Hello all. One of my guests tonight are starringing in a big romantic

mood. So to get us in the music I have the ingredients of romance,

music, flowers, and a little glass of wine.

Hello. Hello all. Tonight on the show - all-singing, all-dancing,

all-gorgeous, Zac Efron is here! Star of Friends and Episodes, Matt

LeBlanc is on the show. And, brilliantly funny, Not Going Out

star Lee Mack is here. Plus we've got music from the fabulous Marina

and The Diamonds. And what an exciting time for my American

guests to be in the country. Exacty three months from today, it's the

start of the Olympics! There's a lot to live up to. The Beijing

Olympics had an Opening Ceremony that featured traditional Chinese

music and dancing with thousands of synchronised performers moving as

one. We've got a similar thing planned. It'll look better in the

stadium. The torch will be passed all around the country, until it

finally passes will you Hackney. The great thing is though, it's got

everyone in Britain, fitness crazy, hasn't it. There's some Brit

heading off to try out the running track. Here is the new running

track after they finished. Let get some guests on.

haven't met, but I sort of met you before. Well not really met... When

I was in America, with five years ago. That's where I was.

Yes. You too. I was in a studio, sort of car pack park to have this

meeting. You went past, on a golf buggy at the studio, I presume you

were making a show, or it was a very bad golf shot. I thought

you're on telly, I'm on telly, I waved, like that. Nothing.

Comeen, what do you xapt? After tonight. Zac, either way, your

friends use your fame like a joke, like a game? Oh gosh, they do. Yeah,

they do. We have a lot of fun, my friends mess with a lot. We can't

take it too seriously, they are the same dude, we drive around and if

I'm riding shot gun, if I pull up next to a bunch of girls in a car,

they roll down the window and turn on the High School Musical track. I

stare forward, like nothing, and see how long it takes them to

notice. Some say, great song, and go... And then my friend say, "Yeah

it's him". And then they look at me, and I say "no it's not". Then they

go "it is". When you guys do that, can I get in on that? I've no plans.

If we combine forces,... Don't touch me Zac Efron, I don't want to

go in your crapy little car. Having said that, I am free on Sunday and

Monday. You know what happened to me. It was a long time ago, we were

one or one, still shooting Friends, gridlock traffic. Nobody is going

anywhere, I look out the window and there's a girl, she's rocking out

to some song, one of the theme songs, number one on the radio, or

whatever. I put the window down to listen, and I realise what she's

listening to, she sees me, frameworks out, takes her foot off

the brake and slams into the next car. I can't go anywhere, so I put

the window up. I felt such an ass. Anyone else drinking? How do you

drink out of that. Wine, you spoke, I don't know. Listen, the luck

which one, you've just come from the premier, how was it? It was

phenomenonal. It is amazing. You guys have the best fans out here.

They're so supportive, thank you so much. The premier was great. It is

with based on a book by Nick later Sparkings, he wrote the Notebook,

what is the premise behind this one? I play Marine, who is in his

third tour in Iraq, and he finds this photograph out in the sand,

and when he goes to retrieve it, an IED goes off, just where he was

standing a moment before. Undoubtly, the finding of the picture saved

his life. When he get home, sort of a marine sevening for a purpose

back in society again. He decides that, maybe the reason he's here is

because of this girl. So he goes on a mission to find her and to

somehow thank her. That's how they meet and a love story ensues. It's

a lovely film. It is a proper romance. If you seen the Notebook

or Dear John, he doesn't shy away from the romance. In terms of being

a actor, are those difficult scenes, when you are expressing your love

in dramatic ways? When you read them on paper for the first time,

you go, oh, I'm going to have to say that. But, you know what, I've

say worse things in the moment and I think they worked. You know, and

it really does work. You're watching two people who had hard

pasts and they come together against all odds, are able to still

find love. It's a beautiful story. I was quite surprised, it gets

steamy, The Lucky One. It does. It was raurchier than I was expecting

it to be? Steamy or raunchy. know, they're not holding hands

Matt, that's what I'm saying? are they holding? Has your mum seen

it? Yes. I was at the premier and she was two seats away from me. I

was auck yard at the end of the scenes I'm down here. But I hear my

mum chuckling saying "that's my boy". It is not what you want to

hear after sex. "go on my son". Then my little brother is just

going (coughing). The studio was dead quiet too. The Lucky One gets

the general release on the May 2nd, and we have a clip. Obviously it is

a big romance, but romance doesn't always run smoothly, and there's a

exhusband on the scene. This is the scene between you and the exhusband.

