Episode 10 The Voice: Louder on Two

tomorrow night it's the Voice final. We are in the studio watching all

the four coaches have a little practice. Equally excite and nervous

for tomorrow night's final. We are going to be talking to all four of

them, talking to their acts ahead of the final. Scott Mills and Nicky

Byrne will be telling us what they think will happen in the show.

Andrea Begley will be here singing a song for your. We catch up with Emma

and Marvin - he's there isn't he - I know he's there. He'll be there

chatting about stuff. Also, Yvie and Ali will tell us how everybody is

warming up. So exciting, got to go, so much to do!

Hello, welcome to the Voice, Louder On Two!

Big crowds tonight. Listen to that! Just over 24 hours until the biggest

Voice finale ever. But what can we expect? I'll grab the coaches for a

chat and snuggle between rehearsals. Do people right now just might know

what we can expect tomorrow. Give it up for the mosts with the mosts,

it's Emma and Marvin! Hello, my little pumpernickel and

sweet potato. We have a if you new ones. Kylie and Ricky, the new guys,

how much fun has it had with them as the new ones? It's been so much fun.

The standard of the contestants this year, aDaily Record the board,

absolutely phenomenal. Kylie and Ricky coming on board have breathed

new life into the show as well. It's just been so much fun. I feel like

I've lucked out being involved in it. We don't want it to end. We are

getting into it and it's all finishing. It's all going to be

over. It feels like we are just getting going. We have had

orchestras, car wrecks, Ninjas, I mean the car wrecks, not the

performances, although I did sing! But what about tomorrow, have you

seen any giant props or anything? There are some props. I can't wait

for them. There are some props! Some real rock'n'roll props on the stage

already. Not Schuur who it's for. I know who it was for. I think they

have revealed a lot there. There are some props - exclusive! And some

exciting performances. Have you had a little tear yet? Not yet, but from

what I've heard from some of the props, I just can't wait for a

couple of them. Things come from all angles. Yes. They are not just

standing and singing. I hope there will be some flying and bouncing and

maybe some tumbling. Pf Have you had a favourite moment,

Marvin? Throughout the whole series for me, I think it was the Christina

and Nathan duet, the Power of Love, that was sensational two. Amazing

singers coming together and singing their Socks off. That for me was so

far the most amazing thing. It was a turning point as well. You were like

wow, if that's the standard, this is going to be great. Emma, a favourite

moment for you? One of my favourite moments isn't in the competition any

more, but I loved Bob Blackley. Lovely Bob. He was not what you

expected. This is what I love about this competition, you can see

someone, take them on face value and all of a sudden, they transform into

something totally different like Jermain, who would think he can go

from up there to down there and just be perfect everywhere in-between?

Perfect everywhere in-between, he'll love that. Marvin, have you had

today's hair cut and are you ready for tomorrow's? Had it last night.

I'll give it a rest today and be fresh in the morning. Look at that.

Saturday. Your performance with Lee and Jamie. Do all your dinner

parties end up like that, dancing on the table? The more memorable ones,

yes. That was a great moment. I absolutely loved that. How well did

they do? You must have been so proud of them? Like, the other coaches...

I'm just full of pride and I've got to cut back on my compliments. I

always say to Jamie how thrilled I am and when Lee left last week, I

said how proud I was of him as well. We won't have seen the last of Lee.

It must be an emotional role being a coach because you bring in all your

babies, look after them, watch them grow, then you have to say goodbye

and then there can be only one. Yes. Does it get any easier as the series

goes along? Do you know what, at this point I think it is a little

easier because you can see the finish line, you are focussing on

your one act and you know, I think I know this sounds cliche and cheesy

and everything but I think they are all winners at this stage. You can

talk to people in the street, say the acts' names and they know who

you are talking about and they have opinions on them and it's amazing.

