Aled, it's the final of The Great Interior Design Challenge | :00:09. | :00:11.
tonight so I've been inspired to redesign your dressing room | :00:12. | :00:13.
Today, me and Aled are here to guide you | :00:14. | :00:50.
through the highlights of last night's best TV shows. | :00:51. | :00:52.
And we'll tell you what we think are the ones to watch | :00:53. | :00:55.
Also, the judges and host of BBC 2's The Great Interior | :00:56. | :00:58.
Design Challenge will be here to talk about tonight's final. | :00:59. | :01:06.
We'll be speaking to the hero of BBC Three's Marathon Man - | :01:07. | :01:09.
Eddie Izzard is live from South Africa. | :01:10. | :01:11.
And we're rewinding the clock to enjoy again a date in TV | :01:12. | :01:16.
history in what we call Windback Wednesday. | :01:17. | :01:18.
But before all of that, let's take a look at last night's | :01:19. | :01:21.
Neither of us can be sure you are even my real dad. There are eight to | :01:22. | :01:43.
ten chocolates in the box, depending on the size of the nut. Nobody would | :01:44. | :01:48.
believe that I ordered the table and I got 40 bags of live fish. It was | :01:49. | :01:55.
my worst nightmare. A very complacent penguin is not a happy | :01:56. | :01:56.
penguin. Last night we saw tears on Emmerdale | :01:57. | :01:58.
and there were tensions in the chocolate factory | :01:59. | :02:01.
on BBC2's Who's The Boss, but 6.4 million of you tuned | :02:02. | :02:04.
into Happy Valley. Including this one. That is an awful | :02:05. | :02:09.
lot of people to watch a cartoon. Srath Sona - Happy Valley - | :02:10. | :02:14.
The Gaelic children's cartoon I love it. What are. -- what a | :02:15. | :02:18.
coincidence. Aled, you know perfectly well that's | :02:19. | :02:28.
not the Happy Valley I mean. It's the crime drama Happy Valley | :02:29. | :02:31.
with Sarah Lancashire on BBC1. It was so intense last night, | :02:32. | :02:34.
with Tommy Lee Royce plotting his revenge by continuing | :02:35. | :02:36.
to manipulate Francis from prison. I didn't know she was going to go | :02:37. | :02:43.
out of the way to target her. But she did. And now they are going to | :02:44. | :02:49.
go out of their way to let her walk and I can't do anything. But you | :02:50. | :02:58.
can. If our two hearts beat as one, and I like to think that they do, | :02:59. | :03:12.
then you know what I want. You know what I want, Francis. | :03:13. | :03:19.
You know what I want, Emma, what I really, really want. There is a song | :03:20. | :03:21.
there. Stop watching Happy Valley. Don't be fooled by the title, it's | :03:22. | :03:25.
definitely not happy. James Norton, who you saw in that | :03:26. | :03:34.
clip, is such a versatile actor. He's in this and he's just | :03:35. | :03:39.
been in War and Peace. He's | :03:40. | :03:42.
definitely having his moment. And you'll be seeing | :03:43. | :03:43.
more of him later. Over on Channel 4 was a great show | :03:44. | :03:46.
called The Secret Life of the Zoo where they take us behind | :03:47. | :03:49.
the scenes to show us all the parts of Chester Zoo that | :03:50. | :03:53.
are normally off limits On last night's episode, | :03:54. | :03:56.
there was a chimp called Boris Really, I thought you were older | :03:57. | :03:59.
than that! Awkward! Zookeeper Neil has known Boris | :04:00. | :04:09.
for 46 years and last night we saw how they get | :04:10. | :04:11.
on and have a laugh. The zoo limits contact between | :04:12. | :04:21.
chimps and their keepers. But that has not stopped Neil and Boris | :04:22. | :04:28.
finding ways to play together. Boris has definitely got a sense of | :04:29. | :04:37.
humour. He wicked sense of humour. -- a wicked. I could literally watch | :04:38. | :04:49.
chimps all day. Well, you are working with one! That is one of the | :04:50. | :04:53.
sweetest relationships I have seen all week. It is amazing, the guy | :04:54. | :05:04.
that works with Boris, he says he could work with chimps all day long. | :05:05. | :05:13.
