Our penultimate show. Ricky Wilson will be here with

:00:00.:00:16.

Christina Marie and tonight my final singing lesson. Don't say I didn't

:00:17.:00:23.

warn you. You are watching The Voice, Louder on Two.

:00:24.:00:32.

Hello. Good evening. Welcome to The Voice: Louder on Two. Lively. Before

:00:33.:00:35.

we crack on, it is time for a chin wag just between the two of us in

:00:36.:00:40.

our daily gossip. Treat for you. Exclusive clip. While you would

:00:41.:00:44.

think the coaches and their acts would be buckling down ahead of

:00:45.:00:47.

Saturday's final. It seems there is time for a muck about on Team Kylie.

:00:48.:00:54.

# Oh, oh, oh... # You just carry on. Jamie, oh, Jamie.

:00:55.:01:08.

Oh, I'm never going to wash my hand again. Come on, Jamie.

:01:09.:01:21.

#... On fire... # That was the best thing ever. Lucky,

:01:22.:01:27.

lucky boy. So, that is your little gossip for today. Thank you very

:01:28.:01:31.

much. While we are all on tenterhooks as

:01:32.:01:35.

to what the outcome will be on Saturday, one man may already have

:01:36.:01:38.

an idea. We have reviewed the footage from back through the

:01:39.:01:42.

series. It seems, one of the coaches may have a special gift. Just the

:01:43.:01:47.

power of the suggestion. Very clever. Don't you feel like? Like,

:01:48.:01:54.

this spiritual or mystical thing? She got me. Say, come on, Tom. Come

:01:55.:02:05.

on, come on. # Scratch your ear, Will. What? No, your ear? My lip?

:02:06.:02:13.

No, my ear. Chin. Please, Will, scratch your ear. My neck? Not you,

:02:14.:02:20.

Tom. Gentleman I'm doing an impression of a horse. I give up. Oh

:02:21.:02:32.

my ear is itchy now. I had my hand on my temples, I was psychically

:02:33.:02:37.

receiving T I received it. I got a bunch of spam too. Give it up for

:02:38.:02:44.

the delightful Mr Ricky Wilson. I nearly called you Wicky Rilson.

:02:45.:02:53.

Nice work, Team Ricky on Saturday. You were worried about sharing the

:02:54.:02:56.

stage with Christina Marie and Chris. How did it go for you? OK. I

:02:57.:03:02.

made sure my riser was twice as high as theirs. I tried to get cut down

:03:03.:03:10.

in rehearsals. For the fist time you didn't have to make the decision. It

:03:11.:03:14.

was up to the public. Did that ease the pressure up? Not really. It was

:03:15.:03:19.

bitter sweet. I love them both. I knew I was going to have to say

:03:20.:03:23.

goodbye to one. I had that cloud over me. How anxious do you get

:03:24.:03:26.

waiting for them to come on? Do you relax at any point during their

:03:27.:03:31.

performances? I'm more relaxed than I thought I'd be because I trust in

:03:32.:03:34.

their voices totally. I know they can pull it off. I'm not worried at

:03:35.:03:38.

all about them singing, it is all about me. You have to do it again

:03:39.:03:43.

this weekend. Christina Marie faced the public vote for the first time

:03:44.:03:47.

and she did it. Why do you think people picked her over Chris? Why?

:03:48.:03:53.

Yes. Oh, if I dare think about what the British public would do, I

:03:54.:03:58.

wouldn't be doing this job, I would work at a bookies or something. I

:03:59.:04:01.

love the fact that they have their finalist on Team Ricky, it is the

:04:02.:04:06.

one they chose. It shows if you vote you get your way. It seems you have

:04:07.:04:10.

had a riot on The Voice, as predicted. They made me say that.

:04:11.:04:15.

How much can you remember from the show? I do like a quiz. We all love

:04:16.:04:20.

a quiz. Time now to take our favourite rocker coach on a coach

:04:21.:04:22.

trip down memory lane. Is that the coach? I'm in it. I'm

:04:23.:04:35.

driving. Will.i.am on the back seat being noughty. I will ask you loads

:04:36.:04:39.

of questions. See how you can get on with the answers. You ever driven a

:04:40.:04:45.

coach? Yes. On tour? Only in the car park. Did you do a 3-point turn. We

:04:46.:04:53.

have our own bus. Yes. Some people have planes. Is it like a Scoobie

:04:54.:05:01.

bus? No, but you can sleep on it. Invite us. Can we borrow it for a

:05:02.:05:11.

family holiday? We have our own duvet covers. Does it say Kaiser

:05:12.:05:19.

