Tonight on It Takes Two, I'm joined by Jay and Aliona.

:00:00.:00:08.

And we're saying goodbye to Peter and Janette.

:00:09.:00:20.

Live from London, this is Strictly - It Takes Two, please welcome your

:00:21.:01:21.

host, Wasn't it a brilliant show

:01:22.:01:26.

at the weekend? The ten paddle made

:01:27.:01:31.

a few appearances. That Quickstepathon was, well,

:01:32.:01:33.

quick. And,

:01:34.:01:35.

I don't know about you, but I was enjoying Craig's new facial

:01:36.:01:37.

hair. Right, on tonight's show, we'll

:01:38.:01:42.

be talking to Jay and Aliona. I am still recovering from the flash

:01:43.:01:51.

of chest. And Karen Clifton will be here

:01:52.:01:54.

as she goes under the Strictly But first,

:01:55.:01:57.

it's time to bid farewell to Peter and Janette, after they foxtroted

:01:58.:02:01.

their way out of the competition. # Don't you forget about me as you

:02:02.:02:03.

walk on by. # There were about 50

:02:04.:02:35.

of these left over from your routine, and we didn't want

:02:36.:02:43.

them to go to waste, so, tuck in. They are two days old, they will be

:02:44.:02:57.

stale. You have been so brilliant in the

:02:58.:02:59.

competition. Surprisingly, I feel fantastic. You

:03:00.:03:10.

can even see how much I was smiling. It has been an incredible journey.

:03:11.:03:15.

In the end, I said, it has been nothing but joy and I meant it.

:03:16.:03:20.

You have brought us nothing but joy, and a lot of puns! I have one

:03:21.:03:24.

for you later. What did your kids say

:03:25.:03:25.

when they realised you were out I am seeing them tomorrow and I know

:03:26.:03:35.

they will be so happy that they got to see dad doing so many different

:03:36.:03:39.

things. They will probably give me grief, probably.

:03:40.:03:44.

And you will get your revenge when they are teenagers.

:03:45.:03:44.

At this point in the competition, the dancers left are

:03:45.:03:47.

So, does everyone have the fear that it could be them leaving?

:03:48.:03:53.

There was a very quiet calm eerie feeling in the hallways this last

:03:54.:04:01.

weekend, because everyone is so focused and determined to do well.

:04:02.:04:06.

It is such a tight competition. Every single competitor could

:04:07.:04:10.

It is such a tight competition. win. Yes, I think it is the closest

:04:11.:04:13.

one ever. I think you are right.

:04:14.:04:18.

The dance, the music... You were at the bottom

:04:19.:04:23.

of the judges' leader board How disappointed were you to also

:04:24.:04:27.

come last in the Quickstepathon? Were you hoping you could

:04:28.:04:31.

make up some points? I didn't think it was quick but

:04:32.:04:39.

slow! Look, you have got to understand when it is your time, you

:04:40.:04:43.

had to bow out gracefully and it was my time. Three times top of the

:04:44.:04:50.

Leader Board, twice at the bottom. Which, for me is a winner.

:04:51.:04:56.

I am happy. More at the top than at the bottom.

:04:57.:04:57.

When you knew it was you two against Kellie and Kevin in the dance-off,

:04:58.:05:00.

With the dance-off, you never know. I said to Peter, we need to have a

:05:01.:05:13.

blast, it might be the last one. Kevin is one of my best friends. To

:05:14.:05:19.

be in the dance off with him was frustrating.

:05:20.:05:23.

Last year, it was Karen. What is it, Clifton family!

:05:24.:05:29.

You are right, they danced, we went off it? I only just made that one up

:05:30.:05:32.

on the spot. Now, dance-off aside, on Saturday,

:05:33.:05:34.

your American Smooth foxtrot had Craig and Darcey disagreeing over

:05:35.:05:37.

a certain cup cake placement. When you are putting the cup in Cape

:05:38.:05:51.

Town, you don't just throw it, you have to dance that moment. You still

:05:52.:05:56.

have two dogs it through, you can't just throw it on the table.

:05:57.:06:04.

He didn't throw it. Take bigger steps, darling.

:06:05.:06:16.

