Ladies and gentlemen, this is the Children in Need Music Special. | 0:00:03 | 0:00:07
Please welcome your hosts, Marvin and Rochelle Humes. | 0:00:08 | 0:00:16
Hello. And welcome to the Children in Need special here on BBC Two. | 0:00:17 | 0:00:24
Before we do anything let me say what an absolute honour it is to be | 0:00:25 | 0:00:28
here tonight. Do you know we're the first ever married couple to present | 0:00:29 | 0:00:36
Children in Need. Are we? Remember all the vowels and the dancing at | 0:00:37 | 0:00:40
the wedding? I do remember. We are on display tonight, so best | 0:00:41 | 0:00:45
behaviour, no funny business, you going to behave yourself? Don't know | 0:00:46 | 0:00:48
what you're talking about. Make sure you behave, I know what you like, | 0:00:49 | 0:00:51
you know what'll happen if you don't? I could show a very old | 0:00:52 | 0:00:58
picture of you "Acting" in Holby city. | 0:00:59 | 0:01:03
Is that how we are doing it tonight? I could do that, might not, but I | 0:01:04 | 0:01:11
could. Three small words. S Club Juniors. | 0:01:12 | 0:01:15
There we are. I shouldn't have started it. Even Stevens. Want to | 0:01:16 | 0:01:24
tell them what's coming up? We should move swiftly. Here's what's | 0:01:25 | 0:01:28
in store tonight on this Children in Need Music Special. Coming up, | 0:01:29 | 0:01:37
Michael Buble sings for Pudsey. Children in Need Rocks packs a punch | 0:01:38 | 0:01:41
with an all-star line-up. A special duet from Shane Richie and Tony | 0:01:42 | 0:01:43
Hadley. Yes, if you love great music you're | 0:01:44 | 0:01:56
in the right place. Kind of a Jools Holland five. If you split into a | 0:01:57 | 0:02:02
man and a woman and then got married to himself. Ended up a bit weird | 0:02:03 | 0:02:08
didn't it? I was trying to follow you. It's going well. To kick off we | 0:02:09 | 0:02:13
have one of the smoothest and most handsome guys in the business. Hello | 0:02:14 | 0:02:19
everyone. No, no not you. This man to go to the BBC earlier this month | 0:02:20 | 0:02:24
and recorded a performance especially for us. Michael, we thank | 0:02:25 | 0:02:27
you so much. Our thoughts are with you at this difficult time for you | 0:02:28 | 0:02:31
and your family. This is the one and only, make some noise, Michael | 0:02:32 | 0:02:32
Buble! And delighted to be part of this | 0:02:33 | 0:02:41
year's Children in Need 2016. If you'd like to donate, please call... | 0:02:42 | 0:02:46
Wood go online/ Pudsey. # But long as there are stars | 0:02:47 | 0:03:11
above you # God only knows what I'd be | 0:03:12 | 0:03:25
without you # Though life would still go on | 0:03:26 | 0:03:52
believe me # God only knows | 0:03:53 | 0:04:06
what I'd be without you # God only knows what I'd be | 0:04:07 | 0:05:12
without you # Then life would | 0:05:13 | 0:05:21
still go on believe me # God only knows | 0:05:22 | 0:05:35
what I'd be without you # God only knows what | 0:05:36 | 0:06:16
I'd be without you #. Thanks again and very best wishes to | 0:06:17 | 0:06:59
Michael and his family, one incredible performance. Plenty more | 0:07:00 | 0:07:02
where that has come from so stick around for more great music coming | 0:07:03 | 0:07:09
up. Rochelle. Next, a film introduce by Paralympics, Rachel Latham. | 0:07:10 | 0:07:11
In the summer, Children in Need invited me to go and see some | 0:07:12 | 0:07:14
of the work that you've been funding, and meet a very | 0:07:15 | 0:07:17
Learning to swim is something every child should do. | 0:07:18 | 0:07:24
And five-year-old Byron is no exception. | 0:07:25 | 0:07:28
He has swimming lessons once a week and he's doing so well. | 0:07:29 | 0:07:34
