Episode 36 Strictly - It Takes Two

It's Monday, coming up on tonight's show, our dancing couples hit

Wembley. The Grant went out with a bang. Holly and Artem survived. And

Craig Revel Horwood is here to give us his take on the biggest Strictly

ever. And we'll reveal which of the male professional dancers will not

be performing Saturday. Live from Television Centre, this

is Strictly It Takes Two. Please welcome Zoe Ball.

Hello and welcome to It Takes Two. This weekend's team Strictly went

super size and took overwhelmably arena. We were spoilt rotten with a

truly spectacular extaf gapbz ya. I loved it! Russell and Flavia aimed

for the stars. They were sadly for the stars. They were sadly

catapulted out of the competition. Another of the male prodancers will

not be dancing this weekend. Joining me on the glitter phone to

tell all is Robin. Robin, are you okay. What has happened? I've

actually got a really bad infection in my right foot, which has caused

by foot to swell up like a balance lon. - balloon. I'm unable to stand

on it, or dance on it. When did it happen? I had a pain on my foot on

Friday, and I thought I banged it at Wembley. It was getting worse,

and starting to swell up. The adrenaline from the excitement of

Wembley kept me through, and kept me with the dancing. Saturday night

when I got home, it was up even more. And this morning it's worse.

What have you been told by the doctors? What is the official line?

Medical advice and doctor's advice is not to put weight on it, and

keep it raised for at least 48 hours to let it start to calm down

and the antibiotics will take a while to kick in. They are very

strong and making we moor poorly. Not allowed to dance on Saturday?

No. What will happen with training. The knight in shaipbg armour is

Cole - Martina Cole. He is coming to your rescue. He's coming to save

the day. I've spoken to him and Anita, and they will have a great

week together. He has taken advice from me, and will try and put it in

the job. I'm devastated it was a great weekend. I was so happy to

get through, for this to happen, the biggest come-down in the world.

Fingers crossed if brendon can get Anita through, you can take over!

Dropping like flies! In a couple of minutes, I'll be chatting to

Russell and Flavia. Here's a catch- up on the weekend. You opened the

show like it was your own rock concert. Full of gusto and energy.

life. The day before I knew I was going to go, I had an inkling. I

knew you would get upset. When Bruce said "you are a star" and I

had the spontaneous need to hug him. I knew he was going. In true show

business fashion we left them wanting more, and left on a high.

rocket man stunt may have at last made a Strictly fan of me. I almost

choked with joy. My hat almost went off. Flavia was like a ten-pin

thing. A man came on to try and save her from my helmet. I saw your

helmet through the back of shot. Were you scared. I wasn't. Until I

saw the play back in the afternoon, and realised I was coming on a tea

tray. I had no safety harness. He was just dangling. There I went out

an rocket. 6,500 people a standing ovation. It was wonderful. Thank

you everyone. We have decided at It Takes Two there's only one word

worthy summing up the Strictly experience. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow.

Wow. Wow. Wow. And I went rushing off. All they will have a - is have

a series of "would he, would he, would he". A good montage it would

make. It did make a good montage. Producers fee in the post. A whole

58p! Was it the technical side that let you down? The time ran out. We

were meant to go. Everyone is working so hard. They were doing 30

hours a day, no a week. It feels like it. Seeing some of my friends,

they look more jaded than I do. All my lovelyly sellen friends.

would you like to see win out of our buddies. I would like all of

them to win, they have put the same effort. I would like make-up team

and costume team to win, that is what makes the show. It is an

emsemi-bell piece. Everyone is so lovely. I'll miss the came radry.

And I'll miss you. Don't start me off. I want to make her cry. I want

to hug her. Here of your best bits. I had one dream and one wish when I

was asked to the Strictly Come Dancing, and that was to partner

Flavia. Russell is a big diva. Never says "no", never complains,

very enthusiastic. That was definitely the birth of something,

darling. It could not be camper if you tried. Flavia and I get closer

by the minute. Meant to be, in the stars... Dancing Queen you worked

tonight, definitely. You put the "boy" in flamboyant. This is the

fabulous number. Fabulous, wonderful, divine. Show business,

ballroom, what can't Russell do. would advice a more masculine

approach. I don't know what butch means really. Arrogant. You might

see a slightly different side to Russell. I'm not sure about the

butch. You have already become a Strictly legend. Russell is the

Samba. I've always done this kind of move. This is me I am the Samba.

When you came through the flame you caught your bum alight. You really

started dancing. You have turned hell into a camp heaven. This one

in particular is a combination of comedy and drama. What will be my

main challenge, I think keeping tight buttocks. It was Benny hill's

version... I'm so loving the American smooth. I want to go

twirling around like a thing posed. Immortal. I was so born to do this.

Dancing at Wembley is a dream come true. I'm just going to live it.

I'll not miss a moment of it. Definitely the best entrance on

Strictly. Revolutionary. The couple leaving tonight is Russell and

Flavia. It's like my godfather. Such an unbelievable generous great

man. He's like everybody's mum that looks after all the other

contestants and dancers. We'll miss him next week. It has been a

delight and pleasure. You're an inspiration, such a star and so

talented, and I know we'll be friends forever. So much to give.

can see everybody is nervous. petrified clearly. We'll only have

tell them how nervous we are. Otherwise they will freak out.

was it like? You look gorgeous tonight, darling. Thank you. What

was it like to open the show and fly through the rafters of Wembley?