How are you doing, want a ride? What do you want? I want to get a

job, you must be tired of cleaning up dog -- now. I have a few people

I know, make a couple of calls and make yourself worthy as a veteran.

I'm done talking to you. The whole film was filmed down near New

Orleans, this gave you access, I read this with interest, with one

of your favourite things, swamps? thinking swamps. Do you get the

show Swamp out here. It is on the history channel. Does anyone watch

it? Up The Swamp buy you down in Louisiana. I back you up, I get a

kick-out of that show. Shoot them. Alligators, 24/ 7. They shoot

alligators, I live in California, and it is amazing, that this is the

same country. Like it is very, very Wild West. It

is insane. But what we would do, on the weekends out there, I like to

go out there, and do some more adventureous things, like backpack.

We would take swamp tours, and one of the things we did with a guide

was hunt alligators. Did you wrestle a alligator? I did get on

top of one and man-handled one. That doesn't sound safe. That

doesn't sound legal. It's a rush, man. If you are looking for an

adrenaline kick, it is insane. is down my list. It is on there.

really into them, but I know how to ride one. It was Tom Cruise that

taught you how to rides? because Tom Cruise, I met the guy

the night before, he said do you ride motorcycles, I said no, he

asked if I wanted to learn. He said what are you doing tomorrow, I said

nothing. He said, come over, I'll teach you how to ride a motorcycle.

The next day, I show up, he turns up in a car from the one in MI3, he

put me on a dirt bike and taught me how to ride a motorcycle. What is

the insurance premium, for Tom cruise and Zac Efron on a

got to explain that joke. It is not worth it. When I go down at the end

of the day, if I was taught by Tom Cruise, I would be a proud man,

Now, Matt LeBlanc, you are back, you've just finished the second

series of Episodes. It starts here on May 2nd. I believe. May 11th.

May 11th, I now believe. The last time you were here is throughout

the first series, because you were on, I watched and then I watched

the whole series, and genuinely loved it. I really enjoyed it.

thought it came out pretty good, a great cast. And the writing is just,

brilliantly funny and warm at times. I'm really happy with it. Because

the writers of Friends were writing it, and they knew you and writing

the character, Matt LeBlanc? This is where it gets confusing.

first season, they painted you dark, and they did it all, are they

pushing it further now? More emotionally dismantling of Matt

LeBlanc, it takes it a step further and paints me in a darker light. I

don't know what is happening in season three. We have a clip.

is probably the most politically incorrect clip. Fabulously dark

version of Matt LeBlanc. She's the girl next door if you live on crazy

street. How long has she been stalking you? Probably, 15 years.

15 years. I met her when he was eight. She was one of those make a

wish kids. What. Friends was her favourite show and her one last

wish was, she wanted Joey to take her to Disneyland, so I took her to

Disneyland. She was a great kid, very sweet, but then, she didn't

die. No. I know. Don't get me wrong, it's a great organisation, but they

should check this stuff out. Come on, let do the homework. So then?

Well, so then, she kept living, and living. But she was still totally

into me, cards and e-mails and calling all the time. I was nice

about it at first, but, she started showing up places I was going to be.

I had to get a restraining order. 15 years, and you never encourageed

her before. Never, like I said I was nice. How nice? I slept with

her once. Oh. In retrospect a bad idea, but she was 18 and really

cute. Once her hair grew back. believe you will burn in hell.

Awhat are you going to do. Cos here it airs on BBC Two, 10.00

Fridays, May 11th. But on America, it plays on show time. What is the

reaction in America, to this version of Matt LeBlanc? That,

particular version. That particular version hasn't aired yet, so I have

to get back to you on that one. I hope I don't get shot. It must be

hard for them, because, they think they know you, for 12 years, you

were Joey in their lives. And, this is This is the documentary? Well, I

mean, it is funny you should say that, it is not a documentary, the

characters, I guess, is the public's perception of celebrity,

is the guy we've come up with, so it is not really me. It is not

really me. It looked terribly like you. I know. Because I mean, wufpb

the things I didn't realise S when friends started, it wasn't one that

built, it was overnight the success tf? Pretty much t premiered in the

top 20, and then, the first summer, where it goes in the reruns in the

States, is - look how old I was now. It is like a picture of puppies.