By the way, what flavour was it? I couldn't even taste it.

:06:17.:06:21.

Then Tess couldn't get it from her hand.

:06:22.:06:25.

Did you see what I did? The second time, I not only gracefully put it

:06:26.:06:29.

down but I looked at Craig really slowly and he burst out laughing.

:06:30.:06:35.

Then I missed the next step! Craig, it is your fault.

:06:36.:06:38.

Dance that cupcake back on to the plate, please!

:06:39.:06:45.

Here it comes, ladies and gentlemen, look at those fingers.

:06:46.:06:56.

Let us see it again. Why didn't I do that on the night.

:06:57.:07:01.

One of your most memorable moments of the series was that

:07:02.:07:04.

Let's remind ourselves of how fantastic it was.

:07:05.:07:25.

What a tune. I love that song. It makes you so happy.

:07:26.:07:31.

Which was your favourite dance? That one. I always said the chow chow,

:07:32.:07:38.

then that one. I will have these memories for life,

:07:39.:07:40.

I may take it on tour. So many people are sad to see you

:07:41.:07:45.

leave the competition, She watches the show with your

:07:46.:07:47.

picture every week. In fact, we have a message

:07:48.:07:56.

from one very special person. Peter, devastated you are gone. I am

:07:57.:08:10.

really going to miss you. Going to cherish every moment we had

:08:11.:08:15.

together. Promise me you will call, promise you will, right?

:08:16.:08:22.

Oh, my gosh. I am going to miss Bob, I have to say.

:08:23.:08:33.

Bob. We have loved watching you so much. Let us have a look at your

:08:34.:08:45.

best moments. Your Mysterious Girl is Jeannette!

:08:46.:08:52.

I honestly cannot tell you how happy I am that I have got Jeannette as my

:08:53.:08:57.

dance partner, she is a little powerhouse.

:08:58.:09:04.

Cha-cha. Back and forward and stop. Why am I not feeling this yet?

:09:05.:09:09.

Because you are still in hip hop. You were overflowing with attitude,

:09:10.:09:14.

it was brilliant. Up at the top, Peter and Janette

:09:15.:09:19.

with 30. Just how quick is this quickstep?

:09:20.:09:25.

Sorry, hang on, sorry. I think you have a hit here.

:09:26.:09:32.

Jack Sparrow. I said, are, are you serious?

:09:33.:09:37.

Jack Sparrow, you are no Sparrow, you are an eagle.

:09:38.:09:44.

That one was better. This week it is the rumba.

:09:45.:09:58.

Out with anger, in with love. The Fox trot this weekend,

:09:59.:10:04.

Halloween. You are dancing to Ghost.

:10:05.:10:06.

Your shoulders were sometimes coming up, not as much as normal.

:10:07.:10:10.

Whenever I see the judges individually I tell them how

:10:11.:10:14.

grateful I am because what I am learning is invaluable.

:10:15.:10:18.

I love Peter Andre come he is my biggest fan.

:10:19.:10:21.

Probably the most fun I have had since the beginning of the

:10:22.:10:24.

competition. I tell you what, watch this bad

:10:25.:10:35.

knee, that was fantastic! Line. Ten from me.

:10:36.:10:41.

Well done. Are you buzzing? I am so happy I can't tell you.

:10:42.:10:46.

Well, I just did. This Viennese waltz is so graceful

:10:47.:10:52.

and beautiful. I would have liked to see you in

:10:53.:10:58.

hold a little more, which you are very capable of around the floor.

:10:59.:11:03.

The jive is very fast paced but there is a lot of footwork.

:11:04.:11:11.

To be honest, it wasn't your finest. I am afraid it falls at the bottom

:11:12.:11:15.

of the pack. The first couple in the dance-off

:11:16.:11:19.

is... Peter and Janette.

:11:20.:11:24.

I deserved to be in that dance off, I did. I don't think virgin media

:11:25.:11:29.

should have been there. Peter is definitely working hard

:11:30.:11:33.

with a fight attitude about him. It looked careful in places, that

:11:34.:11:38.

would be the only thing. I thought you were holding back, you will

:11:39.:11:44.

normally more natural and relaxed. In seventh place is Peter and

:11:45.:11:48.

