In last week's quarter final, the competition really heated up. You

:00:00.:00:12.

teased me. That was perfection. That was just brilliant. The return of

:00:13.:00:17.

the swing-a-thon saw Natalie and Artem blow away the competition. It

:00:18.:00:21.

was precision timing. Spot on. Despite being on top of the

:00:22.:00:25.

leaderboard, Patrick found himself in the dreaded dance-off. In the

:00:26.:00:32.

end, we waved goodbye to Ashley. Hello celebrities, your mission,

:00:33.:00:36.

should you choose to accept it, is to get to the final. This message

:00:37.:00:40.

will self-destruct. What on earth are you doing? Let's

:00:41.:00:53.

get back to training. Live from the Strictly ballroom,

:00:54.:02:09.

this is the Strictly Come Dancing semifinal. Please welcome your hosts

:02:10.:02:17.

Sir Bruce Forsyth and Tess Daly. I love that. Thank you Brucie. You

:02:18.:02:41.

scrub up well yourself. It's like being in prison or something.

:02:42.:02:47.

When do I get out? Good evening ladies and gentleman and children,

:02:48.:02:49.

welcome to Strictly Come Dancing the semifinal! Yes!

:02:50.:02:55.

APPLAUSE It's nice to see you, to see you...

:02:56.:03:03.

Nice! Yes, it's nice to see you, Brucie. This is the semifinal and

:03:04.:03:07.

our five semifinalists are raring to go back stage. They certainly are.

:03:08.:03:12.

Four celebrity ladies but just one celebrity man, Patrick Robinson. Any

:03:13.:03:18.

way, I said to Patrick, "You are the last man standing. The hopes of

:03:19.:03:23.

millions of British men rest on your shoulders. Only you can restore the

:03:24.:03:29.

male pride of this nation! Now put on your make up, put on your

:03:30.:03:38.

sequinned shirt and shimmy!" LAUGHTER

:03:39.:03:53.

Nice! This is it ladies and gentleman, after 11 weeks of

:03:54.:03:59.

ballroom battles, we have reached the Strictly semifinals. Tonight

:04:00.:04:03.

they must dance twice, hoping to win ape place in the Grand Final. It's

:04:04.:04:10.

all to play for as our couples dance for our judges' scores and for your

:04:11.:04:15.

votes. Shall we start the semifinal? I think we should, I'll put my teeth

:04:16.:04:24.

in. Don't worry about that, I can't see anything against it at all.

:04:25.:04:28.

After all, it's time to meet the stars of our show.

:04:29.:04:34.

Pop star Sophie Ellis-Bextor and her partner Brendan Cole. BBC Breakfast

:04:35.:04:38.

presenter Susanna Reid and her partner Kevin Clifton. Coronation

:04:39.:04:43.

Street Star Natalie Gumede and her partner Artem Chigvintsev. Model and

:04:44.:04:48.

TV presenter Abbey Clancy and her partner Aljaz Skornajec. And

:04:49.:04:52.

Casualty star Patrick Robinson and his partner Anya Garnis.

:04:53.:05:05.

CHEERING AND APPLAUSE There they all are. You've been so

:05:06.:05:15.

wonderful this series, you really have. There they all are. We know

:05:16.:05:22.

you're doing two dances tonight and after 11 weeks, you must be

:05:23.:05:26.

exhausted. I've spoken to the producer and I managed to arrange

:05:27.:05:31.

some time off for you. That's nice. That's it, time's up. You deserved

:05:32.:05:39.

it. Didn't they deserve it? Only four of these couples can make it to

:05:40.:05:43.

the final, so you can guarantee they'll pull out all the stops to

:05:44.:05:47.

make sure they'll be there next week. I think it's time to dance. It

:05:48.:05:51.

is indeed. Our first couple tonight is Natalie and her partner Artem.

:05:52.:05:58.

Let's hear it. APPLAUSE

:05:59.:06:03.

Their first dance is a salsa, but their second dance, later tonight,

:06:04.:06:11.

will be an Argentine tango. They'll be dancing on a giant chess board.

:06:12.:06:16.

They're going to have massive chess pieces all over the floor. Natalie

:06:17.:06:21.

wanted to know what large chees pieces they could be. I said it

:06:22.:06:25.

could be a big bishop, it could be a big castle or it could be a big

:06:26.:06:32.

knight - if you play your cards right!

:06:33.:06:38.

Good luck to you for this very special night. Here they are in

:06:39.:06:43.

training. Before my dance, I never have any

:06:44.:06:53.

predictions. Anything can happen. On Saturday night, it did. You teased

:06:54.:06:58.

me, it was too much faffing about. You're in deer diafter that dance.

:06:59.:07:03.

-- you're in jeopardy after that dance. I was knocked off my feet

:07:04.:07:08.

with Len's comments. When Len, being the head judge, says those things,

:07:09.:07:14.

you feel like a naughty schoolgirl. The swing-a-thon is an endurance

:07:15.:07:19.

test. It felt amazing to be the last couple standing. You can't be

:07:20.:07:23.

complacent at this stage. We all want to make it through. We're so

:07:24.:07:28.

close now. I don't want to go home tonight. ( Two dance that's week. My

:07:29.:07:38.

mind has just gone. My first dance this week is salsa. If we can make

:07:39.:07:44.

people at home party with us, I think it could be good. I'll bring

:07:45.:07:49.

the party, you bring the steps. Artem surprised me and brought in

:07:50.:07:54.

some messages of support from the public. We really want you to win.

:07:55.:08:00.

Good luck with the competition, Natalie. Good luck. Team Natalie!

:08:01.:08:06.

There were gorgeous messages. All the best for the weekend. I know you

:08:07.:08:12.

can do it. Hi, I'm four years old, good luck Natalie. Oh, my word. He's

:08:13.:08:18.

adorable. This week we're dancing not only to get into the final, but

:08:19.:08:22.

this salsa is a big thank you to everyone who's supported us.

:08:23.:08:28.

Dancing the Salsa, Natalie and Gumede and Artem Chigvintsev.

:08:29.:08:39.

Wonderful. How many turns at the end? A few. I few? I lost count. I

:08:40.:10:33.

think that dress has put the price of Turkies up. Who says that? I'm

:10:34.:10:46.

basted. I thought you said wasted. Let's welcome our judges. Len's

:10:47.:10:52.

grumpiness upset a few people last week. Some of the dancers... BOO

:10:53.:11:00.

Some of the dancers were upset because Len was rude to them. And

:11:01.:11:04.

Craig was absolutely furious, because that's his job.

:11:05.:11:11.

APPLAUSE Len, you're not going to be grumpy

:11:12.:11:17.

tonight. I wasn't grumpy. I was in a good mood. I was trying to be

:11:18.:11:23.

honest. What did you think of that? For me, this is the tightest

:11:24.:11:27.

semifinal we've ever had. Any one of our five remaining ones could win it

:11:28.:11:32.

and any one could go home tomorrow night. For me, and this is not just

:11:33.:11:36.

for you, all of our couples, every move you make, every step you take,

:11:37.:11:40.

every rule you break, I'll be watching you! And I was watching you

:11:41.:11:47.

and I know you've got another dance to come, if you can dance that to

:11:48.:11:51.

this standard, 100%, you're in the final. We're not afraid of Len.

:11:52.:12:01.

Lovely. I couldn't agree more. Nothing has been tighter. Bruno?

:12:02.:12:09.

Look at you. All luscious and sergeuous. -- sentuous. What was

:12:10.:12:16.

good, most people overwhush the salsa and you let it come out. You

:12:17.:12:21.

just had the, that wonderful sense of tease and flirtacious fun, all

:12:22.:12:26.

the ingredients for a fantastic salsa you had. Wonderful.

:12:27.:12:33.

Yes, and what about Craig? Well, I'm a bit upset actually because I

:12:34.:12:40.

couldn't find much wrong with it, to be honest with you.

