Episode 45 Strictly - It Takes Two

Hello. It is Friday. Folks, have we got a fantastic show for you

tonight. Look, it is our chipolatas - Dani and Vincent are here!

APPLAUSE If you are all very well behaved, we will sneak next door

and have a look at some of our celebs practising. Now, I must

introduce you to our Friday Panel. All the way from California, from

Dancing With The Stars, it is Mark Ballas. APPLAUSE Katherine Jenkins

is Strictly: It Takes Two. Please welcome your host, Zoe Ball.

APPLAUSE Hello! Welcome to It Takes Two. In

just 24 hours 18 minutes and 18 seconds our six couple also be

dancing like they have never danced before. It is finally upon us - yes,

the dance fusion weekend! APPLAUSE It is crazy. In a minute, I will be

chatting to Dani and Vincent who will be tackling a

quickstep/Charleston. Let's have a reminder of their Viennese waltz.

A Viennese waltz with Italian flair. It was enchanting. Thank you.

was sweet, but, for me, it didn't blow me away, sadly. The whole

thing had a charm about it. I can only say one bit of Italian - Bon

Jovi! LAUGHTER I thought it went well. I loved it. It was beautiful.

I loved it. I didn't stare at you the whole time, which was good!

did you do that?! Please welcome Dani and Vincent. APPLAUSE You

clever Viennese waltzers. Were you pleased with Saturday? I thought I

was in Venice for a bit. Then I realised I was in Shepherd's Bush.

I loved it so much. The gondola and the image, did it help bring the

romance to the dance? You fell in love for a little bit? We are in

love, aren't we? Are you? LAUGHTER You are friends for the life in the

love! Angela sent a message, "I think you are a fabulous dancer,

Dani. You look lovely every week. Bellissimo." Well done. "You are

not a bad dancer either, Vincent." Craig said at the end of saying

lots of nice things, "It didn't blow me away." How do you feel?

Craig's been really nice every single week. It was bound to happen

at some point. We have been lucky with him. I'm a bit gutted that it

didn't blow him away. I loved that dance so much. It's been one of my

favourites. Never mind. confident did you feel in the

results show that you were going to be going through? Not confident at

all. Really? I'm never confident. You don't know. With Kimberley

being in the bottom two and Nicky, it could be any of us. It is

terrifying. We are now in the quarterfinals. I can't believe

that! How important is it... there? It is all about YOU! How

important is it now for you to get those steps perfect at this point?

That is it. We have to do everything it takes to be there. I

will. You will! LAUGHTER That is good. How critical do you reckon

the judges will be? They will be quite severe and serious about it.

At this stage of the competition, the best dancers should get through.

That's my little Dani! Good. Listen, Darcey does keep going on about

your line, your top line. I know. About showing off an expensive

necklace. We have splashed out on this little number. I love it!

the craic? Sorted! He is constantly saying innit! Innit! Let's go for

hilarious! LAUGHTER He is hilarious! APPLAUSE You know we

Wow! This weekend... My head doesn't fit in it let alone my ego!

Dance fusion this weekend, I like that. You two have the quickstep

and the Charleston. How goes it? is actually good. I wasn't, I

didn't think the quickstep and the Charleston would go together. But

they do. They go together really nicely. We are learning quite a

lot! It is the teaching. You did a quickstep at Wembley. Has it all

come back to you? No, it is all different. It's not really helped

doing it before. OK. Other than, it is fine. It is challenging. First

time you have done a Charleston on this show. I know. Can you believe

it? Are you any good at it? I don't know. I'm better! I have been

helping him! LAUGHTER He is great. I have potential! All right. Let's

listen to the music. # Happy feet

# I've got those happy feet. # We have two two fronting it. This

must be the perfect match? I hope so. I hope we blow Craig away.

are so close now. Next week is the semifinals. How much do you want to

be there? We want to be there so much. It would mean the world to me.

I have enjoyed this experience so much. There's only two weeks left.

If I could stay in for the next two weeks, I will be very happy. Not to

influence the votes, but what would you do in the semifinal if you

another Pro Challenge result. This week we launched our 2012 World

Record Pro Challenge. At the moment, Erin Boag is top of the leaderboard.

Can her fellow Kiwi knock her off the top spot? He hopes so! Please

welcome Brendan Cole. APPLAUSE Come on, Champ! Nice to have you back.

So nice to be here. We can lounge. OK, kickball changes. How many had

you done in a row before you attempted this? Five-and-a-half!

Well done(!) Last year, you came second. I think it was rigged.

much would you like to win it this year? It would be nice to crowned

Kickball Change Champion of Strictly 2012. It was tough. I went

in all arrogant... How unlike you(!) Now I have had time to

reflect, I lem less confident. I will win! -- I am less confident. I

will win! Here we go. This is how you got on. Quite an easy challenge

for me. I like a kickball change. Looking forward to it. I am better

than everybody else at this challenge. I will be victorious!

