Episode 51 Strictly - It Takes Two

Hello and welcome to Monday's It Takes Two. It is our last week,

everybody. But what an amazing semifinal it was. The curtain came

down on our West End duo. Please use your jazz hands for Lisa and

Robin. APPLAUSE It is hip, hip hooray as the judges put them

through to the final. Denise and James are here. APPLAUSE And a

question - is it Strictly True or Strictly Baloney? We are joined by

Bruno Tonioli tonight. APPLAUSE This is Strictly: It Takes Two. May

Live from Television Centre. This is Strictly: It Takes Two. Please

welcome your host, Zoe Ball. APPLAUSE Hello. Welcome to It Takes

Two. So the semis are over and we have our Strictly Come Dancing

Finalists. Yes, let's give them a cheer. Here are the Strictly

headlines: Thank you. This is him! Come and

say hello! APPLAUSE Give him a round of applause. The last time!

Thank you. This weekend, Lisa and Robin crashed out of the

competition but they went out with a bang and for the first time in

nine years, they left Craig I don't know what the devil Craig

is going to say. He is laughing. That is a good sign, I think.

floor spin did it for me, darling! LAUGHTER I tried! Kimberley Walsh

is back in the top ten and she scores another perfect hit with the

Charleston. You weren't flying economy, you were flying first-

class! It's the F-word darling, fab-u-lous! And after 11 weeks of

intense training in which we have seen sprained ankles, broken bones

and bruised egos, our finalists have been chosen. Here are the

fantastic four. Ladies and gentlemen, our Strictly Come

Dancing Finalists. Kimberley and Pasha. Louis and Flavia. Dani and

Vincent. Denise and James. We will see all of you next week in the

Grand Final. And finally, Louis Smith had a lot of spare time

backstage and he was being a naughty boy and started to spread

rumours about his competition. girls have head lice - that is why

she has to wear that net so people don't catch it from her. I hope

when the head lice are gone, she can fit back in. It is not nice. I

don't think she wants to bring it up. I would prefer not to talk

about it. See! I told you. Those were the Strictly head lice - sorry,

headlines. That is the Strictly news. Kimberley Walsh does not have

nits! Now even more backstage gossip. Here is all the action from

behind-the-scenes this weekend. It is actually here, the semifinal.

Argh! Last man standing. Looks like it is me and the girlies. It is all

the girls left now. We are Louis' chicks. It would be unbelievable to

get to the final. To fall short would be devastating. I would love

the chance to go for the gold and get into the final. Right then, got

our shoes? Ready. Let's rehearse! One will walk on, one will walk off.

Some things only happen to you when you are on Strictly - like today!

My name is in lights! I'm sitting on his shoulder and whoosh! It took

me a while to trust, to drop back. Get up! He has two bossy women

around him! Can't handle it! Apparently, he is quite good at

this! Does it feel weird watching Vincent do it with someone else?

It's fine. I'm used to it. someone did my pommel horse routine,

I would be like, "What are you doing?" Amazing. How do I do it? I

don't know nothing! You can never have enough tan! Five minutes. Oh!

Stress of Strictly is unbelievable! Good luck, mate. You too. We are

all this close so it's scary! because the celebrities and pros

are doing two dances, I will not be taking it easy on them. People want

to go through to the final. Just about to go live. Taxi! Live from

Television Centre, this is the Strictly Come Dancing semifinal!

This week has been the best semifinal ever. I think everybody

deserved to be in the final. Unfortunately, someone had to go.

That was Lisa and Robin. Any time you leave Strictly Come Dancing, it

is disappointing. To leave in the semifinal, so close to the final,

is devastating. I'm going to miss her so much. I love Lisa and she

has been just a beautiful, beautiful person on this show.

was the semifinal to beat all semifinals! I'm telling you - if

you don't watch next week's final, you have got a screw loose!

sure I saw her flying. Last time they entertained us for the last

time. Please welcome Lisa and Robin. APPLAUSE Was that you? I know!

have to say, Lisa and Robin, so many people hugely disappointed

that you didn't make the final. Congratulations on coming so far,

close but no cigar. How are you feeling? We are so proud. To get as

far as we got when I thought after one ballroom I would be back to

Manchester and here we are and it's been phenomenal. It is thanks to

the public. The public have been on side the entire time. We are so

grateful. They love you. What a couple of performances to go out on.