Chiefs. Mine is He-man. ! I feel like I'm wearing PJs now. It is

:05:20.:05:25.

baggy. I got embarrassed, you said I looked buff in my tight T-shirt. So

:05:26.:05:32.

I thought I'd wear something looser. Don't worry about me. It is all talk

:05:33.:05:38.

All scripted. Quus time. Out of 90 -- quiz time. Out of 90 blind

:05:39.:05:42.

audition, how many times did you turn? 31. Oh, I have some options.

:05:43.:05:49.

I'm not good at This change gear. You change gear. A22, 32, or 42. 32.

:05:50.:05:57.

You are right. I was nearly right. It was a guess. Look at that. Out of

:05:58.:06:01.

all the blind auditions, which act did you turn the quickest for? Anna

:06:02.:06:09.

McLuckie. An extra point for how many seconds? It wasn't that quick.

:06:10.:06:15.

I would say 12. 17. 56. It felt lake 1. One blind audition saw you

:06:16.:06:19.

transported back to childhood days, back seat with your brother

:06:20.:06:25.

listening to your parents' cassettes. What was the song?

:06:26.:06:33.

Country Rhodes. John Denver. What was the car? Probably a Ford Escort.

:06:34.:06:39.

We had a Ford Cortina. Flash. It was John Rafferty who sang that in the

:06:40.:06:44.

auditions. Auditions we were reminded last week of your fabulous

:06:45.:06:48.

way with words with your pitching. Not surprisingly, you didn't have a

:06:49.:06:52.

lot of luck with this one but can you remember who it was to. This is

:06:53.:06:55.

what you said, "We are going to go on days out, have matching T-shirts

:06:56.:07:02.

printed. Borrow Will's hovercraft." Is it someone in the final?

:07:03.:07:06.

Possibly. Jamie Johnson. You are good at this. This was more

:07:07.:07:11.

successful. Who was it to? "I'm still thinking about the voice I

:07:12.:07:13.

just heard and I'm thinking about the next time I'm going to hear it."

:07:14.:07:19.

Again and again and again, Christina Marie. It is. And one last question.

:07:20.:07:25.

OK. How many episodes of Midsummer murders have you watched? The thing

:07:26.:07:30.

is everyone seems like the same episode to me. I have watched a lot

:07:31.:07:34.

but always the same outcome. Is the right answer. Well done. And because

:07:35.:07:39.

you have been such a good bien didn't slip down the crack, we have

:07:40.:07:43.

a treat for you. It is a special acoustic performance from Chris we

:07:44.:07:46.

recorded earlier on in the week. Here he is with smile. It's

:07:47.:07:47.

beautiful. # Smile though your heart he aching

:07:48.:08:04.

# Smile even though it's breaking # When therer clouds in the sky

:08:05.:08:09.

# You'll get by # If you smile through your fear in

:08:10.:08:17.

sorrow # Smile and maybe tomorrow

:08:18.:08:25.

# You'll see the sun come shining through

:08:26.:08:31.

# For you # Light up your face with gladness

:08:32.:08:36.

# Hide every trace of sadness # although a tear may be ever so

:08:37.:08:47.

near # At the time you must keep on

:08:48.:08:51.

trying # Smile

:08:52.:08:54.

# What's the use of crying # You see the life, still worthwhile

:08:55.:09:04.

# All you've got to do is just smile # Now's the time you must keep on

:09:05.:09:10.

trying # Smile, what's the use of crying

:09:11.:09:17.

# You'll see that life, yes, it's all still worthwhile

:09:18.:09:27.

# if you just # Smile #

:09:28.:09:37.

APPLAUSE That is beautiful, isn't it? That

:09:38.:09:41.

little ending. You have a lovely big smile on your face. I do. OK, now

:09:42.:09:46.

with Chris no longer in the competition, Christina is the last

:09:47.:09:49.

woman standing for Team Ricky. Before she joins us, let's have a

:09:50.:09:54.

reminder of how she blew us all away on Saturday night.