Hello, Brendan. Hello, judges. do you think you will do? Very,

very well. We know you are fast, your footwork is efficient. Looking

forward to it. Ready? Ready. you ready? I am. Three, two, one,

Fantastic! That was impressive. Richard? It was strong, steady. You

did a good job. Well done, you may leave the floor. The hardest thing

is keeping the rhythm. You start to lose your mind as to where you are.

Are you on the kick, the ball or on the change? In the middle, I

started to go funny in the rhythm. I still think I was victorious.

APPLAUSE You see, I hate it when you get confused between the ball

and the change! Shocking. It can happen to the best of us. How do

you think you did? Maybe managed 60 or so. Not really sure. It was a

weird one. I didn't watch that properly. I was too concerned about

the fact I had a spray tan and I looked very orange. I know! Don't

adjust your set! Let's see. I can reveal that you performed...

Dramatic! You performed 65 kickball changes in 30 seconds. I love it!

APPLAUSE Is that a win? Do you want to look at the leaderboard?

really. Let's see the leaderboard. Did I lose? Look, you have beaten

Robin Windsor. Arrogance does not pay. It doesn't! Erin Boag at the

top. Could the girls win this year? Come on! Yes, now that I'm top boy

out of two... You want the girls to win. I do. It is all about centre

of gravity and girls are much more... You have a baby on the way.

We got you these. Ah! A blue and a pink because we don't know if it is

Hello! Katherine, you are a massive Strictly fan. How was Dancing With

The Stars? It was amazing. I had the best time. I made amazing

friends. I loved every minute. it nice to be back together? It is.

It's lovely to be reunited and we get to dance tomorrow. It will go

out on the show next weekend. On the results show. And you are

going to be performing one of your singles from your Christmas album?

Yes. Shall we have a look? # Hark the herald angels sing... #

Katherine Jenkins! Gorgeous. Mark Ballas, hello? How are you?

doing well. My Mum fell off her chair when you walked in! Is it

lovely to be dancing again with Katherine? We had a great time

dancing together. She has still got it. She has! You never forget it I

suppose. What was her best dance? She had a lot of good ones. The

paso was good. The jive was really good. She had a lot of good ones.

love that! I did have duds! I didn't like the rumba. It is a

funny dance. That was for a different reason! I will leave you

two to chat. I have to speak to Matthew Morrison. Hello. Matthew

Morrison! APPLAUSE A new series of Glee is about to start in January.

At the end of the last episode, Rachel is going to New York, Kurt

didn't get into New York, Mercedes has a record deal and you are going

to marry Emma. What do you want me to say?! Surely, all of that - can

you tell us anything about the new series? It's a complete departure

of where we were before. I call it Glee 2.0. We see them in New York.

We get a new crop of kids in the choir room. It's going to be a lot

of fun. We are taking the show outside of the high school.

Exciting times! Let's have a look at our couples and what they are

dancing this weekend. Denise and James, it is the combination, they

are doing the fusion dances. They are dancing jive and quickstep.

Katherine, I remember you had a bit of trouble because you had to do a

sexy wriggly bits. I was freaked out by Mark trying to get me to be

sexy. The thing about the jive is it takes so much energy. Mark used

to make us do it three times back- to-back. So by the time we did the

real one, we were ready for it. What do you think of Denise' jive?

I think it's looking great. It's animated. It's so hard to fuse two

kinds of dance together. Mark, you have done this fusion dance style

which is still confusing us. We will see it tomorrow and love it.

You have done it on Dancing With The Stars. How easy is it to put

two dances like that together? Fortunately, they have two good

ones. Jive and quickstep work together. Sometimes you can get two

random ones, like rumba and Samba, or something... OK. We may have

some of those to discuss in a moment. There is one in there.

might be Nicky. We will talk about that in a minute. This is what they

are dancing to. Reet Petite! You have sung along to some marvellous

songs. Jackie Wilson. Paint for Morrison! I love Jackie Wilson. It

is a great song for this. Let's discuss Louis and Flavia. They have

a tango and a rumba. That is the weird combo. Why? Because rumba is

really slow. It is one of the slowest Latin dances and tango, for

the most part, has pace. It is not a slow dance. So it will be

interesting how they get in-and-out of the figures being sexual and

like connecting like that and then being dramatic. They are dancing to

# With or without you. # Do you immediately think

rumba/tango? Yes, I do! It is a great rumba. It is not a great

tango. This doesn't sound good. He got two tens last week. Can our

Olympian be a champion? I like watching these two dance. They are

interesting together. The rumba is hard for getting the expression

across and I know he struggles with that. After last week, I hope he

will feel more confident. Kimberley and Pasha are doing a cha-cha-cha

and a tango. Matthew, they have scored 34 for the last four weeks.

34 out of 40. How can they get those scores up? Wow, she is great!

