Here are today's nine players about to play for £10,000. Only one will win the prize money.

The rest will leave with nothing after they are voted the weakest link.

Any of the nine people in the studio here today could win up to £10,000.

They are strangers. If they want to win, they must work as a team.

But eight of them will leave with nothing,

as, round by round, we lose the player voted the weakest link.

The aim is to answer enough questions correctly

to reach £1,000 within the time limit.

The fastest way is to get a chain of nine correct answers.

A wrong question breaks the chain and loses all the money.

If you Bank before the question, the money is safe.

However, you start a new chain from scratch.

At the end of the round, only banked money can be taken forward.
