Episode 31 Strictly - It Takes Two

Saturday? We had a call early in the morning. I felt very weak all week.

I think it was comugs. I collapsed. In dress rehearsal I

realised I was not fit to dance. Unfortunately, I collapsed again. I

have been to the hospital and Unfortunately, I collapsed again. I

have been given? Lots of sleep in the last 48 hours, which I have

done. I am back on my feet. I am feeling much better. Thanks to

everybody for their support. Will you be able to join the others in

back horrible memories of nerves and fear. No-one wants to be the one

today? It is odd. Monday - we've had that pattern for weeks now, where

Karen Rehearses in the morning. Monday afternoon we get together. We

try and get the map of the dance. Instead, I watched the telly! It was

your first dance-off though, Dave! How confident did you feel about

surviving going into that? It was really odd being with Mark. It was

so funny because I know him so well and he's there with his bald head, I

am in tartan, with two of the most beautiful women on the planet. We

thought, whatever happens, it is a moment to savour. It is so true! It

was so tough to go up against your friend. It must have felt important

to you that Len said he would save you. It was magnificent. All the

judges were great. Having Len on our side really meant

a lot to us. The other great

happy with it and angry with myself. Whatever happened I really, really

enjoyed that. I watched the results show last night. I just thought,

yes! That is what Strictly is about. I was doing my best. I was having a

ball and, you know, it was all there. It was a dance, you know!

Bruno's comments. You put in all those hours - was it tough to take

harsh criticism? It was when you think you've done a good job. I knew

myself, my salsa, when it was out of time - it was fine in my head, but

the band were in a different place to where I was! I can take that. You

think, yeah, fair enough! Actually, with Bruno I did feel that I did the

best I could. That's why I chipped back. It was not all bad though.

The professional who will be whisking you around the dance floor

is... Karen. It was like live at -- love at first

sight. He's not afraid to be himself. That makes him amazing.

Wiggly-woo! I never thought I would immense myself in the

Wiggly-woo! I never thought I would is my posture. Now, dance and enjoy

yourself! You are just fun to watch. Paso

That was my finest hour! Dancing the waltz, something it is a

mixture of confusion. Where is your frame? I am not a dog. You are a

dog. You are a pedigree! Come on! You scrub up very well. Almost

unrecognisable. You scrub up very well. Almost

salsa. I have got my hips moving, but my shoulders are a mystery. My

shoulders won't do it! Strictly Come Dancing - crackers

with ma rack kers. You should have considered remaining on the fruit

troll Ily! -- on the fruit trolley. Karen means the world to me. I could

not envisage being a partner with anybody else. I love Dave! He's my

buddy. These legs are old. They're not going to stop! Dave the trier -

that's where I want to see you - come out and try. You did a

fantastic job. Could have done better!

I never dreamt I would get so far in this competition. Being on Strictly,

it is like being invited to the best party in the world.

What has been the thing you have enjoyed most about this experience,

Dave? I think being part of the Strictly family. It sound trite, but

it is there. I do love Strictly sismt the most honest, the biggest

First, another of our difficult Guess Who puzzlers. Have a tissue!

loved it. For the first time I was off my... I am back to normal.

Everyone was like he's being harsh tonight. Very sad Natalie couldn't

perform. Did you miss her? That was a shocker. I noticed in your news

moment there that she was using my wheelchair. That was in my dressing

room. I said where is my wheelchair. They said, Natalie has fainted and

it is just as well that I have all that stuff in my room. Let's talk

about the American smooth - it was so brilliant. That tiny miss with

the slip. Darcey gave them a ten. Would it have been a ten if they had

not had that moment? No. Obviously there was a slip-up at the end. The

frock there was a slip-up at the end. The

especially in those Fred Astaire drags. That is why it would never

get a ten, unless he worked specifically on those moments. He is

terrific. It was an amazing dance routine. You said he is the best

male. Definitely! He stands out a mile. Impressive. Abbey and Aljaz

and their charleston. She got 36 as the same as Sophie's legendry

charleston. Has she pipped her to the position for your favourite

charleston of the series? No. I think Sophie's is better. It had

more quirk in it. There was more danger in it. If you are going to

compare them. The charleston is a very individual thing. It is very

much based on the individual personality of the person that they

bring to the dance routine. And it has got to be quirky. It has got to

be knock-kneed has got to be quirky. It has got to

weigh these things up, you see, Zoe! Anna and Kevin and their -- an ya

and Kevin and their waltz. You said she brought the frock to life. This

moment made my eyes go leaky. I loved it because of her personality.

What you tend to do with Susanna is not look at the feet. You want to

look at thevy bransy of her smile -- the vibrncy of her smile. A lot of

the dance is in the face. If you can detract the audience from any

technical issues and you are beaming the delightful smile, it will get

you further in the competition. Everywhere? Absolutely. Ashley and

Ola, nine from the other judges. You give Ashley an eight. What more do

you want from him to push the scores up for you?

short with his dancing. I know, I am being really fussy... You have to be

because they are all very good. There are some who aren't, naturally

and there are some who are amazing. Ashley and Patrick are really sort

of going head-to-head. If he wants to beat Patrick in any way, shape or

form, he needs to up his game. Sophie and bren Dan and their ar

again -- Brendan and their Argentine tango. She is an odd one, she suits

some dances but not other ones. Like the charleston, she suited this. The

freer dancers she seems to suit. When she's doing the normal Latin

and ballroom dances, I think with all that massive amount of technique

that is where she tends to fail a little bit. So, I think if she works

really hard on that, and comes through with

really hard on that, and comes the jive. You gave Ben the lowest

score - what more did you want from this? Lighter, more extension in

everything. I don't know, he's got the smile going. It wasn't good.

Everyone raved about it. I thought, well, actually no. He looks really

cute in tight, white trousers. Isn't that lovely! He's got a nice beaming

smile. He's got all that... Delicious.... I thought, actually if

you strip that out and put him in just a pair of rehearsal trousers or

anything, actually if you took it away it would not be right. You

would be talking about a very different dance. So, I was very

I was in Strictly, 2008 and went out in week six.

It's me Mark Foster. I knew it! Thank you very much. So, Saturday

saw Anton and Fiona tackle the paso doble which scored a big ola!

Here is a reminder. Fiona, I like your dark side. When go dark and

cranky with the skirt. I loved the energy and the attack. It was a

little different different, a little bit vanilla. It was adequate, butvy

to say, forgettable. There was plenty of wafting going on, which I

enjoyed. I did it everything!

Congratulations! Highest score for your Latin. Great praise from most

of the judges. You must have been really chuffed. I was really, really

pleased. We felt it went really, really well. I gave it a lot of

welly. I enjoyed it. You looked like you were enjoying it. A bit was made

we did a couple of moves towards each other. I do nont what you are