The other thing is, no matter how emotional it gets, one thing that

sorts everybody out as far as Kylie is concerned is a good cuddle. We

all need a good cuddly. Have a look. She's cuddly. A little snuggle

buddy. # How does it feel in my arms... #

You've been part of so many huge productions, your tours, movies,

stage shows. How do you prepare for something this big, coming to an

end? You become a bit of a family don't you? Does it get sad towards

the end? The one thing I'm aware of having done all those other things

is, I believe it's clinically recognised post-tour depression so

we are all going to feel down and lonely next Saturday when it's like,

what do we do now? We'll keep you company. Yourself and Will are also

coaches on the Australian Voice as well. When does that start? Straight

after this actually. No break? Can we phone and tell you

how it's going. It's Down Under. That is brilliant.

Please welcome Jamie Johnson. Hello, gorgeous. Before we look at the big

final, it's so exciting! Let's talk about last weekend and you singing

that song. It was such an incredible moment. I can't talk about it too

much because I'll start crying. I know! It was so emotional. How was

it for you to do a song that really showed your vulnerabilities? I mean

I already knew it was going to hit me emotionally. It's definitely an

emotional song. When you get on stage you get a totally different

feeling. You are up there ready to go, you have the audience, you know

people are at home hopefully connecting it on the other hand's

when it hit me. I had a little tear in my eye at the end of the song. I

was holding it together as best I could. I saw the lip quiver.

There was a viewer who said "you were amazing, you made me cry". Did

it surprise you how much the song got to you in that performance? I

knew the song would get to me, but the way it did, you know, being

there singing in front of Kylie and the other coaches and knowing my

family were in the audience, you think of things like experiences and

stuff like that and I think that's what got to me, you know. By the end

of it it was like, it's done. It's amazing you can hold on to it at all

actually, I would be a wreck. You have had three songs to practice

this week, you have been campaigning on BBC Breakfast news and you got to

meet somebody very special indeed. I did. Tell me about JT? So I got to

meet Justin Timberlake. JJ met JT! Yes, it was thanks to Kylie,

honestly, you couldn't thank you enough. It was amazing and it was

just... I can't explain. Didn't you sing in front of him? I did. He

said, do you want to sing then, and I was a bit like what? I was like

yeah sure. He was conducting the band. I can't believe it. Can't

believe it. That is incredible. Giving tips and everything, it's so

good. For your new song this week, you are tackling John Waite's song,

in the hit parade in 1984, I remember it well. Reminds me of my

Chopper bike. You won't know what one of those rsmt this is Jamie's

version in rehearsals. # Every time I think of you

# I always catch my breath # And I'm still standing here

# And you're miles away # And I'm wondering what you're

wearing... # Are you singing that for Lee? For

Lee, got to sing it for Lee. That song came out ten years before you

were even born which makes me feel incredibly old. Why this song? I've

slipped up a couple of times where I keep saying it's an old song. Jamie

- steady on! When the song got suggested, I was like, I love the

lyrics and the song, but it was just, it's not loud, if you know

what I mean and I was a bit worried about that, to be honest, but when

the music comes together, it's totally different. It's a perfect

song for him and again... I know, I've gone to tears already! You get

to sing together for the duet, what are you singing? There Must Be An

Angel, Eurythmics. That sounds quite hard. How hard is it to do that?

There are some tough moments because it's a key that's friendly for me

and this capable chap can do anything so you will be fine! It's

just still really surreal standing there singing with Kylie and you are

doing it and you think, Jamie, don't mess up, come on, you can do it. It

adds a whole level of fear. You take it in your stride. He can rest

because I haven't said you are going to be on angel's wings flying, we

are just singing. Don't tell him that bit yes, he'll be fine. Your

nearest and dearest, mum and dad, are so incredibly proud of you.

Jamie was ten when we first realised he could sing. When he actually sung

at his birthday party, his first actual song he sung was "now I know

my ABC" and he just carried on singing little things from there.

Where Jamie's got his Voice from, I do not know. We are just proud of

his music. If you chat to him, he's a nice lad. He's a very loving son.