:09:55.:10:00.

# I don't know why sometimes I cry... #.

:10:01.:10:06.

You are just phenomenal. You blow my mind. Is there anything you can't do

:10:07.:10:14.

Not only did you bang, bang them, you sliced, sliced them and ran out

:10:15.:10:23.

the ninjas. This show is called The Voice - and

:10:24.:10:29.

you just heard it. # You really got me now

:10:30.:10:34.

# You've got me so I don't know what I'm doing

:10:35.:10:37.

# Oh yeah, you really got me now # You got me so I can't sleep at

:10:38.:10:40.

night # You really got me... #

:10:41.:10:45.

The artist from Team Ricky with the most public votes is... It's

:10:46.:10:54.

Christina Marie. Please welcome Christina Marie.

:10:55.:11:01.

What are you two like gossiping about over there? Nothing. Naughty.

:11:02.:11:13.

I was just saying... Taking the mick out of me. How come Will gets the

:11:14.:11:22.

glass harmonica. You haven't seen what we have got lined you up for

:11:23.:11:28.

you. We have Morris dancers... Quick, get on the phone.

:11:29.:11:32.

Congratulations. Watching at home on Saturday you seemed calm before. I

:11:33.:11:37.

was a lot calmer than the quarter-finals, definitely. I think

:11:38.:11:40.

it was partly because I knew what to expect and partly because of the

:11:41.:11:44.

song I was sing singing, compared to some of the other ones, it was a

:11:45.:11:51.

strong, feminine song. I felt strong and feminine. So did I. You looked

:11:52.:11:57.

like it. Go easy on the mascara. What? What are you saying Daily

:11:58.:12:02.

Mail? You looked beautiful as ever. People

:12:03.:12:07.

online have gone crackers for you. Clary from Bristol says "Christina

:12:08.:12:12.

Marie sounds like Christina Aguilera, definitely a good thing.

:12:13.:12:16.

Incredible voice ""High praise, indeed. A massive comparison. Wow.

:12:17.:12:21.

Thank you very much Clary. Thank you.

:12:22.:12:25.

She sounds more like Christina Marie. Obviously she has strength

:12:26.:12:29.

and for somebody to hear that and say I have that strength, amazing.

:12:30.:12:32.

Thank you very much. She got it. You could argue that sometimes it is

:12:33.:12:35.

easy for the viewers at home to connect with a ballad or a torch

:12:36.:12:39.

song and this was a bit of a rock rift in a way, going that big -- a

:12:40.:12:44.

rockeriesk. But one you were willing to take. -- a rock risk. I wasn't

:12:45.:12:49.

going to risk anything with Christina. I wouldn't dare to. But

:12:50.:12:52.

you can play it safe every week and go for what I know will tug at the

:12:53.:12:56.

heart strings and pick up the phones. I thought it was a chance to

:12:57.:13:02.

see that bit of her that people fell in love with which she zl during

:13:03.:13:07.

Power of Love with Nathan. It was awesome. -- with which she did

:13:08.:13:12.

during Power of love. I don't want to win this with doing one thing

:13:13.:13:18.

very well. She does but also she can do everything. I was scared of

:13:19.:13:22.

coming across as a one trick pony. As much as as I love doing the

:13:23.:13:27.

ballads and it is easier to connect emotionally. I thought I was going

:13:28.:13:31.

to go out and have fun. It was a massive stage production. You had

:13:32.:13:38.

Ninjas. Yes and pyramid things. I was quite intimidated. Will was

:13:39.:13:43.

jealous. He was. If you can make Will jealous, you know it is going

:13:44.:13:47.

all right. It is a winner. Quite an exhausting performance. A lot of

:13:48.:13:51.

lung power in that song. Was it tiring for your voice? A little bit

:13:52.:13:55.

but I did love T I loved the staging, going out there. -- I did

:13:56.:13:59.

love it. I felt I had created a different kind of side of me during

:14:00.:14:03.

that performance. It was a lot of fun. The final on Saturday. Have you

:14:04.:14:07.

been hitting the campaign trail? It is like being a politician in a way

:14:08.:14:11.

at this point? I know. I expect germane is feeling very much at

:14:12.:14:15.

home. I have been doing some local press, the Bristol Post have been

:14:16.:14:21.

lovely to me and BBC Radio Bristol and tweets and messages from local

:14:22.:14:26.

people and people all over the world outside the UK. I have been looking

:14:27.:14:31.

at your lineage and apparently lots of Scottish in your history and

:14:32.:14:39.