I enjoyed it enormously. I was jealous of Lulu doing it, going

backwards. I only went slowly forward slowly. High to wear the

heinous wig, but he lent me his guitar. A member of my family

thought you were May! So many people deeply shocked by the

departure of Russell and Flavia. Some had to have counselling. Are

you shocked and surprised. thought the audience would keep him

in. I couldn't keep him in. He's very dance talented, we have never

had a sellen entertaining and at least put one foot in front of each

other and dance in time. It's a complete and absolute joy, and I

think a terrible loss. I'll miss him. The dancefloor six times

larger in Wembley. Would you think the weaker couples exposed. I think

it is exposing. It's really because of their nerves getting in the way.

People were making foolish mistakes. That's to do with the stress and

the pressure of the amount of people and dealing with the space

itself. It does throw you. People were under an enormous A pressure,

that's why silly little things went wrong. Let's start with Harry and

Aliona, loved the lifts and the stunts. The couple were lapping up

Harry. You said the hue teen had no groove. I don't mean it to be harsh.

I loved the lift. He missed out hip action. I saw he could do the hip

action. It was adrenaline on the night was making his back leg going

out too much. He was placing it too far back to get any sort of hip

action. That's from nerves. Playing it too big, rather than keeping it

underneath himself and getting rotation. It was a shame, it was

worth a lot more than I scored it. Jason and Kristina, how frustrating

was it for you. Jason never goes wrong and look what happened.

was the disaster of your mind going blank. On this occasion he tried to

kick the leg he was standing on, never a good add o idea. That

through him, if your weight is on the wrong leg and you try to kick

it you have had it. We were sat there judging and hoping and

praying we could - we could pull a ten out. Re- we really are. You're

willing them. It's a terrible shame. I can't give a ten unless it's

perfect. We must commend him on great recovery. Another drama. Poor

Bobby can't dance this weekend with Anita. Last week, it must have been

a huge relief to get through last week. She was genuinely shocked.

She won a lost audience votes because of last week. That was the

nail in Russell's coffin to be honest. It was a shame in that

routine her footwork wasn't as accurate it could have been. Muddy

and murky. She can improve it so much rather than kofg and opening.

I know she can do it. When you get nervous your legs don't move. Good

luck with brendon, rent a pro! have done nine series, and it's the

first time it happened. I bet he's at home filing his nails. How are

you doing little Bobby. He has man flu! No he has hurt himself. Alex

and James going from strength to strength. I think since I told her

off for the ghastly rumba, that was the turning point, and try and take

the criticism on board. I don't speak personally. I speak just as

the dance should be. And she's obviously listening, and obviously

putting the work in. And that's commendable and paying off. She has

really come a long way. If you consider her first weeks this is an

achievement. I hope she feels proud of herself. Lovely Chelsee and

Pasha. You were especially picky with Chelsee's hand placement

That's in the middle. It should be matching Pasha's. He's is going out

to the second. That I'm calling a second position. She was landing

here, no-man's-land. Either whack it up here or there. Especially

when they are doing the runs, it has to be a lovely long linear line.

Robbie opened the show. True satisfying satisfying style. Only a

five from you, what was it missing from you? It was flat-footed. It

was missing the steps really. There were lots of fabulous lifts. That

was a little bit of rough. thought it was a goner at that

point. If you are going to do a jump in second... One does a

preparation and hassle vation and whack it out with straight legs.

You can't have preparation and elevation,... He landed with his

body weight forward. You have to go up prepare, out and land. This

weekend Swingathon. I like this, it's crippling for the couples. I

adore. It's up to the judges to count them down. It's seven couples

dancing at the same time like a proper competition. One by one

they're selected or deselected to leave the floor. You can make it go

on forever! Couple number one please leave the floor, I love it!.

They get a tap on the shoulder. they get scores ranged one to seven,

that's added to the other scores to create a leader board. It really

has a lot of weight mind behind it. They don't really want to... I was

going to swear... Please don't. Muck it up. As Russell said his

final goodbyes, Holly and Artem were shaken but hopefully not

stirred by their appearance in the bottom two. Naughty! Fantastic

pirouette on the stairs. You're like a thoroughbred not just quite

broken into... What I like is the frific use of space. Because it was

so fast it did lose a bit of control. This morning you don't -

didn't know who you would be dancing with. That must have been

unsettling. The quickstep suits you. We got a standing ovation! We did.

I'm still shaking. That was nerve- wracking, I wish we could perform

to this lot every week. Please welcome Holly and Artem. Holly in

the past week you have had two partners and been in the bottom two

and survived an injury. You must be emotionally exhausted. The drama. I

was getting maybe too comfortable. It's really quite good. When Tess

read out your name and discovered you were in the bottom two, how

worried were you it was taxi run. said to Russell I think - thought I

would be in the bottom two. I didn't think we would go out but

did think we would be in the bottom two. When did you decide it was all

right to dance, going back to the dance injury. Saturday we made a

final decision. Were you in pain on the dancefloor. It's sore, it's

like any injury, it's not the pain like jive week but it's there.

don't need to lose any more men, please! The judges loved the

routine. They said you lost timing. I don't know if I lost timing. I

think I eventual - only hit his knee once. I got my steps down. We

were covering a lost floor. That must be hard to do, when you are

training you train in small rooms. We had to stop and start for each

of the four segments, which was annoying. Bruno described you as a

thoroughbred that had not been broken in yet. It's great, could

have been a mule. That means you're classy, and you have potential.

it! How is it going It's doing well. I like it. I wasn't excited about

it, but today was a nice day, we a little bit of fun. It came to me

quicker than uerbl. A relief. said at the weekend no lifts,

people will be penalised. Artem in true Artem style... I hate

controversial stuff. I'm usual one person that won't go into it. I

think it's unfair to most of the other couples who didn't do it

because they weren't allowed to. You put yourself... You have to

choose or url be penalise. The problem is they didn't penalise...

What you're saying is in your foxtrot there will be lifts? I've

never heard him talk to much in my life! We're out of time, that was a