I had my first kiss in the chimp's enclosure. Not with Boris. What was | :05:14. | :05:20.
her name? Emma. Was it? No. The last episode is next Tuesday. | :05:21. | :05:26.
Also on last night was Holby City, BBC1, which is on top | :05:27. | :05:29.
Last night, trainee doctor Arthur got | :05:30. | :05:32.
The CT scanned's clear? He's going to be OK? -- CT scan is clear. We | :05:33. | :05:47.
will have to do a follow-up scan to be sure. But yes. We have every | :05:48. | :05:58.
reason to be positive. I love that clip. | :05:59. | :06:00.
I thought his romance with Morven, who you saw in the clip there, | :06:01. | :06:07.
was going to have to be put on hold, but thankfully everything's | :06:08. | :06:10.
I actually felt quite emotional watching that. | :06:11. | :06:13.
Holby City's doing really well in the ratings, | :06:14. | :06:16.
after 18 years it's still coming up with meaty storylines. | :06:17. | :06:26.
Incredible. I hear that the actors struggle with the medical terms, so | :06:27. | :06:32.
they write them on the actors in the hospital beds. | :06:33. | :06:35.
Well that's what we thought about last night's telly, | :06:36. | :06:39.
but we want to hear what you think, so get in touch at | :06:40. | :06:42.
bbc.co.uk/TooMuchTV or send us a Tweet. | :06:43. | :06:44.
Now, last night, we had the semi-final of The Great Interior | :06:45. | :06:56.
BBC2's search to find the country's best | :06:57. | :07:00.
In this clip, after a stressful time restyling sitting rooms, | :07:01. | :07:03.
There is only room for two in the final. And the designer we are | :07:04. | :07:10.
saying goodbye to today is... Poor old Frankie didn't impress | :07:11. | :07:21.
with his Union Jack inspired There he goes. He was your | :07:22. | :07:39.
favourite. But I have forgotten all about him. Frankie who? | :07:40. | :07:42.
So with two left, if you haven't qute made up your mind who you're | :07:43. | :07:45.
rooting for in the final, we can help. | :07:46. | :07:53.
Please welcome host Tom Dikov and judges | :07:54. | :07:54.
Honestly, we love the programme. How could you do that to Frankie? We had | :07:55. | :08:08.
to listen. It's really sad, he was one of the best designers. He was | :08:09. | :08:14.
obsessed with fabrics. We have ascertained that he was horrible in | :08:15. | :08:18.
real life. And he was on the edge from the word go. And then he ran | :08:19. | :08:22.
out of puff. It is so gruelling, this competition. Week after week, | :08:23. | :08:26.
you have to come up with new ideas. And you two are quite harsh. Back | :08:27. | :08:34.
off, we are very friendly. In comparison to this one. But how | :08:35. | :08:38.
difficult can it be, just designing one little room? You have to days to | :08:39. | :08:45.
do it. I would challenge you to do it. Do not like what I have done | :08:46. | :08:52.
with this. No! You have been with the finalists. You happy with them? | :08:53. | :08:57.
We're really happy with them. They have shown week on week that they | :08:58. | :09:01.
are versatile, time time again. They come out with a completely different | :09:02. | :09:05.
look. Wait until you see the programme tonight, there are some | :09:06. | :09:11.
shoppers. Really?! Sarah, it was quite controversial with the orange | :09:12. | :09:16.
room last night. I love this. I really did like it. What it was so | :09:17. | :09:23.
wrong with that? It looks like a tanning booth. That is what I | :09:24. | :09:29.
thought. I loved it. It was a bit like a bordello. I know all about | :09:30. | :09:34.
these property programmes, you route around people's coverts were no one | :09:35. | :09:40.
is looking... I love it! I am a nosy parker. What is the most shocking | :09:41. | :09:48.
thing you have found? That is a good question. Most people's rooms, most | :09:49. | :09:54.
of them have a tidy up, but they are very magnolia and beige, very white. | :09:55. | :09:58.