Janette. The couple in the bottom two is

:11:49.:11:53.

Peter and Janette. The couple I would love to save is

:11:54.:11:59.

Kellie and Kevin. Kellie and Kevin. Kellie and Kevin.

:12:00.:12:04.

It has been nothing but joy, we have come so far. I love everything, I

:12:05.:12:10.

love you guys. I love you and I am so glad to have you as

:12:11.:12:13.

life. You have worked so hard.

:12:14.:12:23.

Look, they are crying. You have made me cry.

:12:24.:12:28.

Where are the tissues? Here is your book.

:12:29.:12:35.

I think that the one person you should go out to dinner with in this

:12:36.:12:41.

condition is Georgia because Georgia May Foote the bill!

:12:42.:12:58.

You, my dearest friend, the patients you have shown has been

:12:59.:13:04.

unbelievable. We have had some great moments. You have worked me hard, I

:13:05.:13:08.

deserved to be kicked where I was because I needed to work hard. The

:13:09.:13:12.

only thing that has made me sad about not going to the end is I

:13:13.:13:16.

could not get you there, that is the truth.

:13:17.:13:20.

I promise you. I am so relieved that I will be at home with the family.

:13:21.:13:30.

But the one thing that makes me sad is I couldn't take you all that

:13:31.:13:33.

weight and I wanted to do it so badly.

:13:34.:13:35.

You are the best. You are better. Everybody treated us with such love.

:13:36.:13:41.

I am giving a full speech at? Do you want the tablecloth?

:13:42.:13:47.

Who would you like to see win? Peter and Janette!

:13:48.:13:52.

You see, it is hard. You have seen the standard, it is incredible.

:13:53.:13:59.

You have got someone like Jay, the guy is phenomenal. Then Georgia who

:14:00.:14:03.

is also phenomenal. Helen, they are all great. I don't know.

:14:04.:14:09.

You have been a true gent, a lovely positive force of energy.

:14:10.:14:18.

And you are a god S. Peter and Janette! Don't forget your

:14:19.:14:19.

cupcakes. Our couples get up to all

:14:20.:14:22.

sorts behind the scenes. Well, at the weekend, we kept a

:14:23.:14:24.

beady eye on a certain Bruno Tonioli Hello, darling! Thank you! Follow

:14:25.:14:44.

me, my good one. It is the quiet before the storm. You have to be

:14:45.:14:48.

focused. This week we're down to the Magnificent Seven and it's a crucial

:14:49.:14:55.

night the cars we decide who will be part of the quarterfinals. --

:14:56.:14:59.

because we decide. It is very nerve wracking. Everyone is working

:15:00.:15:02.

extremely hard to impress the judges and the public. For me to jump out

:15:03.:15:06.

of my chair, there has to be something that really kicks into my

:15:07.:15:12.

guts and captures my heart. You've got to make the guy feel something.

:15:13.:15:18.

He's got to feel it from the inside. Nothing clinical. What really gets

:15:19.:15:21.

me going is when I forget about being a judge and I see something

:15:22.:15:27.

that stands out regardless. He likes to stand up and make a statement!

:15:28.:15:34.

That image comes into my head and then it gets expressed like cherry

:15:35.:15:38.

trees! Tango trek! The last frontier! Three words to describe

:15:39.:15:53.

Bruno? Gorgeous. Insightful. Kind. All of the dancers and pros are

:15:54.:15:59.

rehearsing, so how do I look? Get out! If we thought quickstep was bad

:16:00.:16:08.

enough, they decided to add a Quickstepathon just make it even

:16:09.:16:12.

harder! We are all doing completely different quickstep spot to the same

:16:13.:16:18.

song. Whose idea was it to do a quickstep?! It's ridiculous! It is

:16:19.:16:25.

really difficult. People do this all the time. This is how competitions

:16:26.:16:33.

work, isn't it? I didn't realise how much you can hear other couples

:16:34.:16:38.

giving each other notes. Like, hold on, hold on! Being on hold means I'm

:16:39.:16:43.

not going to be looking at anything except at there, so I have to have

:16:44.:16:50.

all my faith in Kevin Clifton! We are going a bit further in the

:16:51.:16:53.

competition and it is getting difficult. Very close to going on,

:16:54.:17:11.

everybody. Come on! Showtime, folks! Got to go! Got to go!

