Episode 13 The Boss

Hello and welcome to The Boss,

the show where being in charge is the name of the game.

Our players will all be trying to become The Boss

and get their hands on the prize fund today.

Let's meet today's players.

Hi, I'm Allan. I'm a football MC from Bury.

I'm Val, a retired primary teacher from Lancashire.

I'm Amrick, I'm a singer from Kent.

I'm Karolina, a sales manager from Liverpool.

And I'm Chris, I'm a financial adviser from Belfast.

OK, the way the game works is simple.

Each of you has an equal chance to become The Boss and being The Boss

means you get to manage the workforce as best you can

to increase the prize fund.

But if anyone feels they could do better and wants to knock The Boss

out of the game, they can launch a Leadership Challenge.

Only by surviving until the end of the show

can you walk away with the cash.

It's like the Eurovision Song Contest -

it's all smiles and glamour on the outside,

but a complete catfight backstage.

So we need our first Boss of the show.

To decide who that is, we're going to see what you're made of.

You will face 90 seconds of quickfire questions.

The person who answers the most correctly

will have a very important decision to make.

I'm an area sales manager.

I sell insulation.

because I'm getting my house insulated next week, genuinely,

and I am fascinated. That's for another time.

Do you have a team that you're in charge of, Karolina?

Well, I did spend a bit of time in the TA as an officer

-in the making, so I'm hoping...

-OK, that's quite a big thing, Karolina.

I said, have you got any experience? "I was in the TA."

Well, that's some experience!

We'll see if I can delegate well.

I think I'm just quite manipulative anyway.

Do you know, you start off saying, "No, no, no, I'm manipulative,

"I was in the TA, I'm a triple threat."
