Live from London, this is Strictly:
It Takes Two. Here is your host, Zoe | 0:00:52 | 0:00:58
Ball!
CHEERING AND APPLAUSE | 0:00:58 | 0:01:01
Hello and welcome to It Takes Two! | 0:01:01 | 0:01:03
Some viewers may be surprised
to learn that Strictly went | 0:01:03 | 0:01:05
to Blackpool at the weekend. | 0:01:05 | 0:01:07
It's true. | 0:01:07 | 0:01:08
We kept it very quiet this year! | 0:01:08 | 0:01:10
On Saturday night, the class
of 2017 illuminated | 0:01:10 | 0:01:12
the Tower Ballroom and produced
some real show-stoppers. | 0:01:12 | 0:01:16
Alexandra and Gorka were right
on the money, climbing | 0:01:16 | 0:01:18
to the top of the Leaderboard. | 0:01:18 | 0:01:23
Gemma and Aljaz took
a tram to Ten-Town! | 0:01:23 | 0:01:27
But one couple's light had to go
out, and sadly Jonnie | 0:01:27 | 0:01:29
and Oti were eliminated
from the competition. | 0:01:29 | 0:01:35
But it's OK, because the Blackpool
Fun Bus has brought them home to us. | 0:01:35 | 0:01:39
And we can't let them go
without a big send-off. | 0:01:39 | 0:01:44
Aw! | 0:01:44 | 0:01:46 | |
Joining them tonight,
it's Blackpool's favourite | 0:01:46 | 0:01:47
ravers, Joe and Katya. | 0:01:47 | 0:01:56
But first up, if there's one thing
we love here at It Takes Two, | 0:01:56 | 0:01:59
it's a behind-the-scenes look-see. | 0:01:59 | 0:02:00
So nothing could stop our film
crew from capturing all | 0:02:00 | 0:02:02
the fun of the seaside. | 0:02:02 | 0:02:05
Blackpool, baby! | 0:02:11 | 0:02:15
When I walked in this morning I got
two goals, I got goose bumps, it was | 0:02:20 | 0:02:25
unbelievable. Everything is big
about Blackpool, the ballroom, the | 0:02:25 | 0:02:30
performances... And the scores!
Today... So cool. I'm James Bond | 0:02:30 | 0:02:42
this week and after that I'm feeling
a bit shaken and a bit stirred. This | 0:02:42 | 0:02:49
is where they dance with their
hearts rather than trying to get | 0:02:49 | 0:02:52
points from the judges! That's
Blackpool! Everyone is smashing it. | 0:02:52 | 0:02:59
We've been watching rehearsals. I'm
proud of everyone. | 0:02:59 | 0:03:05
There's so much to remember that
while my make up is being done by | 0:03:07 | 0:03:14
watching my rehearsal from yesterday
and making sure the routine is | 0:03:14 | 0:03:16
really in my head. It definitely
feels like one big family holiday! | 0:03:16 | 0:03:21
Everybody is just buzzing! Believe
it or not, this is my first time in | 0:03:21 | 0:03:26
Blackpool. I've never been up the
tower. Let's go up now. 'S do it! | 0:03:26 | 0:03:34
This is really cool! Wow! Look at
this! Can you see that? Nice to see | 0:03:34 | 0:03:46
you, to see you nice!
Everyone is getting their final | 0:03:46 | 0:03:53
touch-up. Looking sexy in a vest!
Thank you! Like many of the boys on | 0:03:53 | 0:04:07
the show, unlike Anton, I have hairs
on my chest! | 0:04:07 | 0:04:11
Good timing! I'm not here, I'm not
here! | 0:04:36 | 0:04:42 | |
Blackpool, are you ready?
CHEERING AND APPLAUSE | 0:04:47 | 0:04:54
This is Strictly Come Dancing!
The magic! Wasn't it amazing? | 0:05:03 | 0:05:10
At the weekend, Jonnie
and Oti were transported | 0:05:10 | 0:05:12
into the Tower Ballroom
for a futuristic techno | 0:05:12 | 0:05:14
tango that sadly proved
to be ahead of its time. | 0:05:14 | 0:05:17
Before we say our final farewells,
here's their last dance. | 0:05:17 | 0:05:24
Jonnie and Oti! Oh! You two...
