Today, I'm at Newark Fair in Nottinghamshire.

0:00:040:00:07

And it turns out this area has produced some really rather

0:00:070:00:09

remarkable talent.

0:00:090:00:10

Though it turns out that Jay McGuiness,

0:00:150:00:17

singer from The Wanted

0:00:170:00:18

and winner of Strictly Come Dancing, comes from Newark.

0:00:180:00:21

So today, we're after some smooth transitions, some very fancy

0:00:210:00:25

footwork, and most of all, let's not try to crash into anything.

0:00:250:00:30

Let's go Bargain Hunting!

0:00:300:00:31

Newark Fair is enormous!

0:00:530:00:55

With up to 2,500 stalls

0:00:550:00:57

and countless items on offer to them,

0:00:570:00:59

our teams are going to have to be nimble on their feet

0:00:590:01:01

to get round here.

0:01:010:01:03

They've got just one hour to bag some bargains.

0:01:030:01:05

How will they get on?

0:01:050:01:06

Let's take a sneaky peek at what's coming up.

0:01:060:01:09

The Reds are running out of time...

0:01:100:01:13

-You sure it's not the next one?

-It's this one.

0:01:130:01:15

..while the Blues are feeling racy.

0:01:180:01:21

Look at you! That really suits you.

0:01:210:01:24

Thank you.

0:01:240:01:25

And there are shocks at the auction.

0:01:250:01:27

CHEERING

0:01:310:01:33

Sold!

0:01:330:01:35

All that is coming up later. But first, let's meet our teams.

0:01:350:01:38

Today, we have two sets of friends.

0:01:380:01:40

For the Reds, we have Lisa and Marie.

0:01:400:01:42

And for the Blues, we have Jenny and Penny.

0:01:420:01:44

-Welcome, teams. ALL:

-Hello.

0:01:440:01:46

Hello. My goodness. That was a cheery hello. I like that.

0:01:460:01:48

Now, firstly, the Reds. Tell me how you met.

0:01:480:01:51

-Marie and I work together.

-Yes.

0:01:510:01:53

We met three years ago,

0:01:530:01:54

when I actually interviewed Marie for a client of mine.

0:01:540:01:57

And he hired her.

0:01:570:01:59

Found out three years later that Marie was back on the job market.

0:01:590:02:02

-And we snapped her up straight away.

-Brilliant!

0:02:020:02:05

She's worked with us for about a year now

0:02:050:02:06

and we've become really good friends.

0:02:060:02:08

-Yes.

-Fantastic. What's she like as an interviewer?

0:02:080:02:11

-She's quite a stickler.

-Oh, is she?

0:02:110:02:13

But she did interview me in a bar, so it was quite...

0:02:130:02:15

-In a bar?

-Yes.

-That is the best kind of interview, isn't it?

0:02:150:02:18

I like your style. I like your style. And where do you work?

0:02:180:02:22

I'm part-owner and director in a national learning

0:02:220:02:25

-and development consultancy.

-Oh, wonderful.

0:02:250:02:28

And Marie is my Head of Client Services.

0:02:280:02:30

I love the sound of your office.

0:02:300:02:32

Cos it says here that you watch TV at work.

0:02:320:02:34

-Is that right?

-That's the reason we're here.

-Oh.

0:02:340:02:37

Because Marie and I like to have our lunch together

0:02:370:02:40

and we watch Bargain Hunt while we have our dinner at lunch time.

0:02:400:02:43

-Brilliant.

-Time it perfectly.

-We get very passionate, don't we?

-We do.

0:02:430:02:46

And we can often be heard shouting, "Don't buy that!"

0:02:460:02:50

So we've put our money where our mouth is.

0:02:500:02:52

I think it was one of the boys who said,

0:02:520:02:54

-"Do you think you could do any better?"

-Absolutely.

0:02:540:02:57

I love a challenge, I love it.

0:02:570:02:58

Two girls that love a challenge. Fantastic.

0:02:580:03:00

Look, very best of luck. What are your tactics today, team?

0:03:000:03:03

-Spend small.

-And win big.

0:03:030:03:05

-Golden gavel.

-Hey. That sounds like a plan.

0:03:050:03:08

-Absolutely.

-My goodness. OK, well, very best of luck.

-Thank you.

0:03:080:03:11

-I'm sure you'll be brilliant.

-Thank you.

0:03:110:03:13

-Now, Blues. Hello.

-Hello.

-Jenny and Penny. My goodness.

0:03:130:03:15

Hang on a minute. Have they redesigned the golden gavel?

0:03:150:03:19

What is going on here?

0:03:190:03:21

I feel like I should be bowing in your presence, ladies.

0:03:210:03:23

These are fantastic.

0:03:230:03:25

-These are MBEs, are they not?

-They are.

-Yes.

0:03:250:03:28

They're fabulous. Now, tell me how you go to receive an MBE.

0:03:280:03:31

Well, we actually raised quite a lot of money for our local town hall.

0:03:310:03:39

It was in a very, very poor state.

0:03:390:03:42

Wonderful. So how much did you raise, ladies?

0:03:420:03:44

-We raised...

-Over a million pounds. £1.2 million.

0:03:440:03:48

No! You didn't! 1.2 million?

0:03:480:03:51

-Yes.

-No wonder you got your MBEs. That's fantastic.

0:03:510:03:54

And did it become the heart of the community again?

0:03:540:03:56

It is now. It's actually paying its own way.

0:03:560:04:00

Fantastic. What a great result. Well done, ladies.

0:04:000:04:03

-What was it like? Did you go to the palace?

-We did.

0:04:030:04:06

CHRISTINE GASPS Wow! What was it like?

0:04:060:04:09

-Awe inspiring.

-Was it?

-It was quite...

0:04:090:04:11

Probably one of the most scary things I've ever done.

0:04:110:04:14

-Really?

-I was absolutely terrified.

0:04:140:04:16

-Oh, really? Did you go together?

-Yes.

-Oh, yes.

0:04:160:04:19

Wonderful. And who presented you with your MBEs?

0:04:190:04:22

-Prince Charles.

-Oh, lovely!

-Yes, it was.

-Fantastic!

0:04:220:04:25

You're still glowing from it. I love it.

0:04:250:04:27

But are you a good team when it comes to antiques hunting?

0:04:270:04:30

-Hopefully.

-Are you interested in antiques?

0:04:300:04:33

-Yes. Yes.

-She's not sounding too sure, Penny.

0:04:330:04:36

Well, we go round our local antiques centre.

0:04:360:04:39

-Mm-hmm.

