You have been eliminated. Yes, I also come up to Blackpool. Did you

:04:02.:04:10.

come alone? No, with Al-Yash. Who else? Susannah, Brendan. Loads of us

:04:11.:04:14.

were on the train. We had a great time. Pretty much all the friends?

:04:15.:04:18.

Yes, everybody in the competition? Yes, a lot of people still in the

:04:19.:04:22.

competition. We don't let people who aren't in the competition sit with

:04:23.:04:27.

us. We are definite definitely, we had a good time. Thank you. See you

:04:28.:04:31.

later. Poor James. We'll see James later

:04:32.:04:36.

on. Time for the first part of the Friday panel. Please welcome Jodie

:04:37.:04:45.

Prenger, Jason Donovan and Ana Matronic. Give us a shimmy. Welcome,

:04:46.:04:56.

you beautiful threesome. Jase, welcome back, we have missed

:04:57.:05:03.

you in the glitter dome, former Strictly finalist. You have been to

:05:04.:05:06.

Blackpool. How will the dancers be feeling right now? It's quite the

:05:07.:05:10.

intimidating. We were at a different stage in the competition because it

:05:11.:05:14.

was part of the final, but I think everyone is getting to know their

:05:15.:05:18.

partners. I think there is a lot of tension. I think the stakes are

:05:19.:05:28.

getting hotter and higher. It's a big stage. Ten times the other

:05:29.:05:39.

studio. You know all about the importance of chemistry. Which

:05:40.:05:45.

couple has the most of it? All the cupels have it. -- couples have it.

:05:46.:05:51.

There is no way you can spend all the time together and no have a

:05:52.:05:55.

rapport. I'm impressed with Abbey and Al-Yash. Abbey looks like a

:05:56.:05:59.

proper professional dancer. It's exciting. Yes. Jodie, who have been

:06:00.:06:06.

your favourites so far? Abbey's kind of grown every single week and she's

:06:07.:06:11.

beautiful. Al-Yash! I always get his name wrong, but he's brilliant. I've

:06:12.:06:17.

really enjoyed him. Very handsome as well. Sophie and Brendan are going

:06:18.:06:21.

to do a quickstep in Blackpool. A lot of floor to cover. Jason, do you

:06:22.:06:26.

think Sophie can impress with this? You know what is what. How did she

:06:27.:06:32.

look? I was disappointed with her last weekend. The Argentine tango?

:06:33.:06:38.

Yes, she hits and misses sometimes and I think it's got a lot to do

:06:39.:06:44.

with her size. I also think Brendan is quite forward with his leading

:06:45.:06:48.

that you tend to focus on him a little bit and sometimes not her. He

:06:49.:06:55.

needs to stand back? Yes, he needs to let her shine a bit because he's

:06:56.:07:01.

so busy with his stuff and he's like, yeah, come on. Do you know

:07:02.:07:05.

what I mean, the like he needs to chill out. Dancing to the Lady Is A

:07:06.:07:14.

Tramp. Classy. So good. Tradition. I like it. Susannah and Kevin are

:07:15.:07:19.

doing the Paso Doble. It's all about fire and passion. Do you think that

:07:20.:07:24.

she can put in a convincing performance from what you have seen

:07:25.:07:29.

so far? She seems overwhelmed in a great way because this is something

:07:30.:07:34.

so sqlout side her comfort zone and she's really competent at this

:07:35.:07:42.

competition. -- so outside her comfort zone. I think she'll do

:07:43.:07:47.

well. The beautiful waltz and beautiful dress last week were

:07:48.:07:50.

great. What about that couple? Do you think they'll impress? They are

:07:51.:07:54.

sufficient lovely people. I'm finding it hard seeing that passion

:07:55.:07:59.

between them. I don't know actually. I'm hoping they will do well, but I

:08:00.:08:04.

don't know. This will be the music, surely it

:08:05.:08:09.

will help. Do you remember your paso? I do. And I forgot it just as

:08:10.:08:15.

quickly, actually. It wasn't my greatest moment. I think she's got

:08:16.:08:18.