:17:12.:17:22.

CHEERING AND APPLAUSE Thank you, Bruno.

:17:23.:17:25.

There are now six couples left in the competition.

:17:26.:17:27.

And, with the quarterfinals on the horizon,

:17:28.:17:29.

we've noticed a few interesting findings for all you factoid fans.

:17:30.:17:31.

Firstly, although there are six celebrities

:17:32.:17:33.

That's the first time that's ever happened in Strictly history.

:17:34.:17:38.

Also, of the remaining couples, only one has never been top

:17:39.:17:41.

Yes, unbelievably, it's Anita and Gleb.

:17:42.:17:46.

Aliona and Aljaz are the only two pros that are still

:17:47.:17:49.

in the running to become the first professional dancer to lift the

:17:50.:17:52.

And, the most shocking fact of all is, Anton is through to

:17:53.:18:00.

the quarterfinals for only the fourth time in 13 series.

:18:01.:18:05.

In other news, as per usual, the creme de la creme of the celebrity

:18:06.:18:12.

world were out in force on social media at the weekend, including:

:18:13.:18:17.

Strictly superfan Miranda Hart, who was loving the Quickstepathon, said:

:18:18.:18:23.

Meanwhile, across the pond, Dame Joan Collins said:

:18:24.:18:35.

At the weekend they got their highest score

:18:36.:18:42.

of the series with what Len described as one mango of a tango.

:18:43.:18:45.

Can I just say, another fantastic shirt! Thank you.

:18:46.:19:14.

Did you know as soon as you started training that this

:19:15.:19:18.

There is definitely a Wednesday, Thursday moment when I really start

:19:19.:19:27.

to enjoy dancing it a lot and then it comes down to whether we do a

:19:28.:19:31.

mistake or not and the mistake inevitably throws us off. At... The

:19:32.:19:40.

team was finished -- the routine was finished Thursday evening. That's

:19:41.:19:44.

quite late! Because you have to rehearse all day Friday. So right

:19:45.:19:46.

down to the wire. Well done. What did your mum think

:19:47.:19:48.

of your performance? She was in a pub and said, the roof

:19:49.:19:58.

just came off! She was watching on a big screen in the pub. I thought the

:19:59.:20:04.

roof literally came off! But it was just cheering. Sometimes you have to

:20:05.:20:06.

explain these things to me! Did you ever think you'd be

:20:07.:20:09.

pulling in the 10s for the tango? I never think of the scores. I

:20:10.:20:20.

listen more to the comments. The more important thing is how we do

:20:21.:20:25.

and how Jay performs, so I never think of it until we get up there

:20:26.:20:33.

and they show us the scores. And it wasn't just 210s. It was 29s. -- two

:20:34.:20:49.

tens and two nines. Well, it was received well...

:20:50.:20:51.

How much work goes in to creating a performance of that level?

:20:52.:20:56.

It takes everything out of you. I think emotionally and physically,

:20:57.:21:04.

because we work long hours and Jay works really hard. He's really tough

:21:05.:21:10.

on himself and very, very critical. Yeah, or the technique and acting

:21:11.:21:13.

and the feeling and leading and everything that goes into it. -- all

:21:14.:21:19.

the technique. It takes a long time so the dance is ready pretty much by

:21:20.:21:23.

Saturday morning, hopefully! Fingers crossed!

:21:24.:21:26.

Well, one judge was positively flustered after your tango.

:21:27.:21:33.

Darcey, it takes two to tango. What did you think? Oh, my... Well...

:21:34.:21:46.

What did you think when you looked at Darcey and she was having that

:21:47.:21:50.

reaction? It feels good because during the dance it is meant to be

:21:51.:21:54.

passionate and serious, so when somebody reacts like they were

:21:55.:21:57.

feeling what you were feeling, it is good, and to watch it back and

:21:58.:22:01.

analyse it, the breast she was doing well areas! -- the breathing she was

:22:02.:22:13.

doing was hilarious! You got your highest score on the jive. Do you

:22:14.:22:20.

feel you've finally matched it? I think technically we must have done

:22:21.:22:24.

something really good and everything else is taste, so some people are

:22:25.:22:32.

like, I really love that waltz one. But lots of people loved Pulp

:22:33.:22:37.