-And we enjoy looking at them, looking at what's there.

0:04:390:04:42

And sometimes trying to guess what the price

0:04:420:04:44

is before we look at the label.

0:04:440:04:46

-Right.

-But we're not very good at it.

0:04:460:04:48

-Oh.

-We're rubbish, actually.

0:04:480:04:50

-You're rubbish?

-Yes, we're rubbish.

0:04:500:04:52

I'm sure you're not. I'm sure you'll be absolutely fantastic.

0:04:520:04:55

That's not a good tactic to have.

0:04:550:04:57

THEY LAUGH

0:04:570:04:59

So, my girls, what do we need if we're going to go shopping?

0:04:590:05:02

-ALL:

-Money!

0:05:020:05:03

Money, exactly. Who's in charge on the Blues?

0:05:030:05:06

-Penny.

-Penny is in charge. There we are, Penny.

0:05:060:05:08

£300. Who's in charge?

0:05:080:05:09

-Lisa.

-Lisa. £300.

-Thank you.

-There we go.

0:05:090:05:11

£300 for each team. Your experts await.

0:05:110:05:14

Now off you go.

0:05:140:05:15

-ALL:

-Thank you.

-And enjoy!

0:05:150:05:17

Are we going to be handing out any golden gavels today?

0:05:170:05:20

Keep watching to find out.

0:05:200:05:22

And guiding our two teams today are our two fabulous experts.

0:05:250:05:29

Serving up a profit for the Reds, it's...

0:05:290:05:32

And he's got his eye on the prize for the Blues, it's...

0:05:330:05:36

What are you looking for?

0:05:370:05:39

-We quite like the idea of a box, don't we?

-Yes.

-Maybe a wooden box.

0:05:390:05:43

But we quite like the idea of something silver as well.

0:05:430:05:45

OK, Blue gang, what are we going to look for?

0:05:450:05:48

-I have no idea!

-Right, you've thought about this one.

0:05:480:05:51

METALLIC CLANGING

0:05:510:05:53

Right, teams, your time starts now.

0:05:530:05:56

-Right, shall we go and find one?

-Yes.

-Come on.

0:05:560:05:58

Come on, let's go.

0:05:580:06:00

Really looking forward to it.

0:06:050:06:06

How long have you been waiting for this moment, you two?

0:06:060:06:09

-Oh, forever.

-Forever?

0:06:090:06:10

-Forever.

-This is it.

-For years.

-This is the highlight.

0:06:100:06:14

Cheeky. Meanwhile, the Reds are on the hunt for silver.

0:06:140:06:17

And they may be in luck.

0:06:170:06:19

Oh, that's nice. What do you think to that?

0:06:190:06:21

-What have you spotted?

-Well, there's two there.

0:06:210:06:24

I like the one with the flowers

0:06:240:06:25

-on the top.

-They're cornflowers, aren't they?

0:06:250:06:27

Mm. Do you think that's silver, Caroline?

0:06:270:06:29

-It looks silver to me. And enamel.

-Thank you.

0:06:290:06:32

What do you think to that?

0:06:320:06:35

I'm going to put my glasses on, that's what I think first.

0:06:350:06:38

I think there's a little bit of discoloration there in the enamel.

0:06:380:06:41

-Right, OK.

-Beautiful enamelwork with these cornflowers painted on.

0:06:410:06:46

It is silver. It's £68.

0:06:460:06:49

-Can you see the silver mark there?

-Excellent.

0:06:490:06:53

-So, the anchor is for Birmingham.

-Right.

0:06:530:06:55

The lion's to say it's British Sterling Silver.

0:06:550:06:58

-And this U mark dates it at 1919.

-Right.

0:06:580:07:02

-And it's lovely quality.

-Would that have been a pill box or something?

0:07:020:07:06

Yes, or a little powder box to go on the dressing table.

0:07:060:07:10

Do you think the discoloration will affect it

0:07:100:07:12

in terms of the cost, then?

0:07:120:07:13

Yes, I do. Yes. I would rather pay more and have it without that.

0:07:130:07:17

-Right.

-Yeah.

-What would be the best that you could do?

0:07:170:07:21

-60 is the best.

-Did you say 50?

-No, 60 is the best.

0:07:210:07:25

-I'm happy to consider it, but it's a no from me at that.

-Right.

0:07:250:07:29

-OK.

-But if you think we should, then I'm happy to talk about it.

-No.

0:07:290:07:32

-We've got to agree on it. So that's a no.

-Right, OK.

0:07:320:07:34

Maybe one to think about.

0:07:340:07:36

Meanwhile, the Blues have found something much less delicate.

0:07:360:07:40

-The Roxano, Grimsby.

-My gosh. Look at that.

0:07:400:07:42

Probably a merchant ship of some sort.

0:07:420:07:44

-Yeah, or a fishing boat perhaps.

-It could be a fishing boat.

0:07:440:07:47

-But it's a big old bell.

-It is.

0:07:470:07:48

-So we're not talking a little fishing boat.

-No.

0:07:480:07:50

What sort of money would that go for?

0:07:500:07:52

Well, let's keep it down so they don't hear us.

0:07:520:07:54

But a couple of hundred. 200 to 300.

0:07:540:07:57

Dated as well, 1907, which is lovely.

0:07:570:07:59

Bang on the Edwardian period. It's missing its bell.

0:07:590:08:03

-Has it got no clapper?

-BELL RINGS

0:08:030:08:05

-Oh, it's got a nice sound.

-Nice sound.

0:08:050:08:07

-Lovely sound.

-It's a great sound.

0:08:070:08:08

-But no...

-No clapper?

-No clapper in there.

0:08:080:08:11

-That will reduce the price, won't it?

-Yeah.

0:08:110:08:13

It's a fun thing. It's all about money.

0:08:130:08:15

You two have a look and I'll go and have a word with the dealer.

0:08:150:08:17

-Smashing.

-OK.

0:08:170:08:19

Well, they wanted something cheap and odd. Could this be it?

0:08:190:08:22

Now, how are the Reds getting on?

0:08:220:08:24

-You're looking a little bit worried.

-I am a bit concerned.

0:08:240:08:26

What is it? The enormity of it?

0:08:260:08:29

It's vast, and there's so many things to look at.

0:08:290:08:33

-Will you feel better when we've got one item?

-I think I will.

0:08:330:08:35

-When we've got one in the bag, if you like.

-Yeah, yeah.

0:08:350:08:38

I think I'll feel happier.

0:08:380:08:39

Don't panic. We can do this.