Irish people. I am Irish. And don't forget I'm from Yorkshire. All those

:14:40.:14:46.

Cornish ice-creams. We have enjoyed summers in Cornwall. How much

:14:47.:14:51.

pressure is there on you, Ricky, with Christina Marie to pick the

:14:52.:14:54.

right songs. We had a real pressurised day the other day, and

:14:55.:14:57.

it was weird because we were looking for a perfect song. We were in the

:14:58.:15:01.

dressing room playing loads of stuff. We played this song and we

:15:02.:15:04.

were like - it was obviously right. We sang it and sang it. Because she

:15:05.:15:11.

can sing incredibly well Thank you. We've noticed. But what I wanted was

:15:12.:15:15.

to get the emotion across and the connection with the song. You

:15:16.:15:18.

connected so well. We all had a bit of a meltdown. Were there tears? Did

:15:19.:15:23.

you have to have a cuddle? Yeah. I can't wait for people to see it on

:15:24.:15:26.

Saturday night. It is a real moment. You are going to do a new number. Is

:15:27.:15:31.

this the song you are talking about. Are we allowed to tell what it is?

:15:32.:15:35.

Of course, go for it. If you don't want to know, go and make a cup of

:15:36.:15:40.

tea now. Yes, cover your ears up now, if you don't want to know. Is

:15:41.:15:48.

it Shirley Bassey? You know. It is Coldplay, Fix You. It is such a good

:15:49.:15:54.

build-up as well. I'm seeing tears. I think there will be a lot of

:15:55.:16:00.

emotion. We both said T then you read through the lyrics you said -

:16:01.:16:04.

they are really relevant to what is happening. Not with the unconscious

:16:05.:16:10.

cupeling, but, the competition. Yeah. Also, you are going to duet.

:16:11.:16:15.

Please tell me you are doing Islands in the Stream. I said it that to

:16:16.:16:20.

Ricky he was - you know what, I'm not feeling it. Keith Harris and or

:16:21.:16:25.

have I. We will not tell you what that is. Are we not? We can have a

:16:26.:16:33.

guess. And you revisit one of your favourite performances. Difficult to

:16:34.:16:36.

choose, they have all been awesome. Which have your chosen? I have

:16:37.:16:40.

decided to go with the one that meant the most to me emotionally and

:16:41.:16:45.

I've picked the Power of Love which was my battle performance with

:16:46.:16:51.

Nathan. With Nathan He made that special to me. He is now one of my

:16:52.:16:55.

closest friends. He is going to be there on Saturday. I want to go out

:16:56.:17:00.

and sing it for him. We love Nathan. He is so supportive of everyone on

:17:01.:17:05.

Team Ricky. He is still around and helping everyone. Waving the

:17:06.:17:09.

banners. Well, throughout the competitionic has been there for

:17:10.:17:13.

you, smiling and beaming and supporting you. He is not the only

:17:14.:17:16.

one who loves you to pieces. Look at this. Christina is an amazing

:17:17.:17:22.

sister. I look up to her. She is my rock, basically. She was always

:17:23.:17:27.

helpful around the house. She used to sing and dance any chance she

:17:28.:17:32.

got. As a student, Christina was vibrant and strong. Everybody knew

:17:33.:17:38.

about Christina's voice. She sang in lessons. She used to sing in the

:17:39.:17:44.

shows. She just lives to sing. Christina doesn't realise how good

:17:45.:17:53.

she is. I'm very proud of Christina being on

:17:54.:17:58.