Fiction and they thought, what's happening? But the jive will always

:22:38.:22:42.

have a special place in my heart but the tango... It was the first really

:22:43.:22:48.

amazing one. I've watched that over and over again. That's a really good

:22:49.:22:56.

sign, isn't it? Hang on, let's talk about the Quickstepathon. We all

:22:57.:22:59.

thought you were a scholar by the way. -- were ace, by the way. With

:23:00.:23:10.

everybody on the floor at the same time, was it dangerous, was it

:23:11.:23:16.

exciting? I can honestly say I absolutely loved every single second

:23:17.:23:19.

of it and I realise now why people do that, because there is so much

:23:20.:23:24.

adrenaline, trying to weave through people, and you can hear people

:23:25.:23:27.

correcting each other, panicking, and you are just dancing to this

:23:28.:23:33.

sort of... It was just fun! I want to do it every week! I'm sure that

:23:34.:23:38.

could be arranged! There were moments when I saw your lines and,

:23:39.:23:43.

oh! We didn't bump into anybody once! There were three couples

:23:44.:23:50.

together and one of the kicks, when you look, only as the kick, it was

:23:51.:23:56.

like, whoa! Two shows between you and the final, Aliona. There is a

:23:57.:24:04.

chance you could be one of the couples to win the trophy twice. How

:24:05.:24:09.

much does this possibility excite you? Actually, I never think about

:24:10.:24:15.

that. We do actually take one dance at a time. As long as the dance that

:24:16.:24:19.

we do is great and everything goes to plan, I'm so happy. She's driven

:24:20.:24:25.

only by results and I cry weekly! LAUGHTER

:24:26.:24:33.

It is the truth! That is so funny! You are also the only boy left in

:24:34.:24:37.

the competition. It is musical is weak and rumba time. What are you

:24:38.:24:46.

doing? We are going to do a rumba to the song Falling Slowly from the

:24:47.:24:51.

musical Once. Oh! I've never seen it. How is the rumba going? Because

:24:52.:25:00.

people have a bit of a love-hate relationship with it. I genuinely

:25:01.:25:05.

love it. People put at bit too much emphasis on, it is a difficult

:25:06.:25:11.

dance. If you understand what it is about it is easier because

:25:12.:25:13.

dance. If you understand what it is half the steps that you would

:25:14.:25:17.

usually have in any other dance. So if you get the idea of the movement,

:25:18.:25:22.

it is actually almost somewhat easier because it's like less steps

:25:23.:25:29.

to learn. Less steps to learn! Just a bit of undulating and all of that!

:25:30.:25:34.

You will be fine! What do you think about Peter going? It is a real

:25:35.:25:39.

shame. I said it a few times but really he is the most reassuring guy

:25:40.:25:44.

ever. Even in his tough weeks he goes, that's fine, and then he asks

:25:45.:25:47.

you about how your week is. I don't like it. Such a positive energy and

:25:48.:25:58.

always upbeat. Just beautiful. Good luck with the dance that has less

:25:59.:26:03.

steps than the rest! Jay and Aliona! CHEERING AND APPLAUSE

:26:04.:26:09.

Our backstage beavers have been busy fact-finding for weeks!

:26:10.:26:13.

Well, it's time to make one of our professional dancers really sweat.

:26:14.:26:23.

Welcome to Strictly Spotlight, the new quiz that's got

:26:24.:26:25.

our professional dancers quaking in their dance shoes.

:26:26.:26:28.

And the first pro brave enough to go under the Spotlight is

:26:29.:26:31.

CHEERING AND APPLAUSE Hi, gorgeous! This is quite scary,

:26:32.:26:45.

isn't it? We have missed you. A beautiful dance with Kevin name to

:26:46.:26:50.

end. You ready for this, Karen? This is how it works.

:26:51.:26:53.