He's a very good brother to Jessica. He's always there for me when I need

him. He's so caring. He gets on with everyone. Jamie is a fantastic guy.

When you see him on the TV, he comes across as being cheeky and a nice

boy. He's not putting it on, that's how he is. Pf

Very proud of Jamie. Didn't personally think he'd get there far,

but he's just done so well. When I'm in the audience, I feel like I'm

going to pass out. I just want him to do really well. And he has. We

are very proud of him, as parents. Aren't we? Yes. Fingers crossed,

we'd like to see him go all the way. But however he does, we are very

proud. # I can't make you love me... #

Oh, Jamie, that must be hard to watch. Very hard to watch. Your mum,

dad and six and all your mates. How pleased are you that you chose Kylie

-- sis. Tom and Ricky turned for you when you auditioned? I can't say it

was hard because it's a decision that's not hard because I had a gut

feeling to go with Kylie and, to be honest, my dad's been a fan of

Kylie, you know. You did it for your dad! It was just, I just thought,

Kylie would for some reason it was just like Kylie would be good. It

was meant to be, it was meant to be. It's a beautiful thing. Kylie, can

he win it? Yes, he can! Yes. I believe in you to coin one of my own

songs. She's going to sing it now. Sorry. Jamie's Voice moves me and

I'm either in tears. You will see tomorrow, there was one point in

rehearsals I was flying off the piano. Sounds impossible, I did it.

He made me do it. We'll hold tight. We'll do our best as we step back in

time and take a look at Jamie's Voice story.

It's a once in a lifetime opportunity and I've just got to

Couple of months ago, I was gigging in pubs, next moment you are singing

with Kylie. Absolutely unreal. Sometimes I don't think Jamie knows

how good Jamie is. He has so much potential we have not seen.

in front of a live audience is like a dream come true.

CHEERING AND APPLAUSE Hello, darling. My goodness, we are

all getting emotional. Nice jacket, I think we should swap. Thank you.

How much have you enjoyed the series? It's been really strange

watching it back at home but also really enjoyable as well. At least

this time I goat enjoy everybody's performances and don't have any

nerves. There is a huge amount of talent on the show and great to see

the four finalists get into the final and they are all very unique

and brilliant in their own way as well. Any stand out performances

during this series for you? Quite a few. For me, Sally's performance of

the Whole of the Moon was amazing and I enjoyed the performance in the

knockouts as well. There's been so many, they're hard to pick. The

standard has been incredible. You remember the night before the

final. How will they be feeling now? Probably wracked with nerves and

tired because at this stage you have gone through so many rehearsals and

the psychological and physical tiredness starts to kick in. You are

thenleying off the adrenaline as well and a lot of anticipation and

excitement about tomorrow night. I don't envy them in ways but in other

ways I do. How confident did you feel about winning before the show

started? Did you have any idea that was going to happen? I think anyone

who knew me knew the way I approached the final was very much I

was delighted to be in the final four and, for me, it was going out

there, doing the best I could in terms of my performances and then

really leaving it up to the public. At the end of the day, no matter

what you do, if you put in your best effort, it's really Hoult of your

hands. I think that's what the guys have to remember -- really out of

your hands. Enjoy the ride as well? Yes. Are you ready to hand over your

crown, Andrea? Reluctantly, I have to say if I have to hand it over to

any of the four finalists, Bill handing it over to one of them, I'd

be proud to do so, but it will be a sad moment, as much as a good one as

well. You are going to perform for us, so come with me.

Tell me, who do you think out of our four, and they are all so good,

no-one's listening, just between you and me, who would you like to see

win tomorrow night? I'm going to have to sit on the fence for this

public, but I've got a soft spot for Christina Marie and Sally, so I

You have suffered with nerves, not surprisingly. How are the nerves

today? Do you know what, they're OK. If there ease one thing I've learned

from Ricky, he's taught know let go and enzwroi experience because we

are on the stage, it's the last time we are going to be doing it, I need

to focus, breathe. No room for tears tomorrow night. Feels like a waste

now, the hanky. We thought, just enjoy ourselves, it's been fun this

week and it's like, you know, because we want to remember it and

remember the great time we've had together. Don't start me off again.