What is great about this show, it allows the homeowners to embrace | :09:59. | :10:02.
colour and fabric and texture. The most shocking thing I found was a | :10:03. | :10:05.
Jamie Oliver cookbook. Everybody seems to have one. Did you find any | :10:06. | :10:14.
of our CDs in their houses? We have a clip from tonight's show where one | :10:15. | :10:20.
home owner is getting a little nervous. I feel like the brief has | :10:21. | :10:28.
not really been done. The homeowner's anxieties have | :10:29. | :10:30.
accelerated and she will not let us carry on. Basically, we are not | :10:31. | :10:35.
allowed back in the house at the moment. They have lost faith in the | :10:36. | :10:40.
design and Sarah was not working to the brief anyway. She has really got | :10:41. | :10:44.
to get the homeowner back on board and get work started. I can't | :10:45. | :10:51.
believe they lock you out! Not ask! Was it really that bad? It wasn't | :10:52. | :10:57.
just done for TV! She woke up the next morning and she said, I can | :10:58. | :11:02.
allow this to happen in my home. I see that the big earrings are in | :11:03. | :11:07.
real life and not just for TV. We also have Kelly Hopton on tonight, | :11:08. | :11:12.
and I know that she is feisty. How did they find her? Scared. | :11:13. | :11:21.
Intimidated. How did you find her?! I was quaking. The million-dollar | :11:22. | :11:27.
question, would you let these finalists design your bedroom or a | :11:28. | :11:32.
living room? I think I would. I have already let a finalist into my home. | :11:33. | :11:37.
Series one, Jordan. Hopefully as a designer! A great flash of colours, | :11:38. | :11:44.
lots of zigzags. They enable you to think outside the box. That is why | :11:45. | :11:48.
you should always use an interior designer. We are interior designers | :11:49. | :11:55.
so it would be weird, I don't know why I would want someone else to | :11:56. | :11:59.
design my home. But I would be up for collaboration for fresh eyes. Do | :12:00. | :12:02.
you help each other with your houses? Yes. You have helped me with | :12:03. | :12:10.
a fewer little bits. And I am buying a new house and Dan is helping me do | :12:11. | :12:16.
floor plans. He says, you don't want another bedroom, you just want a big | :12:17. | :12:20.
dressing room. And I said, yes, I do! Obviously, the programme is | :12:21. | :12:26.
great but we have noticed there has been a lot of supposedly great TV on | :12:27. | :12:30.
recently. The last three years alone, I think we have had... | :12:31. | :12:38.
The Great British Sewing Bee, Great British Menu, | :12:39. | :12:40.
Great British Year, Great British Grub, | :12:41. | :12:41.
Great British Holiday, Great British Railway Journeys, | :12:42. | :12:43.
Great British Benefits Handout, The Great Pottery Throwdown, | :12:44. | :12:45.
Great British Sex Survey, Great British Bake Off, | :12:46. | :12:47.
and The Great British Bake Off Extra Slice! | :12:48. | :12:49.
The Great Interior Design Challenge is on straight after us, | :12:50. | :12:56.
Before you go, one more thing, who wins? | :12:57. | :13:00.
You almost told me! tenterhooks. I think they are going | :13:01. | :13:10.
to give the game away. Is there going to win? They blinked! -- is | :13:11. | :13:13.
Sarah going to win. Thank you so much for coming | :13:14. | :13:16.
in Tom, Sophie and Daniel! We're going out on the streets to | :13:17. | :13:29.
ask you who the best of the best is on TV. | :13:30. | :13:30.
This week, our friend Funmbi Omotayo is in | :13:31. | :13:32.
Basildon on a mission to find the Best Double Act. | :13:33. | :13:43.
With so many great double acts, which one is the best of the best? I | :13:44. | :13:49.
have designed a little something, and with the help of the great | :13:50. | :13:53.
British public, we will settle this debate once and for all. So, the | :13:54. | :13:59.
runners and riders, brought to you by Too Much TV are Ant and Dec, | :14:00. | :14:08.
French and Saunders, Mel and Sue, light heavyweight champions of the | :14:09. | :14:14.
world, Morecambe and Wise, and since I have to wear this thing around | :14:15. | :14:18.