Did you love it? Yeah, completely. It is when Robin said and we were

choosing to do that camp salsa, which was great. Then we got to do

musical theatre, which is my dream. Musical theatre on national

television. With Lisa in the background, which you have sold to

an insurance company! The judges have been full of praise for Lisa's

performances. How proud are you? wouldn't know where to start. Lisa

is the biggest personality in the competition. It showed on TV. It

was something none of the other contenders had. It is what people

found infectious. The glitter box is there. I'm all right. I'm OK.

How did you feel when you knew you were going in the dance-off against

Denise? I said on Thursday morning, "If I'm in the bottom two, there is

nobody I can beat." At the end of this routine, because I did make a

mistake, I said, "Thank you." I knew that it was going to be our

final dance. What a phenomenal dance to go out on. We have loved

you. You have brought so much joy to this show. We really have loved

you. Here are your best bits. dancer you will be enjoying life

with Riley is Robin Windsor! I knew from day one we were going to have

fun all the time. I love my life. Hey! He is brilliant. Fabulous!

There's some underlying talent so watch this space. That was grand,

big, beautiful, exuberant entertainment! Yes! I have to be a

princess. I will try to be. You have grace. I'm more of a fast-

boppy girl! It is a challenge. I love a challenge. You gave a

beautiful ending. If your thought our cha-cha was fast, wait till you

see the jive. This needs more speed! She needs to be herself.

is fast, fun and furious. Let's hope it's not fatal! There was

plenty of hanky-panky and you are a goer! LAUGHTER I would be nothing

without Robin Windsor. He has flipped my world upside-down by his

brilliance. He makes me laugh so much. You were going at it like a

spinning banshee! We are concentrating on

choreography this week. Just pure dancing.

It is nice to see you doing something serious. The routine was

amazing! Footwork all the way this week. That gets me one step closer

to Wembley. I would give anything to go to Wembley. Impeccable timing,

ferocious footwork, darling. Performing at Wembley? Life doesn't

get much better than that. You make everyone feel fabulous. Look at

this. Enjoy this! It is the best feeling I have ever had in my life.

Immensely proud. She has worked so hard from the very beginning. She

will never stop dancing. If Eric and Ernie are looking down, they

are cheering you on! I know at this point, I am probably the weakest

dancer. Always a fabulous performance. You always give your

all. Dancing again next week Lisa and Robin! Oh, Robin! Lisa and I

did not expect to get this far. You don't want to go home. When it

comes to entertainment, you are in a league of your own. It is

fabulous. I love it. I love, love, love watching you dance! You are

the people's champion. I'm having the time of my life. I don't want

it to stop. Now it is time to find out who has the last place in the

Strictly Come Dancing Final. Denise and James. Denise and James. Denise

and James. This whole experience has been the most amazing, you are

one of the loveliest people I have ever met. You have a heart of gold.

Every single second of this has been magical. I love you. I can't

thank you for what you have done for me. You have made me the

people's champion. I will forever be indebted for you for that. I

know I have a friend for life. You are right there! You are a gem!

Darcey was in pieces. Everybody was. The gallery were in pieces. How

much will you miss each other? won't. We will be in touch all the

time. We have made friends for life! It's going to go on and on.

Of course. What was your favourite performance? The foxtrot to Natalie

Cole. Everyone talks about our cha- cha. It was wow! For me, personally,

that week, we worked so hard and the whole hat and cane thing. I

loved it. And you have been ordained the people's champion by

Sir Len Goodman. Somebody told me that you were mobbed today. Today I

couldn't walk four paces. Everyone is like, "Give us a twirl, Riley!"

It was lovely. To have all the public on side, what they have seen

is that every week I have gone out there and I have enjoyed myself. I

love performing and to do it with Robin, it has been mega. How has

this show changed your life? It's flipped joup side down everything.