to concentrate on the character because she comes across as herself

:08:19.:08:22.

all the time, which is happy, Smiley and this is a very different

:08:23.:08:27.

experience. A strong strong dance. Yes. Mark and itch Iveta, how are

:08:28.:08:39.

they going to do this week? Mark is going to take the judges' comments

:08:40.:08:45.

to heart. He's got a fantastic partner. They have a great rapport

:08:46.:08:49.

and that comes through in the dancing. If he can pull it off with

:08:50.:08:55.

two bad knees, he could do well. He's got really bad knees. He's done

:08:56.:09:00.

amazing. They have this tune from Hairspray.

:09:01.:09:05.

# You can't stop the beat... # It's amazing. Is this going to help

:09:06.:09:11.

him, Jodie, because he's been in Hairspray? It's a phenomenal song.

:09:12.:09:16.

He's my guilty pleasure, I love watching his face and everything so

:09:17.:09:19.

I think he'll do really well in Blackpool. Come on, Mark! Natalie

:09:20.:09:23.

and Artem missed last week but they are back this week with the

:09:24.:09:26.

charleston. Here they are in training. Jason, this dance is just

:09:27.:09:31.

as much about expression Aztec knee? It's so hard to fault her. I try

:09:32.:09:38.

hard, but you know, she works so well with Artem and he's such a

:09:39.:09:44.

strong dancer himself. It's hard to see them not being top of the

:09:45.:09:48.

leaderboard. I also think what happened to her last week will help

:09:49.:09:53.

the situation as well. She's going to come back in. She's dancing to

:09:54.:10:00.

Will I A from the Great Gatsby. Great choice. Yes and a little bit

:10:01.:10:06.

of thinking outside the box for the charleston. You say associationiate

:10:07.:10:12.

it with the '20s. How can she concentrate with a scarf on her

:10:13.:10:16.

head? ! A lot of acting in the charleston. Is that going to help

:10:17.:10:21.

her? I'm sure she's danced many a time in the Rovers to that. She's

:10:22.:10:25.

brilliant. Very, very strong. I hope not being their last week is not

:10:26.:10:29.

going to stop the voters voting for her. That's the one thing I'm

:10:30.:10:33.

worried about. We'll see. For now, Fiona and Anton are doing an

:10:34.:10:37.

American smooth. How do you think they are looking? Jason, you know

:10:38.:10:45.

Anton very well. How is he doing? I think she looks great in hold. She's

:10:46.:10:50.

going to do well this week I think. Her arms and the length, the

:10:51.:10:58.

stretches, you know, the lines, I've lost the terminology! It's in there

:10:59.:11:05.

somewhere. Dancing to Frank Sinatra. Surely it's a win-win situation.

:11:06.:11:18.

Many in the ballroom in Blackpool! He performed there once, Frank

:11:19.:11:22.

Sinatra. All the greats have performed there. We'll get the

:11:23.:11:26.

trolley out and brink a drink and talk to the panel again later. Ana,

:11:27.:11:31.

Jason and Jodie. Frank Sinatra in Blackpool, really? ! James Jr. Sudan

:11:32.:11:37.

is back to see what -- James Jordan is back to show us what mischief he

:11:38.:11:41.

created in the tower. This next person I'm going to speak

:11:42.:11:46.

to I haven't seen nearly enough of in the past few weeks and it's

:11:47.:11:59.

breaking my heart. It's Ashley and Ola! We are in Blackpool, the Mecca

:12:00.:12:05.

of dance. How does it feel? It's amazing.

:12:06.:12:10.

Salute incredible. I saw the ballroom, walked in there and was

:12:11.:12:16.

like wow -- salute incredible -- absolutely incredible. We haven't

:12:17.:12:20.

danced in it yet so it's going to be incredible. Have you spaced it out

:12:21.:12:24.

correctly do you think or are you waiting to see when you go there?

:12:25.:12:29.

I'm going to pray we'll be OK. I leave that in your capable hands.

:12:30.:12:34.

