CHEERING AND APPLAUSE | 0:00:59 | 0:01:01
Hello, and welcome to It Takes Two! | 0:01:01 | 0:01:03
What a weekend! | 0:01:03 | 0:01:04
Eight couples left
in the competition, | 0:01:04 | 0:01:06
which means one thing -
Blackpool week | 0:01:06 | 0:01:07
officially starts here! | 0:01:07 | 0:01:08
ORGAN MUSIC PLAYS. | 0:01:08 | 0:01:11
But sadly one couple have
just missed out on that | 0:01:11 | 0:01:13
Tower Ballroom magic. | 0:01:13 | 0:01:16
Yes, Ruth and Anton were eliminated
from the competition. | 0:01:16 | 0:01:19
Sad times! | 0:01:19 | 0:01:25
Will be talking to them and giving
them love in a moment. | 0:01:25 | 0:01:29
Helping them go out
with a bang tonight - | 0:01:29 | 0:01:31
it's Susan and Kevin! | 0:01:31 | 0:01:35
What a tango this weekend. | 0:01:35 | 0:01:36
Plus, joining us to give an overview
of the series so far - | 0:01:36 | 0:01:39
it's last year's champ,
Ore! | 0:01:39 | 0:01:42 | |
But first, some things are just
meant to go together, | 0:01:42 | 0:01:45
and from the start, Ruth and Anton
were the perfect pairing. | 0:01:45 | 0:01:49
Before we say goodbye,
let's take a look at them having | 0:01:49 | 0:01:52
"heaps" of fun in their last dance. | 0:01:52 | 0:02:02
# I'm losing everything
# It's like the sun going down on | 0:02:07 | 0:02:10
me. | 0:02:10 | 0:02:16 | |
CHEERING AND APPLAUSE | 0:02:20 | 0:02:21
Ruth and Anton, everyone! | 0:02:21 | 0:02:24
So joyous. | 0:02:24 | 0:02:27
Recovered from that rugby scrum? | 0:02:27 | 0:02:31
We didn't plan any of that. We were
walking to the dance floor saying, | 0:02:31 | 0:02:36
we haven't planned anything. And I
thought, that's why I love you, | 0:02:36 | 0:02:39
Anton du Beke. I didn't know
everybody else would pile on. Very | 0:02:39 | 0:02:44
cute with Debbie on to the top at
the very end. I thought it might | 0:02:44 | 0:02:50
kill you. That wouldn't be good.
Anton never moved again. I was | 0:02:50 | 0:02:56
clenching, don't worry. You have
been one of our favourite pairings. | 0:02:56 | 0:03:04
One of? I have to remain impartial.
I am fine, but very disappointed, | 0:03:04 | 0:03:10
mostly for this man because I would
love to do a ballroom dance in the | 0:03:10 | 0:03:14
Tower Ballroom, but it wasn't to be.
I didn't do a good foxtrot. I | 0:03:14 | 0:03:21
thought you did a good foxtrot. I
don't think they understood it. | 0:03:21 | 0:03:25
Traditionally we have slows in the
foxtrot and recovered that with the | 0:03:25 | 0:03:32
first step. And then we did a
selection of weaving. Then the fall | 0:03:32 | 0:03:38
away, look at that. And then we have
a little fall away, more fall away. | 0:03:38 | 0:03:46
And then a weave and then fall away.
And you did they locked backwards as | 0:03:46 | 0:03:51
well. Are we going backwards now?
