Hello and welcome to your first It Takes Two of the week! | :00:57. | :00:59.
The show that's clinically proven to wash away those Monday blues, | :01:00. | :01:03.
thanks to active ingredients such as sparkle, sequins and glitter. | :01:04. | :01:07.
And the glitterati were out in force on Saturday for another night | :01:08. | :01:11.
But for one of our couples, their Strictly journey had to come | :01:12. | :01:22.
to an end and tonight they're here to say a fond farewell. | :01:23. | :01:25.
Also, we're in safe hands tonight because Ed and Katya are here! | :01:26. | :01:38.
Plus, with Karen Hardy trotting the globe, we need another | :01:39. | :01:40.
great choreopgraphic mind to fill her shoes, it's only | :01:41. | :01:42.
Now normally whatever Lesley wants, Lesley gets but on this occasion | :01:43. | :01:48.
After five fabulous weeks, it was the Tango | :01:49. | :01:55.
Before we say our goodbyes, here's a look at Lesley | :01:56. | :01:58.
Give it up for Leslie and Anton! The only one dance I have watched back | :01:59. | :02:45.
was the Charleston. The joy of next week would have been better. I | :02:46. | :02:51.
cannot watch myself. Because all I see the mistakes or I am fat or | :02:52. | :02:56.
something. So the Charleston, I absolutely loved. That's the last | :02:57. | :03:03.
dance, as well. It was such a dream of yours to do Strictly Come | :03:04. | :03:07.
Dancing. How much have you loved it? What I loved was the training. | :03:08. | :03:13.
Because we laughed a lot. I love learning all the dances. Every dance | :03:14. | :03:16.
I would say, that's my new favourite dance! You're making me laugh! I | :03:17. | :03:26.
loved all the dancing. It was lovely to learn to ballroom dance and he is | :03:27. | :03:29.
a legend, a very good teacher. And we did laugh all the time. But we | :03:30. | :03:36.
did some hard work, we really did, I whipped him into shape! I'm | :03:37. | :03:39.
exhausted! I'm glad she is out, quite frankly! Are you ready to let | :03:40. | :03:48.
go of him yet? It is too soon! He is a friend, it's not like he's going | :03:49. | :03:52.
anywhere. It's an entertainment show, you go when you go, it is what | :03:53. | :03:57.
it is, some are brilliant dancers, some can't dance for toffee, some | :03:58. | :04:03.
can't lift the toffee... It is what it is. I loved the time! We have had | :04:04. | :04:11.
a great time, I have lost a bit of weight, I firmed up, all that means | :04:12. | :04:15.
is now I've got to keep going to dance class to keep the forays down. | :04:16. | :04:19.
Are you available for private dance lessons! I have some time on my | :04:20. | :04:26.
hands! I have loved every second of it, it wasn't asked of me but I'm | :04:27. | :04:30.
going to tell you. She is right, we have laughed, we really have, it's | :04:31. | :04:38.
been the most fun. I said it on Saturday night, the great thing | :04:39. | :04:41.
about Leslie is she was really good at picking things up quickly so | :04:42. | :04:45.
rather than spending a whole which ran the London number, we had the | :04:46. | :04:50.
chance to pick it up quickly and then develop it. Because you would | :04:51. | :04:54.
have so much input and then we would work on things and from my | :04:55. | :04:59.
perspective, that was joyous. I think I was hired a lot the token | :05:00. | :05:02.
old woman who probably couldn't do it and would be dragged around the | :05:03. | :05:06.
floor, I have worked in this business for 50 years, I am very | :05:07. | :05:13.
bit. I don't mean, she is fit! It means I am fit and supple. I have | :05:14. | :05:19.
put energy than most people I know, I don't know where it comes from, I | :05:20. | :05:25.
have been up five, filming Birds all day. So I have been in, proved to | :05:26. | :05:32.
myself and other people, please don't expect me to be the big blog, | :05:33. | :05:37.
that's not who or what I am. You haven't been that at all, you have | :05:38. | :05:41.
inspired so many men and women of all ages to get up and give it a go | :05:42. | :05:48.
and take up dancing. Three out of four the couples who have gone have | :05:49. | :05:53.
gone on T. Often it is a rumble, this year it seems to be the tango, | :05:54. | :05:59.
why is that? I wish they had told me last week! It is such a tricky one, | :06:00. | :06:07.
the tango. I don't really know. It depends what else is being done. The | :06:08. | :06:13.
tango is very difficult, it has to be sharp, it has got to have a | :06:14. | :06:19.