Millions and millions of people... | 0:05:48 | 0:06:00
They love it! Millions are
absolutely gutted to say goodbye to | 0:06:00 | 0:06:06
you. Such a joy. Prince Jonnie,
Queen Oti. How are you feeling after | 0:06:06 | 0:06:13
the whole event? Good. I've had a
great time and I've got so much | 0:06:13 | 0:06:17
further than I expected. I remember
in week one or two, she could not | 0:06:17 | 0:06:22
stop telling me off the same, I just
want to get to week six. She said, | 0:06:22 | 0:06:29
no, week nine can be your goal! So I
more than happy. I tell you what, | 0:06:29 | 0:06:35
going out in the Tower Ballroom with
that crowd, those lights, that | 0:06:35 | 0:06:40
performance. Bid if feel already
special? Like I say, it was | 0:06:40 | 0:06:48
incredible to get that far. Really
incredible. And to this person, who | 0:06:48 | 0:06:53
has managed to give me some amazing
choreography... Oti, she is one of | 0:06:53 | 0:06:59
the best, isn't she? I have to say,
mixed comments from the judges | 0:06:59 | 0:07:05
afterwards but let's just remember,
Craig said he loved, loved, loved | 0:07:05 | 0:07:09
it, Jonnie! Never forget those
words. How much fun with it to put | 0:07:09 | 0:07:14
that piece together? It was so much
fun. My goal was to get to | 0:07:14 | 0:07:20
Blackpool. He kept saying six, but I
said, listen, I am going to be on | 0:07:20 | 0:07:25
that train to Blackpool and you are
going to be on it whether you like | 0:07:25 | 0:07:28
it or not expect you will be with
me! And then we said, we are here, | 0:07:28 | 0:07:34
it doesn't matter what anybody says,
let's just go out and enjoy it and | 0:07:34 | 0:07:39
give the best we can. And that's
what we did. I was so proud of him | 0:07:39 | 0:07:43
because he enjoyed it. You could see
how thrilled you were. Also the joy | 0:07:43 | 0:07:48
of dancing with your husband! Marius
was there. Yeah! How was it to dance | 0:07:48 | 0:08:02
with the two men in your life? Lucky
you! My husband is everything to me. | 0:08:02 | 0:08:09
So amazing. I think he was there for
moral support, and also in the | 0:08:09 | 0:08:13
dance-off, he said, you know what,
just giving you the best at -- | 0:08:13 | 0:08:20
anniversary present ever. Wedding
anniversary as well! You could see | 0:08:20 | 0:08:24
how proud he was of view. That was
beautiful. How did the dance field | 0:08:24 | 0:08:29
this time? Did it feel easier,
different? I think it was easier. | 0:08:29 | 0:08:34
You know what you are in for. So you
just try to enjoy it, and Blackpool, | 0:08:34 | 0:08:41
a great dance, I really enjoyed it.
Again, you just try to use what the | 0:08:41 | 0:08:45
judges have said and try to improve.
And obviously going up against | 0:08:45 | 0:08:49
somebody like Debbie, who is an
incredible dancer, I knew probably | 0:08:49 | 0:08:52
what was going to happen! So I just
had to try to enjoy it as much as | 0:08:52 | 0:08:57
possible. And you did and it was
glorious. An interesting fact for | 0:08:57 | 0:09:02
you all, you might be surprised or
comforted to know week nine is | 0:09:02 | 0:09:06
notorious for sporting heroes. It is
when they all go. These guys have | 0:09:06 | 0:09:11
all fallen at the week nine hurdle,
so you are in great company. | 0:09:11 | 0:09:16
Gorgeous Kenny Logan, way back in
series five. Phil Tuffnell went out | 0:09:16 | 0:09:20
in series seven. Michael Vaughan,
say week -- same week. Ben Cohen. | 0:09:20 | 0:09:29
And another one, Greg Rutherford,
whose bottom they loved! Does that | 0:09:29 | 0:09:35
help a bit? I read a story saying I
was really worried about the | 0:09:35 | 0:09:44
sportsman's curse. I didn't know
what it was but maybe I should have! | 0:09:44 | 0:09:47
It has been such an epic journey, to
use that word. I think you are going | 0:09:47 | 0:09:53
to be really pleased when you see
