Episode 50 Strictly - It Takes Two

Hello. Welcome to Friday's It Takes Two. I'm just a bit excited. It's

the semi-finals tomorrow. Nobody is going to rain on their parade after

last week's four tens. Kimberly and Pasha are here!

APPLAUSE So good. Also, we're coming to you

lot. Galloping into the semi-final, it is the Falla Bella Dani and her

Italian stallion, Dani and Vincent are here.

APPLAUSE It's Friday. We'll have a peek at

the studio next door. You've heard them, would you like to see them.

They are our Friday panel, it's JLS!

APPLAUSE This is It Takes Two. Everybody in

love, go put your hands up. Live from Television Centre, this

is Strictly It Takes Two. Welcome your host Zoe Ball.

APPLAUSE I can't stop, shimmy. Welcome to

two two. It's Friday and just 23hoirz, 58 -- 23 hours, 58 minutes

and 50 seconds until we see who takes their place in the final.

Here's a reminder of Dani and Vincent's brilliant chickstep.

That was extraordinary. Stylistically, it was salute

perfection. The hops, the runs, the whole sequence was a delight.

yum pig's bum, that was fun. I loved it. Well done. You did a

massively great job on that routine. That is the best thing ever. I'm so

happy and so relieved. I want to get more 10s because that felt well

good. Yeah, we got two, there's another two to come. Let's do it.

Congratulations on a brilliant chickstep, I think we're calling it.

Finally your first 10s of the series. Well done. You must have

been so made up. I was over the moon. I was not expecting that at

all. Yeah when I got one and then I got one after it. So I got two.

Amazing. Vincent, you'd never done a charleston before. You go out and

get two tens. Amazing. I don't know how I did it. I even got milk by

bottle when I was little. And I can still do it. You are meantal.

They're going crazy now. You were quite overwhelmed. Yeah... I have

no idea what he meant by that at all. I'll rewind it later and

explain. You were quite overwhelmed after your performance. You got

really emotional. Why? I don't know. We worked really hard last week. I

love the charleston. I wanted to do well. Then we got a standing

ovation from the audience. It was a bit too much. That was a standing

ovulation. It was! Darcey said that you have seriously improved

technically. That must be wonderful to hear. Absolutely. This man is a

genius and I couldn't have done it without him. Look at him. "Off

course." We have noticed that with you two, you spend as much time

thinking about your tummies as training. I'm cooking the pasta. So

we have a toe mauta -- tomato sauce to the left. We need some cheese.

We call this pomodoro. What's that? Tomato. Then the tort Leonie. And

the pizzas. With the slauxy. -- salami. Tagga telly -- tagliatelle.

Then we finish our meal with a thank you. No ess suppresso. No, we

had the real thing. Two dance that's week Dani. I know everyone

is saying how tough it's been. One of those dances is the Argentine

tango. Are you a fan? I love it. It's always been my favourite dance.

As soon as I was paired with Vincent I knew I wanted to do it.

I'm glad we saved it to last in a way. In a way. Yes but doing it in

the same week as learning another routine as well probably the best

idea. I love it. You are the master, so you have chosen some proper

traditional music. Let's hear it. Flicky, flicky kick. Oh. Passion.

It is your speciality is there a huge pressure on you and is Dani

any good? Yes of course. The Argentine tango is completely

different from any of the other dances we have performed. The

ballroom and Latin, which she knows a lot, tango is completely

different. Hi to start from scratch and we're running out of time. We

need an extra week. What's the toughest thing, anything you found

particularly tricky? Probably all of it. Yeah. Do you know what, it's

not too bad. It's just the legs and the feet and the kicking and I'm

terrified of kicking him in the wrong place. What about the passion.

Who are the lifts going? They're OK. We haven't done lifts since week

two, was it? Yeah. It's a bit a shock. And I can't feel my ribs

right now. Other than that I'm OK. You've been in the final once

before with Rachel Stevens, how much do you want to be there again?

This is the time. This is the time to get that trophy wince and for

all. I can only do it with her, this little girl here. Woman, sorry.

wait to see it. Thank you Dani and Vincent! Since its launch in 2004,

Strictly Come Dancing has become a global phenomenon. Don't take my

word for it, take a look at this. can't believe Strictly we've been

going for ten series. This show has taken over the world. It's a

New Zealand had their own version, Dancing With The Stars. I was a

judge every year. I know you understood it but I don't think you

had enough time to capture that in the dance. Being a judge you get to

give constructive criticism. On my sheet here all I have down is

"marvellous". We're only a small country, four million people, and I

think we had about 1.5 million people watching it which is big

numbers. About three years into me being a judge, they decided to

bring my good friend Craig to Sid alongside me. I think Brendan is

speaking a load of rubbish to be honest. You've had your turn

Brendan. You can just shut it for a moment. I've got a lot of respect

for him but sometimes don't always like what he says on the panel.

