Hello and welcome to TM TV. Today me and Sara are here to guide you

through the highlights of last night's best TV shows. And we'll

tell you what we think are the ones to watch. Also, Giles Coren will be

talking in to talk about his time travelling show, Back in Time for

the Weekend. It's brilliant. And we'll be paying homage to world

famous TV chef, Keith Floyd in this week's Trail Blazers. And we'll take

a look at some of the craziest shows on Italian TV on TM TV eye tallia.

Plus, if you have a touch of the Strictly blues, don't go anywhere.

that let's look at last night's top TV. I never wanted to be a presenter

or actor. I wanted to be a pilot. Why don't you just fire. I can knock

up a soup in no time. You are unbelievable. No, you are

pig-headed. She is back. Maybe he put it up

me. And finally, we've got this magic, velvety, soft plastic balls.

It was a great night of it. V last night. Channel 5 saw Mulder and

Scully in the fourth episode of the new X Files. Mary Taylor got a tad

tipsy on Corrie and before that on ITV we saw Further Tales from

Northumberland with Robison Green. It is back Forestieri its third

series and last night was the third episode. If you thought nothing

happened in Northumberland, take a look at this. Tucked away in a back

field, is a place known locally as the combine harvester graveyard.

This unique monument to agriculture is the creation of farmer John

Manners and there is method in his madness, I think. . John, why have

you got 350 combine harvesters in your backyard, man. A fair question,

I think. Actually, Express sports combine harvesters all over the

world and I tell you what, the joke is on us. Because he makes a packet.

-- he exports. He makes a mint. Can I say I rather enjoy the fact that

Robison Green puts his name on all of his shows, you have Extreme

Fishing with Robison Green. Robison Green's wild wild wild and Further

Tales from Northumberland. You know why? So the mums know why to find

him. The mums know a Robison Green. They'll hunt down their Robison

Green. Bear grills does it. He pops husband moniker on there. Another

thing Robison Green does without fail, this is what we have noticed.

proposal. Never more a ro man take place to pop the question than on

the floor of the Queen Vic. Without a ring. No ring. Oh. What you didn't

see was the actor's knee stuck to the carpet. It is really Mancy. But

for those of you not up to speed with EastEnders' plotline Lee has

had a one-night stand and Whitney has kissed Lee's dad. For the

marriage it is not looking too good. The cathedral why on EastEnders is

brilliant but exhausting. I need something more feel good. -- the

drama on EastEnders. Well on BBC Two we saw the quarterfinals of the

great interior design challenge. The hunt to find the best amateur

designer in the country. The remaining contenders took on the

transformation of a cosy cottage sitting room and four became three.

Only three of you can go through. And the designer not going through

to the semifinals is... Anne. Oh. They look such nice people. You

really like this. I love this show. She was so good through the whole

series and last night not good. The brief was to add luxury but she

painted it purple and put in zebra cushions. Oh, no. They look like

mossy those cushions. It wasn't good. So poor Anne is out.

They didn't stamp a cross on her face in the show, did they? Frankie,

lusy and my favourite, Sarah are through to the semifinals which you

can see tonight. And of course the judges they will be on our sofa

tomorrow night before the final. I'm hooked on this show, love it. It is

really good. Good luck to Sarah. You are not supposed to have a

Weekend, the social experiment that has got us all hooked. Each week the

a Ashby hawk kins family take a trip through the decades seeing how

people experienced leisure time. They started in 1950. Tonight we are

up to 1990. Forward, two, three. 1951.

# Got to get back in time...# Great stuff. The man who has been

leading the family through the extraordinary time-travelling

adventure is Giles Coren. Hello, Giles.

I realise now it should be called Back in Time for the Weekend with

Giles Coren. I need Robison Green's agent. You missed it. People love

this show. Why is it so popular? Nostalga. People's childhoods. When

we were looking at a second series we thought we could go further back

it the 19th century but no-one will look at that house and go - I

remember that. You have to redo the '70s and '80s people love. Tonight

the '90s. I was already grown up for the '90s. It seems only yesterday.