0:08:390:08:41

THEY LAUGH

0:08:410:08:43

Oh, dear. But does David have good news for the Blues?

0:08:430:08:47

OK...

0:08:470:08:49

-How much do you think?

-300.

-Jenny?

0:08:490:08:52

-250.

-400.

0:08:530:08:55

-Right, OK.

-That's it.

-I think we'll carry on.

-Away we go.

-On our way.

0:08:550:08:58

They make the money.

0:08:580:09:00

That price doesn't chime with the Blues.

0:09:000:09:02

-Ooh, look. A box.

-Ah!

-It's got a name on it.

0:09:020:09:06

I think if it's got a name on it, it reduces the buyers...

0:09:060:09:11

-It narrows it down.

-..to somebody called...

-Mr Chalklen, doesn't it?

0:09:110:09:15

Do we know a Mr Chalklen that might be interested?

0:09:150:09:19

-I don't think I do, do you?

-I don't, no.

-No.

0:09:190:09:22

Maybe best to move on, girls.

0:09:220:09:24

But it looks like the Blues have stayed on the same stall.

0:09:240:09:27

-I love that. I've never quite seen that design of table before.

-No.

0:09:270:09:31

-It's obviously something from the 1950s.

-Yes.

0:09:310:09:34

Probably a teak bleached out top on ebonised legs.

0:09:340:09:38

-Yeah.

-But have you ever seen a table like that?

0:09:380:09:40

I've never seen one like that.

0:09:400:09:42

-It's a group of tables, isn't it?

-Yeah.

0:09:420:09:44

-It's a bit like a nest of tables.

-A bit like a nest, yeah.

-Yeah.

0:09:440:09:47

But the other funny thing is with this stuff,

0:09:470:09:49

and if I just show you underneath here...

0:09:490:09:51

Something made in the 1950s in that style, it's really cool.

0:09:510:09:55

And very desirable. But its quality is dreadful.

0:09:550:09:58

It's just literally plywood, stained, with blocks

0:09:580:10:02

screwed on, legs that are not ebony, they're just ebonised.

0:10:020:10:07

-Yeah.

-But it's all about the look and the style.

0:10:070:10:09

It's very trendy now.

0:10:090:10:11

I was going to say, a lot of people are buying that, aren't they?

0:10:110:10:14

-Yeah. Is it worth getting a price?

-Might be, yes.

-Why not?

0:10:140:10:18

Time for David to find out how much it is.

0:10:180:10:21

And it's time for the Reds to head indoors.

0:10:210:10:24

-OK, who said 80?

-I did.

-Well done.

0:10:240:10:27

Bang on, the best price. That's it.

0:10:280:10:30

How much do you reckon it would go for?

0:10:300:10:32

-It's one of those things. You can't value it.

-No.

0:10:320:10:35

I think they might put 50 to 90 on it.

0:10:350:10:37

Yeah, so are we going to buy it for 80?

0:10:370:10:39

-I think it would be a first buy, wouldn't it?

-Yep. Why not?

0:10:390:10:41

-Do you fancy it? I mean...

-Yeah, I actually...

0:10:410:10:44

-Do you like taking a punt on things?

-Yes.

-Go on, we'll take a punt.

0:10:440:10:46

-We'll take a punt.

-Shall we have a go at it?

-Yeah.

0:10:460:10:49

We'll have a go at it.

0:10:490:10:50

-Right, our first purchase.

-That's right.

-Jolly good.

0:10:500:10:53

I'll go and say yes.

0:10:530:10:54

Ten minutes in and the Blues have bagged an item,

0:10:540:10:57

whilst the Reds are still searching for silver.

0:10:570:11:00

Ah.

0:11:000:11:02

£12.

0:11:030:11:04

-You're not feeling it, are you?

-No, not at all.

0:11:050:11:08

-You've got to feel it together, haven't you?

-Yeah.

-We have.

0:11:080:11:11

What do you think to this?

0:11:110:11:13

-No?

-I'm not feeling it.

0:11:130:11:15

This boat's not floating, is it?

0:11:150:11:18

-This boat is distinctly not floating.

-Oh, no!

0:11:180:11:22

It looks like they both need to feel it, and it's not happening.

0:11:220:11:26

Meanwhile, the Blues are feeling nostalgic.

0:11:260:11:29

-They're fantastic.

-They're great.

0:11:290:11:31

Do they still work?

0:11:310:11:33

Do you want to jump on one and be a biker chick?

0:11:330:11:36

-Could do.

-Go for it, baby.

0:11:360:11:38

-Whoa! Look at you!

-Yeah.

-That really suits you.

0:11:430:11:47

Thank you.

0:11:470:11:48

Jenny is feeling a bit biker chick. But are the Reds finally feeling it?

0:11:480:11:53

I like that.

0:11:530:11:54

Do you not like it?

0:11:550:11:57

-Um, yeah, I do.

-But do you?

0:11:570:11:58

That looks like somebody's made that in their shed.

0:11:580:12:01

-It does look fairly simply-made. Yes. It's a writing box.

-Yes.

0:12:010:12:05

In mahogany. Parts of it.

0:12:050:12:07

Shall we leave it? There's no point dwelling on it.

0:12:070:12:09

I think we leave it if it's not...

0:12:090:12:11

I don't think it's got a lot to recommend it.

0:12:110:12:13

-But if you both love it...

-It's not floating my...

0:12:130:12:16

Looks like that's a no then.

0:12:160:12:17

But with one item under their belt, the Blues are also heading inside.

0:12:170:12:21

-Look at that. Feast your eyes, you two.

-Wow.

-Yeah.

-Get hunting.

0:12:210:12:25

While the Blues are scanning,

0:12:270:12:29

the Reds are still on the hunt for that elusive silver.

0:12:290:12:33

-There's a lot of them about.

-Right.

-I think it might be just moulded.

0:12:330:12:36

-Right.

-Moulded glass. Silver plate. Do you both like it?

0:12:360:12:41

It's more Marie than me, but I'm willing to consider.

0:12:410:12:45

I also quite like the little spoons and the knives.

0:12:450:12:48

-Ah.

-Little set there.

0:12:480:12:50

I don't think they're going to be a lot of good, to be honest.

0:12:500:12:53

-OK.

-OK.

0:12:530:12:54

-You have got £300.

-Yes.

-So you can think a bit bigger.

0:12:540:12:59

Halfway through and the Reds are clearly still not feeling it.

0:12:590:13:03

Meanwhile, the Blues have found something that looks like it's

0:13:030:13:06

been living in a barn.