You are dancing the paso doble. How has it been going? Good. Monday

:12:35.:12:39.

Tuesday I was worried because I don't think Ashley's dance was there

:12:40.:12:47.

yet. Wednesday Thursday he turned it around and I was very pleased. When

:12:48.:12:52.

I started this week, I thought after doing a few dances I knew the moves

:12:53.:12:56.

and the posture got it right. Then I started and it was a new Langs wadge

:12:57.:13:02.

completely and I didn't have a clue. It really scared me, to be fair. The

:13:03.:13:07.

Paso Doble is different to all the other Latin dances. Posture and

:13:08.:13:14.

everything. It's aggressive and Ola said to me last week, Ashley's such

:13:15.:13:19.

a nice guy, I think he's going to struggle with the position do

:13:20.:13:23.

believe lay. Do you think -- paso doble. Do you think being an actor

:13:24.:13:29.

can help you? He smile all the time. She's like "be serious! " And I am

:13:30.:13:36.

like "I am! " But in the night I get in character. I enjoy that about

:13:37.:13:40.

this dance. It's so strong and passionate. I can't do that a lot of

:13:41.:13:43.

the time, only when I really have to. Does he look masculine? Yes. I

:13:44.:13:54.

heard you have got a cowboy theme to this? Yes. It's a cowboy theme in a

:13:55.:14:00.

saloon. I don't want to say too much about it. It's going to be a big

:14:01.:14:07.

surprise but Ashley is a bad cowboy. Last week, you danced the quickstep.

:14:08.:14:11.

You got 35 points from the judges, your highest so far. Do you think

:14:12.:14:15.

you can top that? I don't know. I hope we can top

:14:16.:14:20.

that. We are going to do everything possible to top it. I'm really

:14:21.:14:26.

worried that I might go backwards now, that's the thing with getting a

:14:27.:14:30.

high score. We got 31 three weeks in a row, then 33, 35, so it makes

:14:31.:14:35.

sense really to get maybe 37 this yike? Maybe, yes. 37. That would be

:14:36.:14:41.

good. If you can bank 37 now, bank it, that's what I say. I want to go

:14:42.:14:46.

up! 36 will do. When you are involved in the show, I understand

:14:47.:14:51.

each week you want to improve, but that's not necessarily always shown

:14:52.:14:54.

by the scores because you might not suit that dance as much as you

:14:55.:14:58.

suited the quick step. I haven't seen it yet, I'm excited to see your

:14:59.:15:03.

dance. I'm excited for you to see it. I wish you all the best. How

:15:04.:15:07.

mentally are you going to prepare for tomorrow night now? I think we

:15:08.:15:11.

are prepared mentally. We are ready to go. Yes, we can do it!

:15:12.:15:17.

We can do it! We are mentally prepared, yes! Good luck. I can't

:15:18.:15:23.

call you Quasimodo any more because you have fixed fixedture posture.

:15:24.:15:30.

I'll think of a new name for you. Good luck -- you have fixed your

:15:31.:15:35.

posture. Get a room, Jordan. He's a bit good!

:15:36.:15:41.

I might take the week off next week. James managed to check in with ah

:15:42.:15:44.

tome see how his neck was holding up.

:15:45.:15:51.

Artem, we are in Blackpool, the Tower Ballroom. You made it, I

:15:52.:15:58.

didn't. How is your neck? It's OK. OK or is it... ? No, it's OK, but

:15:59.:16:03.

apparently I'm the curse of Blackpool. Every time I dance in

:16:04.:16:09.