Let's go that way instead. You did | 0:03:51 | 0:04:01
look beautiful. It was a special
tune for you. If you are going to go | 0:04:01 | 0:04:05
out, go out in the arms of the King
of ballroom. I did love the hats and | 0:04:05 | 0:04:11
canes at the top. Unfortunately the
judges didn't talk about that much, | 0:04:11 | 0:04:14
apart from saying it was out of
time. They don't know what they are | 0:04:14 | 0:04:19
talking about. Most of them can
barely see. I noticed some jazz and | 0:04:19 | 0:04:24
the Keynes. You have done it all. It
was a dance-off of foxtrot. It's | 0:04:24 | 0:04:30
proving to be as tricky as the judge
etcher this year. The judges don't | 0:04:30 | 0:04:33
understand it. It is the hardest of
all the ballroom dances because | 0:04:33 | 0:04:45
there is a simplicity of
choreography. Or there should be. It | 0:04:45 | 0:04:49
is supposed to flow elegantly across
the four. You don't want to | 0:04:49 | 0:04:53
overcomplicate it with intricate
choreography. Then it becomes a bit | 0:04:53 | 0:04:57
like the warts. It's very difficult
to get the smoothness and elegance | 0:04:57 | 0:05:01
of the dance. -- a bit like the | 0:05:01 | 0:05:13
waltz. It but it is very stupid.
From the very beginning the whole | 0:05:14 | 0:05:21
nation was hoping you two would be
paired up. I was the whole nation! | 0:05:21 | 0:05:26
Look at the magic that followed.
Here is your strictly story. I have | 0:05:26 | 0:05:31
to keep pinching myself. I monster
come dancing. I feel like a | 0:05:31 | 0:05:34
princess. You will be swapping
Heymann with... Anton. I can't | 0:05:34 | 0:05:43
believe I could have been this
lucky. We are doing the waltz first. | 0:05:43 | 0:05:48
Lovely. Look at me. Don't look at
me. Look at me a bit. You have this | 0:05:48 | 0:05:58
wonderful aura about you. You had a
lot of mistakes but you are very | 0:05:58 | 0:06:02
graceful. Ruth is amazing. She is a
natural charleston dancer. The line | 0:06:02 | 0:06:09
is fast. Just a bit faster. We had
no idea you were such a good | 0:06:09 | 0:06:19
flapper. You nailed it today! Left,
right, close. I love the rumba. It's | 0:06:19 | 0:06:29
sensual, tents and sexy. I hope I
can do all that and remember the | 0:06:29 | 0:06:32
steps. I thought the rumba was very
stilted and it lacked action. It has | 0:06:32 | 0:06:40
to have heat, it's a Latin dance.
And your timing went right off. I'm | 0:06:40 | 0:06:46
still loving my Strictly experience
despite being towards the bottom of | 0:06:46 | 0:06:49
the Leaderboard. Tango is just
walking very quickly to music, being | 0:06:49 | 0:06:56
a bit intense. I can walk. Can I be
intense? I will give it a go. I felt | 0:06:56 | 0:07:04
you were in the moment. Great
improvement. Well done, amazing. | 0:07:04 | 0:07:11
This is my happy tango face. Anton
has told me he wants it to be like | 0:07:11 | 0:07:16
an old style samba. I don't really
know what a new style samba is. Lots | 0:07:16 | 0:07:22
of content, you are on the wrong
foot here and there, but who cares. | 0:07:22 | 0:07:26
I loved the comedy, but I didn't
love the technique. I can't believe | 0:07:26 | 0:07:30
I made it to Halloween week.
Thrilled. The counting things seems | 0:07:30 | 0:07:36
to be foxing her somewhat. You have
made a wonderful improvement, so be | 0:07:36 | 0:07:45
proud. It lacked any style and I
thought it was too heavy and too | 0:07:45 | 0:07:49
sloppy. I can't please Craig. I
didn't agree with everything he | 0:07:49 | 0:07:54
said. I love the paso doble. I am a
fearless and fearless woman in this. | 0:07:54 | 0:08:00
My husband can say I can be quite
fierce. I will just think of him. | 0:08:00 | 0:08:07
Ruth, you represent absolute joy. I
have never seen a paso doble so | 0:08:07 | 0:08:12
humorous. If you can hold onto a
narrative like that, I want to watch | 0:08:12 | 0:08:15
it every time. Learning to dance is
everything I thought it would be. | 0:08:15 | 0:08:21
This is nice. It's fantastic. I felt
like you were trotting like a horse. | 0:08:21 | 0:08:29
Sadly you were slightly out of your
depth. Who are you going to save? | 0:08:29 | 0:08:36
Jonnie and 20. -- Jonnie and Oti. He
has made this so much fun and I hope | 0:08:36 | 0:08:46
we will be friends for a long time.