Everything -- flipped upside-down everything. We have won. Everything

has been so positive. There's not one negative thing about us doing

the show. It is brilliant. I thank everybody, everyone backstage, the

team that work on it are amazing. And I want all my friends to do

Strictly because it's the best experience ever. Give us your

like to see go on and win the show? Denise and I want everybody to

realise she is not a trained dancer and she deserves this. Brilliant.

Tonioli! APPLAUSE Give it to me! Wow! And a flash of tummy! Where

have you been? I have been busy. I have been busy with America. This

is the first time I was available. I'm here for you and for you!

have loved your Strictly True or Strictly Baloney. Thank you. What a

series it has been. Could it be one of the best finals? Definitely.

Superb. The margin between them, you can't call it. There is hardly

a point between them. I wish I had a half a point to differentiate.

They are all so good in different ways. They have done an amazing job,

all of them. Lisa included. Wasn't she fantastic? Everybody loves her.

She was a true inspiration. The four remaining ones are incredible.

They are so good. The final will be sensational. How will people

choose? Let's look back at the dances that have secured their

places in the final. Denise and James. Technically, she is the best

dancer. How does she find herself in the bottom two? I cannot

understand that. Sometimes I feel she is so good she doesn't need our

support. I have to emphasise that. You have to vote. Nobody is safe.

The margin is so small. And the public vote is so important. If you

don't vote, they will go. We were very surprised. What was so

brilliant about her tango? tango, it was incredible. There was

a sequence towards the end, there were a couple of sharp links. The

build-up, not just technically, they build it up beautifully to a

climax. It was clean, it was sharp, it was powerful, it was dramatic.

Everything a tango should be. If you look, the lines, the posture,

the footwork, everything was superb. Perfect. And why did you love her

rumba? You were emotional after this? That rumba was special. They

did something completely different. They played it - usually, they go

for the raunch and the sex. This was played as a romantic love story.

Every step had a meaning. Everything was delivered with total

conviction. There were some steps that were contemporary in feel. I

thought it was so inspiring. We were watching a film. It was beyond

dancing. It was one of the most inspired rumbas I have seen. There

you go. James Jordan will be very happy! Kimberley and Pasha. You

judges loving them at the moment. As are the public. Two tens for her

again. An American Smooth? Look at that. Look at that. Rita Hayworth

and Hollywood! It is about the extra glitz. Look at that. She is

HOT! Again, what happened with her - she has blossomed in the last two

weeks. She's always been there near the top but just now we start to

see somebody that is at ease with herself. She interprets the music

beautifully. She shines. She has done - that was superb. Then she

did the Charleston? You see, what happens is the contrast. You go

from this kind of super-sexy Hollywood star, into suddenly this

kind of hot flapper! Look at this. Incredible energy. Incredible steps.

Great fun. People, the house was - people were screaming. I thought

they were going to come through the ceiling. Louis and Flavia. Everyone

was disappointed in his jive. Not the best scores? The thing is, we

are getting towards the final and he has worked very hard. Look at

the face and the interpretation. We are going towards the final and

there are details - the footwork has to be right. What was wrong?

The kicks and flicks were a bit weak. They were not sharp enough.

They were not tight enough. Sometimes he was flat-footed. He

played it well. The jive has to be tight, sharp, precise, compact and

energetic. And all went into the delivering of the character and the

technique wasn't quite as good. Louis goes away, Flavia gives him a

slap, he comes back... Sports people take the knock and they know

that they have to play the next match and it doesn't matter. You

have to win the next one. He did it with that amazing foxtrot. Stunning.

His highest scores... That was the best ballroom he has ever done. He

looks superb. The foxtrot, everybody thinks the foxtrot is a

ballroom dance. It is very difficult to do. To do it correctly

is so hard. He's done it. Brilliant. Bang! In the final. So over the

weekend, you did compare Dani to Ginger Rogers. You said, "She's

grown up into the dancing." She has. She's very young. She doesn't have

the - it surprises me because she doesn't have much experience. She's

all been very good, very clean, very well-placed. You have to

embrace different characters. It is like each dance as a role. She is

starting to do that. You saw in the little American Smooth, she was

doing this lovely '40s details. Again, the foxtrot was very good.

