Of the nine contestants on today's show,

only one will take home prize money of up to £10,000.

The rest will leave with nothing

as, one by one, they're voted off as the weakest link.

Welcome to The Weakest Link.

Any of the nine people in the studio here today could win up to £10,000.

They don't know each other,

however, if they want the money, they'll have to work as a team.

But eight of them will leave with nothing

as, round by round, we lose the player voted the weakest link. Let's meet the team.

Now the rules. In each round, the aim is to answer enough questions correctly

to reach your target within the limit.

The fastest way is to create a chain of nine correct answers.

Get your question wrong, you break the chain and lose the money.

If you say "bank" before the question is asked, the money is safe

but you start a new chain from scratch.

Remember, at the end of the round, only banked money can be carried forward.