You are amazing. | 0:08:46 | 0:08:55
CHEERING AND APPLAUSE. | 0:08:55 | 0:08:58
We have never seen a couple laugh so
much at the joy of it. Eight dances | 0:08:58 | 0:09:04
that you've learned. I'm so thrilled
to have got this far. I didn't think | 0:09:04 | 0:09:08
I would make it past week two or
three. That far?! He is the most | 0:09:08 | 0:09:15
wonderful teacher. We laughed a lot,
he's so patient and he didn't tell | 0:09:15 | 0:09:19
me for once, even when I cried. He
made me a cup of tea, and it got to | 0:09:19 | 0:09:24
the point where he just brought a
hankie and I cooked it in my skirt. | 0:09:24 | 0:09:30
It has been wonderful watching your
confidence grow. -- tucked it. Your | 0:09:30 | 0:09:36
biggest supporters, Eamonn and Jack
have been there every week. They | 0:09:36 | 0:09:47
will get some decent dinners now I'm
back. I said in my speech, and they | 0:09:47 | 0:09:54
can't put everything in, to have
them there every single week is a | 0:09:54 | 0:09:56
big commitment from your family.
Especially Jack, he's only 15, but | 0:09:56 | 0:10:01
he loved it. He was quite emotional
on Saturday. You showed me a message | 0:10:01 | 0:10:05
she wrote you, which was beautiful.
Only one can go on to win now. You | 0:10:05 | 0:10:12
have made some amazing friends. Who
is getting your support? They will | 0:10:12 | 0:10:18
all get my support. I'm not going to
say who I want to win because I love | 0:10:18 | 0:10:24
them all and think they all doing
incredibly well. That's not what you | 0:10:24 | 0:10:27
said yesterday. I'm not saying it. I
think Debbie has a very good chance. | 0:10:27 | 0:10:34
Flexi McGee. Please tell me you will
continue experimenting with and | 0:10:34 | 0:10:42
wearing those wigs. And love to
Eamonn | 0:10:42 | 0:10:47
wearing those wigs. And love to
Eamonn, maybe next year he will | 0:10:47 | 0:10:49
follow in your footsteps! | 0:10:49 | 0:10:55
Give it up for Ruth
and Anton everyone! | 0:10:55 | 0:10:57
CHEERING AND APPLAUSE. | 0:10:57 | 0:11:00
Now, this year's series has already
been full of surprises. | 0:11:00 | 0:11:03
We've had incredible performances,
high scores and shock dance-offs. | 0:11:03 | 0:11:10
But it's still fair to say that this
year's champ is too early to call. | 0:11:10 | 0:11:13
So, we've bringing in a man to help
make sense of it all. | 0:11:13 | 0:11:16
It's time for Ore's Overview. | 0:11:16 | 0:11:18
It is the reigning champion. | 0:11:33 | 0:11:35
Ore, everyone! | 0:11:35 | 0:11:36
CHEERING AND APPLAUSE. | 0:11:36 | 0:11:39
It is super smashing to see you.
Lovely to be back on the air. It's | 0:11:39 | 0:11:44
weird without Joanne, but it's nice.