The Voice. She has come so far. She has become more mature and more

:17:59.:18:04.

confident. I think she is a real inspiration to all the young people

:18:05.:18:11.

out there. This is her dream. She started from singing in her bedroom

:18:12.:18:17.

to now. We have seen her grow up to be a beautiful young lady that can

:18:18.:18:21.

sing and is now doing something with her voice. I'm so proud. You are

:18:22.:18:28.

such a lovely, lovely girl. She is an amazing daughter to me. She's

:18:29.:18:33.

worked so hard. And if anybody deserves to get somewhere, with her

:18:34.:18:35.

singing career, it's Christina. Oh, your lovely mum and sister R

:18:36.:18:46.

they going to be there on Saturday? They will. I got a bit glassy-eyed.

:18:47.:18:54.

Rein it in. They are the two most important people in my life. Woo,

:18:55.:19:02.

woo, woo. Two of the most important. I couldn't have done not only this

:19:03.:19:06.

show but lots of things in my life without them by my side. I am happy

:19:07.:19:10.

they will be there on Saturday. I can't wait to see them. They are

:19:11.:19:17.

very proud. Keep this one in check. I will try. Good luck. Good luck

:19:18.:19:22.

Ricky and Christina Marie. We will see you on Friday. One more catch-up

:19:23.:19:27.

before the big day. Now here is Christina Marie in rehearsals with a

:19:28.:19:32.

sneak peak of what ul you can hear on Saturday. Don't tell.

:19:33.:19:53.

# Lights will guide you... # Looking good.

:19:54.:20:03.

If you are loving you are a acts' performances, you can unload their

:20:04.:20:07.

Saturday night songs. Head to the website. At least 20 pour goes to

:20:08.:20:12.

the BBC performing arts charity. In a moment my final lesson from

:20:13.:20:16.

singing coach Maureen Scott but one last chance for us to brush up on

:20:17.:20:23.

our vocal vocab with ehave I and Ally.

:20:24.:20:25.

# -- Evie.

:20:26.:20:29.

D is for diction. What I mean by diction is your pronunciation of the

:20:30.:20:35.

words. Over-pronounce or underpronounce can make a

:20:36.:20:39.

difference. Diction is essential to help people understand the story you

:20:40.:20:43.

are telling when you are singing. There are certain exercises you can

:20:44.:20:47.

use to practice your diction. For instance there is Tip of the tuning,

:20:48.:20:52.

the teeth, the lips. Unique, New York, unique New York. There is also

:20:53.:21:00.

one about the pheasant plucker, but we will not go there today.

:21:01.:21:05.

Now after a week of hard graft, perfecting my vocals, it is almost

:21:06.:21:12.

time for me to join the long list of performers who have murdered

:21:13.:21:15.

Unchained Melody. Brace yourself. Here is Maureen with her final

:21:16.:21:19.

masterclass. I'm Maureen Scott. A singing teacher and vocal coach. I

:21:20.:21:23.

have taught loads of popstars. I have taught people in major West End

:21:24.:21:28.

shows. I mean the whole thing about teaching singing is rewarding.

:21:29.:21:37.

Welcome Maureen. Thank you so much for coming back and not giving up on

:21:38.:21:40.

this lost cause. Lots of people joining in at home with all the

:21:41.:21:45.

exercises you have been doing Good. Really good. Today we will learn

:21:46.:21:48.

about how to use your tuning be properly and how to belt -- use your

:21:49.:21:52.

tongue. But some favourites. A warm-up. A quick warm-up.

:21:53.:22:01.

The big smile in the tloe. Giggle, giggle. I can feel it now Now we are

:22:02.:22:08.

just going to do this. Me, Mas, me, Mas, me.

:22:09.:22:20.

Me, ma me ma me Release. Me, ma me ma me.

:22:21.:22:26.

Well done. Well done. I enjoyed that. Well done, really

:22:27.:22:31.

good. Well connected to the body. Release of the belly. Fantastic. It

:22:32.:22:34.

just needs practice all the time. The next thing we will look at is

:22:35.:22:39.

the tongue. I will give you tongue exercises. Roll the tongue around

:22:40.:22:44.

the teeth. I have a lot of teeth And the other way. And the other way.

:22:45.:22:50.

Why do we do this? Well, the tongue root is very strong. If you put your

:22:51.:22:56.

thumb here and you go oh, oh, oh, you can feel that, that's Mr Bean

:22:57.:23:02.

speaking. Really? You don't want that. You don't want to be Mr Bean.