:12:41.:12:44.

Never mind! That's the most animated I think I've ever seen you. It was

:12:45.:12:49.

just wonderful to watch. It was brilliant. A wonderful routine.

:12:50.:13:00.

Darcey, do you agree? I do. It was, the dance content was amazing.

:13:01.:13:04.

Artem, what you put in there, everything in that suitcase, my

:13:05.:13:10.

goodness. Those underarm turns was beautifully done. Fantastic end,

:13:11.:13:14.

that lunge, bang, right at the end. So many, so clean, so precise. You

:13:15.:13:19.

can be too careful, which is weird. But maybe a bit more frivolous, but

:13:20.:13:27.

fabulous performance. Wonderful again. Off you go. Good luck

:13:28.:13:32.

tonight. CHEERING AND APPLAUSE

:13:33.:13:46.

Now that is the way to kick off a semifinal. Ecstatic praise from the

:13:47.:13:56.

judges. Though Craig was cross because he couldn't find anything

:13:57.:13:59.

wrong with it. How does it feel to have made it this far? Just amazing.

:14:00.:14:03.

It just feels like every week you come out and dance as if it's your

:14:04.:14:07.

last, and tonight it feels like that. It feels so special. Let's

:14:08.:14:11.

hope it's not your last. You have another dance coming up. What's in

:14:12.:14:15.

store? Argentine tango, leg flicking. I have high hopes for

:14:16.:14:20.

that. I have high hopes for the scores, they're in:

:14:21.:14:46.

What a way to start the show. It doesn't get better than that. Your

:14:47.:15:00.

first perfect score of the series. She's shaking. That's my first 40,

:15:01.:15:07.

in my whole history. Thank you. He said "thank you". It couldn't have

:15:08.:15:10.

started better. The first dance of the semifinal has the party started.

:15:11.:15:15.

You don't want to be starting voting until after all our couples have

:15:16.:15:19.

danced twice tonight. For these two call: You can vote for free online.

:15:20.:15:32.

Get permission from whoever pays the bill. Don't call new or your vote

:15:33.:15:40.

won't count as you may be charged. Let's meet our next contender.

:15:41.:15:46.

Now then four 10s and no standing ovation. Can't you get up? Can't you

:15:47.:15:56.

move yourselves? I'd love you lot in Cabaret. For our next couple,

:15:57.:16:07.

Patrick and his partner Anya. Now then, Patrick and Anya did a very

:16:08.:16:14.

raunchy rumba last week. I was very annoyed. If I'd have known last

:16:15.:16:20.

Saturday he was going to be that raunchy, I wouldn't have had the

:16:21.:16:26.

night off. But I did get -- but it got me in a romantic mood. I

:16:27.:16:31.

couldn't help it. So I cooked my wife a little late supper, very

:16:32.:16:36.

intimate. I used all my cordon bleu skills to make her a dish with a

:16:37.:16:45.

French sounding name, Pot Noudelle. APPLAUSE

:16:46.:16:50.

Nearly worked. Here they are in training.

:16:51.:16:56.

The rumba I was pretty apprehensive about because I couldn't get the

:16:57.:17:01.

steps initially and I couldn't get anything from the music. There is a

:17:02.:17:05.

moment that I thought, this is really lovely. I love doing this.

:17:06.:17:09.

You really gave us something I haven't seen before. Darcey said

:17:10.:17:13.

that she saw a different side of you and that's what I was going for. To

:17:14.:17:17.

be top of the leaderboard in the quarter finals is great. It holds a

:17:18.:17:22.

little kudos for a few seconds. I've been in the dance-off. It doesn't

:17:23.:17:28.

get any seizier. Who are you going to save? Patrick and Anya It's

:17:29.:17:33.

fantastic to be saved by the judges. To find ourselves in the semifinal,

:17:34.:17:36.

we have to put everything on the line. To be the oldest male celeb in

:17:37.:17:43.

the final ever, it would be just amazing. I go under. My first dance

:17:44.:17:49.

this week is the waltz. Last time we did a ballroom dance, the judges

:17:50.:17:52.

commented on the frame and the position of your head. Because it's

:17:53.:17:55.

such an important week, everything needs to be perfect. In the training

:17:56.:18:00.

room today, we were played these amazing messages of support. Hi

:18:01.:18:05.

Patrick, I'm out shopping and I think you're brilliant. Don't break

:18:06.:18:09.

a leg and end up in casualty. All the best. Good luck. Go on Patrick!

:18:10.:18:18.

We love you. Go Patrick, see you in the final. You can do it Patrick,

:18:19.:18:23.

all the way to the final, come on, son, you're a smooth legend. I want

:18:24.:18:28.

to do the best dance that I can do for you guys on Saturday. So

:18:29.:18:31.

hopefully the waltz will go smooth as silk.

:18:32.:18:36.

Dancing the Waltz, Patrick Robinson and Anya Garnis.

:18:37.:18:43.

Oh, your mic. What a beautiful routine. That had more rise and fall

:18:44.:20:45.

than a Yorkshire pudding. Now then, whilst you two get your breath back,

:20:46.:20:50.

it's a good time to welcome our fabulous singers, Dave Arch and his

:20:51.:20:53.

wonderful orchestra. APPLAUSE

:20:54.:21:02.

Great. They really are so good. Bruno, start us off. Patrick, look

:21:03.:21:10.

at you, how smart. The poise, the sense of distinction you brought to

:21:11.:21:14.

the stage, you really placed it so well. I could really see you took so

:21:15.:21:19.

much care in getting it right. Overall, you kind of did it. There

:21:20.:21:23.

were a couple of issues on the foot work. I think it's because, I know

:21:24.:21:27.

it's difficult, it's the semifinal, you get a little bit tense - don't!

:21:28.:21:32.

Don't do that. You have to come out here and go for it. Overall it was

:21:33.:21:38.

very good. Don't tighten up because then tiny mistakes tend to creep in.

:21:39.:21:45.

Overall, it was very nice. I've done the microphone. Thank you.

:21:46.:21:52.

Craig? I thought it was absolutely gorgeous, really, really gorgeous.

:21:53.:21:57.

It could have done with a little more swing and sway, a bit of a

:21:58.:22:03.

stronger heel lead on the down beat, but the flow around the floor was

:22:04.:22:10.

magnificent. A lovely move to it. It went so much with the music. Right,

:22:11.:22:15.

Darcey? The improvement in your frame was so improved. I mean, I

:22:16.:22:19.

haven't seen you better in hold before. That was such an

:22:20.:22:23.

improvement. There is a slight impingement on your right shoulder,

:22:24.:22:28.

only occasionally though, just a little. But a charming waltz.

:22:29.:22:42.

Lovely. Len? As the song says "lonely rivers flow to the sea", and

:22:43.:22:46.

that had the most lovely flow and movement to it. I thought that part

:22:47.:22:51.

of it was beautiful. As Darcey said, your upper body and frame was very

:22:52.:22:55.

good. What is the strangest thing with this dancing that must drive

:22:56.:23:00.

people mad, last week and your rumba I complained because you were

:23:01.:23:03.

stepping forward on your heels, now I'm saying to you, you didn't step

:23:04.:23:06.

forward enough on your heels. But that's one of the things. But

:23:07.:23:10.

listen, the dance, the look of it, the way you came down the stairs

:23:11.:23:16.

with that, absolutely lovely. Thank you.

:23:17.:23:25.

Away you go! APPLAUSE

:23:26.:23:33.

You smooth legend. You're a Latin guy through and through but I love

:23:34.:23:40.

you in the ballroom. Thank you. I loved that. Craig used the words

:23:41.:23:47.

"Georgeous and magnificent", high praise indeed. Absolutely, thank you

:23:48.:23:50.