I'm a hormonal woman! In the blind auditions, you said to Christina

Marie that she was the reason that that was your destoition come on the

show, was for a Voice like that. It's incredible. Could you have

asked for a better finalist, your first year on the Voice, Ricky? No,

I couldn't. But as coaches, we kind of can guide who gets into the final

few and then I always wanted her to be in the final two and I'm glad you

are in the final. Thank you. You have made it loads of fun. Thanks.

So have you. We are witnessing an intimate moment. It's lovely. Hanky

at the ready because Christina Marie, we are going to revisit the

first time ever we saw your face! Beautiful.

This is the biggest thing I've ever done so I need to go out there and

I was a bit of a recluse growing up. I didn't have that many friends at

school. I'd have a tough day, go home and listen to Mariah Carey,

Michael Jackson and those amazing people and just listen and learn.

it's just me. In a room full of people, she's telling me what they

should be doing. That's the definition of a superstar.

You sounded amazing. The person that I'm taking through to the

semi-finals, I can't risk it, it's Christina Marie. She's always been

the one that's supported everyone else and I think it's time that she

gets looked after a little bit. This show is called the Voice and

you just heard it! Such skills, Christina Marie. Do you

know, so many of your performances could be like a final performance,

they are so epic. Have you got anything you would like to say to

you honestly have been there from day one and you promised med that we

were going to have a great time. Yes. And we have had a great time

the judges and the series, perhaps on the odd occasion, they have all

Sally! Hello you two glorious people. We

know Sally you don't like to give too much away before show day. But

how have rehearsals gone for you today? Are you happy? Is it all

coming together? Yes. That is all. I knew it. I knew she wouldn't reveal

anything at all. How is the breakdancing going? That's taking a

little more time. That's a bit tricky. How did that get out? ! Tom,

you and your fellow coaches, are you all being quite secretive at this

stage? Are you all playing your cards close to your chest? No, I'm

being honest. OK. Because I know what Sally can do. Yes. I've heard

her sing. I know. How confident do you feel ahead of tomorrow's final,

Tom? I feel confident because she's singing a song she really wanted to

sing and that's important I think. I've heard her sing it and it sounds

great. It really sounds natural. Yes. That's what she's got. She's

got feeling and it comes across. I like the way you see "feeling",

makes me go weak at the knees. Tom said at your blind audition, you

have the most beautiful Voice from the Voice so far - fact. How

important is it to have such unwavering support from Tom? It's

been dynamic actually and overwell Ming to have that sort of support

from Sir Tom. Every time he says my name, he says it with a certain

defiance and that's kind of neat. Neat is a good word for it!

Tom, you have helped reignite Sally's career. How much has that

meant to you? Er a lot because I know what she's gone through and I

know what it's like to... Well, I never did stop myself, you know, I

didn't have to when I started singing, but I mean, I would

understand what it would feel like if you sort of had to put your

career on hold and get on with something that is close to you, you

know. And then she has a chance now to pick it up again and to be better

than ever I feel. You have won the show before. How confident do you

feel that you could win it again Sally tomorrow? As long as Sally

touches the people. Because at the end of the day, it's all down to the

audience, you know, to the viewing audience. If she touches them like

she touches my -- me, then I don't think we have anything to worry

about. What do you say to that, Sal? I'm going to do the best that I can,

obviously. Keeping the song puns coming, we turn back time now with

career was over, this has given her a new lease of life and she deserves

I just love hearing you sing. I've loved being on the Voice so

far. It's given me a second chance to do what I feel I do best.

What a ride Sally ride! What are you laughing at, that little bit at the

end there? I nearly sang the wrong word. I had to stop myself. How do

you feel watching that back? Really embarrassed.