0:13:060:13:08

-They make fantastic coffee tables.

-Yeah.

0:13:080:13:11

I mean, it's just an industrial box of some sort, isn't it?

0:13:110:13:14

It's made to move around, cos you've got your big carrying handles there.

0:13:140:13:17

Let's have a look inside.

0:13:170:13:19

Wow, look at that. I mean, that's mouldy.

0:13:190:13:22

So it's been in a damp barn or something.

0:13:220:13:24

Well constructed. Original hinges.

0:13:240:13:27

But is it a hardwood? Let's have a look.

0:13:270:13:30

-It looks like ply.

-It looks like ply there, doesn't it?

0:13:300:13:32

It wouldn't be that old if it's ply, would it?

0:13:320:13:34

Could it be ply? That's just a veneer.

0:13:340:13:36

I was going to say, is that a veneer on the top?

0:13:360:13:38

-Yeah, because that's a plank, isn't it?

-Yeah.

0:13:380:13:41

-Now, that's a veneer on the top of it.

-To make it look smart?

0:13:410:13:43

-Yeah, I think it's a decorative veneer.

-Right.

0:13:430:13:46

Obviously, it's contained at some point something reasonably

0:13:460:13:50

valuable, cos you've had a lock on it.

0:13:500:13:52

-Yeah.

-It's almost like a cultural thing.

0:13:520:13:54

-Yeah.

-But in today's market, fantastic as a doer-upper.

0:13:540:13:59

-Yeah.

-We need to know the price.

-We do.

-We do.

0:13:590:14:02

Shall we ask... What have you got on the box?

0:14:020:14:05

-That's £45. 40 quid.

-40 quid? 30 would be good.

0:14:050:14:08

Would you be happy at 30?

0:14:080:14:10

-Yes.

-I think 30 would be good.

-Do you want to ask him?

0:14:100:14:13

-I can do.

-Go on.

0:14:130:14:14

-Which one am I asking?

-I don't know which one.

0:14:140:14:16

Now, out of you two, who's the nicest?

0:14:160:14:19

-He's the negotiator.

-Oh, right.

-Come on, hit me with your worst shot.

0:14:190:14:23

-Go on.

-£30.

0:14:230:14:25

I'll split it with you. 35.

0:14:250:14:27

-Happy?

-35.

-Done deal. Thank you very much.

0:14:270:14:30

-Thank you very much.

-Thank you very much.

0:14:300:14:32

'You can see how these two raised £1 million for charity!'

0:14:320:14:35

My goodness me. There you go. 31 minutes down. Two purchases in.

0:14:350:14:40

-You two are professional.

-That's good.

-Naturally.

0:14:400:14:43

-Natural. Come on.

-Excellent.

-Keep up the good work.

0:14:430:14:46

But the Reds are still looking for their first item.

0:14:460:14:50

You'd think it would be easy, wouldn't you?

0:14:500:14:52

It's really hard.

0:14:520:14:53

Now, whilst the teams continue their shopping,

0:14:530:14:56

I'd like to show you something very stylish that I came across recently.

0:14:560:15:00

If you were ambling around an antiques fair, I think

0:15:070:15:10

it's fair to say that most of you probably wouldn't give this

0:15:100:15:13

piece here a second glance. It's a fairly unassuming piece, isn't it,

0:15:130:15:17

if you have a little look at it. It's obviously a stool.

0:15:170:15:20

Not particularly unusual or radical, you'd think.

0:15:200:15:22

It's got a bit of a tatty, painted metal top here.

0:15:220:15:25

And these turned ash legs. Maybe worth, what, £10 or £20, right?

0:15:250:15:29

Well, that's where you'd be wrong,

0:15:290:15:31

because this piece here is a bit of a hidden gem.

0:15:310:15:34

You see, this stool was made by a chap,

0:15:340:15:37

designed by a chap called Gerald Summers,

0:15:370:15:39

who is today credited

0:15:390:15:40

as being THE most innovative British Modernist designer.

0:15:400:15:44

Summers believed in creating pieces which were the ideal

0:15:440:15:47

unity of material, production, function and form.

0:15:470:15:50

And with his simple sculptural pieces,

0:15:500:15:53

Summers captured the zeitgeist of a decade.

0:15:530:15:56

Internationally recognised, his work placed

0:15:560:15:58

Britain at the forefront of modern design in the 1930s.

0:15:580:16:01

Today, we're used to seeing pieces like this, but can you

0:16:010:16:04

imagine how radical this piece was to look when it was first produced?

0:16:040:16:07

We know this piece is by Summers because,

0:16:070:16:09

if we turn it over and have a little look underneath, just here,

0:16:090:16:13

it's got "Gerald Summers" and this registered design

0:16:130:16:15

and number cast into the base.

0:16:150:16:17

Now, with a little bit of research, I've looked up that number

0:16:170:16:20

and I know that this piece was designed and registered in 1954.

0:16:200:16:24

This modest-looking stool here is sadly not in the best of

0:16:240:16:27

condition, but nonetheless, recently it sold at auction for £300.

0:16:270:16:32

But examples in excellent original condition have made

0:16:320:16:36

upwards of £2,000.

0:16:360:16:37

So, if you find one of these tucked away in an antiques fair

0:16:370:16:41

or in your loft at home, you may just be sitting pretty.

0:16:410:16:44

Let's get back to the shopping.

0:16:530:16:55

Things are still not going well for the Reds.

0:16:550:16:58

I just can't believe this.

0:16:580:17:00

Half the time has gone and we haven't got anything.

0:17:000:17:03

Not one thing remotely in the bag.

0:17:030:17:06

So I'm starting to get worried now. Just a little.

0:17:060:17:09

-Something is going to leap out at you.

-It is.

0:17:120:17:14

I don't think it's going to be a Toby jug, though.

0:17:140:17:17

I do hope it's not going to be a Toby jug.

0:17:170:17:20

That's another rejection.

0:17:200:17:21

And now they only have 25 minutes left to find all three items.

0:17:210:17:26

Oh, dear. But the Blues have spotted their own bit of silver.

0:17:260:17:30

Looks like some nice things in there.

0:17:300:17:32

Look, come on. Small and pretty vesta cases. Knock yourselves out.

0:17:320:17:37

-That one.

-Which one?

-The little box. There.

0:17:370:17:39

-That's a little matchbox, in actual fact.

-Oh, right.

0:17:390:17:43

-With cherubs.

-It's beautiful.

0:17:430:17:45

-Very collectable.

-Yeah.

0:17:450:17:47

-Look at that.