Basildon for the whole day, I get to pick my own and I'm going with the | :14:19. | :14:22.
legendary chuckle brothers, Paul and Barry. Let's do this. What makes a | :14:23. | :14:32.
good double act? Personality. Chemistry between the two. They make | :14:33. | :14:42.
you smile. Ant and Dec. What is it about them? Just look at them, and | :14:43. | :14:51.
you smile. Do it again, do it again! I would probably say Morecambe and | :14:52. | :14:58.
Wise. But I would say Ant and Dec. Ant and Dec. Who is your favourite? | :14:59. | :15:07.
Which one is And! As good as they are, I don't think they will ever | :15:08. | :15:11.
beat Morecambe and Wise. They were clever, they were funny, and you | :15:12. | :15:14.
felt as though it were talking to you. OK. Cast your vote. TV's | :15:15. | :15:21.
greatest double acts? How are you doing, search? Perfect. | :15:22. | :15:28.
Who would you go with? Ant Dec. What about French and Saunders, they | :15:29. | :15:39.
are not getting that much love?! That was a memory from my childhood, | :15:40. | :15:48.
so... Ant Dec, we are coming for you. Fool me, it is Morecambe and | :15:49. | :15:54.
Wise, because they were very, very clever. Who is the greatest TV | :15:55. | :15:59.
double of all time, in your humble opinion? Thank you very much, French | :16:00. | :16:10.
and Saunders - finally! In C win C spider... That is ten spiders you | :16:11. | :16:16.
have grown! OK, people, the people of Basildon have spoken. The results | :16:17. | :16:22.
are in. Coming in strongly in third, we have the wonderful Chuckle | :16:23. | :16:30.
Brothers. Get in there. I knew they could do it. Going into second | :16:31. | :16:34.
place, we have to give it to the veterans Morecambe and Wise. 26% of | :16:35. | :16:39.
your votes. And number one, the winners... Ant Dec! They were the | :16:40. | :16:46.
strong favourites. And regulations, boys. You are TV's greatest double. | :16:47. | :16:53.
It does not matter what the people say, I will always go for the | :16:54. | :16:54.
Chuckle Brothers. There we have it! Congratulations to Ant and Dec | :16:55. | :16:58.
for being crowned Best Double Nice for them to win | :16:59. | :17:01.
something for once! That means they earn their places up | :17:02. | :17:08.
on our Best of the Best board. Over the next few weeks, | :17:09. | :17:21.
more faces will be added Do you agree that Ant Dec are TV's | :17:22. | :17:23.
best double act? Tell us what you think | :17:24. | :17:28.
at bbc.co.uk/TooMuchTV or Tweet us Now, someone who definitely | :17:29. | :17:30.
is the best of the best is Eddie He is currently in South Africa | :17:31. | :17:34.
running, get this, 27 marathons in 27 days, all in aid | :17:35. | :17:37.
of Sport Relief. You can see how he's managing | :17:38. | :17:42.
every day on BBC Three. Let's have a look | :17:43. | :17:46.
at The Marathon Man. I just want to get this thing going. | :17:47. | :18:12.
I just want to get going. Here it is a good quote. Right-hand side? | :18:13. | :18:25.
And we have him with us now, live from South Africa! | :18:26. | :18:29.
Hello. Where are you precisely now in South Africa? We are now in the | :18:30. | :18:53.
Eastern Cape, in Somerset East. Restarted further up north in the | :18:54. | :18:57.
Eastern Cape and we are running down towards Cape Town. It is the ninth | :18:58. | :19:03.
day. I have run eight marathons. I am doing 27 in 27 days. I am already | :19:04. | :19:09.
one marathon behind, I have already lost a day, having had to go into | :19:10. | :19:15.
hospital. The heat has been up to 41 centigrade. They are checking my | :19:16. | :19:20.
kidneys and everything. I have actually been into hospital twice so | :19:21. | :19:23.
far. It has been the hardest thing I have ever done. So how was today? | :19:24. | :19:30.