We will make a little puppet. | 0:11:44 | 0:11:48
Have you been enjoying
the class of 2017? | 0:11:48 | 0:11:51
It's weird when you first watch and
you are not involved. It's | 0:11:51 | 0:11:55
different, but I'm loving it, like a
super fan all over again. All those | 0:11:55 | 0:11:59
emotions on the sofa on a Saturday
night, curled up with my blanket and | 0:11:59 | 0:12:04
my tissues in hand. It never goes
away. Still weeping. | 0:12:04 | 0:12:09
This time last year you and Jo had
just danced a rumba and were placed | 0:12:09 | 0:12:13
fourth on the leaderboard. | 0:12:13 | 0:12:14
Proof that things can
still change - right? | 0:12:14 | 0:12:18
I remember that week so vividly
because we had been in the dance of | 0:12:18 | 0:12:22
the week before. It was just a case
of, get to Blackpool, no matter the | 0:12:22 | 0:12:27
score, just get to Blackpool. It was
relief. And things can change after | 0:12:27 | 0:12:31
that. We are just past halfway. The
journey is still there, the glass is | 0:12:31 | 0:12:37
half full. Loads still to come. | 0:12:37 | 0:12:39
I know you've been following this
series very closely - | 0:12:39 | 0:12:42
so let's talk about some
of your findings. | 0:12:42 | 0:12:45
Let's have a look at the overall
Leaderboard. We have the remaining | 0:12:45 | 0:12:48
couples here. Even though Susan and
Kevin and Jonnie and Oti are at the | 0:12:48 | 0:12:54
bottom, it is not very distant in
points to the top considering we've | 0:12:54 | 0:12:57
had more than eight weeks of dances.
But Alexander and Debbie have | 0:12:57 | 0:13:03
consistently been excellent and the
scores relate to that. -- Alexandra. | 0:13:03 | 0:13:10
Everybody has been awesome. | 0:13:10 | 0:13:13
So, only three boys left
in the competition. | 0:13:13 | 0:13:15
Let's start with the combined
highest scorer of the three - Joe. | 0:13:15 | 0:13:20
What have you noticed? | 0:13:20 | 0:13:25
Joe has been fantastic. Consistent
all-rounder. He opened up with the | 0:13:25 | 0:13:28
drive, which was fantastic. He had
to the rumba, which bizarrely was | 0:13:28 | 0:13:33
the same time last series last year
as me, and he is mirroring me well. | 0:13:33 | 0:13:40
-- he opened up with the jive. Their
charleston was really good, 36, | 0:13:40 | 0:13:47
really good. He has some tens as
well. His last three weeks have been | 0:13:47 | 0:13:54
in the 30s. Consistency from Mr
McFadden. | 0:13:54 | 0:13:58
Shirley has
called him the dark | 0:13:58 | 0:13:59
horse of the competition. | 0:13:59 | 0:14:01
Do you agree with her? | 0:14:01 | 0:14:03
I say no. It's not a dark course,
using the top three. He's a bright | 0:14:03 | 0:14:08
horse, he's a unicorn. He has been
great. | 0:14:08 | 0:14:15
Moving onto the comeback
kid - Davood. | 0:14:15 | 0:14:21
When he was in the bottom two I said
not to worry because remember Ore. | 0:14:21 | 0:14:28
The high-scoring charleston, I get
distracted by his pecs. He's a | 0:14:28 | 0:14:33
beautiful boy. I'm amazed by the
soap actors because of the hours | 0:14:33 | 0:14:39
they spend doing their show. And
then to pull this out, 38 on the | 0:14:39 | 0:14:44
charleston was fantastic. And part
of the ten club as well. He's a bit | 0:14:44 | 0:14:49
