Of the nine contestants preparing for today's show,

only one will win prize money of up to £10,000.

The rest will leave with nothing as one by one they're voted the weakest link.

Welcome to The Weakest Link.

Any of the nine people in the studio here today could win up to £10,000.

They don't know each other.

But if they want the money, they'll have to work as a team.

But eight will leave with nothing

as round by round we lose the player voted the weakest link.

In each round, the aim is to answer enough questions

to reach £1,000 within the time limit.

The fastest way is to create a chain of nine correct answers.

Get a question wrong, you lose the money in the chain.

But if you say "bank" before the question, the money is safe.

But you start a new chain.

At the end of the round,

only banked money is taken forward.