Today was a little better. But it is still the heat. I have got sunburn | :19:31. | :19:38.
on my ankles. We have already taken one lay off. This is the second lay | :19:39. | :19:45.
here. And there is a blister there at the bottom. I don't know if you | :19:46. | :19:48.
can see it. The nails are a holding up pretty well. That is good to | :19:49. | :19:58.
know! Eddie, what about the cameraman who has got to run it with | :19:59. | :20:04.
you? Well, today I was doing a lot of broadcasting just to get the | :20:05. | :20:07.
message to people in Britain. By the way, if you wish to support at Sport | :20:08. | :20:15.
Relief, that would be great. BBC three online shows everything you | :20:16. | :20:21.
need to know. They just walk in front of me, he walks backwards. So | :20:22. | :20:27.
that is a bit tricky. But I go down to a walking pace and then I start | :20:28. | :20:32.
running after that. All of the other people sit in cars or hang out of | :20:33. | :20:35.
things. Sometimes they have to run past me, set up the cameras, and | :20:36. | :20:40.
filming. Everyone is getting very fit. You are and his regime to all | :20:41. | :20:44.
of us. If Eddie has inspried | :20:45. | :20:50.
you and you want to donate to Sport Relief, you can visit | :20:51. | :20:54.
Sportrelief.com/SponsorEddie. And watch him everyday | :20:55. | :20:55.
online on BBC Three. Thanks for joining us, Eddie, | :20:56. | :20:57.
and good luck with the rest Now, a little thing we like to call | :20:58. | :21:00.
Windback Wednesday! We're winding back the clock | :21:01. | :21:13.
to a date in TV history and looking at what shows | :21:14. | :21:16.
were on the box that day. Today, we're going | :21:17. | :21:18.
back, way back to.... When there were only | :21:19. | :21:24.
three channels on TV. Harold Wilson was in | :21:25. | :21:31.
Number 10 and The Hollies If you'd been watching BBC One, | :21:32. | :21:33.
you might have seen Watch With Mother and Deputy Dog, | :21:34. | :21:38.
but at 6.55 that evening, you would have caught the first ever | :21:39. | :21:40.
episode of Tomorrow's World. and was known for introducing | :21:41. | :21:46.
technology and gadgets to all of us. Here's how the show | :21:47. | :21:52.
looked 51 years ago. It was one of my favourite shows | :21:53. | :22:02.
when I was a kid. Of course the possibility of life on Mars has been | :22:03. | :22:10.
debated for many years. Lines on the surface have led to the idea that | :22:11. | :22:14.
these work and owls dug by the motions. A final answer to the | :22:15. | :22:18.
tantalising question will probably have to wait for a soft landing on | :22:19. | :22:23.
Mars with a spacecraft. But that is still a few years away. | :22:24. | :22:26.
I just love the way the host Raymond Baxter | :22:27. | :22:29.
talks - but the set design leaves something | :22:30. | :22:31.
Bit better than ours, if you ask me. He was a bit informal, wasn't he? He | :22:32. | :22:40.
was, for the time. They might have been | :22:41. | :22:44.
a bit behind on Mars, but Tomorrow's World told us first | :22:45. | :22:46.
about the pocket calculator in 1971, the digital watch in 1972 | :22:47. | :22:49.
and in 1981 the compact disc I remember that, they put jam on top | :22:50. | :22:59.
of a compact disc to prove that it was indestructible. | :23:00. | :23:00.
I can see that later on that night, at 9.35pm | :23:01. | :23:02.
on BBC Two, was the sitcom The Likely Lads. | :23:03. | :23:04.
Whatever happened to the likely lads? | :23:05. | :23:06.
I'm talking about the original series. | :23:07. | :23:10.
It was set in Newcastle and followed canny factory | :23:11. | :23:12.
workers Terry and Bob as they chatted up girls and enjoyed | :23:13. | :23:15.
19 and fragments. How much?! We did not order a fruit salad! I don't | :23:16. | :23:37.
care what it is! We have got to watch it. It will be all right. It | :23:38. | :23:45.
won't, not with the drinks they are having. Look at it! It is like an | :23:46. | :23:47.
allotment! There we saw the brilliant | :23:48. | :23:48.