more of a ballroom boy. I don't
think he has had 30 in Latin. If | 0:14:49 | 0:14:54
anything is holding him back, it's
probably that. But with his wingspan | 0:14:54 | 0:14:57
as broad as that, he can do
anything. Wingspan, never heard that | 0:14:57 | 0:15:03
before. Like it. | 0:15:03 | 0:15:04
Let's move onto our final gentleman
- Mr Jonnie Peacock. | 0:15:06 | 0:15:12
He's only 24. He is still so young,
but so much work. He hasn't reached | 0:15:12 | 0:15:17
the heights of some of the others
and has only been in the dirty club | 0:15:17 | 0:15:21
a couple of times, so at this point
he has to start improving his | 0:15:21 | 0:15:25
scores. -- the 30 club. But that was
a reminder of what that guy can do. | 0:15:25 | 0:15:34
It was absolutely awesome. And you
can see the thriller on his face. Do | 0:15:34 | 0:15:38
you think he has something to prove
in Blackpool? He has two bounce back | 0:15:38 | 0:15:43
but if you're going to rise to the
occasion, it is going to happen in | 0:15:43 | 0:15:46
Blackpool. OK, we will discuss the
ladies in a moment. | 0:15:46 | 0:15:50
So we've hit half time
mark in Ore's Overview, | 0:15:50 | 0:15:52
but there's plenty more
to get through tonight. | 0:15:52 | 0:15:56
He's the champion! We have a big
Friday coming up. | 0:15:56 | 0:16:06
Before we do, let's
take a look at all the | 0:16:06 | 0:16:08
behind the scenes
action from Strictly at | 0:16:08 | 0:16:10
the weekend. | 0:16:10 | 0:16:11
Medic! | 0:16:11 | 0:16:16
Another week, another dance. Made it
halfway and no one is safe. Any one | 0:16:16 | 0:16:24
of us could be in that dance-off. I
just got to make it to Blackpool. | 0:16:24 | 0:16:30
Let's do this! I was spun around
like a rag doll this week, so | 0:16:30 | 0:16:38
hopefully I will survive. It would
be a recipe for disaster if it | 0:16:38 | 0:16:44
doesn't go right. There was one
where you through the hat at me and | 0:16:44 | 0:16:48
it was like a frisbee coming at me.
Tango is passionate and intense and | 0:16:48 | 0:16:54
I didn't think I would get here,
never mind Blackpool, so to get to | 0:16:54 | 0:16:58
Blackpool would be brilliant,
wouldn't it? The make up always | 0:16:58 | 0:17:04
makes me feel confident. He's
getting his body out. If he comes on | 0:17:04 | 0:17:15
with a teacher, I would be worried.
Set the scene for Blackpool. White | 0:17:15 | 0:17:24
sandy beaches, endless sunshine.
None of that. I think this is very | 0:17:24 | 0:17:31
Blackpool. If we get to Blackpool,
we will get fish and chips on the | 0:17:31 | 0:17:38
pier and go on the rides on the
pleasure Beach. We need to get to | 0:17:38 | 0:17:42
Blackpool. Come on! Seal is here and
he has requested for me to dance, | 0:17:42 | 0:17:50
which is a lovely thing for him to
do. It is lovely when singers can | 0:17:50 | 0:17:55
dance. It is the boss here, Al, who
keeps a file in check. We have a big | 0:17:55 | 0:18:06
team of people who we work with. We
have a big team who are with us all | 0:18:06 | 0:18:10
series. Greg is the one who gets all
the limelight. Yes, it is a bit like | 0:18:10 | 0:18:15
having your own lap dog around the
place. OK, here we go. Ladies and | 0:18:15 | 0:18:21
gentlemen, five-minute! Showtime.