staccato feel about it, it has got to be dramatic, all those elements, | :06:20. | :06:24.
they are so different, it's a stand-alone dance, the others are | :06:25. | :06:28.
swing dances, they move and glide across the floor. The tango is the | :06:29. | :06:34.
polar opposite. If you can't do it very well, that's it, you only get | :06:35. | :06:39.
one go, you can't develop it. If someone else has done something more | :06:40. | :06:43.
spectacular... It's hard because it is in a hold position, you have to | :06:44. | :06:51.
stay together, it has to be sharp, detached, it's got all these | :06:52. | :06:56.
different elements... Passionate. If you show too much passion... You | :06:57. | :07:02.
can't be detached, so it's difficult to be clinical about the dance. Shut | :07:03. | :07:11.
up! And also to show the passion. It is the contrasting... It is | :07:12. | :07:15.
difficult to get right. Yes, it's hard! We got the message! You have | :07:16. | :07:22.
played so many fantastic characters. I loved the missing tooth. People | :07:23. | :07:29.
thought, my God, she has lost a tooth! | :07:30. | :07:32.
I love him, he is a Strictly legend! Merry Christmas to me! You are doing | :07:33. | :07:51.
the Wilts! Look at me, I am tripping, I will be a sudden mass on | :07:52. | :07:57.
the floor by the end. Sophisticated, elegant. I thought you'd danced that | :07:58. | :08:07.
beautifully. It is nice to break out after the warts. I am unconcerned | :08:08. | :08:15.
about me doing it than her doing it. You showed no sign of inhibition. I | :08:16. | :08:22.
could watch it again. It may be weak. | :08:23. | :08:28.
He got it wrong! I got it different! I never get it wrong! | :08:29. | :08:37.
I love the role-play, I love all the quirky character you put in. I'm | :08:38. | :08:47.
loving the Charleston and I can't wait to Charleston my way through | :08:48. | :08:54.
the show. You bring such a cheeky, fun, naughty little girl to this. | :08:55. | :08:59.
You will need to shock me each time, strong, vibrant, I loved it. She is | :09:00. | :09:09.
a superstar, just outstanding. To me, the tango scene is different to | :09:10. | :09:11.
the other ballroom dancers we have done. You look like you have been | :09:12. | :09:18.
taser at! I have got a lot to work on, basically. You were hanging on | :09:19. | :09:25.
to him for dear life! I don't think this is a dance for you. It's time | :09:26. | :09:35.
to decide. I will save Daisy and Aljaz. Working with him has been an | :09:36. | :09:43.
absolute joy. It's been an lovely, lovely journey and it's come to the | :09:44. | :09:44.
end and that's fine. You can open your eyes now! You have | :09:45. | :09:58.
lit up our screens every week, we are really going to miss you, what | :09:59. | :10:01.
are you going to miss most about this experience? Training with | :10:02. | :10:07.
Anton. Who would you like to win? Couldn't call it. I thought you were | :10:08. | :10:14.
going to say, couldn't care! There are a lot of very talented people. | :10:15. | :10:18.
It's not just about being a brilliant dancer, it's about a | :10:19. | :10:22.
journey and Astori, Ore would be wonderful because his heart and soul | :10:23. | :10:27.
is in it and every week... They are wonderful family, we are all very | :10:28. | :10:32.
close and it's been a great time. You are adorable, we have loved | :10:33. | :10:33.
having you. Lesley and Anton! Now sometimes two and a half hours | :10:34. | :10:38.
of pure unadulterated ballroom joy So sit back and soak up all this | :10:39. | :10:41.
behind the scenes action. Morning! Let's do this! I am here, | :10:42. | :10:57.
ready to do it! Hi, we are hanging and chilling! I | :10:58. | :11:19.
am better static than moving, the great thing about the lift is you | :11:20. | :11:23.
can get into position, the bit enjoy the most. We love you, Rob! | :11:24. | :11:35.
It's a really beautiful song. And really amazing routine, I want to do | :11:36. | :11:43.
it as good as I possibly can so fingers crossed. Do you reckon? Yes, | :11:44. | :11:46.
fingers crossed! Wardrobe, they are very talented. | :11:47. | :12:03.
Sometimes you just can't see the obvious additions to an outfit. | :12:04. | :12:12.
There is a lot of nerves about the place today, a little bit of a | :12:13. | :12:20.
change in the air, Ore got some tens last weeks of the gauntlet has been | :12:21. | :12:25.
thrown down. The nerves are settling in, it's getting harder rather than | :12:26. | :12:30.
easier. I am not thinking about comparing myself to the others | :12:31. | :12:32.
because they are also much better than me! I am hopefully gone to | :12:33. | :12:38.
perform as well as I can, I don't want to go yet. | :12:39. | :12:45.