this put together. Here is your | 0:09:53 | 0:09:56
story. Strictly is busy so far
removed from my athletics. I'm just | 0:09:56 | 0:10:02
going to try to finish as close to
that finish line as I can get. Being | 0:10:02 | 0:10:10
partnered with the first Paralympian
on Strictly is such an honour. Are | 0:10:10 | 0:10:14
you excited? Scared! Jonnie and I
will be dancing a waltz. Right now | 0:10:14 | 0:10:23
it is putting one foot in front of
the other and not falling! That | 0:10:23 | 0:10:29
continuous pivoting, that is an
incredibly difficult turn to do. | 0:10:29 | 0:10:34
Week one! That's it! This is a way
for me to help them come forward and | 0:10:34 | 0:10:42
show what fun he is because he is
quite shy. I just want to put on a | 0:10:42 | 0:10:48
good show. You are fabulous out
there! | 0:10:48 | 0:10:55
The paso, it is just a whole-body
thing. I'm quite nervous about it. | 0:10:55 | 0:11:01
He's a lot hard on himself than he
needs to be. Jonnie can take me | 0:11:01 | 0:11:05
anywhere! A brilliant job! He's
gaining a bit more confidence. He's | 0:11:05 | 0:11:14
starting to believe in himself a bit
more. There was so much going right | 0:11:14 | 0:11:22
there. I really loved it. It was a
wonderful, wonderful routine. | 0:11:22 | 0:11:30
Progress, progress! We are getting
there! Gosh, you make that look | 0:11:30 | 0:11:35
easy! All the elements of dance are
coming together. I thought you were | 0:11:35 | 0:11:40
outstanding. We got our first nine!
I think secretly he loves shaking | 0:11:40 | 0:11:47
his hips. I can see a smile in the
corner of his face! I think it's | 0:11:47 | 0:11:55
fair to say Oti has been the most
important person in my journey. She | 0:11:55 | 0:11:59
sees potential and she will
challenge you and it always pays off | 0:11:59 | 0:12:02
on Saturday night. There are some
dances that suit you and some don't. | 0:12:02 | 0:12:09
It was very stumpy and flat-footed
throughout. Not your best dance but | 0:12:09 | 0:12:14
I know you are a fighter and it will
come back -- you will come back next | 0:12:14 | 0:12:18
week. I thought the lifts were
spectacular! You have no fear and | 0:12:18 | 0:12:24
that attitude is fabulous. Keep it
up. This week we have the foxtrot. | 0:12:24 | 0:12:30
We're back to ballroom, which is
great. Is more his thing. This | 0:12:30 | 0:12:37
stance requires an incredible amount
of control. You are trying hard to | 0:12:37 | 0:12:40
get it right. Having to go into the
dance-off was not a nice feeling. I | 0:12:40 | 0:12:49
choose to save Jonnie and Oti. We've
just got to try to do this weekend | 0:12:49 | 0:12:54
as best as possible. Your focus -
thank you so much! I loved routine. | 0:12:54 | 0:13:01
I'm going to save Debbie and
Giovanni. I want to thank each and | 0:13:01 | 0:13:09
every of you for judge me as I
equal. Jonnie is an inspiration. If | 0:13:09 | 0:13:19
you put your mind to it you can
achieve it. | 0:13:19 | 0:13:23
Oh! Thing you thank the judges for
judging you as an equal, that was so | 0:13:23 | 0:13:31
important. Yes, one of the things
that made me anxious about coming on | 0:13:31 | 0:13:36
the show was that they always looked
at me like everyone else, and they | 0:13:36 | 0:13:42
saw problems and called me up on
those problems. I didn't have any | 0:13:42 | 0:13:46
excuses because I try not to have
any for myself. Even Oti, she will | 0:13:46 | 0:13:53
try to make me point that toe, even
if I can't! | 0:13:53 | 0:13:57
LAUGHTER
The thing is, your posture has been | 0:13:57 | 0:14:02
so critiqued on the show. Lots of
talk about your bum! It's got its | 0:14:02 | 0:14:07
own Twitter account! So many people
had an awful lot to say about that, | 0:14:07 | 0:14:14
especially this weekend. What's your
take on it? I think we knew the | 0:14:14 | 0:14:18
tango would be a difficult dance