But for Byron, learning to swim is tough. | 0:07:35 | 0:07:38
He has cerebral palsy, which makes it hard for him | 0:07:39 | 0:07:40
And that's where Sally-Anne comes in. | 0:07:41 | 0:07:46
She's a specially trained swimming instructor funded | 0:07:47 | 0:07:48
What does she teach you? | 0:07:49 | 0:08:02
Have you seen an improvement in Byron since he started swimming? | 0:08:03 | 0:08:11
He couldn't use his limbs independently of each other. | 0:08:12 | 0:08:17
The next stage for Byron is independent swimming. | 0:08:18 | 0:08:30
and I do believe he will be able to achieve that. | 0:08:31 | 0:08:34
At home, Byron doesn't have the freedom he has in the pool | 0:08:35 | 0:08:50
and he misses out on doing simple things with his younger brothers. | 0:08:51 | 0:08:57
But when he is in the pool, Byron not only gets fantastic | 0:08:58 | 0:09:02
exercise, he also gets special time playing with his whole family. | 0:09:03 | 0:09:08
It's just really nice because Byron is in a lot of discomfort and gets | 0:09:09 | 0:09:11
in a lot of pain so to see him not necessarily pain-free | 0:09:12 | 0:09:14
but being allowed to play with his brothers, | 0:09:15 | 0:09:16
I think it's amazing that something so small like being in a swimming | 0:09:17 | 0:09:25
pool with your family can make people so happy. | 0:09:26 | 0:09:28
And it's because of your donations that Byron and other children | 0:09:29 | 0:09:31
So please help us give this opportunity to more children | 0:09:32 | 0:09:36
What a lovely little boy you are. We love how much you love swimming, | 0:09:37 | 0:09:55
clearly it makes all the difference. As he says, it makes him feel free, | 0:09:56 | 0:10:01
which I love. It costs ?50 for the family to use that hydrotherapy pool | 0:10:02 | 0:10:05
for an hour, gives them time to play together as a family. As you can | 0:10:06 | 0:10:09
see, it makes them all so happy. If tonight you can help us and donate, | 0:10:10 | 0:10:12
we'd be truly, truly grateful. We promised you music. Next up, boy | 0:10:13 | 0:10:32
do we deliver. On Monday he might have seen Children in Need Rocks, a | 0:10:33 | 0:10:37

loved it. Absolutely. I think that Sir Terry would have loved it too. I | 0:26:42 | 0:26:44
think you are right. Throughout the night people were making their | 0:26:45 | 0:26:50
donations to Children In Need. Let's look right now how much you raised | 0:26:51 | 0:26:54
through the concert itself. There we go. Wow! | 0:26:55 | 0:27:01
?878,746. That's incredible. Thank you so much. Every penny of it will | 0:27:02 | 0:27:09
go to help disadvantaged children and young people across the UK. | 0:27:10 | 0:27:14
Brill yanlt work. No surprise to any of you that Rochelle and I are big | 0:27:15 | 0:27:18
music fans. Sometimes music is much more than just music, here's | 0:27:19 | 0:27:21
Michelle Keegan to explain. I'd like you to meet a fantastic | 0:27:22 | 0:27:28
little girl called Elodie and her big brother Finn | 0:27:29 | 0:27:31
and they want to tell you how your donations have helped | 0:27:32 | 0:27:33
put a smile on their faces. But she can still do lots and lots | 0:27:34 | 0:27:36
and lots and lots of stuff. This is you and me | 0:27:37 | 0:27:44
riding a motorcycle. You have a blue one | 0:27:45 | 0:27:49
and I have a red one. You're the best sister | 0:27:50 | 0:27:52
I could ever have. When Elodie was born, | 0:27:53 | 0:28:03
her eyes were small and unfinished. And when she was a few months old, | 0:28:04 | 0:28:07
one of her retinas detached followed We were told that there | 0:28:08 | 0:28:12
is going to be a gradual deterioration of her | 0:28:13 | 0:28:19