:23:03.:23:09.

No. So it has to stay high up on the top back teeth, wide and flat. OK.

:23:10.:23:16.

So tongue exercises, touch your nose with your tongue and your chin and

cheek and other cheek Again, nose, nose.

:23:23.:23:26.

Chin, chin. OK, that will do, well done. That's

:23:27.:23:32.

enough of that. I can curl it. It is hereditary You don't want the curled

:23:33.:23:39.

up bit. You want it twisted like... Oh, that's clever. I can do it one

:23:40.:23:44.

way, I can't do the other We are doing this to warm up our tongue to

:23:45.:23:48.

help with the whole... Also, so the muscle at the back of the tongue, it

:23:49.:23:52.

doesn't want to drop. And the tip of the tongue always stays behind the

:23:53.:23:55.

bottom teeth. The back is up here on the teeth. The tip is down here,

:23:56.:24:02.

there. OK. Let's go on to belting. Shall we? A good idea. Hold tight

:24:03.:24:07.

The breath changes for belting. It is higher. So the rib cage expands.

:24:08.:24:16.

So you go - with a quick breath. Now pull your shoulder blades down and

:24:17.:24:23.

look up. Belting is singing like - like Christina Marie It is all the

:24:24.:24:28.

things the singers go. You don't need so much air flow. You need less

:24:29.:24:32.

air. By controlling that, by anchoring, which means you use the

:24:33.:24:37.

larger muscles in your body to help control these muscles in the larynx.

:24:38.:24:42.

So a high breath. Not your shoulders, and expand the rib stage

:24:43.:24:55.

cage Now push me away here and go up and go aye. Aye.

:24:56.:25:03.

R Feel that. Feel my rib here. Oh, I can feel that. OK. That's what you

:25:04.:25:09.

are doing. Just do that now. Go. Here we go. Look up and go yeah. Oh

:25:10.:25:21.

yeah. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Fantastic. ! Fantastic, great. All right. You

:25:22.:25:24.

have understood all that. I think so. So, listen, when, in your larynx

:25:25.:25:30.

you have two cartilages, one on top of the other, when we sing pretty,

:25:31.:25:35.

the one here stretches the vocal chords. The one underneath, when you

:25:36.:25:41.

belt drops back and keeps the vocal folds think. So you go, eeeee.

:25:42.:25:49.

Shall I try that? Eeee? OK. Hear a shift.

:25:50.:25:55.

Now you are moving it. Well done. ! All right, shall we sing? Let's try.

:25:56.:26:00.

I will do a line. Then you do a line. All right. So if I go in

:26:01.:26:05.

speech quality, like talking with a big smile here. Big smile. OK.

:26:06.:26:11.

# Oh, my love # My darling

:26:12.:26:17.

# I've hungered for your touch... # OK. You. Two, three, go...

:26:18.:26:22.

# Oh, # My love

:26:23.:26:24.

# My darling # I've hungered for your touch... #

:26:25.:26:32.

Well done Now we are going to go pretty? Pretty. Pretty. It goes

:26:33.:26:40.

# Along, lonely time... # Go

:26:41.:26:44.

# A long, lonely time... # That means you needed to tilt. OK.

:26:45.:26:53.

Oh, the sad face. Any note. With me, it is. I'm used to playing with

:26:54.:27:04.

Elvis. A long, lonely time... # Yes Now back to speech quality. No

:27:05.:27:09.

we will not we will stay there. # Time goes by

:27:10.:27:13.

# So slowly # And time

:27:14.:27:17.

# Can do so much... # OK, you. And me. Crying

:27:18.:27:24.

# And time # Goes by

:27:25.:27:26.

# So slowly # And time can do so much... #

:27:27.:27:32.

Brilliant For the next time we will belt. Fingers crossed.

:27:33.:27:39.

# You... # You

:27:40.:27:42.

# Still mine... # Nearly. Just need practice. I knew I

:27:43.:27:48.

wouldn't make T Tell us how it should be

:27:49.:27:57.

# You still mine... # I need yourer love. Thank you so

:27:58.:28:02.

much. Pleasure. Maybe I will come to you and have some proper lessons.