Craig. Last week in the dance-off, did you ever think you'd make it

:23:51.:23:53.

here tonight? I've been trying not to think of next week, the following

:23:54.:23:57.

week, just enjoy every dance as it comes. Again, this is what I'm

:23:58.:24:01.

doing. I had a great waltz. How about the pressure of learning two

:24:02.:24:06.

dances in a week? Tough? It's fine, with work and the rest of it, no

:24:07.:24:11.

problem (! ) You are our last man standing. How do you fancy making

:24:12.:24:16.

Strictly history and being the eldest male star we've ever had in

:24:17.:24:20.

the final? APPLAUSE

:24:21.:24:25.

Thank you. I'm doing it for the over 50s. Come on! Scores are in:

:24:26.:24:49.

All the nines. Get in says Patrick. If you want to see Patrick and Anya

:24:50.:24:55.

make history in next week's final, the number to call is:

:24:56.:25:03.

you can vote online as well. Don't vote until all our couples have

:25:04.:25:11.

danced twice tonight. Still to come: Susanna and Kevin are coming back

:25:12.:25:15.

fighting, with a fabulous foxtrot and can Abbey and Aljaz's samba get

:25:16.:25:19.

them on the guest list to the final. We find out soon.

:25:20.:25:23.

Next up is Sophie and her partner Brendan.

:25:24.:25:28.

APPLAUSE Another popular couple. Everybody is

:25:29.:25:33.

so good tonight. They're dancing to a piece of music

:25:34.:25:38.

from the Romeo and Juliet ballet. I was chatting to Darcey about the

:25:39.:25:42.

ballet earlier and I told her I once met that wonderful Russian dancer --

:25:43.:25:50.

dancer, Randolph Nureyev. She's saying it's Rudolph, but it's near

:25:51.:25:56.

number. -- enough. That's what I meant, Rudolph near enough.

:25:57.:26:05.

APPLAUSE Here they are in training.

:26:06.:26:12.

Before the quarter final, I must confess, I felt very nervous. It was

:26:13.:26:16.

very important to me that the judges appreciate the performance aspect

:26:17.:26:19.

because it was a fun routine and it had a cheekiness to it. I absolutely

:26:20.:26:24.

loved that routine. I am genuinely excited to be in the semifinals.

:26:25.:26:29.

We're nearly at the end of the series, which is very sad. It's been

:26:30.:26:33.

so brilliant. It's a once in a lifetime thing. I thought I might as

:26:34.:26:37.

well just go for it. I have nothing to lose. My first dance this week in

:26:38.:26:44.

the semifinal is the paso doble. I have got a few bruises on my knees,

:26:45.:26:50.

elbows, but it will all be worth it. This week we've had two dances to

:26:51.:26:54.

learn, which is quite daunting. Buff we had a lovely time. We went to

:26:55.:26:59.

Downing Street for the children's Christmas party. There's amazing

:27:00.:27:02.

charities being supported by what's happening in there today. It's a

:27:03.:27:07.

special day so very nice to be here. Fantastic, I feel I know you all

:27:08.:27:11.

because I was watching last night. We met some lovely children. I had a

:27:12.:27:17.

cuddle with a six weekend baby called -- week old baby called

:27:18.:27:21.

Sophie. The support from the public is phenomenal. It's an incredible

:27:22.:27:25.

feeling to know that people are enjoying what we're doing and

:27:26.:27:28.

willing us on. I'm very aware that I would not be here without those

:27:29.:27:34.

people. You're doing so well. Get to that final. Good luck to Sophie and

:27:35.:27:38.

Brendan, you're amazing. Keep dancing! I'm grateful to everybody

:27:39.:27:41.

that's supporting us and I wouldn't be here without them. I won't waste

:27:42.:27:44.

the opportunity they've given me now.

:27:45.:27:48.

Dancing the Paso Doble, Sophie Ellis Bextor and Brendan Cole.

:27:49.:28:03.

What have you done? They're on their feet.

:28:04.:29:58.

Incredible. You must so proud. Well done.

:29:59.:30:05.

I don't think they're going, but I never thought I'd see anyone dance

:30:06.:30:13.

to Alan Sugar's signature tune. It was so dramatic, so beautiful.

:30:14.:30:21.

Craig? For me, it was a little bit starchy and stiff. BOO. It just

:30:22.:30:30.

lacked a little bit of Spanish line, for me. The shoulders were a little

:30:31.:30:35.

bit raised, particularly towards the end. But the attitude you brought to

:30:36.:30:47.

that dance was something else. A great routine. Darcey? That music is

:30:48.:30:53.

so close to my heart and to be able to equal that passion and drama is

:30:54.:30:59.

so difficult, but for me, you came power that I haven't seen you give

:31:00.:31:05.

to a dance before. I really wasn't expecting that. It's true, in the

:31:06.:31:09.

arms, they could have had more strength and curve to them. That

:31:10.:31:14.

shaping was missing, but overall, I love that choreography. I wanted to

:31:15.:31:21.

be on there with you. Fabulous. Did you surprise yourself? Yeah, I

:31:22.:31:28.

think I pulled dancer face. The music had drama and I must say, you

:31:29.:31:32.

interpreted that drama through your body. I've got to be honest, I was

:31:33.:31:37.

concerned about this. Because I've been saying you're a little bit

:31:38.:31:41.

Brittle, a bit weak, but you've come out toned, full on, loads of attack.

:31:42.:31:45.

After this, you've got the second half coming on, American smooth,

:31:46.:31:50.

come out and just wow us like you've just done.

:31:51.:32:01.

Bruno? The content, the passion and the intent in delivering it was

:32:02.:32:04.

incredible. You've done what we've always asked of you - come out here

:32:05.:32:09.

and kill it. You did it. That means so much to me. Another

:32:10.:32:12.

thing, that piece of music has to be one of the most difficult to keep up

:32:13.:32:17.

to it, because the timing an the accent are absolutely never regular.

:32:18.:32:23.

It comes and goes. You managed to keep up with it. Yes, you could have

:32:24.:32:27.

done with a little bit more shaping, but you really made yourself proud

:32:28.:32:31.

with this dance. You surprised yourself. I really

:32:32.:32:36.

did. Thank you so much. Go on then. Well done both of you!

:32:37.:32:39.

APPLAUSE Yes, that was a fierce look you

:32:40.:32:52.

gave. She brought the power to the paso. And the audience went wild for

:32:53.:32:57.

it, standing ovation. I tried to take a snapshot of that in my head.

:32:58.:33:02.

Oh, that that feeling. The atmosphere like tonight? Brilliant,

:33:03.:33:05.

what an amazing crowd. The energy in the room.

:33:06.:33:10.

CHEERING After 11 weeks taking part, how have

:33:11.:33:18.

you - how's the public reaction to you? Overwhelming. I'm very clear I

:33:19.:33:22.

wouldn't be here without this guy and their support. I think we all

:33:23.:33:28.

have been blown away. Up underestimate the amazing affection

:33:29.:33:31.

people have for Strictly and the people doing it. Len has high hopes

:33:32.:33:39.

for your American smooth? Can ittive -- live up to it? Definitely! The

:33:40.:33:43.

scores are in: 35, one score less than your highest

:33:44.:34:03.

score. Gasps of shock over the eight. We don't mind. That felt

:34:04.:34:09.

insane to dance, the emotion, wow. Wait for the next one. Think, Sophie

:34:10.:34:14.

and Brendan are one dance from the final. They don't want to hear the

:34:15.:34:21.

words, "you're fired". You might want to be here for this bit. Call

:34:22.:34:27.

to vote: or vote online. It's a night of double dancing and double

:34:28.:34:31.

the pressure. Tonight, there's more spectacular routines, stay with me,

:34:32.:34:36.

and plenty of surprises. Brendan walking off. Who's next?

:34:37.:34:42.

It's the couple of Susanna and her partner Kevin.