Who is going to make it through to | 0:18:21 | 0:18:34
Blackpool? I found the foxtrot very
hard this week. This is Strictly | 0:18:34 | 0:18:50
Come Dancing. That was lovely. We
were having a good old castle there. | 0:18:50 | 0:19:00
I'm back here with Ore! | 0:19:00 | 0:19:02
So we've talked about the boys,
but let's face it, there's a lot | 0:19:02 | 0:19:05
of Girl Power going on this year -
five ladies left. | 0:19:05 | 0:19:07
Fans might be interested
to know, at this stage last | 0:19:07 | 0:19:10
year, it was flipped -
five boys and only two girls! | 0:19:10 | 0:19:16
Bringing the sass, girls! | 0:19:16 | 0:19:17
What can you tell us
about our lovely | 0:19:17 | 0:19:19
ladies? | 0:19:19 | 0:19:22
Great to see the five of them still
bringing the girl power. Debbie is | 0:19:22 | 0:19:27
at the top of the leaderboard and
she has been awesome all series, | 0:19:27 | 0:19:31
along with Alexandra. Only six
points between them so it is tied. | 0:19:31 | 0:19:38
Shall we play a little game? Ooh, we
have spent the money. Debbie has | 0:19:38 | 0:19:45
managed to bag herself seven tens. | 0:19:45 | 0:19:58
And Alexander had eight. So even in
the tens, it is really tight. So | 0:20:00 | 0:20:07
could lovely Flexi McGee do it? I
loved that Ginger Rogers tribute | 0:20:07 | 0:20:13
with Giovanni. She has been top of
the leaderboard three times in a row | 0:20:13 | 0:20:19
before she did this dance this
weekend and I don't think anybody | 0:20:19 | 0:20:22
has done that before. No one has
ever had a perfect 40 in week seven. | 0:20:22 | 0:20:26
So the girl has been breaking
records. I know, she is smashing | 0:20:26 | 0:20:30
those records. Let's talk about
Alexandra. She is the Queen. So | 0:20:30 | 0:20:36
incredible this weekend. I needed
another cold shower after that. I | 0:20:36 | 0:20:43
have at least three a day. And she
is going to be doing a Quickstep | 0:20:43 | 0:20:48
that Black broke. I think that will
be awesome. What can you tell it | 0:20:48 | 0:20:51
about that? Believe it or not, last
time they only had seven, so they | 0:20:51 | 0:20:57
had been top drawer every time. I
think jive, cha-cha, Argentine | 0:20:57 | 0:21:04
Tango, consistently high. So you
might say Baldry and you may need to | 0:21:04 | 0:21:09
bring it but I think she has
ability, Alexandra. The Quickstep. | 0:21:09 | 0:21:16
With the bounce. It is going to be
something else. So Susan has been | 0:21:16 | 0:21:27
incredible. She is working so hard
and has a massive following. It is | 0:21:27 | 0:21:30
so exciting. Thanks for coining the
I am going to do at Ore, Susan. | 0:21:30 | 0:21:39
People haven't given me enough jip
for that! Everyone has loved Susan | 0:21:39 | 0:21:44
bringing the entertainment factor.
She is all about jiving in a | 0:21:44 | 0:21:49
glittery overalls. That it was a
serious moment. So even though they | 0:21:49 | 0:21:53
haven't necessarily scored as highly
as the rest of them, they are | 0:21:53 | 0:21:57
obviously getting audience back into
out and people really love seeing | 0:21:57 | 0:22:00
Kevin and Susan Susan and seeing
them in Blackpool again, that guy is | 0:22:00 | 0:22:06
in love with that place. That is the
BT started for the weekend. Let's | 0:22:06 | 0:22:12
talk about Mollie to. Her reaction
said it all. Bless her. The judges | 0:22:12 | 0:22:20
differ quite a hard time at the
weekend, so it is good to see. Yell, | 0:22:20 | 0:22:26
and it is so hard to bounce back
from being in the dance-off and I | 0:22:26 | 0:22:29
think she would have been
crestfallen had that been three | 0:22:29 | 0:22:32
weeks in a row so this is the chance
now, you have been given a reprieve | 0:22:32 | 0:22:36
so I want to see Mollie and AJ bring
it in Blackpool as well. I notice | 0:22:36 | 0:22:41
the Charleston. That was the one
where I was a weird werewolf... It | 0:22:41 | 0:22:51
was an amazing marriage of styles.
It worked so well I nearly dropped. | 0:22:51 | 0:22:58
Let's talk about Gemma. She had a
hard time at the beginning. Can she | 0:22:58 | 0:23:02
get back into it? She absolutely can
because if you remember when they | 0:23:02 | 0:23:06
did their paso doble and it is that
channelling that they really need to | 0:23:06 | 0:23:10
bring in Blackpool because she was
so fierce. They just need to | 0:23:10 | 0:23:15
remember. That face. Look at the
intensity that you can see. I know | 0:23:15 | 0:23:21
that they are loving training in
Manchester and you can see to that | 0:23:21 | 0:23:24
performance just how much chemistry
that they have. Even though they | 0:23:24 | 0:23:31
have had seven times... 12 times.