Make up! I am really excited. I had my excitement means I don't really | :12:46. | :12:58.
well. That's the plan! I am bursting with excitement, don't you know me? | :12:59. | :13:02.
I am terrified. Look who I have got. Now, if there's one thing famous | :13:03. | :13:12.
people are good at it's And finally, Tim Vine had a message | :13:13. | :13:19.
for one of our Strictly stars: Sending our love to Laura | :13:20. | :13:58.
and looking forward to seeing her and Giovanni back on the Strictly | :13:59. | :14:01.
dance floor soon. Now, did we mention that | :14:02. | :14:06.
Karen Hardy is on the other Well, we've found a replacement | :14:07. | :14:08.
who is out of this world. She's one of Strictly's original | :14:09. | :14:12.
pros, lifting the Glitterball Trophy with Tom Chambers in 2008 | :14:13. | :14:14.
and cementing her place If you haven't quite guessed | :14:15. | :14:17.
who it is, here's a very big clue! I thought it was fabulous. I am | :14:18. | :14:48.
knocked out, it was brilliant. It was unbelievable. All I can say is | :14:49. | :14:57.
wow! Ladies and gentlemen, the winners of Strictly Come Dancing | :14:58. | :14:59.
2008, Tom and Camilla! So many great memories | :15:00. | :15:03.
there, not least lifting Still to date that was the best show | :15:04. | :15:25.
dance over. It must bring back many fond memories? So many. I felt quite | :15:26. | :15:31.
emotional watching that. What have you been up to since we last saw | :15:32. | :15:37.
you? I have moved to Los Angeles where I run a life coaching, | :15:38. | :15:42.
hypnosis and meditation business. I have just finished writing my second | :15:43. | :15:45.
book which will be out next year. And I have done a few shows with Ian | :15:46. | :15:51.
Waite. He never stops talking about you! He is obsessed with me! We are | :15:52. | :15:59.
going to talk about our couples. The standard is so good this year. | :16:00. | :16:04.
Starting with Daisy and Aljaz with their charleston. They found | :16:05. | :16:08.
themselves in the bottom two for the first time. Craig said mistakes | :16:09. | :16:12.
could be amplified with white gloves and white shoes, what do you think? | :16:13. | :16:18.
I agree with him. I also found it was so dark with the costume it did | :16:19. | :16:22.
not do her any favours. I love the moves that I was not drawn to it. It | :16:23. | :16:28.
was like a spark was missing. I would rather see something more | :16:29. | :16:34.
sassy. Some or sparkles? She blended in. Did you spot any mistakes? I did | :16:35. | :16:42.
not. Craig said you needed to be contained and obviously she is very | :16:43. | :16:46.
tall. You are tall dance. Why is it difficult when you are taller? I | :16:47. | :16:51.
totally connect with that. For many years I felt it was all arms and | :16:52. | :16:56.
legs and it does take more to get control when you have a lot of arms. | :16:57. | :17:00.
I'm with her on that. But I think she did a good job. I don't think | :17:01. | :17:05.
there was anything wrong with the moves. And she survived the | :17:06. | :17:09.
dance-off. Danny and Oti with the rumba. He was the first male | :17:10. | :17:15.
celebrity to do it. But Len said it was wrong to the point when it went | :17:16. | :17:21.
a bit staccato. In rumba often you would have a strong move and then | :17:22. | :17:25.
you would have a softness after so strong and soft. But it kind of went | :17:26. | :17:30.
from strong to strong and that could come across a bit staccato and I | :17:31. | :17:34.
think maybe Oti did that to not make it boring and I think it worked | :17:35. | :17:40.
really well. So you get that drama? It was fantastic. Look at the | :17:41. | :17:51.
sliding door here. Yes, Len so excited because Oti put in one of | :17:52. | :17:55.
his favourite moves. What is a sliding door? It is my favourite | :17:56. | :18:01.
move. Shall we do it together? If you step to the side. And then you | :18:02. | :18:06.
go this way. Do I look like a man? That is a | :18:07. | :18:22.
sliding door. Not just a film with Gwyneth Paltrow with long hair and | :18:23. | :18:29.
then shot her. It was amazing. Let's move on to Greg and Natalie who | :18:30. | :18:33.
