Episode 8 The Boss

Hello, and welcome to The Boss, the quiz show where being in control is

everything. All of our players will be trying to work their way to the

top, and get their hands on the thousands of pounds on offer today.

Let's meet the team.

Hi, I'm Chris, I'm a subsea engineer from Watford.

I'm Angie, a paramedic from Cardiff.

I'm Rowan, a film student from Stirling.

I'm Nikki, an HR consultant from London.

And I'm Mark, a retired teacher from Leicester.

OK, team, the way the game works is simple.

Each of you has an equal chance to become the Boss,

and being the Boss means you get to manage the team as best you can

to increase the prize fund.

But, if anyone feels they can do better and wants to launch a

Leadership Challenge, they can knock the Boss out of the game.

Only by surviving until the end of the show can you walk away with

the cash. Think of it like, right, you're all best friends,

and then you're all going to stab each other in the back, yeah?

Just a fun, fun game.

So, we need our first Boss of the show.

To decide who that is, we're going to see what you're made of.

You'll face 90 seconds of quickfire questions.

The person who answers the most correctly will have a very important

decision to make.

and to have a chance to take away the money, all you have to do,

Chris - it's very simple - is just be here at the end of the show.

You'll now face your Boss's Questions.

The better you do, the more you could win.

You'll have to answer five questions, and for every one you

get right, you'll move up one place on the money ladder.

A wrong answer, though, will see you move back down again.

Play well, and your team could be playing for £100 a question,

or a tough round could see them playing for just £10.

Mark got seven out of the nine questions right, but look at Rowan.

He did pretty well, didn't he?

Maybe a slight change, but that's kind of how I saw it,

so that's reaffirming.

a perfect round, you would have added £900 to the prize fund.

In fact, you actually added £600.

Well, now we come to the hard part as right now somebody is going to be

leaving the show.

I can tell you that the person you went to most, as we expected,

And Rowan and Nikki, four each.

My word. Well, you were playing for £100 a question,

so if we'd had a perfect round you would have added £1,000 to the

prize fund. In fact, you actually added... It was only £400, Chris.

That's not great, but it does mean that the total prize fund now stands

Well, it is the challenge to stay in the show and to play in The Final

with Angie, who is quietly standing,

hoping nobody notices she's still here,

and she can just walk away with the money at the end of the show.