when it came to posture. I think | 0:14:18 | 0:14:22
being in a slightly sunken position,
you know, it is a challenge in the | 0:14:22 | 0:14:26
gym anyway, to squat down, so we get
around it in different exercises, so | 0:14:26 | 0:14:32
we all knew the tango would be
slightly different. We just try to | 0:14:32 | 0:14:35
look at the bigger picture to try to
fix everything else. I think it was | 0:14:35 | 0:14:41
probably better in the dance-off
than it was for the first one. It | 0:14:41 | 0:14:44
was amazing in the dance-off! I was
just sitting there, like, yes! He's | 0:14:44 | 0:14:50
doing this! Keep going! And, Oti,
you were saying Jonnie has been just | 0:14:50 | 0:14:58
such an inspiration. How has he
inspired you? Well, he's to be | 0:14:58 | 0:15:03
patience. I'll start there! But
we've worked hard and I think with | 0:15:03 | 0:15:09
every season you get different
partners and I've had to learn and | 0:15:09 | 0:15:12
get to know him and just... I think
I'm going to cry now. I've had to | 0:15:12 | 0:15:21
adjust and learned him and his
personality and how he works, and he | 0:15:21 | 0:15:27
such a lovely person, you really
feel like you have somebody taking | 0:15:27 | 0:15:30
care of you, and he worked hard, he
really wanted to work hard. I | 0:15:30 | 0:15:34
remember we were talking about the
legs especially and there were | 0:15:34 | 0:15:38
things we were going to sacrifice
but it was the bigger picture and | 0:15:38 | 0:15:42
what he stood for and who he was on
the show, and I think that came | 0:15:42 | 0:15:45
across, and we went out in
Blackpool, and that was the goal. | 0:15:45 | 0:15:49
I'm so happy and I'm so happy I got
to meet you! Isil you're my best | 0:15:49 | 0:15:54
friend now for ever! Friends for
life! Now I'm not going to get hold | 0:15:54 | 0:16:00
off! Very quickly, who July to win,
Jonnie? Aston! -- who would you like | 0:16:00 | 0:16:10
to win? | 0:16:10 | 0:16:15
The remaining couples, I love
Davood, he is a non-dancer and he | 0:16:15 | 0:16:21
has improved. You've been such an
inspiration, amazing partnership, we | 0:16:21 | 0:16:28
adore the two of you, Jonnie and
Oti. | 0:16:28 | 0:16:31 | |
CHEERING AND APPLAUSE. Big, big
love! | 0:16:31 | 0:16:37 | |
Now, for this weekend's opening
number, Strictly went to the Circus. | 0:16:37 | 0:16:40
And I'm sure you'll agree
it was a Cirque de Triumph. | 0:16:40 | 0:16:42
As one of the series'
most ambitious routines, | 0:16:42 | 0:16:45
we followed Jason Gilkison every
step of the creative process. | 0:16:45 | 0:16:50
We love you, Jonnie!
The opening dance at Blackpool is | 0:16:50 | 0:16:57
one of the biggest production
numbers of the Strictly season and | 0:16:57 | 0:17:01
it is one of the most exciting shows
and we try to make it bigger and | 0:17:01 | 0:17:04
better each year than the one
before. This week, we saw the | 0:17:04 | 0:17:09
celebrities and professionals pull
off a spectacular circus routine but | 0:17:09 | 0:17:12
it was a long road and it all began
six weeks ago. The first thing me | 0:17:12 | 0:17:20
and my choreography do is sit down
and brainstorm ideas. I have got a | 0:17:20 | 0:17:25
lot of ideas about what I think we
could do. I would love it to be a | 0:17:25 | 0:17:30
ballroom number. Eight couples to
work with which looks like this many | 0:17:30 | 0:17:33
people. In our planning meetings, we
use sweets to represent the dances | 0:17:33 | 0:17:38
and plot out the routine.
That is what we are dealing with, we | 0:17:38 | 0:17:43
need to work out something the
celebrities can learn in two hours. | 0:17:43 | 0:17:47
We don't know who is going to be in
Blackpool, it could be any of these | 0:17:47 | 0:17:52
guys, to be honest. The next
fingers, what does this number look | 0:17:52 | 0:17:55
like? What is big in Blackpool?