-Oh, yes.

-Real matches.

-Real matches.

-Oh, my goodness.

0:17:470:17:52

-Real old matches.

-Yeah, it's beautiful.

0:17:520:17:55

Turn it over. See if you can see a hallmark. There you go.

0:17:550:17:57

-There's one there, look.

-Can you read that?

0:17:570:17:59

-No, I can't.

-HE LAUGHS

0:17:590:18:01

-Have you got good eyes, Jenny?

-No, not at all.

0:18:010:18:04

-If I'm over here is that helpful?

-No. Not at all.

-Not at all?

-No.

0:18:040:18:07

OK, let's have a look.

0:18:070:18:09

-It's a lion side on.

-Yeah.

0:18:090:18:11

Then we've got an anchor.

0:18:110:18:13

Come on, you've watched this programme enough.

0:18:130:18:15

-Is it London?

-No.

0:18:150:18:17

-Birmingham.

-Well done, Jenny. My goodness me.

0:18:180:18:21

She is good. And then we have a letter F, which is...

0:18:210:18:26

-Edwardian.

-I think so. Do we know what that is?

0:18:270:18:30

It's probably 1900, isn't it?

0:18:300:18:31

-1905.

-1905. So good guess.

-It's 1905. So it's Edwardian.

0:18:310:18:35

-You were right.

-Yeah.

-I think you said that, yeah.

0:18:350:18:38

-Priced up at £62.

-Yeah.

-What would be the best on that?

0:18:380:18:42

-How about if we made that 55?

-55.

0:18:420:18:45

I think it's a lovely thing, but I think in auction,

0:18:450:18:47

-there's probably going to be a loss there.

-It's too much.

-Yeah.

0:18:470:18:51

And profit is the name of the game, so time to move on.

0:18:510:18:54

Time is running out for the Reds.

0:18:540:18:56

So they're racing back to the first stall for that silver enamel box.

0:18:560:19:01

Let's go!

0:19:010:19:02

-19 minutes left.

-Right.

-19 minutes.

-Yeah.

0:19:020:19:06

-What do you think?

-That's cute.

-Caroline, what do you think?

-Yeah.

0:19:080:19:11

-You could use that as a jewellery box, couldn't you?

-Yeah.

0:19:110:19:13

19th century. Pine.

0:19:130:19:15

Girls, that's not the silver box.

0:19:150:19:18

-I like that.

-OK, yeah. I like that.

-Should we find out how much it is?

0:19:180:19:22

-Yeah. Hello.

-Girls, do you both like that?

-Yes.

-Yes.

0:19:220:19:25

-Oooh.

-Could you tell us how much that item is there?

-65.

0:19:250:19:29

-65. OK.

-If we want to buy the enamel box and that, would you do a deal?

0:19:290:19:35

It's 120 for the two.

0:19:350:19:37

If we were to buy the enamel box, that, and the other silver box,

0:19:370:19:41

would you do us a deal?

0:19:410:19:43

135.

0:19:430:19:45

'Hang on, they've spotted a second silver box.

0:19:450:19:47

'Where's that suddenly come from?'

0:19:470:19:49

-Now, what's that? Scottish thistle on the top.

-Yeah.

0:19:490:19:53

It's a bit scratched up, isn't it?

0:19:540:19:56

-It's silver.

-What do you think it would make?

0:19:560:19:59

It's a purchase price of 15 if you're buying the three.

0:19:590:20:02

-There's a profit on that.

-It's a good price.

-Or it should be.

-Yeah.

0:20:020:20:05

-Do you like that?

-Yeah, I do. I really do.

-Do you?

-Yes, I do.

0:20:050:20:07

So, from having nothing, are they now buying all three items at once?

0:20:070:20:12

I think we're getting all a bit confused with the chest

0:20:120:20:15

-of drawers, the enamel box, the silver box, and various prices.

-Yes.

0:20:150:20:20

So, am I right that you've decided not to get the pine

0:20:200:20:24

chest of drawers?

0:20:240:20:25

-I think we've decided not to.

-That's right.

0:20:250:20:28

OK, so to crunch this up, finally, eventually,

0:20:280:20:32

-the enamel-top box is 60.

-Yes.

0:20:320:20:35

-The silver thistle-top box is 15.

-Yes.

0:20:350:20:39

-And we're taking them both.

-You're taking them both?

-Yes. We are.

0:20:390:20:42

Thank you.

0:20:420:20:44

Thank you.

0:20:440:20:45

Thank you!

0:20:450:20:47

Great, that's two items finally in the bag.

0:20:470:20:50

Just one more to find. But the clock's still ticking, girls.

0:20:500:20:53

And have the Blues struck gold?

0:20:530:20:56

-STALLHOLDER: Bargains only!

-Oh, really?

0:20:560:20:58

-It's only bargains.

-Jolly good.

0:20:580:21:00

-Brilliant.

-That's all we sell is bargains.

0:21:000:21:04

I'm glad to hear that.

0:21:040:21:05

Bargain of the day, ladies. Sir.

0:21:050:21:08

You won't find anything like this or better than this.

0:21:080:21:10

This is the one for you. You'll win with this.

0:21:100:21:13

So how much of a bargain is it?

0:21:130:21:14

-I'll cut that in half for you. You can read...

-OK, that is wonderful.

0:21:140:21:18

-That is so...

-Hasn't he got lovely lines?

-He has, actually.

0:21:180:21:21

-Great lines. Great colours.

-Can we see the other side?

0:21:210:21:25

-Yeah.

-Great colours. What does he remind you of?

0:21:250:21:28

Do you know the ancient Chinese Tang horse?

0:21:280:21:32

-Yeah.

-It's sort of almost like a stylised version of that.

0:21:320:21:35

-It's the big breasted...

-Big, muscular creature. Yeah, exactly.

0:21:350:21:38

I've got to tell you,

0:21:380:21:40

-I would have him in my house at the drop of a hat.

-Yeah.

0:21:400:21:44

If we can have him for 35 quid, I think, in the right market,

0:21:440:21:48

that looks like a few hundred pounds' worth.

0:21:480:21:50

-Yeah.

-No, it's just gone up.

0:21:500:21:52

THEY LAUGH

0:21:520:21:54

-It won't make that in auction, but ultimately...

-I know...

0:21:540:21:56

It could be, couldn't it?

0:21:560:21:57

I was just saying, what would it make in auction?

0:21:570:22:00

-Even if we went 30 to 50...

-Yeah.

0:22:000:22:03

-It could still make us a profit, couldn't he?

-Yeah.