Then it was the first summer in reruns that it made it up into the

top five and then stayed there for the whole ten year run. Did anyone

prepare you for what was going to happen, that you were going to get

that famous? Yeah, if someone tells you that, it is like someone will

tell you you're going to win the Lottery tomorrow. You go, OK. Jimmy

Burrows, directed the pilot, he did Taxi he is a legendary director, he

took us all, after we shot the pilot and the show got picked up,

he took us to LA and we went to Caesar's palace for dinner, we sat

in the big round table in the dining room and he looked at us all,

and he said, this is so surreal, he said "look around this is the last

time the six of you will sit in a restaurant and no-one will care".

This guy talking and he is a God in television, so you have to believe

him. So, he was kind of right. It was a rocket ship ride, it was a

lot of fun, we had fun. Zac, that happened to you, because it was a

similar thing, when you were suddenly so famous. Did anyone warn

you it was going to happen, did anyone give advice, did Disney have

a department for that? The controversial I just said, was what

I said. Jimmy took you out too, he told us we were the only ones.

all seriously, there's not a bone in your body believes it could

happen. And somebody up there is aware, and says you should cherish

this moment, I will never forget, I sat down with a conversation like

that one. A similar happened to me, my director took me out to Nandos,

he said look around, get use today it. - get used to it! Nando story,

thank you ladies and gentlemen. great thing that Episodes has done

that Friends never could, it delivered a Golden Globe to your

door. Congratulations. Thank you. You seemed not an actory way, you

seemed genuinely shocked on the night? I shit my pants, I was so

prepared for them to say someone else's name. I know the drill, as

soon as you don't call the name, you pop the champagne. And then you

will feel a lot better. They called my name, and I remember, everything

slowed down and I went, I said to myself "wow, that sounded like an

awful lot like my name", everything else was kind of strange and blured.

Clare Danes had won earlier in the evening, and she talked about for,

Homeland. And she, talked about how when she won for Romeo and Juliet,

when she was 13, she forgot to thank her mother, in other

acceptance speech, went off how valuable her mother's been to her,

and supportive. So all I could do is focus on that, I had something

prepared just in case. Then I was focused totally on my mother. Now,

I don't know what I'm going to do. I worked my way up there, and I

looked down in the crowd, and the - everybody is stareing at you,

you're on stage, and you rck everybody in the audience. And it

is not like, no-one's on a sity show or movie, it is top shelf

people, I made eye contact with Steveen Spielberg and I started

myself to start to sweat. And I don't remember much after that.

glamorous as the Golden Globes or the BAFTAs. Here is a picture of

that. I don't see the problem with that

at all. Apparently it is the angle of the picture. Sure it is. Finally,

Finally, this is genuine, the American Army National Guard

Wrestling Award. Lee, down the end, everyone loves

him. If they don't, das poor night on BBC One. This is your third

Out. Have you seen Not Going Out, marvellous. It is back for the

fifth series? Yes. We have comedy balloons. What is going on, in

sitcom, is will they won't they, you and Lucy. In series five, is it

going to happen? It is that thing, I don't know what we should do with

it. I'm not going to give it away, it is hard to do this. If you do T

people don't like the change, if people get together. It is the

anticipation, that seems. How many times you write they don't get

together. Maybe I turn out to a closet homosexual. Perfect. That

would make sense of the title. coming out. You did lose a lot of

weight? I lost almost two stone in two-and-a-half, three months.