Dancing With The Stars, looks the same, still has Len and Bruno. They

also do team dances where you are scored on collaborations with other

members in the show. I had the best time. I learned to doopbs with

makes me very happy. I made amazing friends. I loved your paso. It was

just in your face. We have a couple of different dances much we just

started introducing contemporary hip-hop, jazz, bhangra, Bollywood.

It's good. We have to change things up so it doesn't get monotonous.

I'm Chris, one of the four judges on Dancing With The Stars. In

France the show is number one in its time slot. We have about six

million viewers every week. In France, on a Saturday night, it's

absolutely unheard of. Main differences is that the French

public react very much to story telling. In France, we'll have a

theme. We will do something like symphonic week where we'll use

modern music but we'll reorchestrate it but with a 60-

In France, we have two scores that we give out for each performance.

We give an artistic score and we give a technical score. Now it's

the show with the biggest buzz. It's the place to be on a Saturday

night. It very clearly has the potential to keep going. Strictly

is more than just a TV show. It's an event. Yes, a bit of competition.

A bit of glamour and a lot of show. I think over here on Strictly, we

set a bench mark. We have some of the best dancers inlet world on

this show. People are treated by magic by some very talented people.

It's family entertainment. Well said Brendan. They saved the best

APPLAUSE Wow! Congratulations on a perfect

score last week, four tens. It was amazing. Have you come down? I have

been on a high all week from. It I still can't believe it. It did

happen ction right? It did. We have tapes. We can prove it. When you

finished the routine, did you have a little, yes, you've nailed it

moment? I wouldn't go that far. But I knew that I had thoroughly

enjoyed the dance and Pasha had too. So I was hoping that we might just

beat our 34. But then I was like... Could you have expected that? When

the scores were coming in, you're standing with Tess, what was going

through your mind? I was like Christmas is already here. Santa

you've been so good to me. I didn't expect it. I couldn't believe it.

Even when we were walking down right after, that I was like,

really? All night we kept looking at each other like... I cried. I

was weak from dieting, that's all it was. But loads of people were

crying. Two dances this week. You go from that to two dances. How

stressful has it been? Do you want the truth? It's really, really hard

to learn two dances in such a short space of time. But we're get thring.

Getting there. We better be there! It's tomorrow. I think Pash hasn't

come down from the four tens. In the training room he has been

getting carried away with himself. Kimberly isn't even getting a look

lost my place. Two dance that's week. One of them is the American

smooth. That's taken from your American smooth. That was my part

your frock might look like. It looks saucy. What's the biggest

challenge for you in this dance? you know what, it's kind of a lot

about the character and really getting the mood. When you're

learning things, you are concentrating on doing everything

right that sometimes you lose the feeling. I need to let go a little

bit. Like you said, it's a saucy dance then you have to make it

sharp but also smooth. He's off again. All right! I love this dance.

The charleston also which you're doing, great fun. Have you enjoyed

the training? It's so much fun. It's just a great dance. You can

really just get into it and enjoy it. You still need to get

everything right. Not like that. Not quite like. That let's hear the

tough actually. We have quite a few tricks that are a bit scary.

much do you want to be in the semi- final? In the final rather. We will

get 40 for sure I hope with two dances combined. We are going to

give it our best shot. We would love to make it to the final.

Yes. Having gone through a bit of training now, do you realise how

difficult is it for our contestants? Absolutely. I don't

know what they're going to do this week with two dances as well. It's

going to be a lot of hard work. much of the other three looking

forward to seeing him strut his stuff. Cannot wait. We can't wait.

It will be the highlight of the year. If his shirt looks like this

are doing two dances. Lisa and Robin are doing an American smooth.

When you're looking at this, how is Lisa doing with this? I've been

impressed with her this whole series. She's pretty incredible.

She is. Here, I think she's going to give it the romantic kind of

jazz. Romantic jazz. That sounds like a musical genre. JB, this

dance is supposed to be a show stopper. You can do three lifts.

But they're not doing lifts. Do you think Lisa can still give us the

wow factor? Absolutely. I think obviously without the lifts, people

look forward to that, but in terms of the judges and the assessment

after the dance, I think if they can get good marks, it will be

proof of their quality of dance. You're good. He's got into it all.

Denise and James are doing a tango. They were bottom two last week. Do

you that I that looking at this they can avoid the bottom two this

week? Definitely. I think you know, as on long as they stay close

together as a couple and move in harmony, I think the vibe is

essential. They'll do all right. They'll be good. That sounded

impressive as well. I'm impressed with your skills. They're dancing

to The Police and Roxanne. Do you reckon, is this like you hear this

and think tango, yes please? Erm, for me first time hearing it you

know, I wouldn't picture the tango straight away, but for these two,

if they can pull it out of the bag, they have done all series. I can't

believe, it was bottom two last week. Louis and Flavia are doing a

foxtrot to this song: You're mates with loose wis, haven't you watched

him -- with Louis, haven't you watched him train this week? I have.