Blackpool my neck is injured. Let me do the test. Stay there. Artem. It's

:16:10.:16:16.

still not great though is it? Let's be honest? ! You're dancing a

:16:17.:16:22.

charleston? Yes. Which is pretty full on. Actually it's the first

:16:23.:16:26.

time the charleston ever been done in Blackpool. Really? Yes. That's

:16:27.:16:33.

quite amazing isn't it? Yes. You are going to be in the Strictly history

:16:34.:16:39.

booked? Dwre, pretty much. I think I was the first person to dance the

:16:40.:16:44.

charleston? Wembley. Just saying! I got three 10s and one 9, no

:16:45.:16:48.

pressure. Anyway, moving on, it's not about me, it's about you. I'm

:16:49.:16:52.

slightly concerned that when you dance the charleston, you are going

:16:53.:16:57.

to be like this, "it's fine, it's fine", then if anything has to move

:16:58.:17:01.

to the side, are we going to be turning like this? Can you just do

:17:02.:17:07.

that for me and delay the head? Yes. Go on then. Hold on, which way do I

:17:08.:17:15.

go - this way. Amazing! Listen, I hope you get a speedy recovery by

:17:16.:17:19.

tomorrow because we need you on top form. Good luck. Thank you.

:17:20.:17:25.

Thank you. It will be OK. He's Russian, he's tough!

:17:26.:17:32.

Thanks, shippy Jimmy. Vicky Gill and her team have understandably gone

:17:33.:17:38.

into overdrive. All right, Jase? Thanks. She couldn't be with us in

:17:39.:17:41.

the studio, but luckily, James was able to catch up with her earlier on

:17:42.:17:47.

in Blackpool. Put another shrimp on the barbie.

:17:48.:17:51.

Promise you won't tell anyone if I try it on? Somebody will find out if

:17:52.:17:57.

you try it on. Oh, hi, Zoe, I'm here with my most favourite person in the

:17:58.:18:03.

world, Vicky Gill. What have you made for me this week? That is the

:18:04.:18:06.

most important question? Nothing, you are out. Go on. You are not in

:18:07.:18:10.

any more. OK. Have you got anything nice to show me because it's

:18:11.:18:15.

Blackpool week? Yes, but not yours. Whose is this one because I like

:18:16.:18:20.

that one? This is Anya's. They are doing a Samba, a Copacabana number

:18:21.:18:25.

so it's really show time, feathers, lots of gold. The skirt's not been

:18:26.:18:30.

trimmed because we haven't had anyone in forfeitings yet. It will

:18:31.:18:32.

be slightly different by tomorrow. Might be a bit shorter? Yes. Not a

:18:33.:18:38.

lot of it already. I know. I like the back. It's nice. Very

:18:39.:18:48.

Samba-like. Very nice. And this one? This one, for me, I don't know

:18:49.:18:53.

anything about dress-making, but I can see that every one of these has

:18:54.:18:57.

been sown on individually. They have. Who is the poor person that

:18:58.:19:01.

has to do that the? Not many personally. I help out when needed.

:19:02.:19:08.

A lovely man named Ash is the chief embellishment officer. He works very

:19:09.:19:13.

hardlet, they have been put on individually. The beads have been

:19:14.:19:18.

sown on the strips at the bottom, very time-consuming. So I can't even

:19:19.:19:24.

sew a button on. This is going to pop tomorrow night once we are in

:19:25.:19:28.

show time. This also caught my eye. If I was, for example, to be into

:19:29.:19:32.

dresses, this would make my eyes pop because it's blue. This is for one

:19:33.:19:39.

of the ballrooms? Yes, all pros and celebs have the same shape and

:19:40.:19:43.

silhouette. As you can see, if you look behind you... That's nice as

:19:44.:19:49.

well. Everybody is going to have a net sticky-out skirt. So pro-girls

:19:50.:19:53.

and celebrity girls wearing something similar to this? Yes.

:19:54.:19:57.

That's cool. That will be an exciting number because there are

:19:58.:20:01.

lots of things going on. Yes, there is. But not you. We have moved on

:20:02.:20:06.

from there! This week in particular being Blackpool, have you found it

:20:07.:20:10.

more stressful? Tiring, not necessarily more stressful.

:20:11.:20:16.

Stressed? Never. Only with you, of course. What is this? It's pick on

:20:17.:20:21.

James day! Out of all these, think very quickly, which is your

:20:22.:20:26.

favourite one? I think my favourite one is just because it's quite

:20:27.:20:30.

simple and I think that will be Sophie's. What dance is she doing?

:20:31.:20:36.