0:22:030:22:06

-Are we going to have him?

-Yes!

-Yes.

-35?

-Yep.

-I'm happy with that.

0:22:060:22:09

-Yeah.

-We're happy.

-Thank you very much indeed.

-Thank you.

0:22:090:22:13

-Thank you so much.

-Cheers. All the best to you.

0:22:130:22:15

-Right, you two, 11 minutes left.

-Brilliant.

-You've done it.

0:22:150:22:20

And that is the star buy of the day.

0:22:200:22:22

-Excellent.

-Brilliant.

-Are you happy?

0:22:220:22:23

-Very happy.

-Very happy.

-Double high-fives.

0:22:230:22:26

-Yes!

-HE LAUGHS

0:22:260:22:28

Well done, Penny. Come on. Cups of tea.

0:22:280:22:30

The Blues have done it. But the Reds are still up against it.

0:22:320:22:35

Now, what have you found?

0:22:370:22:38

-How much is this, please?

-20.

-20.

-And that is the...

0:22:380:22:42

That's your best price?

0:22:420:22:44

Oak 1920s ink stand.

0:22:440:22:46

Fairly ordinary. Fairly... It should be fairly cheap.

0:22:460:22:51

-Yeah.

-How much is it?

-BOTH: 20.

0:22:510:22:53

20 quid.

0:22:530:22:55

Right, well, I think we're down to the wire now.

0:22:550:22:58

-Yeah.

-So, do you both like it?

-Yes, I think it's all right.

0:22:580:23:02

Is there anything else we like that we want to compare?

0:23:020:23:04

I can do those three boxes there for £10 if that helps.

0:23:040:23:07

I don't like those.

0:23:070:23:09

-It depends what you've got.

-I don't like those.

0:23:090:23:12

-Are they tractor seats?

-They are.

-How much are the stools?

-Wow.

0:23:120:23:15

-The best I can do on them is 100.

-No.

0:23:150:23:18

-That's for the pair.

-The pair?

0:23:180:23:20

You could see those in a country kitchen.

0:23:200:23:23

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking.

0:23:230:23:24

-Could you do them for 80?

-Honestly, the very best would be 100.

-80 quid?

0:23:240:23:29

The very best. I've knocked it right down.

0:23:290:23:32

You don't have to put diesel in them or anything. They just go.

0:23:320:23:34

Sit on them and BRRRRR!

0:23:340:23:36

-I can see that being in a country kitchen.

-Oh!

0:23:360:23:38

You're going to have to... The time is ticking.

0:23:380:23:41

-Out of the two, have you got a...

-Yes.

-Let's point on three.

0:23:410:23:44

-Oh.

-One, two, three.

0:23:440:23:46

-Oh! What?! Did you do the opposite?

-Yeah, you see, I'm thinking...

0:23:460:23:50

-You should do it again.

-Has anybody got a coin? We'll flip a coin.

0:23:500:23:53

Yeah, let's flip.

0:23:530:23:54

-Let's get a coin.

-Let's put it down to the universe.

0:23:540:23:58

So we're either £100 on these or £20 on those?

0:23:580:24:03

Heads it's the chairs, tails it's that.

0:24:030:24:06

Three minutes left, girls.

0:24:060:24:08

You know what, you really want those, let's have those.

0:24:080:24:12

Really?

0:24:120:24:13

-The coin is waiting to toss.

-Just cos I love you.

-No, it's OK.

0:24:130:24:17

Oh! Another moment.

0:24:170:24:18

Mon dieu! Mon dieu!

0:24:180:24:21

-Can you do 95? Please do 95.

-98, how's that?

0:24:210:24:26

-Thank you so much.

-Yes!

0:24:260:24:30

That £2 could make all the difference. But they've done it.

0:24:300:24:34

ALARM RINGS

0:24:340:24:36

Time's up, teams.

0:24:360:24:38

Yes, yes, yes!

0:24:380:24:39

Stop the clock.

0:24:390:24:41

Right, it's time to skip off and remind ourselves

0:24:410:24:44

what the Reds bought.

0:24:440:24:46

It is silver and it is a box, the Reds finally got

0:24:460:24:49

what they wanted with the silver enamel box at £60.

0:24:490:24:52

And as a backup, they snapped up a second silver pillbox for £15.

0:24:540:24:59

And finally,

0:24:590:25:01

they went a bit rustic with a pair of tractor seats for £98.

0:25:010:25:05

That went rather quickly, didn't it?

0:25:050:25:07

-It really did.

-Did it feel like an hour?

0:25:070:25:09

-No.

-Ten minutes.

-THEY LAUGH

0:25:090:25:12

What was your favourite item, Lisa?

0:25:120:25:14

When we were thinking of buying it, I was horrified with

0:25:140:25:18

the tractor seats.

0:25:180:25:19

-They are now actually my favourite.

-Really? Brilliant.

0:25:190:25:21

They are actually love it or loathe it, aren't they?

0:25:210:25:24

Absolutely. They really are.

0:25:240:25:25

-So are you in agreement about what do you think was the best item?

-Yes.

0:25:250:25:28

Are you in agreement about what is going to make the biggest profit?

0:25:280:25:31

-I think it will be the tractor seat.

-I think it will be, yeah.

0:25:310:25:34

-Gosh, unanimous all the way.

-Yeah.

-So what did you spend, girls?

0:25:340:25:38

-173.

-173.

-So can I have £127 of leftover lolly, please?

0:25:380:25:42

-There you are.

-Thank you very, very much.

0:25:420:25:45

There we go, Caroline.

0:25:450:25:46

-Thank you.

-£127.

-Thank you very much.

0:25:460:25:48

What are you going to do with it?

0:25:480:25:50

Whatever I do, I'm going to have to do it quickly.

0:25:500:25:52

Well, while Caroline gets her skates on, let's go

0:25:520:25:55

and see what the Blue team have bought.

0:25:550:25:57

First up, the Blues went retro

0:25:570:25:59

with the Ercol-style set of tables for £80.

0:25:590:26:02

They say where there's muck, there's brass,

0:26:030:26:05

so can this rustic box turn a profit? It cost £35.

0:26:050:26:09

And finally,

0:26:100:26:11

could this stylish horse gallop to success at the auction?

0:26:110:26:14

It also cost them £35.

0:26:140:26:16

Jenny and Penny, did you enjoy your shopping?

0:26:160:26:19

-Yes, it was brilliant.

-Yes.

-Brilliant!

0:26:190:26:21

The furniture, do you like it?

0:26:210:26:24

-No.