Pleasure Beach, illuminations. Candy | 0:17:55 | 0:18:01
floss. Is that a circus? In the
Tower? Think it is. We have never | 0:18:01 | 0:18:09
done that at Blackpool, a circus,
the celebs can be the main | 0:18:09 | 0:18:12
attraction, that our thing. It is
going to be amazing. | 0:18:12 | 0:18:18
With the circus be decided, it's
time to start putting the routine | 0:18:18 | 0:18:20
together.
Week later, I gather the pro and we | 0:18:20 | 0:18:25
put together some ideas. That is
working out, you three continue to | 0:18:25 | 0:18:32
go around again and you run into the
line and he does a lift with you in | 0:18:32 | 0:18:36
the centre. Yes, that is the
direction it has to go. | 0:18:36 | 0:18:42
I want one female celebrity to play
the role of the tightrope walker. | 0:18:42 | 0:18:48
Katya and the boys devise how to
make this happen. | 0:18:48 | 0:18:52
That is really good, one more time.
The number is starting to come | 0:18:52 | 0:18:57
together but the week before
Blackpool, they've the extra | 0:18:57 | 0:19:00
challenge of incorporating the
celebrities into the routine and | 0:19:00 | 0:19:02
right now, we do not know who is
going to get through. | 0:19:02 | 0:19:06
It is not just the choreography that
has to be planned in advance, the | 0:19:06 | 0:19:10
set design team works out how to
turn the Blackpool Tower into a big | 0:19:10 | 0:19:13
top and I meet with the costume team
to discuss ideas. | 0:19:13 | 0:19:16
We start in white, gold and black.
Yes, the fabric and the texture is | 0:19:16 | 0:19:22
going to be important.
It is the week of Blackpool, we | 0:19:22 | 0:19:28
finally can get started on this
because we know who the celebrities. | 0:19:28 | 0:19:32
They are catching up and learning
the choreography. And you throw it | 0:19:32 | 0:19:37
to Debbie and you give it a bit
of... | 0:19:37 | 0:19:40 | |
There is a lot of pressure being in
the House macro opening number, you | 0:19:40 | 0:19:44
have to really give it your best
shot. | 0:19:44 | 0:19:45 | |
I have butterflies already. It is
incredible, there is always lots of | 0:19:45 | 0:19:51
dancers and you are in the middle of
it. It is really scary, they say to | 0:19:51 | 0:19:55
do it gracefully, I'm just trying to
do it at all! It somehow works and | 0:19:55 | 0:20:01
it all comes together. The next time
we are together will be in the tower | 0:20:01 | 0:20:07
so fingers crossed they remember it,
I hope! It is the day before the big | 0:20:07 | 0:20:15
show and the first we time get to
try the routine out in the ballroom. | 0:20:15 | 0:20:20
There is a massive difference
between the rehearsal room and | 0:20:20 | 0:20:23
getting to come to this beautiful
ballroom in Blackpool, it ups the | 0:20:23 | 0:20:26
anti-.
As well as our dancers, we have | 0:20:26 | 0:20:31
circus performers to factor into the
routine today for the very first | 0:20:31 | 0:20:34
time.
When you are at the side, take a bit | 0:20:34 | 0:20:38
of space because it feels like
everybody is a bit cramped. | 0:20:38 | 0:20:43
It is really different to put this
on to the floor because everything | 0:20:43 | 0:20:46
is coming together for the first
time, the circus performers, the | 0:20:46 | 0:20:51
pros, the celebrities, the props.
And the props to make the number if | 0:20:51 | 0:20:54
we can make them work. All these
things that have to be so | 0:20:54 | 0:20:58
choreographed within an inch so
nobody gets injured. A tiny bit | 0:20:58 | 0:21:01
worried this has been a little over
ambitious but it would not be | 0:21:01 | 0:21:04
Strictly if we didn't push the
boundaries so let's see what | 0:21:04 | 0:21:07
happens!
It is finally show day, Strictly | 0:21:07 | 0:21:12
does Blackpool tonight.
There is nothing else we can do but | 0:21:12 | 0:21:14
watch from backstage.
Welcome to the greater show on | 0:21:14 | 0:21:18
Earth!
Sit back and enjoy it! | 0:21:18 | 0:21:20
Starting positions, please! Five,
four, three, two, one, cue the band! | 0:21:20 | 0:21:27
Ready. | 0:21:27 | 0:21:31
Good! Good! | 0:21:36 | 0:21:39
That is it, perfect!