:34:43.:34:51.

APPLAUSE Very popular. As Susanna is a BBC

:34:52.:34:56.

lady I thought I'd buy her a Christmas present. But the sales

:34:57.:34:59.

assistants were so rude where I went. I asked, how much a box of

:35:00.:35:08.

chocolates was. She stared at me and walked away. I asked how much the

:35:09.:35:13.

bottle of perfume was and she also walked away. I said to the manager,

:35:14.:35:18.

"What kind of a shop do you call this? He said, "The pound shop."

:35:19.:35:28.

Here they are in training. Last week, we did the Argentine

:35:29.:35:31.

tango, which felt really dramatic and passionate and intense. Lacked

:35:32.:35:36.

mood and atmosphere for me. We have everything to play for in the

:35:37.:35:40.

swing-a-thon. All about that. We worked hard on our swing-a-thon and

:35:41.:35:45.

we were called off. It felt like we hadn't started. I was upset, because

:35:46.:35:50.

I felt if we were going tonight, I would have let Susanna town. We're

:35:51.:35:54.

at the stage where there's one more show until the final. It's

:35:55.:35:57.

extraordinary to have got this far. We don't want to go home. Our first

:35:58.:36:01.

dance this week is the foxtrot. To get to the final, this foxtrot needs

:36:02.:36:05.

to be perfect and beautiful. I just want to make sure I get this right.

:36:06.:36:10.

Every dance is a challenge for me. With the foxtrot, I think it will be

:36:11.:36:15.

keeping the frame in the right position and making sure that the

:36:16.:36:20.

steps flow beautifully. Susanna has been working so hard this week. I

:36:21.:36:23.

thought I'd give an extra boost by bringing in some messages from the

:36:24.:36:27.

people supporting her. Nice to see you, to see you... Nice! I'm wishing

:36:28.:36:33.

you all the best luck in the world. We think you're superb, well done

:36:34.:36:37.

and fingers crossed for the finals. We want you to do well in the final.

:36:38.:36:41.

We're rooting for you. Do a fantastic job, getting up early to

:36:42.:36:47.

do the TV as well. Good luck. We are supporting Susanna and Kevin!

:36:48.:36:56.

Remember, keep dancing! I love you guys. Listening to their messages of

:36:57.:37:00.

support puts a massive smile on our faces as well. It's magic.

:37:01.:37:07.

Dancing the Foxtrot, Susanna Reid and Kevin Clifton.

:37:08.:37:14.

I'd love one. Dancing is like a box of chocolates. You don't know what

:37:15.:39:09.

you're going to get. You gave us the most beautiful performance. Susanna

:39:10.:39:12.

and Kevin. APPLAUSE

:39:13.:39:16.

it was lovely. Now then, start us off Darcey. I really like the story.

:39:17.:39:20.

I like you playing hard to get. That was nice at the beginning. It

:39:21.:39:22.

carried through. The technique was all there. You were smooth across

:39:23.:39:28.

the dance floor. That was a nice foxtrot, very nice. Great pivot

:39:29.:39:31.

turns at the end. You are shining again.

:39:32.:39:39.

Thank you. Like you should be. Len? It was a lark in the park. There's

:39:40.:39:44.

Susanna, Kevin from Grimsby, there was nothing grim about it. I'm

:39:45.:39:49.

telling you. It was a delight. A touch of springtime on a cold

:39:50.:39:53.

December evening. I thought it was terrific, well done.

:39:54.:40:01.

Thank you Len. The nation's sweet heart at her

:40:02.:40:07.

charming best - all sweetness and light and full of life. I loved the

:40:08.:40:10.

change of pace in the dance from lovely and flowy to the sweeping

:40:11.:40:15.

turns, the story telling, the face and expression, you work today girl,

:40:16.:40:20.

you work today hard. It shows, great. I'm worried about Craig. I'll

:40:21.:40:31.

stand by. Craig? Sickly, saccharin, sweet, all the things I detest

:40:32.:40:36.

darling, but I have to say the dancing was magnificent.

:40:37.:40:44.

There you are. What were you afraid of. It was beautiful. Off you go and

:40:45.:40:46.

be proud. another standing O from the

:40:47.:41:11.

audience. You've had such highs and the lows of last week's bottom of

:41:12.:41:15.

the leaderboard. Darcey says you are shining again. What does it mean to

:41:16.:41:19.

be here in the semifinal? I've put these on so I can properly look at

:41:20.:41:24.

the scores when they come in. It would mean the world, particularly

:41:25.:41:29.

as it's Kevin's first year and we've had such amazing support and it's

:41:30.:41:33.

been bliss to dance in the semifinal. I couldn't believe that

:41:34.:41:36.

we've got this far. Thanks everybody. Its been fantastic.

:41:37.:41:40.

Training for two dances this week, it must have been exhausting. Erm...

:41:41.:41:46.

It's been twice the fun. It has to be honest. We've had a great time

:41:47.:41:52.

this week. What can we expect? I'm getting me chest out. Are you? I've

:41:53.:42:00.

had it shaved especially. How you tease us. The scores are in:

:42:01.:42:25.

They're bouncing off the floor. And why not? What an incredible stuff.

:42:26.:42:33.

Two 10s. Well done. Pulled it out of the bag when it matters. She can't

:42:34.:42:42.

speak now. Call to vote: Or vote online if you couldn't take your

:42:43.:42:46.

eyes off Susanna and Kevin and you want to see them next week. All our

:42:47.:42:49.

couples are dancing two new routines tonight. So Natalie and Artem are

:42:50.:42:54.

ready to tackle the Argentine tango and Patrick and Anya are hoping

:42:55.:42:57.

their paso will put them in the final. Congratulations you two.

:42:58.:42:59.

Let's get back to the dance floor. Dancing next are Abbey and her

:43:00.:43:10.

partner Aljaz. APPLAUSE

:43:11.:43:17.

All these dancers are so beautiful. Their second dance later on will be

:43:18.:43:22.

based on a prom night. A prom night in America is a party you have when

:43:23.:43:26.

you leave school. I remember the party on my last day at school -

:43:27.:43:32.

there were flashing lights, fireworks and lots of great big

:43:33.:43:38.

bangs. Hang "Minute, that wasn't the -- hang on a minute, that wasn't a

:43:39.:43:42.

party, that was an air raid. I lived through it all. Here they are in

:43:43.:43:45.

training. Saturday night I felt extremely

:43:46.:43:58.

nervous. I just thought, I love me dance, I just wanted to go out there

:43:59.:44:04.

and do me best. To hear Craig say... What he did. Biggest surprise of the

:44:05.:44:09.

entire competition. It just felt our hard work has paid off. This week we

:44:10.:44:13.

have to learn two dances in four days. That is really scary. If we

:44:14.:44:17.

get through this week, we're going to be if the final -- in the final.

:44:18.:44:25.

I can't believe it. It feels like a dream. My first dance this week is

:44:26.:44:30.

the samba. The only thing I know about the samba is that it tearifies

:44:31.:44:36.

the life out of me. I'm panicking now. I started doing the dance and

:44:37.:44:40.

realised no matter what I do, it's going to look awful. I really

:44:41.:44:47.

freaked out. I've forgotten everything. Throughout this

:44:48.:44:50.

competition I've tried to show people that I'm working hard and

:44:51.:44:54.

that I just love it. And to have the support I've had has been amazing. I

:44:55.:44:59.

really want Taufiq win. Abbey you're great, I love your personality.

:45:00.:45:03.

You're going to do really well. You're our favourite. We hope you

:45:04.:45:11.

win. Go head Abbey. Go! You're one of the most glamorous mums I've ever

:45:12.:45:17.

come across and you dance well. It's funny you forget people are actually

:45:18.:45:22.

watching. Never in my life have I felt support like this. For everyone

:45:23.:45:28.

to be behind us feels incredible. Dancing the Samba, Abbey Clancy and

:45:29.:45:30.