-SHE LAUGHS

0:26:240:26:26

-I think... I don't like the first one, but I think it's retro.

-No.

0:26:260:26:33

-She doesn't like it.

-THEY LAUGH

0:26:330:26:36

So what was your favourite item?

0:26:360:26:38

-The horse.

-The horse. And what about you, Penny?

0:26:380:26:40

What was your favourite item?

0:26:400:26:42

-The horse.

-Oh, we are in unanimous agreement.

0:26:420:26:45

-The others were boxes.

-THEY LAUGH

0:26:450:26:48

What did you spend, ladies?

0:26:480:26:50

-£150.

-That's simple, isn't it?

0:26:500:26:52

Can I have £150 of leftover lolly then, please?

0:26:520:26:55

-Thank you very, very much. There we are, David.

-Thank you.

0:26:550:26:57

That's a goodly amount, isn't it?

0:26:570:26:59

-That's marvellous.

-Are you going to buy something else horsey?

0:26:590:27:02

You know what, I'm going to buy an awful lot of brown furniture.

0:27:020:27:05

You can get a lot of brown furniture for £150.

0:27:050:27:08

Surely something for the ladies, David?

0:27:080:27:10

No, I am on a furniture hunt. Goodbye.

0:27:100:27:13

Well, well, David goes in search of more brown furniture,

0:27:130:27:16

let's head off to the auction.

0:27:160:27:18

So, today we are with our very own Charles Hanson here in Derby.

0:27:270:27:30

-Thank you for having us, Charles.

-Pleasure, Christina.

0:27:300:27:33

So, let's start with the Red team today. Lisa and Marie.

0:27:330:27:35

They were looking for boxes from the off.

0:27:350:27:37

What's your thoughts on their first purchase?

0:27:370:27:39

Beautiful, Christina.

0:27:390:27:41

I think when you try and find a box, this is what you're looking for.

0:27:410:27:44

It's a sure sign of quality, seeing enamel.

0:27:440:27:48

It's made by one of the most renowned makers -

0:27:480:27:50

Levi & Solomon.

0:27:500:27:51

It's dated 1919.

0:27:510:27:54

And it's just exquisite.

0:27:540:27:56

The one minor concern, it's almost as though the enamel's got a tan.

0:27:560:27:59

It's been in the sunlight. Well, not really.

0:27:590:28:01

It's actually had some restoration just here.

0:28:010:28:04

Which, on that gorgeous enamel and how it's been set in, it's a

0:28:040:28:08

-real shame.

-What have you put on that?

-Between £50 and £80.

0:28:080:28:11

-£50 and £80. OK. Well, look. They paid £60 for it.

-Good.

0:28:110:28:15

-So we're there or thereabouts.

-Yes. Good.

0:28:150:28:17

Moving onto their second item.

0:28:170:28:18

They went from one nice, little box to another little box.

0:28:180:28:21

They went to the year 1976.

0:28:210:28:23

It's a really pretty box and again, Christina,

0:28:230:28:26

it's very similar to the one before.

0:28:260:28:28

It's diminutive. It's a small dressing table box and cover.

0:28:280:28:32

But what sets it off is that gorgeous thistle pierced in the top.

0:28:320:28:37

But also the fact it's a good gauge. It's heavy and quite substantial.

0:28:370:28:41

What have you predicted on that, Charles?

0:28:410:28:43

We hope it will make, Christina, between £30 and £50.

0:28:430:28:46

-Fantastic. They'll be delighted. They paid only £15 for it.

-£15?

0:28:460:28:49

-That was a bargain.

-Wow.

-It really was.

0:28:490:28:52

OK, so from the teeny-weeny-weeny to these rather magnificent

0:28:520:28:57

tractor bar stool seats.

0:28:570:29:00

-Yeah, they're great, aren't they?

-Yeah.

0:29:000:29:02

These are quite distinctive.

0:29:020:29:04

As kitchens become more a place to socialise,

0:29:040:29:07

-in that farmhouse interior of modern times, they will sit so well.

-OK.

0:29:070:29:11

Good. So, good, decorative pieces that have a certain flair.

0:29:110:29:14

What's your estimate on them?

0:29:140:29:16

We've been quite punchy because we have lots of farming collectors.

0:29:160:29:19

So we've gone in between £60 and £80.

0:29:190:29:21

£60 and £80. OK. Well, that's not too far away.

0:29:210:29:25

-They paid £98 for the pair.

-Right.

0:29:250:29:27

Well, look, it's looking vaguely promising,

0:29:270:29:29

but they might need their bonus buy.

0:29:290:29:31

So let's go and have a look at it.

0:29:310:29:33

-Lisa and Marie, this is exciting, isn't it?

-It certainly is.

0:29:330:29:36

You entrusted dear Caroline over there

0:29:360:29:39

with £127 worth of leftover lolly.

0:29:390:29:41

-Yes.

-What did you do with it, Caroline? Show us.

0:29:410:29:45

-I love it!

-Do you like it, yeah?

0:29:450:29:48

It's a Chinese lacquered box. Work box. 19th century.

0:29:480:29:53

Open it up and this would have all your little accoutrements in there.

0:29:530:29:58

Then if we open the base... Look at that.

0:29:580:30:02

Because it's been out of the light, not faded.

0:30:020:30:05

Beautiful, beautiful work.

0:30:050:30:07

So how much did you spend?

0:30:070:30:09

-I had £127 and I spent £55.

-MARIE GASPS

0:30:090:30:14

-Yes. 55.

-So, girls, you like it?

0:30:140:30:16

-Yeah.

-Really like it.

-OK. All right, OK. Well, hold that thought.

0:30:160:30:20

You don't have to decide just yet.

0:30:200:30:22

Although it sounds like you've already made up your mind.

0:30:220:30:24

But for the benefit of those at home,

0:30:240:30:26

let's see what Charles thinks of Caroline's rather beautiful box.

0:30:260:30:29

What do you think?

0:30:300:30:31

I like it because it's a real work of art.

0:30:310:30:35

What I love is when you open it up, Christina,

0:30:350:30:37

you'll just see how the colours were in the early days. So, so vibrant.

0:30:370:30:41

-This is very fresh, isn't it?

-Absolutely.

0:30:410:30:43

It would date to around, I suppose, 1890, 1900.

0:30:430:30:47

You'll see the banding around the base section here.

0:30:470:30:50

It's clearly had some degree of reconstruction which, again,

0:30:500:30:54

puts some warning lights on its potential purity and value.

0:30:540:30:57

What did you estimate it at?