The quickstep. Brendan would be very happy with

:20:37.:20:40.

that. She's going to look gorgeous in that. I think so. Zoe, from us

:20:41.:20:44.

back to you! Bye!

:20:45.:20:49.

Love those two. Oi, say nothing. Last week, we sent Jeanette up north

:20:50.:20:53.

to find out what makes the Blackpool Tower so special. Really, I thought

:20:54.:20:57.

I paid my dues. I've come to the hottest seaside in

:20:58.:21:02.

the whole of the UK. It's just a little bit different from what I'm

:21:03.:21:09.

used to back home in Miami, but hey, this is Blackpool!

:21:10.:21:16.

This year for the sixth time, the dancers will be performing in one of

:21:17.:21:20.

the oldest, most historic ballrooms of all-time, the Tower Ballroom.

:21:21.:21:24.

This isn't just any ballroom. Oh, no, this has tonnes to talk about.

:21:25.:21:33.

The Tower Ballroom opened to the public in 1899 as a place for ladies

:21:34.:21:42.

and gents to socialise. This dance space would have been

:21:43.:21:47.

packed full of cupels waltzing and foxtrotting the night away --

:21:48.:21:57.

couples. Gentlemen could not dance without a lady and disorderly

:21:58.:22:02.

conduct meant immediate expulsion. Better not let James in. Over 30,000

:22:03.:22:11.

individual blocks of mahogany, oak and walnut would make up this

:22:12.:22:17.

incredible 120 foot dance floor. In 1959, the entire dance floor was

:22:18.:22:22.

destroyed in a fire and it took two years and ?500,000 to bring the

:22:23.:22:27.

damage back to its original state. We all love Strictly for its

:22:28.:22:31.

sparkle, but this place was dazzling its guests way before glitter was

:22:32.:22:35.

invented. These 14 beautiful chandeliers have over 80 bulbs each

:22:36.:22:39.

and once a year, they are lowered to the ground and the lights are

:22:40.:22:44.

inspected and cleaned by hand. Every inch of this ballroom is a

:22:45.:22:52.

work of art. There is even even an inscription by William Shakespeare

:22:53.:22:57.

meaning "let me speak and I'll tell you something interesting". I'm

:22:58.:22:59.

listening! With over 100 years of history, the

:23:00.:23:11.

Tower Ballroom still proves to be just as popular today as it was in

:23:12.:23:16.

1899. Every day, the ballroom opens its doors for a tea dance, whether

:23:17.:23:20.

it's a waltz or a cup of tea and a slice of cake, these people come and

:23:21.:23:23.

experience the charm of this fantastic dance space.

:23:24.:23:30.

Hi. Would you like to dance? Of course. Thank you.

:23:31.:23:34.

Blackpool is always a highlight in the Strictly calendar, so when you

:23:35.:23:37.

are sat at home on Saturday night, take a minute to appreciate the

:23:38.:23:41.

beauty of the Tower Ballroom and all of the history it holds. With 100

:23:42.:23:46.

years of ballroom under one roof, here is so many, many more. Keep

:23:47.:23:55.

dancing. Thank you Jeanette. My nan and

:23:56.:24:02.

grandad used to dance there, Jodie used to say. We are getting

:24:03.:24:08.

emotional. Let 's talk to our panel again, Ana Matronic, Jason Donovan

:24:09.:24:18.

sand Jodie Prenger. Let's talk about these two. Do you

:24:19.:24:24.

think he can snatch back the male crown? He's a good actor. He's so

:24:25.:24:31.

strong, his face is so serious. You like that? Who's the man. I think he

:24:32.:24:38.

can do well. One thing to remember with a paso doble, if you remember,

:24:39.:24:42.

Jason? Well, it wasn't my greatest moment, in fact it was my lowest

:24:43.:24:47.

score but there needs to be a lot of strength and you need to be very

:24:48.:24:53.

harp. -- sharp. He's overworked at the moment and Ola's probably put

:24:54.:24:57.

this dance at a poignant place to get it out of the way, you know. So

:24:58.:25:02.

he can move on? Yes. Dancing to Bon Jovi.