She is amazing. Wow. I think the thing is, listening to the judges'

criticism and taking what they say and incorporating it into the next

dance. I could listen to you talk all day! Let's listen to their

music. # It's raining men! #

Is this like a gem of a song to dance to? Yeah. You would hear this

song out. My Mum likes this song. love this song. It's a girl's song.

Nicky and Karen, they are dancing a Samba and an American Smooth.

Katherine, a lot of the males have struggled with the Samba. How did

you get on with it? What do you think of Nicky? I think the Samba

is really difficult. It is the one that, for me, I didn't realise it

was so technical. It really is. I don't think this is going to be

easy. I love Nicky. I think he's lovely to watch. I'm hoping he will

do well. He has been in the dance- off, he was in the dance-off last

week and the week before. How can he come out of that? I think

rehearsal is the best thing. She's wearing boots. What is that?! Would

you wear boots in rehearsal?! Sorry. Say what you want! This is the

music. # You are giving me a heart attack.

It is number one in the hit parade. It is Olly Murs. Could it be number

one on the leaderboard? It is great they are dancing to such a popular

song. The young vote will love that. Who knows. I hope they do well.

love him. Lisa and Robin are doing a tango and a cha-cha-cha. How well

do these combine, Mark? These two go together quite well. The counts

can still work. I love her. She has so much personality. She is cute.

She is. She is really popular. Do you think she could get to the

final on that brief clip? Yes. She's got the personality for it.

But it is a dance competition. I think she needs to... Come on. The

music? # Voulez Vous... #

Lisa hung out next door just to see you. We love you! Dani and Vincent

are doing a Charleston and a quickstep. Dani has never been top

of the leaderboard. Lots of people are saying she is the dark pony. Do

you think, what are you thinking of this? I think she's a lovely frame.

I enjoy watching her. I think that she's - she is a dark horse. She

could do well. It is about progression. She's on the journey

of getting better. Happy Feet is what they are dancing to.

# I've got those happy feet. # I want to do a... Go on! What do

you think? Happy scores? That is a great song for that combination.

The Charleston and quickstep go well together. She is moving quite

well. Her frame looks good. That is a good piece of music and two

dances. Do you think being an actress will be an advantage?

Absolutely. I think a lot of it is about passing on the emotion.

Having gone all that way and you got to the final and that Donald

guy won! How tough is it at this point in the competition? It is all

about keeping your head in check and that is why I think sports

people do well. I lost my head! LAUGHTER Stop laughing! I have an

important question. Who do you want to see win? Katherine Jenkins!

been glorious. Thank you so much for coming. APPLAUSE Over the last

11 weeks our couples have been giving their all to the dancefloor.

We would all agree they wouldn't want to change a thing because they

have fallen in love with dancing. The last few months have been like

living the dream. The moment I fell in love with dance is when I got to

catch Robin at the end of my cha- cha. That moment has changed my

life forever! To stand and hear the roar from the audience, that is

something that will live me forever. I have loved every minute of

learning every different dance. My turning point was the week of our

Viennese waltz. Me and Pasha felt like we had connected. That was a

milestone for me. Kimberley loves to dance. Week after week, she

really works hard and I'm proud of her. The last few months have meant

everything to me. I am having the best time of my life. I think our

turning point would probably be the tango and also the quickstep at

Wembley because that was pretty mega! I realised that Dani was

getting in love with dancing after the second week. We had the salsa

and she started believing that she could do this. I fell in love with

dancing on Strictly the first time I stepped on to the studio floor.

Instantly! I just loved it! I can't say one dance that I would like to

do again with Denise because there's so many. She is brilliant.

Amazing! Very proud of her. last few months has been emotional.

I think when I really started to enjoy the dancing is when I started

learning the Viennese waltz. It made me feel like a gentleman.

so proud that Louis went for it with the Charleston. The reaction

was brilliant. I have a few personal highlights. My foxtrot at

The Mask. The Charleston was epic. The Argentine tango, that was the

moment where I actually really felt that I could dance. I have never

met someone with so much fight in them. When he gets on that

dancefloor, he completely turns into a dancer. Proud is too little

of a word. He's brilliant. It's me. I'm up here. I have snuck in. Look,

it is only Shimmy Jordan! I'm so tired. You having a lie down? Well,

I think the fusion of a quickstep and a jive is going to take it out

of you? Yes. Has he managed to remember it all? We will see. We

have had a couple of runs today and it's gone well. Fingers crossed,

Zoe. Otherwise you will get so slapped! You did the jive before

and it was one of the dances of the series. Has that helped? I loved

the jive. Some of the steps are similar - well they are the same.

It does help a little bit. Because it went well before, I feel more

pressure. You are so good. It will be brilliant. Anything you are

worried about? Remembering the steps! OK. People keep reminding me

about it all the time! Do they?! Forget it now! Don't worry about it.