He's looking very good. Are you impressed with his skills? I really

have. For someone I've known from yay big and obviously being a

gymnast he's done a lot of street dancing, then to cancel that out

and go into ballroom is amazing. think I know who you'll be voting

for. Marvin, the last man standing in the competition, can he stop it

being an all-girl final. I think so. He's bringing the element that the

ladies will vote for Louis. We tip Louis for the final definitely.

Dancey and Vincent - it's a good look, a strong look. Dani and

Vincent and the Argentine tango. Let's look at this. I mean, this is

his speciality. These two have never been the top of the

leaderboard. Can they get to the top this week? Absolutely. They had

a good week last week. They had two tens. I'm definitely think they can

get another two or at least another one and be top of the board. Let's

hear their music. This is traditional Argentine tango. I

don't know why I'm doing that at you, sorry. Is this going to work

for you? Well, if it's like that, it will definitely work for me.

dear. I'm having a great time today. Kimberly and Pasha are doing an

American smooth. They're dancing to Peggy Lee. Top scorers last week,

full house, four tens. Has this got a wow factor? Absolutely. I think

the right song. The two of them have got great chemistry and

they've had an excellent week as well. I think so. You must know

Kimberly. Are you fans of Girls Aloud? Huge fans. She's adorable as

well. Aston, it's quite sultry music, does it suit this dance?

Definitely. I think now you will really see the sexy side of

Kimberly come out. She's one sexy lady. Lisa and Robin are doing a

salsa. We're getting through them. As we know, they are dancing salsa,

this is a track you might not know. It was a hit in the 80s. Before you

were all born. It's Modern Romance. Makes me want to dance. Do you know

this? No! It's a great song. Lisa has bags of personality can she

pull this party dance out of the bag? You know what, like I said,

Lisa throws herself into everything. We've seen her do jump splits and

literally moving her feet like James Browne. I don't think

anything will stop her now. will love that. They're the only

couple left who haven't hay ten. Do you think this could be their

weekend? Definitely. Watching that back. I can't believe they have to

learn two routines. That must be so difficult. You have to learn loads

of ruef teens, two in a week, no? Yeah, but this is stuff they've

never done before. We stick to the same style. To change style every

week is crazy. Yeah, you know, it would be great for them to have a

ten this week. Denise and James will do a rumba. It's the dance -

I'm doing it again - stop doing that. Really enjoying that. It's a

very romantic dance. They're dancing to this. Leona Lewis, The

First Time Ever I Saw Your Face. The concentration is just amazing.

They have a great chance with this one. She has been brilliant. Rough

feeling the love from this performance. Absolutely. We were in

the bottom two when we did X Factor and the following week was our

biggest week. This is a good point. Denise, if you're watching, take

hope from that. Louis and Flavia doing a jive. This is a classic

from the 60s Why Do Fools Fall In Love?.

It's a tough dance. Can Louis pull it off? Definitely. Louis is used

to all types of pressure. For him, I think he takes it in his stride

and gets on with it. He's fantastic, amazing. I'm not sure why he's

wearing strange leather gloves there. I'm sure all will become

clear. Dani and Vincent with an American smooth. Does this get you

excited? They're dancing to a bit of Buble. Definitely. With American

smooth because it is so different to British ballroom there's less

restrictions on what they can actually do. You've done your home

work. Loving you! I'm a dance judge myself, so I have to know these

things. Of course you are. Kimberly and Pasha doing a charleston. Do

you think she can let go of her inhibitions here? Look at Kimberly.

She's great. It's such a fun dance. Kimberly is a great girl. I think

she's going to do, fingers crossed, she gets another full house.

APPLAUSE Next I'm on the Strictly set. First,

with the big final looming, this is how much our couples want to stay

in the competition. I've never experienced anything like Strictly

before in my life. So to get to the final, oh, that would be amazeling.

-- amazing. I've been in the final before and I was so close to get to

the trophy. But this year I've got the right ammunition, my little

Dani. And not to be there, it would be really sad. Everything I've done

in this competition has been for my dance partner. The final is just a

reach away. It would just be the perfect ending to what has been the

most fantastic experience on Strictly. My father always said to

me, whatever you put into something you will get out of it. Denise has

put everything into Strictly. all so close in the competition and

it's been amazing to watch everyone grow over the weeks. So to go home

at this point would be disappointing. I think slowly, over

the weeks of the competition, Kimberly got addicted to Strictly

Come Dancing. Getting to the final was the main goal and I really,

really hope to get Kimberly there. I wasn't competitive at all when I

started. But now as we're getting near the end, you sit back and

think, could I? Could I do it? I've started to think, maybe I could.

the beginning of the series, Lisa and I did not expect to get this

far. All of a sudden, we're one week from the final and it's, we're

on cloud nine. To get to the final, it would mean so much. There would

be a mixture of emotions if I left. To come so close, but yet so far

would be devastating. But I'd have to leave feeling proud of myself.

To end the year after the amazing year he's already had, holding the

Glitterball would be the cherry on the cake for him.