She always tried to get the footwork right. She pays a lot of

attention to it. Now she is starting to bring the character in

as well. She's always been very constant and very clean and very

precise. Now we are starting to see a little something hot happening

there. With the Argentine tango, she sauced it up! You did give her

a ten. Yes. When you start, you see a different side of her. We know

that she's going to be clean. She's never went wrong. She never put a

foot wrong. Now she plays it like a grown-up. We have a woman now! She

has grown up. Amazing. It is the final on Saturday. Can you call it

at this point? How can you? I mean, it is unmissable. This final is

unmissable television. Hopefully, they won't fall on their bum.

pick, which is going to be interesting. I can't tell you about

it. It will be very interesting. The showdance is always the one

that nails it. If they get it wrong, they will lose. Bruno, thank you.

showed you one of our professionals dancing about. Who was

moonlighting? How do you do that? Look, it is Karen! APPLAUSE

Beautiful girl. Now it is time to welcome Denise and James who are

officially in the Strictly Come Dancing Final! APPLAUSE Thank you.

Are you all right? Yes. You have been having a little cry? We are

quite emotional. With Lisa and Robin, we are sad to see them go.

Then we were chatting and we were setting each other off. Also, you

are all exhausted. You have worked so hard. Yes. Congratulations on

getting into the final. Thank you. So well deserved. It's not been the

easiest of rides. Are you happy? are thrilled. We wanted to get to

the final. At the same time, it is difficult the situation that we

were in on Sunday. You all become so close. At this stage, you don't

want anybody to go. Yeah, it's - I don't think people at home realise

how emotional this show makes you. You live, eat and breathe Strictly.

Yes. It just... All five couples should have gone to the final.

Let's pretend next week is not happening! To be saved by the

judges and see Lisa go, was it bitter-sweet? Yes. The thing is, on

Saturday night, we performed probably two of our best dances

that we have performed throughout the series. For us, not only to be

in the bottom two was - it is sad to know that you have - that people

haven't voted for you. But then to see how Lisa was and Robin were

when they were in the bottom two as well, literally everybody was

crying. I know. It is very sad. good thing is, you are in the final.

I know! Listen, we are really happy. Enjoy it. Craig got booed for

giving you a nine for the tango. How proud were you of Denise?

Unbelievable. I could feel the audience lifting half-way through

the routine and they kept lifting and lifting and the routine -

because I choreographed it - built and built until the end. I haven't

experienced an audience like that before where they erupted. It was

such a great feeling. The semifinal was such a brilliant show.

Everybody lifted their game. Then James got emotional after the rumba.

You said that was... Did I? I don't get emotional! No, just the feeling

dancing it because, as Bruno said, I tried to make it more

contemporary, not your traditional sexy, raunchy rumba. It is what the

music asked for. It was so nice to dance something like that. We got

in trouble with Ola, though! Over the last three months, we know that

it's not gone unnoticed that you have had a perfect partnership. We

think we might have got to the bottom of the key to your success.

Really? Honesty with a capital H! Oh no. Have you cleaned your taeth?

I want you to stay away from me. Want a mint? You know that picture,

that's what you look like! wouldn't pay you a compliment. Your

head is big enough already! have aged ten years from this show.

That's working with you! You are on your way out, love! Yes, put both

chins there. At least I have still got my own hair. At least I have

got my own teeth! Brilliant. uses the same jokes every time.

The judges' pick, they have chosen one that you could possibly improve

on. A showdance. And your favourite dance. What have you chosen for

your favourite dance? Charleston that we danced at

Wembley. Craig gave you a nine. What did he want? More explosion?

Perhaps if I do it on my own we might get a ten! That is what we

said! What have the judges picked for you? Are we allowed to say?

We are dancing the jive. That was week two in the competition. We are

quite happy about that. Have they given you any tips? Darcey said

that my shoulders were too high in what you call the Lindy thing!