I loved it! That could not have gone | 0:21:49 | 0:21:52
better. It is something very
special, six weeks of hard work, I'm | 0:21:52 | 0:21:57
so proud of them all! That was a
great moment. | 0:21:57 | 0:22:04
Jason, an absolute wonder. So good
to see it all come together. | 0:22:07 | 0:22:11
So good to see it all come together. | 0:22:11 | 0:22:13
Now, my next guests have a habit
of making a grand entrance, | 0:22:13 | 0:22:16
but I've got to admit I was a bit
worried about their | 0:22:16 | 0:22:19
time-keeping today. | 0:22:19 | 0:22:20
Luckily, it turns out they were... | 0:22:20 | 0:22:21
Ride on Time! | 0:22:21 | 0:22:22
Ride on Time! | 0:22:22 | 0:22:23
It's Joe and Katya! | 0:22:23 | 0:22:24
CHEERING AND APPLAUSE | 0:22:24 | 0:22:33
What a routine that was!
It was not as smooth as it could | 0:22:33 | 0:22:40
have been, but throughout, your
excitement and your attitude didn't | 0:22:40 | 0:22:42
fail. The lifts were well done, you
have the most amazing energy, good | 0:22:42 | 0:22:48
job today, Joe.
Joe and Katya! CHEERING AND | 0:22:48 | 0:22:56
APPLAUSE. Did you enjoyed your trip?
It is as it is -- as spectacular as | 0:22:56 | 0:23:13
these guys say and it is mind
blowing, it takes your breath away. | 0:23:13 | 0:23:17
And not in a scary way, it was
brilliant just being there and | 0:23:17 | 0:23:21
thinking of the other people who had
been there over the years and how | 0:23:21 | 0:23:24
lucky I was to still be here and
dancing in Blackpool. And the | 0:23:24 | 0:23:29
comment of the Tower Ballroom
writing a giant clock. In front of | 0:23:29 | 0:23:34
Graham Norton, Lenny Henry, JK
Rowling. Is it living up to | 0:23:34 | 0:23:41
expectations? It really is. I knew
that things would be bigger and | 0:23:41 | 0:23:47
better in Blackpool and they were.
I'm really terrified of heights. And | 0:23:47 | 0:23:51
they told me how I was entering and
I was like, OK! They said, did you | 0:23:51 | 0:23:57
ask about the heights? I said, no,
he will be fine. I told you and you | 0:23:57 | 0:24:03
are terrified! I thought, I'm not
going to say no because it was such | 0:24:03 | 0:24:06
a brilliant concept. It is fine and
I got it out of the way quickly. You | 0:24:06 | 0:24:10
would never have known! I would be
more terrified about what was to | 0:24:10 | 0:24:15
come. The last thing I shouted,
smile! So much love for you both | 0:24:15 | 0:24:19
online, incredible. | 0:24:19 | 0:24:21
Kitty Gallagher said: 'Now shimmying
around my kitchen going, 'Whoa! | 0:24:21 | 0:24:23
at the utensils thanks to Joe
and I regret nothing. | 0:24:23 | 0:24:29
Ride on Time for Xmas Number One'. | 0:24:29 | 0:24:35
Why with utensils involved? Yes,
dance like nobody is watching! | 0:24:35 | 0:24:40
Is that the sort | 0:24:40 | 0:24:41
of reaction you were hoping | 0:24:41 | 0:24:42
for when you dreamt this up? | 0:24:42 | 0:24:45
In Blackpool, we wanted a party
everybody wants to join. The first | 0:24:45 | 0:24:48
time we close the show and I wanted
to make it spectacular. And when I | 0:24:48 | 0:24:56
was putting together the show, I
wanted it to be better and bigger. I | 0:24:56 | 0:25:01
said, we are going to throw
everything at it and it that feel. | 0:25:01 | 0:25:05
It was amazing! Neon lights. The
costumes! My daughter Nellie wants | 0:25:05 | 0:25:12
me to teach her that. That was the
hardest, taking the balance. That | 0:25:12 | 0:25:16
looked scary. | 0:25:16 | 0:25:18
The judges were very impressed too,
awarding you your second-highest | 0:25:18 | 0:25:20
scores so far, 34 points. | 0:25:20 | 0:25:21
Darcey was raving about
the armography and legography. | 0:25:21 | 0:25:23
How challenging was
the routine to master? | 0:25:23 | 0:25:25
It's sort of was, but I enjoyed it.