Aljaz Skorjanec. CHEERING AND APPLAUSE

:45:31.:45:34.

CHEERING AND APPLAUSE enjoy it. Breathe it all in. She's

:45:35.:47:41.

nearly crying. Len? To combine rhythm with technique and

:47:42.:47:44.

performance, this is hard to achieve. For me, you did and there

:47:45.:47:48.

were so many wonderful little touches. You did those and slipped

:47:49.:47:57.

in a little timing. It was, I'm telling you, you're a natural. That

:47:58.:48:03.

was fantastic. Yes, you are a natural.

:48:04.:48:10.

Bruno, what due think? And apart from the technique, sex on legs! Sex

:48:11.:48:18.

appeal. You can turn it on. Me too actually, I think. I mean in a good

:48:19.:48:27.

way. It was spontaneous, it wasn't forced. It just came. It was like

:48:28.:48:34.

watching Bridget Bardot in woman created - oh, I don't know. I can't

:48:35.:48:38.

say anything, I'm going to be into trouble.

:48:39.:48:41.

I will get into terrible trouble, but you know what I mean. Loved it.

:48:42.:48:48.

You're absolutely right. Now then, Craig? I think Bruno's on the turn,

:48:49.:48:52.

darling. LAUGHTER

:48:53.:48:59.

I'd like to have seen a little more bounce. But you coped with those

:49:00.:49:05.

rhythm changes brilliantly. It was really, truly amazing.

:49:06.:49:13.

Craig, I'll do the jokes, all right? That was wonderful. Finish up with

:49:14.:49:18.

Darcey. You have got the vibe. I was, you know it's fresh, vibrant.

:49:19.:49:22.

To each dance, you are so natural, as Len said. You don't lose any of

:49:23.:49:26.

the detail, any of the technique and that is difficult to do. You're

:49:27.:49:32.

going flying into that final. You really are. It was beautiful.

:49:33.:49:41.

You deserve it. Don't be so... Go on, wallow in it. Off you go.

:49:42.:49:45.

You left Bruno speechless. I don't think that's ever happened in

:49:46.:49:58.

Strictly history. Did you enjoy that? Loved it. It's a great song

:49:59.:50:02.

and we just went out and tried to have fun. Because it could be our

:50:03.:50:06.

last time on t dance floor. Well you have one more dance tonight. Well,

:50:07.:50:11.

yeah! You started the show as a novice, nerves have been a factor.

:50:12.:50:15.

How are you feeling now, are you feeling like a dancer? She is one.

:50:16.:50:22.

Guess what, you are one. Thank you. The scores are in:

:50:23.:50:46.

A well deserved three 10s. I'm getting a hug as well. I'll take it

:50:47.:50:54.

where I can get it. I don't mind a sweaty hug. They need more than

:50:55.:50:58.

faith to get them to the final. They need your votes. Call to vote: Or

:50:59.:51:08.

vote online. We've reached the halfway point of

:51:09.:51:12.

our sensational semifinal. Let's look at the leaderboard:

:51:13.:51:24.

A high-scoring night tonight. Anything can happen in the next half

:51:25.:51:30.

hour as all our couples are about to dance again. Here's a reminder of

:51:31.:51:33.

their performances so far: What a night. Remember, don't vote

:51:34.:53:12.

until later on. Round two coming up. It's time to welcome back Natalie

:53:13.:53:19.

and her partner Artem. Now before they perform their final

:53:20.:53:23.

dance of the evening, here's what the judges think Natalie and Artem

:53:24.:53:25.

need to do to get to the final. Natalie constantly comes out with

:53:26.:53:43.

great performances. As a dance, corking. Technically, she has been

:53:44.:53:47.

absolutely brilliant. Have a look at this. I was pal p Tating, %

:53:48.:53:58.

operating and -- persperating and flatulating. That was gorgeous. You

:53:59.:54:02.

tend to be perfect, you tend to be predictable. Sho has to do something

:54:03.:54:07.

we don't expect. Lacked a little bit of drama. For Natalie, she's relied

:54:08.:54:13.

on her technique. It is so leer cull and -- lyrical and beautiful to

:54:14.:54:16.

watch. But all the dances become the same, especially the ballroom for

:54:17.:54:23.

me. For me, too much whooshing and not enough foxtrotting. Semifinal

:54:24.:54:27.

and the stakes are high. I want her to come out and really show me the

:54:28.:54:36.

real Natalie. Has Natalie plateaued? Argentine tango, Natalie and Artem,

:54:37.:54:40.

that should be right up her street. If Natalie can really get into the

:54:41.:54:45.

character of the Argentine tango, it's going to be fantastic. Craig,

:54:46.:54:51.

you might have to dust off your ten darling. Don't hold your breath. My

:54:52.:54:56.

biggest challenge is bringing a sense of intimacy to the dance. I

:54:57.:55:00.

have to dance as if Artem is the only one there. Taking Argentine

:55:01.:55:07.

tango to a semifinal is not an easy task. It has to be pretty perfect.

:55:08.:55:16.

You only -- you're only as good as your last performance. That's got to

:55:17.:55:20.

come across on screen as well. If it doesn't, it could be the end of the

:55:21.:55:22.

road. Dancing the Argentine Tango,

:55:23.:55:28.

Nataalie Gumede and Artem Chigvintsev.

:55:29.:55:32.

CHEERING AND APPLAUSE They're up again. They're with us

:55:33.:57:24.

now. They're not tired any more. That was lovely. The red devil, I'll

:57:25.:57:34.

call you. Wasn't that beautiful. Incredible. What astonishes me is

:57:35.:57:37.

the precision, the placement, the line, it was almost like watching a

:57:38.:57:42.

surgical operation, everything was right on the spot. The beauty of the

:57:43.:57:49.

lines was mesmerising. The intensity of your rapport with Artem that you

:57:50.:57:53.

started in the first half of the show continued, in another way, that

:57:54.:57:58.

I found absolutely voluming and beautiful to see. -- involving and

:57:59.:58:10.

butying to see. -- beautiful to see. Craig? I agree, actually. The

:58:11.:58:18.

gaunchos need to be looser. This dance needs to look improvised. It

:58:19.:58:22.

should look like Artem is leading you. I felt that you were taking the

:58:23.:58:29.

lead sometimes. And your feet need to pass through one another. They

:58:30.:58:35.

have to come together when you do the ochos as well. Tiny details, but

:58:36.:58:42.

what a dance routine! Darcey, what did you think? The expertise of

:58:43.:58:49.

difficulty could not be better. It is an extraordinary dance you gave

:58:50.:58:53.

us. I would only like a little more attitude in your character. It was

:58:54.:58:57.

very sensual for an Argentine tango. I would like you to be a little

:58:58.:59:01.

more, you know, come on, give it more, babe. You did it in those last

:59:02.:59:08.

three moves, you gave it again another perfect end. The finish was

:59:09.:59:20.

fantastic. Len? Dance is like fire, some dances should warm, Argentine

:59:21.:59:26.

tango should burn. I'm telling you, you sizzled out there, girl! You're

:59:27.:59:36.

a sizzler. Get up there, sizzler, take him with you.

:59:37.:59:40.

you? This whole experience has been so magical and I've never felt so

:59:41.:00:18.

alive. Thank you so everyone who's supported us. We've been thrilled to

:00:19.:00:24.

perform for you. The scores are in:

:00:25.:00:46.

Bringing the 10s. What about these scores tonight? What about the

:00:47.:00:52.

standard of dancing. Are these two your king and queen of the dance

:00:53.:00:55.

floor? Check you have the numbers and vote: Or vote online as soon as

:00:56.:01:05.

everybody has danced. The atmosphere in the ballroom tonight is reck

:01:06.:01:10.

trick. If you can't get enough -- electric, if you can't get enough go

:01:11.:01:17.

to Twitter, Facebook for more. Patrick and Anya are next.

