Of the nine contestants preparing for today's show,

only one will take home prize money of up to £10,000.

The rest leave with nothing, as, one by one, they're voted off as...

the weakest link.

Welcome to The Weakest Link.

Any of the nine people in the studio could win up to £10,000.

They don't know each other. If they want money they must work as a team.

But eight leave with nothing, as, round by round, we lose the player voted the weakest link.

The rules. In each round the aim is to reach your £1,000 target within the time limit.

The fastest way is to create a chain of nine correct answers.

Get your question wrong, you break the chain and lose its money.

If you say "bank" before the question, the money is safe. However, you start a new chain.

At the end of the round, only money that has been banked can be taken forward.