unfortunately got their lowest score for the cha-cha-cha. Darcey said it | :18:34. | :18:37.
was not his dance. That happens, doesn't it? I agree. For years I | :18:38. | :18:43.
thought the samba and I would not become friends and then we did. I | :18:44. | :18:48.
have loved Greg's journey so far. I am going to use the word journey. I | :18:49. | :18:52.
hope he does not dwell on this. Move on, it happens. Then it did say | :18:53. | :19:03.
there was a horrendous blunder at the beginning, did you spot it? I | :19:04. | :19:08.
think he gets on the wrong foot and he was trying to catch up and he | :19:09. | :19:13.
gets there to early before Natalie. But she recovered really well. He | :19:14. | :19:19.
was so concentrated on the steps. I think he said the steps would not | :19:20. | :19:23.
come and then if you have to think about them too much, it happens. It | :19:24. | :19:31.
happens. And then Ore and Joanne and their waltz. Last week's jive was | :19:32. | :19:36.
always going to be hard to top. How impressed are you with this boy? I | :19:37. | :19:43.
am very impressed. He did a standing spin which was phenomenal. But | :19:44. | :19:48.
moving forward, he has amazing leg and foot action, but I don't want to | :19:49. | :19:52.
see that in the shoulders. There was a couple of times when I was seeing | :19:53. | :19:56.
that in the top line and this is supposed to be completely calm and | :19:57. | :20:00.
use while the legs working really hard. He needs to keep that still. | :20:01. | :20:11.
Won also said -- Len also said that doing nothing is the hardest thing | :20:12. | :20:16.
will stop how important are the pauses in a waltz? It is the | :20:17. | :20:22.
quality. If you go somewhere and you fall out with the head action | :20:23. | :20:25.
quickly you think they are off-balance but if you take time to | :20:26. | :20:32.
move the head and then go in it is good. He has the ability to do that. | :20:33. | :20:39.
Will you come back and talk to us more tomorrow? Yes please! Camilla | :20:40. | :20:41.
Dallerup! Now, our pros might be fantastic | :20:42. | :20:44.
dancers but they're terrible liars. Which is great news | :20:45. | :20:47.
for us because it's time Which pro wears the most fake tan? I | :20:48. | :21:14.
reckon some people would say me. Kevin. Kevin wears a lot of fake | :21:15. | :21:21.
tan. Definitely has to be my husband Kevin. My sheets at home are ruined. | :21:22. | :21:27.
But I am pipped to the post by Natalie Lowe. Natalie. Definitely | :21:28. | :21:33.
Natalie Lowe. Natalie Lowe wears more fake tan than Essex. She is | :21:34. | :21:40.
addicted. The problem is getting close, it leaves a Spain. It has to | :21:41. | :21:49.
be me! Who is the vain list pro? Guess and Lee AJ. AJ. AJ. AJ. Loves | :21:50. | :21:59.
checking his face out because he is so cute. He cannot walk past a | :22:00. | :22:04.
mirror without checking himself out. He's always in front of the mirror | :22:05. | :22:10.
doing his hair and taking a selfie. Mr selfie in the booth of truth | :22:11. | :22:16.
right now. AJ, can you stop looking in front the mirror? Any reflective | :22:17. | :22:23.
surface, I have noticed AJ likes looking. I do take a lot of selfie | :22:24. | :22:29.
is so some of them could call me Mr selfie! | :22:30. | :22:33.
Thank you to our lovely pros. Now, our next couple hitched a lift | :22:34. | :22:35.
to the Strictly Ballroom And you could say they | :22:36. | :22:38.
experienced a slight hitch You always take us places I would | :22:39. | :22:53.
never expect. Plodding, pedestrian, absolutely no style whatsoever. It | :22:54. | :23:00.
was just a rotten shame that your big spectacular moment went a bit | :23:01. | :23:05.
pear shaped. But well done! I liked watching you. We all love watching | :23:06. | :23:14.
them. Ed and Katya! First off, I must say, you were an absolute | :23:15. | :23:19.
vision out on the floor. Sun-kissed Gold, your first spray tan, | :23:20. | :23:24.
congratulations, how was that experience? It was cold and tingly | :23:25. | :23:32.
but I only went for the half. Which half? Top half. Your legs are | :23:33. | :23:39.
completely white? Jeremy Vine said go completely starkers and go the | :23:40. | :23:43.
whole deal. I said what costume will you ever wear that you would need a | :23:44. | :23:48.
full tan. I decided to go for the top half but I think I have ducked | :23:49. | :23:54.