Forget that. So that is the | 0:23:31 | 0:23:41
statistic to remember. Before we go,
I had to wish you good luck because | 0:23:41 | 0:23:46
this man, the champion, will be
dancing again for your delegation, | 0:23:46 | 0:23:50
people. And he will be singing a
Gene Kelly number four Children in | 0:23:50 | 0:23:56
Need. I can't wait, but it is all
for Children in Need, and this is me | 0:23:56 | 0:24:02
getting behind it so whatever you
can do to fundraisers, do it. | 0:24:02 | 0:24:06
Hopefully see you for another
surprise on Friday night. Good luck, | 0:24:06 | 0:24:10
Ore. It is going to be incredible! | 0:24:10 | 0:24:13
Time now to meet my final guests. | 0:24:13 | 0:24:15
Their emotional tango
lit up the dance | 0:24:15 | 0:24:17
floor and ticked all
the right boxes on | 0:24:17 | 0:24:19
Saturday night - it's
our firecrackers, Susan | 0:24:19 | 0:24:20
and Kevin. | 0:24:20 | 0:24:27
MUSIC PLAYS: Firework by Katy Perry.
You did every single step at | 0:24:27 | 0:24:33
precisely the right time. Your
posture is the main thing that | 0:24:33 | 0:24:39
bothers me, and your face did look
in pain. I think you'd asked | 0:24:39 | 0:24:43
everything right from your heart
today. From week one to this one, | 0:24:43 | 0:24:47
you have made huge strides. | 0:24:47 | 0:24:51
It's Susan and Kevin! | 0:24:51 | 0:24:52
Forget about fireworks -
Baby, you're a | 0:24:52 | 0:24:54
tango dancer! | 0:24:54 | 0:24:58
That was amazing stuff. | 0:24:58 | 0:24:59
How was opening the show? | 0:24:59 | 0:25:04
It was so exciting. We've never
opened the show before. I was in a | 0:25:04 | 0:25:08
beautiful dress and my make-up was
extraordinary. Kevin was in his | 0:25:08 | 0:25:11
tales, which is my favourite look.
And it was wonderful. Just opening | 0:25:11 | 0:25:16
the show with a tangle. You didn't
ask for more from Strictly Come | 0:25:16 | 0:25:20
Dancing. | 0:25:20 | 0:25:20
We could see you
getting teary - when | 0:25:20 | 0:25:22
did the emotion hit you? | 0:25:22 | 0:25:26
It was going really well and the
audience were starting to go and buy | 0:25:26 | 0:25:29
the end of it, you could almost see
the emotion bubble up. It is a | 0:25:29 | 0:25:34
strange thing because I haven't
danced before it and so I did not | 0:25:34 | 0:25:38
expect to feel emotions dancing. I
am a very emotional person. Kevin | 0:25:38 | 0:25:41
knows that. I don't think there is
anything wrong with being emotional | 0:25:41 | 0:25:44
because that is what is dance is. We
were watching the Remembrance Day | 0:25:44 | 0:25:48
dance and that was emotional and I
have been taken aback by how it is | 0:25:48 | 0:25:52
affecting me, it is actually the act
of dancing. It is a very emotional | 0:25:52 | 0:25:56
thing. I am not going to stop doing
it because I think it is quite nice. | 0:25:56 | 0:26:02
It really is. I anti-ring up,
watching it at home. Kevin, you | 0:26:02 | 0:26:06
promised us a proper tangle. You
must have been so happy that Susan | 0:26:06 | 0:26:10
did so brilliantly. It was a real
gamble for us because we have been | 0:26:10 | 0:26:15
doing light and fun and joy us where
we can kind of smile our way through | 0:26:15 | 0:26:19
all the time and this was a real
gamble, doing something serious. It | 0:26:19 | 0:26:24
was all content. There was no
gimmick to it so the only thing the | 0:26:24 | 0:26:27
judges could look at and comment on
was her dancing and techniques or I | 0:26:27 | 0:26:30
said last week that I was adamant
that I want people to see Susan for | 0:26:30 | 0:26:35
the dancer that she is and not just
somebody fun on the show and she | 0:26:35 | 0:26:38
went out and showed it to everybody
and I am so proud of her. She is a | 0:26:38 | 0:26:41
dancer. She is a dancer!