:01:18.:01:26.

Now then, it has been a series of ups and downs for Patrick. Last week

:01:27.:01:31.

saw him topping the leaderboard and then ending up in the dance-off. The

:01:32.:01:35.

second time, by the way, in the dance-off. So tonight, can they win

:01:36.:01:40.

over the public as well as the judges? Here's what the judges think

:01:41.:01:50.

about Patrick and Anya. Patrick most certainly has been our

:01:51.:01:54.

best male celebrity. He had natural rhythm from the beginning, but he

:01:55.:01:59.

didn't know how to contain it. He's nifty for 50. His energy is that of

:02:00.:02:04.

a 20-year-old. The last few weeks he's come to life. He started and a

:02:05.:02:07.

little bit faltering. He started rough. He used to get it all wrong.

:02:08.:02:11.

If you make a mistake, keep the flow. Then the bad hand. In the

:02:12.:02:16.

dance-off. After that, something happened. That was the quickstep.

:02:17.:02:21.

Beautiful. He just changed. The energy was phenomenal. I loved the

:02:22.:02:26.

theatricality of the whole thing. I think he knew what his strength was.

:02:27.:02:32.

He gets the character of the dance. Chitty Chitty Bang Bang was an

:02:33.:02:36.

example. Was amazing. He took a classic and made it his own. A lot

:02:37.:02:40.

of it is about the detail. That's the key to whoever wins Strictly

:02:41.:02:45.

Come Dancing. Let's hope it continues and it gets even better.

:02:46.:02:49.

It's semifinal, everyone's got to up their game. In ballroom, he needs to

:02:50.:02:57.

refine. In hold he looked down a bit. His Latin is fantastic. My

:02:58.:03:02.

expectations are very high. My only concern with the paso doble is that

:03:03.:03:06.

one of Patrick's secrets is his rhythm and paso doble is more of a

:03:07.:03:10.

march. You don't want hip action. If he can pull that off, Patrick the

:03:11.:03:17.

matador, woo-hoo. He doesn't we won't see him in the final. This has

:03:18.:03:24.

the attitude of the mad tore and -- matador and has strength. It's very

:03:25.:03:28.

definite. I just have to focus to get it right. A very serious week

:03:29.:03:34.

because it's semifinals. This is a serious dance. We need to pull

:03:35.:03:38.

everything together to give the best possible dance. Having worked so

:03:39.:03:41.

hard for three months, it would be a real shame not to get into the

:03:42.:03:48.

final. Yeah, I'd be gutted. Dancing the Paso Doble, Patrick

:03:49.:03:50.

Robinson and Anya Garnis. And again, how many are we going to

:03:51.:05:53.

have tonight? Even upstairs. My friends are there. Well done both of

:05:54.:05:57.

you. Craig would you like to start us off? Yes, well, it had control

:05:58.:06:04.

and it had command. But it didn't have a Spanish feel at all. It was

:06:05.:06:10.

very square and I think the dance actually exposed your weaknesses.

:06:11.:06:21.

Walking seemed to be a problem. It was the walking that was very odd.

:06:22.:06:26.

That's the first thing that you need to correct. The attitude. Darcey? I

:06:27.:06:31.

was waiting for you to turn it on as well. There was attack there, but

:06:32.:06:38.

there was no grrr. Anya I felt that you were leading him. That shape,

:06:39.:06:42.

it's so important in a paso to create shape and tuck that bum

:06:43.:06:47.

under. I was missing that. It's very tricky for me. I know it's tricky,

:06:48.:06:53.

you have a nice bottom. You have to tuck it under. Not your best dance.

:06:54.:06:59.

I accept that absolutely. A shame. Len? I saw arrogance and attitude

:07:00.:07:03.

coming out there, but it was a bit... Yay. But it was a bit off and

:07:04.:07:11.

on. But it didn't maintain it. However, I thought that the whole

:07:12.:07:18.

dance was full of verve, energy. OK, more shaping, but I liked it. Good

:07:19.:07:21.

job. He liked it. Bruno? You had great

:07:22.:07:27.

power, great determination. You led very, very well. You played with

:07:28.:07:31.

your cape. The thing is what happens in this circumstance, you want it so

:07:32.:07:36.

badly that what happens you lose the finesse, you lose the Spanish line.

:07:37.:07:40.

You lose the details that at this stage are very, very important. The

:07:41.:07:44.

performance was very, very good. The content was there. It needed a

:07:45.:07:48.

little bit more artistry. But overall, it wasn't bad, my darling.

:07:49.:07:56.

We all loved it. They all stood up. Don't forget that Patrick.

:07:57.:08:00.

Mixed response from the judges there. But the audience loved it.

:08:01.:08:13.

They were on their feet. How due feel? I felt pretty good. It's gone

:08:14.:08:17.

better in rehearsals, about you pretty good. Do you think you've

:08:18.:08:22.

done enough to get to the final? Who knows the secret of the black magic

:08:23.:08:27.

box. If you get there, will you give us some of your spectacular lifts in

:08:28.:08:33.

the show dance? You're the lift meister? I don't know about that.

:08:34.:08:40.

Yes, yes, you will. Yes. Anya says so. The scores are in:

:08:41.:09:02.

Let's hope everyone feels the same as Craig getting booed. Ring to

:09:03.:09:10.

vote: Or vote online later, if you think Patrick and Anya deserve the

:09:11.:09:14.

extra push into the Grand Final. Three more couples left and then the

:09:15.:09:19.

vote opens. I'm so excited. Just can't hide it. What does our

:09:20.:09:23.

next couple have in store? Next to dance again are Sophie and

:09:24.:09:33.

her partner Brendan. From week one, Sophie has excelled

:09:34.:09:40.

in the ballroom dances. So she must be hoping to impress with her next

:09:41.:09:44.

dance the American smooth. Here's what the judges had to say about

:09:45.:09:54.

Sophie and Brendan's Strictly story. For me, Sophie - clean, clear,

:09:55.:10:00.

precise. I think she's one of the most naturally elegant competitors

:10:01.:10:05.

we've ever had. Her charleston was beautiful. We expected so much

:10:06.:10:10.

because of that show she did. I think that's the key. That

:10:11.:10:13.

charleston was a blessing and a curse. Our expectation flew. When

:10:14.:10:18.

she finds the character of the role, she's brilliant. When she's not sure

:10:19.:10:22.

of the character, it really holds her back. I would like a little bit

:10:23.:10:26.

more passion coming out in it. And getting a little bit more involved

:10:27.:10:32.

in the dance. When she has to go beyond the comfort zone, she starts

:10:33.:10:37.

to almost giggle. In the rumba, she started to giggle and go, "What am I

:10:38.:10:43.

doing? No, you can't do that. She's introverted in her emotions somehow.

:10:44.:10:47.

I know it's there, but it doesn't come out. I want to see Sophie

:10:48.:10:52.

explode on that dance floor. There's so much more in you. Get out there

:10:53.:10:56.

and attack it. She's got the looks. She needs the power. Can I tell you

:10:57.:11:02.

what her biggest competition is? It's herself. Convincing herself

:11:03.:11:06.

that she's a good dancer. We have know she's good. She doesn't think

:11:07.:11:10.

she is. American smooth and Sophie could be stunning. American smooth

:11:11.:11:16.

is a class dance. If she can get that Hollywood flavour, there she

:11:17.:11:19.

goes straight in the final. The only thing that Sophie will fail is her

:11:20.:11:22.

consistency all the way through. It's making sure that she's focussed

:11:23.:11:26.

from the beginning to the end. If she doesn't do that, I don't see her

:11:27.:11:30.

going through. I think this American smooth needs to be a real showpiece.

:11:31.:11:36.