it. Maybe I need a full Jeremy. Do you get half price if you only get | :23:55. | :23:59.
half done? You did look great on the dance floor. How much did you enjoy | :24:00. | :24:03.
the American smooth, apart from the lift, which we will discuss in a | :24:04. | :24:09.
moment. The music was fabulous. The choreography from Katya was related | :24:10. | :24:14.
as always. And as Len said, there was some good stuff. We had a | :24:15. | :24:18.
leather step and a promenade and they weave. We were trying to pack | :24:19. | :24:22.
it in. Unfortunately, people will remember it for the lift. You were | :24:23. | :24:28.
saying that the Saturday was about showing the judges he can improve | :24:29. | :24:32.
his technique, he can learn the steps and the points were better | :24:33. | :24:37.
than the paso doble, so you can take positives from it? Absolutely. It | :24:38. | :24:47.
was really nice to hear from Len... My voice is back. The foxtrot steps | :24:48. | :24:56.
were really nice. Apart from that, with the ten or 15 seconds with the | :24:57. | :25:01.
horror of the left, everything else was nice. You said you loved the | :25:02. | :25:06.
lift! Darcey said you were so good she wants you to come back next | :25:07. | :25:11.
year. What an honour. Does it mean leave now and come back next year? | :25:12. | :25:16.
Stay for the whole run. Imagine how good you will be for the dances. I | :25:17. | :25:23.
will be ten stone. What about the lift? Katya, did your life flash in | :25:24. | :25:27.
front of your eyes? Absolutely not. It might looked like it but I knew | :25:28. | :25:34.
he would never drop me. It is quite secure. So actually not. I was not | :25:35. | :25:42.
scared I was going to full because it happened in training. We would | :25:43. | :25:47.
not have put it in if I thought he couldn't do it. And we know you can | :25:48. | :25:51.
do it because you pulled it off in rehearsals. This was you on Friday. | :25:52. | :26:02.
Here it goes and it is perfect. Look how strongly you are! And a perfect | :26:03. | :26:09.
dismount. We proved it right after. What went wrong technically? We have | :26:10. | :26:16.
watched the video and we don't know. It never happened in that particular | :26:17. | :26:23.
way. Sometimes it takes time to get the foot in. I have a huge bruise in | :26:24. | :26:29.
rehearsals. But this time Katya flew. She went round and pivots. | :26:30. | :26:35.
People on TV were worried about dropping but we were worried about | :26:36. | :26:38.
how to come round and get onto the right step for the next bit of the | :26:39. | :26:43.
foxtrot. Actually, we got into it quite well. It was a pity that Iraq | :26:44. | :26:48.
and the key thing is, we could have no lifts, we could play it safe and | :26:49. | :26:52.
that would be boring. It is much better for us to go for it, do our | :26:53. | :26:57.
best and try and push the boundaries. It was like the pot stir | :26:58. | :27:11.
in the samba. We went for it and it worked. You have got to have a go. | :27:12. | :27:14.
We have decided we are the risk-takers. And I loved it! Now, | :27:15. | :27:16.
the cha-cha-cha. I have seen some of it and it looks very good indeed. | :27:17. | :27:24.
Nice hand position. It is Halloween, you are going to be a mad scientist. | :27:25. | :27:29.
Any frightening choreography to look out for? There are no lifts. It is | :27:30. | :27:39.
all on the floor. We always have the moments that Ed brings his own style | :27:40. | :27:44.
into any dances which is good. She rolls her eyes on a Wednesday but by | :27:45. | :27:51.
Saturday it is in. Good cha-cha, good story. I cannot dance obviously | :27:52. | :27:58.
so he gives me a portion and I turn into a brilliant dancer. This is | :27:59. | :28:01.
obviously the character she is talking about. I came onto the show | :28:02. | :28:06.
saying I did not want to do any Latin because my hips would not move | :28:07. | :28:11.
but I have a two lessons and actually I really like it. -- two | :28:12. | :28:18.
hours of lessons. When I watched you practising you could see the sparkle | :28:19. | :28:22.
in your eyes. You do really brilliantly when there is a | :28:23. | :28:25.
character to play and you are playing the mad sign test so that | :28:26. | :28:29.
will be fun. But he is a mad signed test who does not need a potion in | :28:30. | :28:33.
order to be a great dancer. Let's see if I can pull off that bit of | :28:34. | :28:38.
character as well! Take the potion as well in case! If it works, | :28:39. | :28:54.
sell it to everyone on the show. We love watching you, Ed and Katya! | :28:55. | :29:01. |