We were looking at one of the early | 0:25:25 | 0:25:30
dancers, Poland macro, look at my
feet, is it like I have flippers on! | 0:25:30 | 0:25:36
-- jive. You pick up bits along the
way, hopefully, and we sort of just | 0:25:36 | 0:25:40
enjoyed it. From start to finish,
the arms, the ripples. It felt nice. | 0:25:40 | 0:25:47
It's not often we see our male
celebs getting lifted themselves. | 0:25:47 | 0:25:54
Did you like that moment when they
flipped you over? Yes, that was | 0:25:54 | 0:25:58
brilliant. I was surprised, I said,
you are going to be flipped. He | 0:25:58 | 0:26:04
said, yes, OK. Expected a different
reaction. Yes, it was amazing. And | 0:26:04 | 0:26:10
one of the moves we loved and we
can't stop doing, it is the Chest | 0:26:10 | 0:26:14
Pump. | 0:26:14 | 0:26:17 | |
And it seems neither could you. | 0:26:17 | 0:26:19
Take a look at this. | 0:26:19 | 0:26:22
Shake. That is it, that is better.
It is this. Shake it, shake it! That | 0:26:22 | 0:26:30
looks OK, doesn't it? It is not
exactly what it is meant to be. That | 0:26:30 | 0:26:37
really hurts!
My insides were jiggling around, | 0:26:37 | 0:26:41
don't do that after lunge. That is
the one move I thought I could do, | 0:26:41 | 0:26:46
but she said, no, you are doing it
wrong, I have been doing it for 20 | 0:26:46 | 0:26:50
years! You were doing it right there
in the audience last week. It is not | 0:26:50 | 0:26:55
circular, it is forward! And we
loved when you dropped her! Which | 0:26:55 | 0:27:01
was supposed to happen, that was not
a mistake. Thank you, judges, that | 0:27:01 | 0:27:05
was supposed to happen and it was
spectacular! Back to the ballroom in | 0:27:05 | 0:27:16
four weeks after the Foxtrot, how do
you feel about the quickstep? It is | 0:27:16 | 0:27:19
good. We have done most of the
routine on day one and that was | 0:27:19 | 0:27:23
unheard of before, it would take
three days to even get my head | 0:27:23 | 0:27:27
around it. It feels good and being
back in hold is nice, it is nice to | 0:27:27 | 0:27:31
be free because it is not so obvious
when you go wrong. There is somebody | 0:27:31 | 0:27:35
to push you around! It's a nice
feeling. We have done quite if you | 0:27:35 | 0:27:42
ballroom dances by now and things
are improving, naturally. And | 0:27:42 | 0:27:48
sometimes, I looked at him and he
goes, I know, I know. He is fixing | 0:27:48 | 0:27:53
himself now. Just one look and he
knows. I still make mistakes, but | 0:27:53 | 0:28:00
least I know it! Amazing! | 0:28:00 | 0:28:11
And also, you have the
Paso-Dobla-Thon. Last time, you had | 0:28:11 | 0:28:18
your first ten, excited? Yes, I
really am, it was fun to do, it felt | 0:28:18 | 0:28:23
nice, and I'm going to barge them
out of the way, that is the plan. | 0:28:23 | 0:28:28
Claim! Said, keep that shape
throughout and do not let anybody in | 0:28:28 | 0:28:33
our space! Good luck, I can't wait
to see you doing the paso again. You | 0:28:33 | 0:28:37
are brilliant. | 0:28:37 | 0:28:40
Joe and Katya, everyone! | 0:28:40 | 0:28:41
CHEERING AND APPLAUSE | 0:28:41 | 0:28:43
That's it for tonight. | 0:28:43 | 0:28:44
A big thank you to all my guests. | 0:28:44 | 0:28:46
Join us tomorrow at 6:30,
where we'll chatting | 0:28:46 | 0:28:54
to Davood and Nadiya,
and survivors of the Dance-Off, | 0:28:54 | 0:28:57
Debbie and Giovanni! | 0:28:57 | 0:28:58
Plus, Strictly favourite
Vincent Simone will be taking over | 0:28:58 | 0:29:00 |