:25:03.:25:04.

# Shot through the heart # And you are to blame

:25:05.:25:10.

# You give love a bad name... # How do you think that will go down

:25:11.:25:12.

in Blackpool What will the crowd make of it there, Ana? Strictly Come

:25:13.:25:18.

Dancing is a little different than a Scissor Sisters crowd but you never

:25:19.:25:22.

know and it's sometimes the most unexpected choices can be the best

:25:23.:25:28.

because it just defies logic and really throws people through a loop

:25:29.:25:31.

so they really look at the dancing and how they interpret it. Fingers

:25:32.:25:37.

crossed. Ben and Kristina are doing an American smooth. Let us look

:25:38.:25:42.

back. Hey, Jason you got 37 for your American smooth with Kristina. It's

:25:43.:25:47.

all about the lifts. Can Ben lift her? He's progressed a lot and she's

:25:48.:25:53.

such a great choreographer. You know, I think this is going to be

:25:54.:25:57.

very interesting for these two. They are going to play very much to the

:25:58.:26:02.

whole lifting. We'll see, you know. It's a tough one when you have

:26:03.:26:07.

someone like Patrick in the mould doing the Samba which we'll talk

:26:08.:26:11.

about. Yes. This is what they are dancing to. A bit of Alisha Keys.

:26:12.:26:18.

The Viennese waltz in there. # I keep falling in and out of love

:26:19.:26:22.

with you... # Craig said last week, because he's

:26:23.:26:25.

so built, he'll find it hard doing the elegant arms and stuff like

:26:26.:26:29.

that. Easy hope he does, he's an athlete and fingers crossed. Patrick

:26:30.:26:35.

and Anya and their Samba. They are dance dancing to Barry Manilow. We

:26:36.:26:45.

are all Fanilows here. These are on the way up, you know. I think it's

:26:46.:26:50.

about character and personality and he's been in the background. He

:26:51.:26:55.

hasn't scored as well as we thought and all of a sudden he's scored

:26:56.:26:59.

well, they have chosen a great dance this week and I think he's going to

:27:00.:27:10.

shine. I think that is twirking. I don't know what that is? . It's

:27:11.:27:17.

shaking the bum and the hips. I was really impressed by his performance

:27:18.:27:20.

last week. He was leading her and she's the celebrity and not the

:27:21.:27:24.

professional and he absolutely looked like he was leading that

:27:25.:27:29.

dance. He's got the command. "Command" I like that. These two are

:27:30.:27:39.

best friends. Abbey and Al-Yash are doing a quick step. Will they do

:27:40.:27:45.

well this week? I think she's obviously, you know, doing extremely

:27:46.:27:49.

well. I think she moves well. I think the partnership there is good.

:27:50.:27:53.

I would like her to concentrate on the dancing sometimes than looking

:27:54.:27:57.

at the hair and all the other things that are going on. She's a little

:27:58.:28:02.

girl. I like that as well, it's part of her charm but it's about your

:28:03.:28:06.

personality as well. They are dancing to this.

:28:07.:28:11.

# I'm walking on sunshine... # Everybody will be bopping with this

:28:12.:28:16.

one. I think there is a great connection with them so that song

:28:17.:28:21.

will be going well in Blackpool. Who would you like to see lift the

:28:22.:28:26.

glitterball Torode any, Ana, one name. Come on? I'll go for the dark

:28:27.:28:31.

horse and say Ben because he's my buddy. Jason? I would like to say

:28:32.:28:39.

Ben but Patrick. Jodie? Abbey. Thank you so much, Jason, Ana and Jodie.

:28:40.:28:44.

Thank you to my guests and to James and to Janet, don't forget to tune

:28:45.:28:48.

in tomorrow, 6. 6.30, BBC One, Strictly Come Dancing from

:28:49.:28:51.

Blackpool. I'm back on Monday, I'll be joined by the next couple to

:28:52.:28:58.

leave and I'll see you later on when I join Terry for Children In Need.