The 70s and 80s huge, people see a soda stream and go mad. I loved the

'80s one. How did the concept of the show come about? Well, this weekend

weekend week, we had Back in Time for Dinner and that was to look how

food had gone through the ages, last year. We thought we had already

covered all the foods and we thought what else can we do, there was The

Family Expenditure Survey, the Government recording the spending of

thousands of people and going through it you could see how many

people were getting VCRs, mobile phones, where was the money coming

from, and what were we spending it on. I love the fact during this

show, TV sets changed the way the family worked, didn't they? When you

look back to the '50s, no TV. Etch was close together and families did

stuff. This didn't happen with the Ashby Hawkins, it was dad sat in the

armchair reading the paper with a pipe. Mum cleaning alldy and kids

running around outside. The TV brought them together. The mum did

all the cleaning. In the '80s did dad pick up some shake' n' vac. We

have a clip of Steph doing all the cleaning. You can do whatever you

want as long as the dinner is on the table, the house is clean, my shirts

are starched. # Wash up

# Does he clean up # No, he never cleans up...#

Look at the state of my hands with all that washing.

Rinse it first. Soak everything. I think it is unfair I'm doing all of

the house work. I didn't understand it in the '50s, '60s and now the

'70s. He lifts a finger in the '80s. Giles taking you back, imagine you

are lay in the frontroom carpet in your mum and dad's house, what would

you be wearing whilst wearing that delightful romper suit. There you

are. I have one now. A slightly larger one. I was going to wear it

tonight. I would probably have been watching Champion the Wonder Horse.

The Lone Ranger. They weren't making much kids TV, maybe the Klangeres.

That sort of thing. We have another picture of you. Look at this, double

dome in:? In 1975 everything was made out of denim. No alternative It

is come around again. Has it? And bamboo. The only material available.

I can't believe I'm going to show you this. This was me in the '70s.

There you go. So sweet. Is that your mum's bedside drawer in the

background with the booze. Sara, you are not getting off lately, there

you are in the '80s. The belted number and plastic beads. Health and

safety nightmare that one. Giles what can we expect from

today's show all about the '90s. So the internet is invented. So it is

dial-up. A lot of clicks and very show. Sett, the boy finally gets

some proper video games, Sega and Nintendo. Tony Blair gets elected,

Things Can Only Get Better. Do they? It is hard to say. They get real

technology and Steph gets out of the kitchen. Go Steph. She is released.

They are a great family. They are, really good. So if you want it catch

food writer. I love your writing. You must be a favent legendary TV

chef Keith Floyd, I imagine. Yes, he was a legend. Good old days of it.

V. No script, point a camera at him. A massive glass of wine. -- TV.

That's what we have done. We'll take a look now back at his life and

amazing cooking shows. He was a true TV Trail Blazer.

Before 1984 TV cookery looked like this.

whole world. I travel it, eat it, drink it, sell it and touch it.

Raised in a council house in Somerset, floids' folks made

sacrifices to send him to Wellington school. He left when the money ran

out and aged 16 set off to be a reporter at the Bristol Evening Post

before embarking on an Army career. I found I was a useless soldier. I

was more interested in German wine and German women, so decided to

leave the Army and go the myself a job as a vegetable cooker at a hotel

in Bristol. Having set his art on running restaurants, Floyd opened

three in Bristol and had great success in the kitchen but faced

financial failure. If the accountant says I should use

Floyd on fish stormed onto the BBC and threw down the gastronomic

we are holding Italian flags it is because of this man, Giovanni

Pernice. You might get a bit teary because we are going to look at TV

from your country, each week we look at the craziest TV shows from around

the world and this week it is too much TV Italia.

You are a pretty lady, I want to kiss your face. The first programme

is called... Mezzogiorno in Famiglia in English that is Midday ine the

Family, a two-hour game show on Saturday and Sunday and let me tell

you, Giles Coren would love this, because it is a bit old-fashioned.

Look at these girls. These girls jiggle around every week in their

crop tops. They are not wearing much, this is prime-time TV

apparently. They have a fantastic than shooting going on, maybe we

should learn from this? I don't know if crop tops are in the past for us.

Do you know this programme? Yes it is a good programme actually. If you

like the variety show, you will love... Tu?Si?Que?Vales or in

English, you really are worthy. It is their version of Britain's got

talent. The judges are certainly in the mood for partito, that is

Italian for party! Did I get that right? Not really! This gentleman

has a bit of a poncho but he is proud. That is one of the judges but

it is like she enjoys being frisked at the airport. Those are the judges

and suddenly I think the host will come out, there she is, she decides

to join in and have Buggea as well. They are the all are. -- have

Buggea. Do you watch that? Absolutely, they are very beautiful.