did you do it? I did a diet, which is not good, all the meat. Kidney

stones. Pounds, you want to know how many pounds, how many pounds in

a stone. I don't know. 14. 14. is pronounced 14. Why am I in a

British chat show and I'm in the minority. I lost two stone. Almost

two stone. Because I started to get vain. It is 28 pounds. I don't want

you to say pounds. I want them to understand what we're talking about,

I want them to go "wow that's a lot". Wow that's a lot. How many

kilos is that Graham. 13 kilos. Nobody cares about the Swedes,

So yeah, I got vain, and I thought, I was 14.5 stone. That's like 100

pounds. So I got a bit big. You get away

with it. If you put on weight, and you are like a horse face, search

horse face, long or round face. Graham is the plate. I'm the

epitome of the plate. You're a plate, he's a horse. You get the

idea. I should have said stallon. Matt's like a plaiter. Border line

offended. So because I have the horse face, people assume I am

skinnier than I am. But strip off and it is like a body of old man

step toe. Avenues really good looking guy in the '70s. So I

decided to lose a bit of weight. Anyone want a picture of your new

body? You are breatheing in there. Also, you do. I'm the one on the

right. The one at the end. You do write the sitcom. You could say

puts on his shirt. I did the classic vanity thing of thinking,

the joke's more important than me striping off. Then I got worried

and tried to lose weight. Not Going Out is back next Friday, at 9.30pm

5 the tragic story of the girl born with no knees or elbows. I can't

believe you're doing the training for a fun run. Fun run. It is not a

serious race, you will see more honey monsters than Kenyans. It is

still ten kilometres. Imagine trying to run to the supermarket,

then and back, and then back and then. Easy. You reckon? Yes, I'd

use a car though. You may not know this, Not Going Out, popular here,

it's solid to a 120 countries. I believe so. That's phenomenonal.

Are they remakeing it? It is talk about remade in Germany. And

they've already, cast it. If you want to know how people perceive

you, it is best to look at the person playing you, in another

country. And you know, listen, I'm no Zac. But, I've got something to

cling on to. The guy that's playing me, is a Munter. This is you in

Germany. This is me in Germany. What is that? He is applying me. He

is not my dad, he's playing me. Is that what I'm giving off as a

message. What is that. That's rough man. But shows get

dubbed and things. Because you've met your Spanish self you've met

Zac? Yeah.. Is he now the official Zac, will he be doing The Lucky

Ones? Once you get a voice internationally, that's the one

that stays with you. Are you please with the him? Man, the first time I

went to, it was actually, High School Musical three, I went to

the... Screams. I went to the I'll never forget this, I was sitting at

the Spanish premier, and, they introduced the characters one by

one, first was Corban who played Chad he came out and had a great

voice. Like a great, deep rich voice. Man, I can't wait. The girls

are come out, and they're very Spanish. I come out, my character

get a big introduction, turns out for the first line, and it goes

I'm literally, my jaws dropped, and I thought, seriously, what is this.

Is this going to be like this forever. Has the movie come out,

have we time to fix this. This is your voice since High School

Musical one, and stays with you forever. You can't have The Lucky

One? I've not seen it, but in The Lucky One, I'll come out saying

"Roger Roger" (in squeaky voice." Episodes in Friends, is 180

countries, something crazy? Just the same. Same guy that plays me in

Germany though. I can understand that. Have you met

the other Matts? I heard some of the voices. They sent us, a long

time ago, a DVD as a wrap gift, one scene from Japan, one from Spain,

one from Germany, and it was hysterical. The Japanese guy that

does me is the funniest. I'm not going to do an impression. It is

ridiculous. I don't want to offend anybody. Does the catch phrases

translate. If you are walking down in France, are people saying it to

you. They try and translate it to you. Does your daughter still do

you? She's such a chip off the old black. My sense of humour, if iter

taits you, I will key on it as much as I can. One of my friends taught

her, when she was little, you have to say, to your dad, you have to

tell him," How are you doing?". But, she just to irritate me, she would

sake "how are you doing?". And she'll look at me and saying that's

not the way we did. She'll say "yes it is". And we have this long

discussions about it. And I know she knows how to say it right, I'm

parents, I stayed at his house, and I didn't have anything to wear,

because I was there at that house that night, it would be

to the hospital because I was having a heart checkup. You know

you have to have the sticky pads you have to strip from the waist up.

Everything was fine, I went to put my clothes back on, I couldn't find

my bra. So I was looking around for T it was underneath the bed, but I

couldn't reach it underneath the bed, I had to put my arm between

the bed and wall to reach over the wall, and I my arm got stuck,

wedgeed between the bed and the wall. And I was there for a good 20

minutes, shouting for them to rescue me, and all the doctors came

back in, and I was stark naked. Don't you dare. Stark naked, leave

her alone. It is only visual. I hope you're wearing a bra now. Very