0:30:570:30:59

We have put a guide price on of between £40 and £60.

0:30:590:31:02

All right, super. Look, Caroline paid £55 for it.

0:31:020:31:05

-So all is not lost.

-Not at all.

-All is not lost.

0:31:050:31:07

-Right, OK, let's move onto the Blue team.

-OK.

0:31:070:31:10

Their first purchase was that nest,

0:31:100:31:12

or the three Ercol-style tables over there.

0:31:120:31:15

They've certainly got a look to them, haven't they?

0:31:150:31:17

They're very stylish. What do you think?

0:31:170:31:19

Those simple lines, those restrained, functional, lightweight

0:31:190:31:22

forms which are all that hint of the Scandinavian theme are so in vogue.

0:31:220:31:27

And they are easy to live with. They're great for the modern home.

0:31:270:31:30

They look modern. But they're 60 years old.

0:31:300:31:33

Good, OK. What's your thoughts on estimates for those?

0:31:330:31:35

Our guide, Christina, is between £30 and £50.

0:31:350:31:38

-Oh, OK.

-It's quite mean.

0:31:380:31:40

-But I'm a cautious guy.

-They paid £80 for them.

0:31:400:31:43

-Oh, crikey.

-Brilliant. OK.

0:31:430:31:45

Well, look, their next item was that fantastic pine chest just there.

0:31:450:31:49

-Isn't that amazing?

-Yes, it is. The handles are original.

0:31:490:31:52

It's got this rusty feel about it.

0:31:520:31:54

-But I think, importantly, it's honest.

-Yes.

-It's clean.

0:31:540:31:58

It just has a life to lead going forward,

0:31:580:32:01

when somebody gets hold of it. I think it's a great object.

0:32:010:32:04

So what is your thoughts on value of the chest?

0:32:040:32:07

Our guide price, Christina, is between £40 and £60.

0:32:070:32:10

-£35 paid. So you're predicting a profit.

-Good. I hope so.

0:32:100:32:13

Fantastic. But their third purchase, this rather lovely horse,

0:32:130:32:17

what do you think of him?

0:32:170:32:18

The market now for these West German pots, not just the vases

0:32:180:32:23

but these more, I suppose, evocative animals

0:32:230:32:26

made by the West German factories in the late '60s, '70s,

0:32:260:32:31

have a certain look about them that hasn't been done before.

0:32:310:32:34

And hasn't been done since. And that makes an object collectable.

0:32:340:32:38

-Our guide price is between £30 and £50.

-£30 and £50.

0:32:380:32:41

-OK, well, that's not too bad at all cos they paid £35 for it.

-Good.

0:32:410:32:44

-So we're there or thereabouts, are we not?

-We are.

0:32:440:32:46

They might not need their bonus buy, but let's go

0:32:460:32:49

and have a look at it anyway.

0:32:490:32:50

Now, look, you spent £150. You spent half your budget.

0:32:500:32:53

I think this is very diplomatic. David, did you invest it wisely?

0:32:530:32:56

-I hope so.

-I always try to. And I did promise you some furniture.

0:32:560:33:00

-This is really clever. This is solid bronze, cast bronze.

-Can I feel it?

0:33:020:33:06

-Chinese, I feel.

-Yeah.

0:33:060:33:08

Decorated with cranes, which represent long life,

0:33:080:33:11

longevity, good luck and all of that.

0:33:110:33:13

Spin it round.

0:33:130:33:15

-This is your highly polished side.

-Yeah.

-And it is a genuine mirror.

0:33:150:33:20

-Yeah.

-These things date back...

-This is great.

0:33:200:33:23

-..thousands of years.

-Yeah.

-How old is this one?

0:33:230:33:26

Yeah, good question. Late-19th, early 20th century.

0:33:260:33:28

How much did you spend on it?

0:33:280:33:30

-30.

-Ooh!

-30 quid?

-Bloomin' heck!

-Cheap and cheerful.

0:33:300:33:33

Are you pleasantly surprised, girls?

0:33:330:33:36

I am very surprised with that.

0:33:360:33:37

-Well, look, you don't have to decide now.

-No.

0:33:370:33:40

But mirror, mirror on the wall, does Charles predict a profit?

0:33:400:33:44

Let's have a look.

0:33:440:33:46

Right, here we are.

0:33:460:33:47

David invested in this rather lovely Chinese mirror.

0:33:470:33:50

What's your thoughts?

0:33:500:33:51

It's quite interesting. It's quite difficult to date bronze.

0:33:510:33:54

I think it was made for export, made for the Western souvenir,

0:33:540:33:58

to enjoy the riches and excesses of late trade with the Far East.

0:33:580:34:02

-No, quite.

-I love the prunus blossom, I love the storks...

0:34:020:34:06

There's a turtle in there.

0:34:060:34:08

..and the whole aesthetic of the clouds.

0:34:080:34:11

-It just has that real rich style to it.

-Good. OK.

0:34:110:34:14

So what's your thoughts on value for that then, Charles?

0:34:140:34:17

We've been quite cautious with a guide price of between £40 and £60.

0:34:170:34:21

£40 and £60. OK. David will be delighted cos he paid £30 for it.

0:34:210:34:24

-Good.

-So you're predicting a profit on that for him,

0:34:240:34:27

which he'll be thrilled with, I'm sure.

0:34:270:34:30

-Absolutely.

-So will you be wielding your gavel for us?

0:34:300:34:32

-I will.

-Brilliant. Well, we're in safe hands.

-Can't wait.

0:34:320:34:35

425.

0:34:350:34:36

There we are...

0:34:360:34:38

425 now.

0:34:380:34:39

60. 5.

0:34:390:34:41

5, I'm bid. Sold.

0:34:410:34:43

-How are you feeling?

-Nervous. Excited.

-Excited.

0:34:430:34:46

All those emotions. Have you been to an auction before?

0:34:460:34:49

-Never.

-No.

-Never ever?

0:34:490:34:51

So you've decided that the very first time you came to

0:34:510:34:53

an auction would be good to go on national television?

0:34:530:34:56

-Yes.

-Why not?

-Loving your style. THEY LAUGH

0:34:560:34:59

Now, we've got your first lot coming up.

0:34:590:35:01

This is the Levi & Solomon Birmingham silver trinket box.

0:35:010:35:06

And I'm bid here, 45. 50, I'm bid.

0:35:060:35:09

Do I see 5 now?

0:35:090:35:10

50. 5.

0:35:100:35:11

60. 5.

0:35:110:35:13

-Yes!

-You're into profit.