James Bolam and Rodney Bewes. They were a great | :23:49. | :23:54.
onscreen double act. Although apparently | :23:55. | :23:58.
they didn't get on in real life. James Bolam went on to star | :23:59. | :24:02.
in loads of great shows. And he is | :24:03. | :24:08.
also set to appear in They recorded 20 episodes | :24:09. | :24:10.
of The Likely Lads. Only eight have survived, | :24:11. | :24:13.
and this episode was only The Master real, they would then | :24:14. | :24:26.
record again over the top of it. Don't take over my Top Of The Pops! | :24:27. | :24:30.
Next Wednesday, we'll be winding back the clock | :24:31. | :24:36.
But for now, let's get back to the future for the biggest | :24:37. | :24:41.
The ones to watch tonight include - BBC One's Traffic Cops | :24:42. | :24:54.
and Sky One's action sci-fi series Limitless continues. | :24:55. | :24:58.
It follows the doctors and nurses at St George's Hospital | :24:59. | :25:09.
And in this clip, someone's fingernail is | :25:10. | :25:13.
Quick warning, if you're squeamish, you might want to look away now. | :25:14. | :25:23.
That is if you are like Aled! I am going to move away! To remove a nail | :25:24. | :25:35.
is quite brutal. As a nurse practitioner, I do literally | :25:36. | :25:37.
everything that the emergency care doctors would do. Just tell me if | :25:38. | :25:44.
you get any discomfort whatsoever. One minute you have got somebody | :25:45. | :25:47.
with a skin rash, then you are stitching somebody's head up. What | :25:48. | :25:56.
is the matter with you?! Use it down with the family, eating your dinner, | :25:57. | :26:01.
watching that? And not with family. And it gets worse, I am afraid. | :26:02. | :26:04.
Cameras film 24 hours a day for 28 days in the A department. | :26:05. | :26:10.
And you get interviews from staff, patients and relatives. | :26:11. | :26:13.
On ITV, at 8 o'clock is Big Star's Little Star. | :26:14. | :26:18.
The show where kids answer embarrassing questions | :26:19. | :26:20.
Here's Eastenders star Nitin Ganatra with son Sameer. | :26:21. | :26:28.
What is daddy's favourite part of his body-worn his private place? -- | :26:29. | :26:43.
of his body question mark his private place? The answer was, your | :26:44. | :26:49.
private place, although not so private any more. | :26:50. | :26:50.
I would be so embarassed if I went on that show! | :26:51. | :26:57.
I would not know what my kids would say. That's why we want you to go on | :26:58. | :27:07.
it? It is the fourth series, it is a tried and tested formula, this one. | :27:08. | :27:11.
at 9pm for the first in a new series of the 1950s detective drama | :27:12. | :27:16.
Earlier we said you'd see more of James Norton. | :27:17. | :27:22.
Save for a minute I am God. Why would we ever say that? I am God and | :27:23. | :27:45.
you are Adam. How will we go about finding your Eve? | :27:46. | :27:48.
I just need a moment to adjust to James Norton | :27:49. | :27:57.
going from Happy Valley murderer to this, where he plays a | :27:58. | :28:00.
Grantchester is back for the next six weeks. | :28:01. | :28:03.
And this time around, there's multiple murders | :28:04. | :28:05.
for James Norton and Robson Green to investigate. | :28:06. | :28:12.
We're back at the same time tomorrow. | :28:13. | :28:15.
Of course it's Coronation Street, in honour of its | :28:16. | :28:20.
creator Tony Warren, who sadly passed away today. | :28:21. | :28:27.
But what a legacy he left behind - one of the best shows ever. | :28:28. | :28:36.
I'll be in tomorrow with Sara Cox, when Chelsee Healey | :28:37. | :28:41.
will be here in the studio telling us how she survived a mission | :28:42. | :28:44.
Plus, Rufus Hound tells us which TV show he wants to Bring | :28:45. | :28:48.
Enjoy your evening and tell us what you think | :28:49. | :28:51.
of all tonight's telly on bbc.co.uk/twomuchtv. | :28:52. | :28:53.
We are told that OJ Simpson IS in that car, | :28:54. | :29:07. |