CHEERING | 0:26:41 | 0:26:47
And strong comments from the judges. | 0:26:47 | 0:26:49
Bruno said he expected
you to go off but you | 0:26:49 | 0:26:51
did every step at exactly
the precise time. | 0:26:51 | 0:26:53
How did it feel to prove him wrong? | 0:26:53 | 0:26:56
I think Bruno was slightly confused
by me for several weeks and I didn't | 0:26:56 | 0:27:00
feel like he was getting me. I don't
think he was entirely sure. And | 0:27:00 | 0:27:04
Craig, every week I am chipping away
at him. I think if the show was a | 0:27:04 | 0:27:09
year-long, I would get a ten. If I
had another year with Craig, I would | 0:27:09 | 0:27:14
get there. So you're going to
Blackpool. How excited are you about | 0:27:14 | 0:27:23
that? It is wonderful. It was
difficult in the Results Show | 0:27:23 | 0:27:27
because we were second and when
you're in that position and the red | 0:27:27 | 0:27:31
light goes on someone, you don't
want to celebrate because somebody | 0:27:31 | 0:27:33
is going to the dance-off, so we
were really pleased but it was quite | 0:27:33 | 0:27:38
difficult because Ruth and Anton
have been so wonderful on the show. | 0:27:38 | 0:27:41
It is horrible when you see that
happening. But, yeah, Blackpool, | 0:27:41 | 0:27:46
baby! I'm a sticky back in time. -- | 0:27:46 | 0:27:59
Well, let me cast you're
mind back to Tuesday | 0:27:59 | 0:28:01
the 19th of September
at | 0:28:01 | 0:28:02 | |
precisely 10.52am,
when you tweeted this... | 0:28:02 | 0:28:10
I know you are a woman of your
words. Which is funny because we | 0:28:10 | 0:28:15
have Carl year from the tattooed...
Are you going to do this? Yes, I am | 0:28:15 | 0:28:21
going to get him to write I love
green is the and put it on my best | 0:28:21 | 0:28:25
foot which is my right foot. I'm
going to get it done after the show | 0:28:25 | 0:28:31
is over. I love Grimsby on my foot,
as I promised. I promise that I | 0:28:31 | 0:28:41
would get this turned into I love
Grimsby on my hand as well. It is | 0:28:41 | 0:28:46
amazing. Very quickly, you have
waited five years to get this | 0:28:46 | 0:28:52
concept on the show. Yes, we are
doing Strictly ballroom and I have | 0:28:52 | 0:28:56
wanted to do this. I have a very
specific idea in my head and I have | 0:28:56 | 0:28:59
been pitching it for five years. I
know it is risky to do it on TV and | 0:28:59 | 0:29:03
I am not sure about it and they said
this year if we got to Blackpool we | 0:29:03 | 0:29:08
would be allowed to do it and we are
doing it. | 0:29:08 | 0:29:10
CHEERING
Good luck, Susan and Kevin, or | 0:29:10 | 0:29:15
should I say Fran and Scott. It is
going to be amazing. | 0:29:15 | 0:29:21
Join us tomorrow at 6.30,
where we'll chatting | 0:29:21 | 0:29:23
to Joe & Katya and Gemma & | 0:29:23 | 0:29:25
Aljaz. | 0:29:25 | 0:29:26
All that, plus Boagy is back! | 0:29:26 | 0:29:28
Erin Boag will be casting her
eye over our couples | 0:29:28 | 0:29:30
choreography. | 0:29:30 | 0:29:31 |