sight and she will lose Yeah, and I could do more fun stuff | 0:28:20 | 0:28:21
and see more amazing For Elodie, being blind is not just | 0:28:22 | 0:28:33
about a loss of vision. It's about a loss of all | 0:28:34 | 0:28:42
the learning opportunities, so it's so important that we find | 0:28:43 | 0:28:46
special ways of helping Elodie And that's why music | 0:28:47 | 0:28:49
entered Elodie's life. She now visit Open Arts In Tune | 0:28:50 | 0:28:57
workshops in Belfast, a project What we're trying to do is to give | 0:28:58 | 0:29:00
them the confidence to be It's not just about | 0:29:01 | 0:29:07
playing instruments. There's a lot going | 0:29:08 | 0:29:11
on under the surface. They are feeling new things, | 0:29:12 | 0:29:13
they're hearing new things, When you push those little | 0:29:14 | 0:29:16
buttons... It's about essential skills | 0:29:17 | 0:29:21
like listening and turn-taking, coordination, that are used | 0:29:22 | 0:29:25
in all aspects of life. Elodie is just the happiest | 0:29:26 | 0:29:29
girl in the world. She's finding out new things | 0:29:30 | 0:29:43
about music every day. She's discovered what she really, | 0:29:44 | 0:29:47
really, really enjoys. The workshop has helped Elodie | 0:29:48 | 0:29:52
develop a love of music. We've noticed her confidence really | 0:29:53 | 0:29:56
growing in the last year. When I can see her laughing | 0:29:57 | 0:30:02
and enjoying herself it just Your donations will mean that more | 0:30:03 | 0:30:05
children like Elodie can enjoy love that film, I love how music has | 0:30:06 | 0:30:27
changed her life and given her such confidence. Let's give modern | 0:30:28 | 0:30:32
children more confidence tonight, if you can afford to, please support | 0:30:33 | 0:30:35
the work Children in Need is doing right across the UK by donating | 0:30:36 | 0:30:36

a high five. One, two, three... Love that. I'm so sorry everyone, he has | 0:32:05 | 0:32:09
this obsession with high-fiving, it's starting to be embarrassing. I | 0:32:10 | 0:32:14
fight that. Don't leave me hanging... Over the years there have | 0:32:15 | 0:32:20
been some unlikely musical combinations. Ulrika Jonsson and | 0:32:21 | 0:32:24
Kermit the Frog. One of my favourites. Johnny Vaughan and | 0:32:25 | 0:32:27
steps. Who could forget this one, Katie Price and Peter Andre, look at | 0:32:28 | 0:32:33
that! I mean we should have both come in the tonight. It was a big | 0:32:34 | 0:32:39
tune, massive, huge. What do you get if you cross Shane Richie with | 0:32:40 | 0:32:43
Spandau Ballet? I don't know but it's sure to be Gold. Gold, always | 0:32:44 | 0:32:50
believe in your soul... Enough of that, here's another special | 0:32:51 | 0:32:53
Children in Need performance. True! # I'd bare my soul | 0:32:54 | 0:33:12
to a total stranger # Just to love you | 0:33:13 | 0:33:26
into every morning # I won't do it | 0:33:27 | 0:33:34
to please somebody else # I would write your name | 0:33:35 | 0:33:55
across the sky # I'd sing songs | 0:33:56 | 0:34:20
at the top of my voice # What I'd do for love | 0:34:21 | 0:34:29
can take us anywhere at all # I won't do it | 0:34:30 | 0:35:32
to please somebody else APPLAUSE | 0:35:33 | 0:36:54
CHEERING Big thank you to Shane and Tony. I | 0:36:55 | 0:36:58
can promise you won't see that sort of thing anywhere else. You can say | 0:36:59 | 0:37:02
that again. We've made it to the end of our stint on BBC Two and by some | 0:37:03 | 0:37:07
miracle our marriage is still intact. You'll be pleased to know | 0:37:08 | 0:37:10
I've booked as a second honeymoon, my love. Where are we going? We're | 0:37:11 | 0:37:16