Stupid. Quite emotional. I'm trying not to tell you

everything I'm feeling now. What do you think Tom, watching that back?

Has it been a wonderful trip? Definitely. She's done everything

that I hopeled she would do. And she's listened and she's learned

songs that I've suggested. And then she's done them. And enjoyed herself

I think. Yes. It feels like it anyway. I would like to say that

it's been a progression with the hair. Different stages. Bigger and

better over time. I thought that was going to be the most interesting

thing I think about the final for me.

Watching what the hair is going to do, that's been exciting. What about

your boys, Ben and Dylan, how are they feeling the day before the

final? I don't know. I think... I haven't heard from them, so...

They'll be there tomorrow night. I think they are out spending money

that I haven't actually made yet. Rein it in, boys. Good luck tomorrow

lesson in the Will lingo from Giles. She's the bomb. It's the bomb

version right there. You da bomb. This is one of Will's most

fascinating terms of phrase. You might think it's a negative turn of

phrase, a bomb, you know, no, it isn't. Nor is it that 1970s dessert,

though it has connections with the baum and the bomb. The baum was a

Victorian dessert, a bomb is explosive, wow! That's what Will

gives us, something that is yummy yummy and goes wow, pow, explosively

exciting. Will, you are a Master of the Language in your own way!

Boy, so exciting. Love that waist jacket and you can see through it

and everything. Incredible. How have rehearsals gone today? Any little

niggles or feeling confident? Rehearsals is the place to make the

mistakes so you can sharpen it for the actual performances and we had a

couple of hiccups, but we are working them out and will be ready

for tomorrow. It's exciting. Will, you've been rehearsing together. How

proud are you? I know you have been secretive about what you are

performing and I understand there might be a surprise on the night.

Will we get to see the baritone and the tenor Voices that we love so

much with germane tomorrow? Yes. We are going to see some of that. He's

been editing his Jermainisms on the numbers. It's kind of hard because

there's not really that many singers that have that range, so to go in

and select where you put your stamp on things without altering the song,

it's some strategy and I liked all of the selections today during

rehearsals, it was really good. Amazing. There's not many artists

out there who the can do what you do, that's incredible. We have seen

how passionate you are about politics. You have had this

experience of the singing, have you got any more ways that you could

still go politics, more towards the singing or both? I want to do both.

I'm going to go my music and fill philanthropy. It's something I

learned this week and I keep repeating it this week, it keeps

echoing round my head that I'll use the success to help my community.

Great thing, I inspired by this man. Jermain has remained so composed and

so collected throughout Will, he's only 19. How impressed vulnerable

I train every type of singer. But I'm all about the technique. I've

worked with some of the biggest names in pop. From the rehearsal

studio to the world stage. That's what it's all about for me. Please

welcome, Yvie and Ali! Lovely to see you two. Yvie, you

have worked with some of the biggest singers in the world. Have you seen

superstar potential in our final four do you think? Well, I think our

whole country is talking about the incredible potential that we are

going to have on that stage on Saturday night. It's not just us.

True. I really think that there is some serious star quality up there.

I'm very excited. Big time. We are all frenzied here now. Ali, they are

going to be singing up to three songs on Saturday night, more than

they have performed on the Big Show before. What extra challenges does

this bring them? Well, you know, they are going to be nervous first

of all, incredibly nervous, and it's more control that they have to have

this time around. We have taught them as much as we can teach them at

this point so they've got to go on and we have to let go of the babies.

Looking at all their best bits tonight, they are incredible, aren't

they? We have seen so many performances that would have been

brilliant in a final? And very different. Each one has something

special but not like the others. They've all got a real individual

quality. Could be anyone's game tomorrow night, so exciting. They

have been performing so hard at such a high level now. At this stage in

the competitions, will their ways you can help them, even though their

Voices are warmed up, and are they straining? No, the whole idea is

that we have had months so they are ready now and now is the time when

they need to be ready and I think they very much are. It's like

training for the marathon, they put the miles in, it's race day tomorrow

and I think they are all ready. Absolutely. What are the last-minute

vocal warm ups you do tomorrow Ortonite or do you let them rest

tonight? The most important thing right now is about rest tonight.