The host? OK. She might be watching if you want to do an appeal! And

there are a lot more ladies in the studios since you arrived!

From Italy's finest to the best of British, it has been 72 days, 20

hours, 40 minutes and 14 seconds since the final of Strictly Come

Dancing and how we have missed it. Giovanni Pernice here to help us

soothe our Strictly blues but first we must remind ourselves of his best

bets from that fantastic final, it was so good. Welcome to Strictly

Come Dancing, it is the grand final! Every time I am asked what makes at

terrific Charleston I will say watch YouTube. -- watch you two.

You were so close, 12 million people watched the final, how does it feel

looking back? Strictly Come Dancing is my dream come true, always. I did

not expect to be in the final in my first year but luckily we got to the

final and it was amazing. You and Georgia were fantastic, danced so

well together. You came all the way from Sicily to dance on what is our

biggest TV show over here, how did that feel, was nerve wracking? I was

not nervous, I was absolutely petrified! It was the first time for

me on television, I had never been on television. In the beginning

everything was strange. At the end of the day I just focused on what I

had to do and it was fine. You had to teach your partner how to dance,

how much English did you speak before you came over? Not really

good English, it is what you learn in school, what is your name, how

are you, that kind of stuff. I am still learning now. Every time you

speak I have to open my ears, learning all the words. I am good

with language because I can speak Russian, Romanian, Spanish and

Italian, a little bit. LAUGHTER I like to speak with a Russian

accent! I can only do the accent! I can speak a made up language! Your

English is incredible, to come over and be on the show. It is not really

English, it is kind of English. You can understand it. You are a dancer

before, you're not a plumber before you to this, but what sort of

dancing were you doing, where you competing? I was a competitor, I

stopped competing in March and I started with Strictly in August. I

used to competing a lot, for 16 years. You said before you had never

been on television before, with Strictly and everywhere you go now

there are cameras everywhere, how you finding that? In the beginning

it was really strange, I am not used to being in front of a camera so it

was strange, weird. But again, when you are in the studio to practice

with your partner you just focus on what you are doing, focus on the

dance, teaching your partner, nothing about other stuff. I just

think about what you are doing and you are fine. You did so

brilliantly, we have a clip of the Italian Strictly, look at the

judges. I think you know one of them, did one of them teach you?

Yes one of them was my teacher. It has been so great to meet you, I

hope you come back for the next series because you did so well. I

hope so! Giovanni, thank you for joining us. Some Strictly sparkle

back in our life. Now it is time to the most important question of the

day, what are we watching tonight? Cracking night on TV tonight,

Channel 4 has The Secret Life of the Zoo, Channel five has British Horror

Homes but the one I will be watching his BBC One, nine o'clock, Happy

Valley. It is so good, confusion in the keyword household as Ryan

receives a mysterious birthday gift. This is from me. Took me the best

part of the week to wrap that. Who is this one from? I just said I

don't know, it is from the doorstep. Get in there. Blimey. Who could that

be from? I might have an idea but we will have to watch tonight to find

out. I cannot believe I have not seen this yet, I need to catch up. I

feel your frustration but I am jealous that you can catch up, such

a treat in store, find the first series, catch up and join in with

the second because it is worth it. It is amazing, I hope the sake of

Sara Lancashire I don't get to meet her because I will just lose it.

Only three more episodes to go in the series and it is awesome. If you

try out caller powered rockets. We are going to attach the rocket to

the line and ignite it. Then how far it goes will tell us how much sugar

Back In The Yard. It is a series set in glorious Bolton in a scrap yard

and tonight the boss struggles with new health and safety rules. Put

that on your back. I am starting to lose my patience. I need sawdust on

this ramp because it is slippy at the moment. Don't let it fly

everywhere, put it down proper. This staff that are here now are not used

to running it by the book. That will do! A good night out in

Bolton, getting put in the back of a car! It's the first episode of the

second series and it is lovely, it is the characters who make it so

special. We are back at the same time tomorrow, Giovanni what will