We have a few lifts. The trouble is if that goes wrong, and it hurts,

:11:37.:11:39.

you're suddenly aware of the consequences. Now we're in the

:11:40.:11:43.

semifinal, you're aiming for perfection. I know I will give it

:11:44.:11:47.

all I have got on the dance floor because I would love to be part of

:11:48.:11:51.

the final. Dancing the American Smooth, Sophie

:11:52.:11:52.

Ellis Bextor and Brendan Cole. MUSIC: They Can't Take That Away

:11:53.:11:57.

From Me CHEERING AND APPLAUSE

:11:58.:13:48.

They don't stay sitting for long. Wonderful, absolutely. You did it.

:13:49.:13:56.

Brendan, coming down reminded me of me in the morning.

:13:57.:14:02.

Darcey? This is your dance. I mean, those three lifts, from the top, the

:14:03.:14:06.

middle and then the bottom, it was so graceful. You came in and out of

:14:07.:14:11.

them seamlessly. That is so classy. Yet again, you ooze sophisticated

:14:12.:14:19.

glamour. I loved that performance, well done. Len? Loved the lifts. I

:14:20.:14:24.

loved the musical interpretation. I loved the whole feel of the dance

:14:25.:14:28.

throughout, from those lifts right through, it had a beautiful flow to

:14:29.:14:33.

it. There was an elegance and sophistication. A couple of times

:14:34.:14:38.

your head went a little bit how's your father, sorry Brendan. But I'm

:14:39.:14:44.

not going to lie to millions of people. No. That's what happened.

:14:45.:14:54.

Pretend if you want. It was beautiful. So much style. So

:14:55.:15:05.

impeccable. For me, your best performance to date. You can do it.

:15:06.:15:16.

You did it. Craig? The only thing that bothered me that -- bothered me

:15:17.:15:20.

in that routine is that you came out of hold. I don't feel you're holding

:15:21.:15:24.

your own. I only feel confident when you're in Brendan's arms, sadly. But

:15:25.:15:29.

it was a beautiful dance. Packed full of style, as Bruno said. Tell

:15:30.:15:37.

yourself, you were wonderful. Such an elegant routine, wasn't it?

:15:38.:15:54.

The judges loved the lifts. Did you feel you were floating on air? I

:15:55.:15:58.

think the Strictly experience is made for dances like that. They feel

:15:59.:16:02.

sublime. Gorgeous, Brendan, how proud are you? It's very hard to put

:16:03.:16:08.

into words. Every week has been a delight and tonight, really tops off

:16:09.:16:12.

a magical Strictly experience. The audience are fantastic. This girl is

:16:13.:16:17.

fantastic too. Can she make it to the final? Yes.

:16:18.:16:22.

Absolutely. Thank you, scores are in:

:16:23.:16:45.

A ten. Her first ten. That's what it feels like, she says, long overdue.

:16:46.:16:56.

Thank you to all of them. Sophie dreams of being in the final. Don't

:16:57.:17:01.

take that from her. Ring to vote: Or go online and choose your favourite

:17:02.:17:05.

when the vote opens later in the show.

:17:06.:17:07.

It's been a night of high drama and high scores. Who's next?

:17:08.:17:13.

Next to dance again are Susanna and her partner Kevin.

:17:14.:17:20.

It's been a series of two halves for this couple. Their paso doble in

:17:21.:17:28.

Blackpool brought the house down. Topped the judges' scores, but last

:17:29.:17:33.

week's Argentine tango saw them at the bottom of the leaderboard.

:17:34.:17:36.

Here's what the judges think they need to do to make it through to the

:17:37.:17:44.

final. For me, Susanna is what this show is

:17:45.:17:48.

all about. She's gone from reading the news to being the news on the

:17:49.:17:53.

dance floor. No-one expected her to have that kind of natural ability to

:17:54.:17:58.

connect, to play different parts. What I loved was her paso doble. It

:17:59.:18:07.

was like a buffet of Spanish tapas. She sold that number. She dominated.

:18:08.:18:12.

She was on top of the occasion. She is a bit of an all-rounder. Her

:18:13.:18:17.

waltz was beautiful. Susanna struggles with parts of Latin, for

:18:18.:18:23.

instance her cha cha cha. It did not pop or zing. It was mumsy.

:18:24.:18:27.

Throughout the series there's always some dance that's don't suit you. It

:18:28.:18:34.

was the hip action, it didn't have that natural, easy flow to it.

:18:35.:18:38.

Sometimes they underdo it or overpush it. It was the first one

:18:39.:18:43.

she didn't look comfortable in. The performances are always endearing.

:18:44.:18:48.

It's the finishing of the movement. She's close. It's little details

:18:49.:18:54.

here. If they get kicked out in the semifinal, devastated. I'm a little

:18:55.:18:58.

concerned for Susanna. Salsa is a club dance. She has to come out and

:18:59.:19:01.

really sizzle. They need to get this dance right, other-wise I'm afraid

:19:02.:19:06.

it's game over. The salsa is a tough dance to

:19:07.:19:09.

impress the dances with in the semifinals, lots of hip movement.

:19:10.:19:14.

And there's complicated steps and lifts. It's quite a challenge doing

:19:15.:19:19.

it in the semifinal. It can be here, but we don't want it to be here and

:19:20.:19:24.

present it. Whereas we got criticised in samba for being muddy,

:19:25.:19:28.

that's quite good in salsa. It's the difference between getting to the

:19:29.:19:31.

final and going home. We have to bring everything we've got to the

:19:32.:19:32.

dance floor. Dancing the Salsa, Susanna Reid and

:19:33.:19:36.

Kevin Clifton. Here they are, Susanna and Kevin, a

:19:37.:21:39.

lovely performance. Well done. Have you shaved your chest yet? I

:21:40.:21:45.

have. Oh, you have. I always found a blowtorch was the best way. It looks

:21:46.:21:48.

great. Len, what did you think? Full of

:21:49.:21:52.

energy. There was no holding back. It was all or nothing. The final or

:21:53.:21:58.

bust. With all that intensity, all that attack, on occasion it got a

:21:59.:22:05.

tad messy here and there. But, it is what it is. You come out here and I

:22:06.:22:11.

can really see you want to make it to that final. You work so hard. You

:22:12.:22:16.

throw everything you've got into it. You sell it beautifully. I'm with

:22:17.:22:20.

you with that. But it is the semifinal. Len is right, the

:22:21.:22:24.

movement because you put so much into it, becomes a bit messy, you

:22:25.:22:29.

don't finish properly. We told you before, precision. We love the

:22:30.:22:32.

energy. Precision, precision, precision! These are the salsa girls

:22:33.:22:36.

I like dancing with though. Craig? Darling, if I had a pound for

:22:37.:22:48.

every facial expression you made, I'd be a multimillionaire. I could

:22:49.:22:53.

make you a rich man, Craig. Exactly. A little bit heavy foot for me and

:22:54.:23:03.

messy. Vivacious, darling. And Darcey, darling? For me, you looked

:23:04.:23:09.

so much more relaxed and natural in the Latin, I haven't seen that.

:23:10.:23:14.

That, you gave us tonight, 100% disco energy. The leg action is

:23:15.:23:20.

something that comes in and out. But still full on. And we all loved it.

:23:21.:23:27.

I loved dancing it. Off you go.

:23:28.:23:30.

Still she shimmies. I love that. I know the Latin hasn't been your

:23:31.:23:46.

favourite. But I've never seen you have so much fun. Did it feel good?

:23:47.:23:53.

It felt ridiculously, fantastically good fun. To add to a muddy samba, I

:23:54.:24:00.

can say I've done a messy salsa. Now all the judges agreed that you

:24:01.:24:04.

threw everything into that. What would it mean to get through to the

:24:05.:24:09.

final? It would be phenomenal. It really would. I mean, I just adore

:24:10.:24:13.

dancing with Kevin. It's a total privilege and an honour. It has been

:24:14.:24:21.

an incredible privilege to dance not once, but twice with you. Thanks

:24:22.:24:25.

very much. And he shaved the chest for you.