They have to stay away from dairy products. No dairy? Yes and they

have to rest and walk through their songs in their minds tomorrow. They

get up and we'll do some warm-ups and get them ready for that. Do you

think they'll sleep tonight? They have to. They will because they were

up really early this morning on Radio 1. With Grimmy. Yes. I think

they are going to be so tired. Erred. You will be going round

tucking them in and reading them a story? It's true. Is now a good time

for the final to try something now or do you think it's better to stick

to what they have tried before or to what they are particularly good at?

It's dangerous to try to be too different. People have voted them

into the final and we have seen that. They have got to stick to what

they do well but we have got to double it. They have got to be twice

as good but within the guidelines of what they have already shown in my

opinion. The artists, they are artist, some timious might forget a

vocal routine that you have and have to do something different. It's all

what comes out from their hearts at the moment. You have done so well

with them. You have enjoyed working with them. It would be impossible

it. I believe the talent has stepped up this year. If you just look at

the final USes alone, it's so hard to call -- finalists. Christina's

ballad with Nathan was like wow. I loved Bizzy's battle as well. Scott

are you pleased with the final four? I actually am. I wanted Sophie to

get in because I thought she was great, especially in the battles,

but it's a very strong final four. I don't know how we are going to call

this tomorrow night. Each time you hear a different song, the like,

hang on a minute... That is the trouble. Tomorrow night they are

performing duets with their coaches, their favourite performance

revisited, the oners with going to look at are the new songs. So for

Team Kylie, JJ will be singing this by John Waite.

I want to adopt that boy. He's singing that. He's had an

incredible week. He met Justin Timberlake and met Grimmy. Will that

performance top it off for him I think it will actually. He has a

him through tomorrow night and you just know you believe it with him

and I think he's my favourite now, I think I've crossed over to wanting

is for all ages. OK, people maybe over the age of 35 will know that

off his vocal ability. It doesn't matter at this stage. I know and he

this in the final is right and a Coldplay song at the moment is

topical, probably the best and most emotional Coldplay song there is. He

wrote it for Gwyneth didn't he? Yes, and that will touch a nerve with

everybody tomorrow night at home so it's a clever move.

You are a big fan of her, could she be our own Mariah Carey? I think so.

What she's expressed lately, I saw where Yvie was teaching her, the

breathing, it's incredible, she can hold it for so long. So I prefer her

in this ballad mode. When she did Victs of Love, knocked it out the

park. To have that range is rare. That rehearsal part, she did it with

ease when Yvie was teaching. She walks it. Team Tom, let's have a

Sally's confidence blossom and bloom again? Her first audition, she

couldn't even open her eyes, from that to this is just a massive

journey. So yes. Even when you hear her talk, it's so much more

will hear her emotion because I think that's what draws you in about

her in the first place. Let's go to Team Will and Jermain

Is this a good song for Jermain for the final? Do you know what, it is

because it's a challenge, not for him but it's something that he's

probably out of his comfort zone a bit. To do something so current,

Miley's had a bit hit with it, it's a challenge for him but he has a big

smile and Voice but he's a great artist, he'll nail it. You can

imagine it's going to get bigger. I'm hoping there will be some great

props. His Scooby Doo moments are so good. They have been so good. I

don't remember seeing that on any other talent show. It's unique, two

tones in the one Voice. It's great. I'm a little worried because this

song has been probably tainted by the Miley Cyrus video. Imagery. I

don't want him to be on a ball tomorrow. Too late. They still can't

decide! Actually, Tull strip it back, it's a great song. It's a

fantastic song without a doubt. The big question to both of you at

this point has to be, who is the winner for you tomorrow night? It's

probably the closest final there's ever been so everyone of them is a

winner, to be honest and I really mean that. I'm flipping between
