behind local community projects and

:36:46.:36:50.

supporting some of our most vulnerable people, to boosting our

:36:50.:36:54.

internationally reknowned heritage, arts and film industries, and