:24:26.:24:31.

My children are watching. Judges please, scores:

:24:32.:24:48.

That's all right. Not your best or your worst. The That's what the

:24:49.:25:01.

judges thought. Call to vote: Or vote online. That vote opens very

:25:02.:25:06.

soon. We have just one couple left to take to the floor and dance for

:25:07.:25:10.

their place in the Grand Final. Ladies and gentleman, are you ready?

:25:11.:25:16.

CHEERING Take it away.

:25:17.:25:22.

Back for their second dance it's our final couple of the evening, Abbey

:25:23.:25:30.

and Aljaz. It's been a series of highs and lows

:25:31.:25:35.

for all our couples. Abbey is no exception. She was the first

:25:36.:25:40.

celebrity to score a perfect 40, but has also been in the dance-off. Now

:25:41.:25:45.

before they dance, here's what the judges think about Abbey and Aljaz.

:25:46.:25:54.

At the beginning, Abbey lacked a bit of consistency. She used to throw

:25:55.:25:59.

away her moves. She wasn't aware of her body. She couldn't sort out her

:26:00.:26:03.

left foot from her right foot. In the ballroom, she's elegant and you

:26:04.:26:07.

kind of get that straight away. It really showed first in the Latin how

:26:08.:26:12.

her confidence failed. She suddenly is nervous and uncomfortable. It

:26:13.:26:15.

took a while for her to believe in herself. You can see a progression.

:26:16.:26:21.

It's always happening. Every week, it's better. Every week, the

:26:22.:26:25.

performance is stronger. She has gone from absolute zero to hero as

:26:26.:26:32.

far as I'm concerned. That salsa, absolutely knocked us for dead. That

:26:33.:26:44.

was great. Mesmerising. A-maz-ing. That girl can dance. Dusted off my

:26:45.:26:49.

ten for Abbey. I'm hoping that she maintains that standard. Maintaining

:26:50.:26:56.

the A game. If she loses it for a second then mistakes happen. It's a

:26:57.:27:02.

bit like walking a tight rope, one false move and you're out. American

:27:03.:27:08.

smooth, it's perfect for her. Fluent, ease of movement, little bit

:27:09.:27:14.

in hold. Oh, come on Abbey. Don't let me down. Abbey's nerves could be

:27:15.:27:19.

her downfall. We know she's had problems in the past. This is the

:27:20.:27:23.

semifinal. Let's hope Abbey's nerves don't take over like they have in

:27:24.:27:27.

the past. I'm so excited to do the American

:27:28.:27:32.

smooth. I have been for the whole series. We're struggling a bit with

:27:33.:27:36.

timing. It needs to look perfect. It's the semifinal, the judges are

:27:37.:27:42.

not going to let us get away with anything. The thought of it coming

:27:43.:27:46.

to an end breaks my heart. I'm still not ready to go. I don't want it to

:27:47.:27:50.

end. Dancing the American Smooth, Abbey

:27:51.:27:51.

Clancy and Aljaz Skorjanec. CHEERING AND APPLAUSE

:27:52.:29:53.

Same again, two standing ovations. It was lovely, darling. Absolutely

:29:54.:30:00.

lovely. Now then, Bruno? Another totally captivating performance from

:30:01.:30:08.

you two. I tell you, you've got the full package - signed, sealed,

:30:09.:30:15.

delivered, I'm yours! I wouldn't take that too seriously.

:30:16.:30:23.

Don't be naughty. Go and have a lie down.

:30:24.:30:32.

Craig? Yeah, it was full of charisma. You really have an

:30:33.:30:36.

enormous amount of style. You're so watchable. I adore watching you

:30:37.:30:43.

dance. There is a small point, darling, of your sickled feet in the

:30:44.:30:47.

lifts, which you need to sort out. Apart from that. Nobody saw it, but

:30:48.:30:54.

you. Darcey? I saw it as well. But really, you are high school musical

:30:55.:30:58.

glamour, babe. Really, it was stunning. You came out there and you

:30:59.:31:02.

sold it to me. You are a natural finalist. Just don't sickle the foot

:31:03.:31:06.

in the lifts, all right? Perfect, though.

:31:07.:31:12.

She's a natural dancer. What did you think? I'll see you next week in the

:31:13.:31:18.

final. Don't let him down.

:31:19.:31:23.

It was wonderful. Two standing ovations. Off you go.

:31:24.:31:28.

What a way to end the show. Our prom king and queen. How was that for

:31:29.:31:45.

you? It was amazing. I loved that dance. She was looking forward to

:31:46.:31:49.

the American smooth. But still wafting up here on cloud nine. Len

:31:50.:31:53.

and Darcey said they're going to see you in the final. How much do you

:31:54.:31:57.

want to be there? I'm desperate to be in the final. I don't want it to

:31:58.:32:01.

end. It's been the most amazing, amazing experience of my life. How

:32:02.:32:05.

proud are you of abbey to get this far? There's no words to describe

:32:06.:32:11.

it. Every week she delivers a million per cent and never lets me

:32:12.:32:15.

down. I'm so proud, so happy. Proud are you of Aljaz, his first series

:32:16.:32:20.

in the semifinal. I know! He's amazing. It's a love-in. The scores

:32:21.:32:22.

are in: It's raining 10s. Congratulations.

:32:23.:32:51.

That's it, our prom king and queen have danced all they can. Now it's

:32:52.:32:55.

up to you to get them through to the final. Call to vote: Or go online.

:32:56.:33:03.

The vote opens in a few seconds. Get ready, all of our couples have

:33:04.:33:08.

performed two amazing routines. Where does that leave them on the

:33:09.:33:09.

leaderboard? Those points are only half of the

:33:10.:33:27.

story. Remember, you are voting for your Strictly Come Dancing 2013

:33:28.:33:30.

finalists. So pick up the phone and go online, voting is now open.

:33:31.:33:35.

CHEERING It's open.

:33:36.:33:46.

Full terms and conditions are online. Lines close at 8. 55pm.

:33:47.:33:52.

Here's a reminder of all of tonight's show stopping

:33:53.:33:54.

performances. What a night! You fantastic

:33:55.:36:52.

semifinalists have lived the Strictly life for three months and

:36:53.:36:55.

none of them want to go home when they're so close to the Glitterball

:36:56.:37:02.

trophy. To fall at the final hurdle would be heart breaking. It's

:37:03.:37:11.

hideous, oh, man. I can't stand it. You do feel very exposed. Just

:37:12.:37:22.

desperate to hear your name. You're flooded with relief. That hug, after

:37:23.:37:27.

you know you're through, is the best hug of the night. I'm still not

:37:28.:37:34.

ready to go. You're hoping that you've done enough. We don't want it

:37:35.:37:39.

to end. We'd be devastated. I'd be gutted.

:37:40.:37:45.

Brucie, what a night. Nobody wants to leave. Your votes could save

:37:46.:37:50.

them. Voting closes at 8. 55pm. Didn't they do well. Yes. A

:37:51.:37:56.

semifinal to remember. All five of our couples deserve to be in the

:37:57.:38:01.

final. You really do, you all deserve it. Sadly, only four of them

:38:02.:38:05.

can make it. Your votes will help decide who makes it into the Grand

:38:06.:38:10.

Final. Join Tess and Claudia to find out which two couples will face our

:38:11.:38:15.

final dance-off in the Results Show tomorrow night at the earlier time

:38:16.:38:19.

of 7pm. Be there! We've got the World

:38:20.:38:27.

Exhibition Dance Champions and Celine Dion will be performing. How

:38:28.:38:30.

nice. That's tomorrow night. Concentrate. In the meantime, keep

:38:31.:38:37.

dancing!
